Lonely Paradise
I dwell within a lonely paradise,
Of sweet nectar flowers, and soft gentle breezes.
Where the warm summer sun curls around my toes,
As I doze off on the grass beneath lush trees.
Bird songs fill the air, and the hum of bees too,
While water trickles from a nearby spring.
And though all is a marvel within my paradise,
Like the croaking frogs, I crave company too.
But I did not foresee what was to come:
As the gates opened, a storm was brought.
Dressed in smirks and taunts, and haughty expressions,
Those that walked in were all but grace.
And one by one, they took their turns,
In the parade, which tainted my paradise.
Tarnished and strewn,
A deathly silence follows their trail,
And clouds of disdain linger in their wake.
You bigots! How dare you?
My shouts go unheard, and the pain of all that once breathed,
Seeps in through the seams. The gates of paradise
Are sealed, and I am grovelling, crying, and screaming
Into the dark, dark night.
My lonely paradise, broken and torn apart,
Forgive me. I will mend you.
