(Outfit and hair)
Steve had picked me up from the airport and we were driving to go pick up the others from the store, they were getting groceries for Eddie. Then we would go talk to Eddie.
It had been silent for a while.
I sighed and kept leaning on the window watching the trees go past.
I wasn't thinking about much, I was just empty, numb, annoyed I wasn't with Will, angry I left El, sad I didn't get to have the best spring break.
"I'm sorry." Steve stated.
"It's okay." I answered flatly.
"It's not." Steve shook his head.
I didn't say anything.
"I know you wanted to see him, and it's not fair that you have to come save our asses, I mean, god y/n you of all people deserve a break and you didn't even get one day-" Steve rambled.
"It's okay Steve. This is what I'm here for, you're the babysitter, I'm the protecter, I have superpowers, I have to help. Besides you're my friends." I sighed.
"Yeah....but they're superpowers you don't want to use, that you don't like. It's not fair and I'm sorry."
"Thanks." I smiled softly, still feeling empty.
"Was it at least a good day?" Steve asked.
I really smiled at the memory.
"It was great."
Steve smiled and turned up the music, Danger zone by Kenny Loggins filled the car.
I smiled at Steve who was singing and dancing.
"Come on." He laughed.
I laughed too.
we both rocked our heads up and down like rock stars and tapped the dash board, as we sang along badly and laughed.
Somehow Steve always knew how to make me feel better.

We all opened the door to Eddie's hideout.
"Jesus!" Eddie jumped.
"Delivery service." Dustin smiled holding up the groceries.
Steve waved and I awkwardly stared at Eddie and he exchanged the same look.
I was mad at him, I almost hated Eddie Munson, what was his problem with me? What did I ever do to him?
God but I couldn't help feeling sorry for him because I knew what it was like to be scared, to run away and feel worthless, I knew what this evil could do, how it made you feel.
Eddie started stuffing his face, I figured he hadn't eaten in a while.
"So uh we've got some good news and some bad news. How do you prefer it?" Dustin asked.
"Bad news first, always." Eddie answered with his mouth full.
"Alright. Bad news. We tapped into Hawkins PD dispatch with our cerebro and they're definitely looking for you. Also they're uh pretty convinced you killed Chrissy." Dustin explained.
"Like 100% kind of convinced." Max added.
"And the good news?" Eddie asked desperately.
"One your name hasn't gone public yet but if we found out about you it's only a matter of time before others do too and once that gets out, everyone and their shallow minded mother is going to be gunning for you." Robin explained.
"Hunt the freak right?" Eddie asked.
"Exactly." Robin answered.
"Shit."
"So before that happens we find vecna, kill him and prove your innocence." Dustin tried to help the situation.
"That's all Dustin? That's all?" Eddie asked sarcastically.
"Yeah no that's pretty much it." He answered.
"Listen Eddie, I know everything Dustin is saying sounds totally delusional but we've actually been through this before I mean they have, a few times and I have once. Mine was more human-flesh-based, theirs was more smoke-related but bottom line is, collectively I really feel like we've got this." Robin told Eddie.
"We usually rely on these two girls who have superpowers. But, the one girl um, her powers went bye-bye, so..." Steve started.
"What about the other girl?" Eddie asked.
"What?"
"You said there were two girls with superpowers, what about the other one?" Eddie asked frantically.
"That's the other good news." Max added.
I stepped forward.
"You?" Eddie asked in shock.
I nodded and showed him a small ball of white smoke in my hand.
He stared in shock as I climbed into the boat with Him and sat down across from him.
I tried to forget about what he had done, he needed help and I know what it's like when you don't know how to ask for it.
"I have dealt with this stuff for longer than anyone in this room. I know you are scared. I have fought this evil and won and I am still terrified." I spoke firmly.
Eddie nodded, scared and sad.
"Can-can I see?" I asked.
"What?" Eddie asked.
"Chrissy." I answered.
"She can read minds, Share memories, mind and plant manipulation." Dustin added.
"She does a little Smokey thing, um she floats sometimes." Steve tried to help.
I picked up Eddie's shaky hand and closed my eyes.
When I opened them they started to glow.
"Woah holy shit!" Eddie yelled.
"I haven't done this in a while, feels good almost." I sort of smiled at no one in particular. I played with the white smoke around my fingertips.
The smoke surround me and I looked into his mind. At his memories.
I saw Eddie walk into the room and see Chrissy's eyes rolled back, I saw him screaming for her, asking her to wake up, I saw her start to float.
I was breathing heavily. I felt blood drip from my nose.
"What's she doing?" I heard Eddie distantly.
"Looking for the memory." Max answered.
I saw each of her limbs start to snap and bend, I saw her jaw break, and her eyes ripped from her skull, pulled inwards.
I wanted to scream but nothing came out.
I saw Eddie scream and run and I saw her drop to the floor. Bones broken, and eyes bleeding. That was the end of Chrissy Cunningham.
I tapped back into reality in shock, I felt like I wanted to throw up.
I let out a high shaky breath in between all the heavy ones.
Tears fell from my eyes.
"I'm so sorry." I stated, shaking my head and hugged Eddie tightly.
After a moment he hugged back and tears escaped his eyes too.
I wiped the blood from my nose with my sleeve, staining the brown material.
I looked at him.
"Eddie. I would've run too. You are not a coward. What you saw- it was indescribably horrible." I spoke firmly, feeling so overwhelmingly sympathetic.
He nodded as he wiped a tear from his face.
We heard police sirens outside.
Shit.
"Tarp tarp tarp!" Robin exclaimed.
I quickly climbed out of the boat and Eddie covered Himself with the tarp.
We all ran to the windows and saw the police, ambulance and fire truck driving down the street.
We all quickly climbed into the car and followed them.
"There!" I yelled as Steve stopped and we all got out leaning on the doors, we caught Nancy's eye.
What was she doing here?

We were all sitting at a picnic table in the trailer park explaining what was going on to Nancy.
"You're saying that this thing that killed Fred and Chrissy, it's from the upside down?" Nancy asked.
"If the shoe fits." Steve sighed.
I picked at my nails and looked at the ground.
"Our working theory is that he attacks with a spell or a curse. Now whether or not he's doing the bidding of the mind flayer or just loves killing teens, we don't know." Dustin explained.
"All we know is this is something different something new." Max concluded.
"Doesn't make sense." Nancy answered.
"It's only a theory." Dustin stated.
"No Fred and Chrissy don't make sense. I mean why them?" Nancy asked.
"Wrong place, wrong time." I sighed.
"Like everyone else the upside down affects, Bob, Barbra, hopper, billy...Will" I exclaimed sadly.
Nancy and max looked down.
"They were both at the game." Dustin added.
"And near the trailer park." Max spoke up.
"We're in the trailer park. Uh, should we maybe not be here?" Steve thought out loud and we all looked around.
"There is something about this place. Fred started acting weird the second we got here." Nancy spoke.
"Acting weird as in....?" Robin pushed.
"Scared, on edge, upset."
"I agree, something is not right here. I felt it the second we drove in. There's something cold and just not right about this place. I didn't notice these things before, I guess because Will isn't here and my connection to the upside down is therefore lost or maybe because I hadn't used my powers in a long time but last year a piece of it was inside me....and I can feel it, the upside down, it's strong.
"Shit." Steve let out.
"Max said Chrissy was upset too, like Fred and maybe Fee can feel whatever they were seeing." Dustin pointed out.
"Yeah but not here. She was crying in the bathroom at school." Max told us.
"Serial killers stalk their prey before they strike right? So maybe Fred and Chrissy saw this Vecman-" Robin theorized.
"Vecna." Dustin corrected.
"Dunno about you but if I saw some freaky wizard monster, I would mention it to someone." Steve stated.
"Maybe they did, I saw Chrissy leave Mrs Kelley's office. if you saw a monster, you...you wouldn't go to the police. They'd never believe you. But you might go to your-" Max rambled.
"Your shrink." Robin and I concluded.
We all began walking towards Steve's car when Nancy turned towards hers.
"Woah Woah Woah Nance! Where you going?" Steve called.
"Oh there's just something I wanna check on first." She answered.
"Something you wanna share with the rest of us?" I asked.
"I don't wanna waste your time, it's a real shot in the dark."
"Yeah okay are you out of your mind? Flying solo with this Vecna creep on the loose? No it's too dangerous. You need...you need someone to...Here I'll stick with Nance." Steve spoke as he threw Robin his keys.
"Take the car, check out the shrink." He instructed.
"I don't think you want me driving your car." Robin exclaimed.
"Why?"
"I don't have a license."
"Why don't you have a license?" Steve asked.
"I'm poor."
"I can drive." Max stated.
"No! Never again please! Anybody but you no!" Steve yelled.
Dustin shrugged.
"No chance."
"Come on."
"I can try. I'm a quick learner." I stated.
"Oh god, no, no, no!" Steve yelled.
"All right, okay this is stupid. Us ladies will stick together. Unless you think we need you to protect us." Robin joked as she grabbed a walkie, gave Steve the keys and started walking to Nancy's car.
"Be careful!" Steve yelled.
"Just gonna stand there and gawk?" Dustin teased.
"Shut up. Shut up and get in the car." Steve yelled.
I smirked as I climbed into the back with max.
"Wipe your feet." Steve told Dustin.
He started rubbing his foot on the car's carpet.
"On the outside not on the inside!!" Steve screamed.
"Always the babysitter. Always the goddamn babysitter!"
