•Mystic Falls, Present •

Luckily for us, I realized that the diner we were at was not far from Caroline's dorm and I thought that would be a much better place to go than the motel. Plus, once Katherine noticed the gray in her hair, she had a hard time continuing to eat and I reminded myself about Elena and Caroline's meal plan, and that Katherine would make more use out of it than them. However, Katherine was dead set on stopping at some convenient store and buying a box of hair dye. Her reasoning was so she could look more like Elena, which I didn't buy. Katherine loved her hair more than anything and for it to be an another color, was mentally killing her.

Once we got to Caroline's dorm, Katherine told the resident assistant that she forgot her keys inside the dorm and that her roommate had already left and wasn't picking up her phone. Of course the RA bought the story and quickly let us upstairs to Elena and Caroline's dorm.

Inside, Katherine was quick to rush off into the bathroom and began her hair dyeing experience while I just lingered around the dorm inspecting everything. Granted, I already knew how the dorm was going to be set up because Caroline had spent all summer planning it and she constantly asked my opinion about her ideas until I got annoyed and told her stop.

But once I heard Katherine get into the shower, I decided to snoop around to try and find Katherine something to eat. Of course, the mini fridge was only stocked with bottles blood and a few water bottles, but no food. I sighed before glancing at the bathroom door. Katherine should be fine for a few minutes while I go scoop out some snacks for her.

Of course, the only thing I was able to find within a short distance of Caroline's dorm was just a vending machine. Well, it's food for now, until I can convince Caroline to give me Elena's meal card. I bought a handful of snacks before heading back up stairs to the room when I heard Caroline's voice on the other side of the door.

I froze within my tracks. I thought for sure Caroline would be back in Mystic Falls with Elena and Damon especially after last nights events. Or something along those lines. But then again, I haven't spoken to Caroline in a while and I don't even know how she is doing at college or what has been going on with her since I have been so focused on Katherine's wellbeing and making sure she is okay. I just had to hope and pray that maybe, just maybe, Katherine could play being Elena for a little bit, just enough to get Caroline to leave. But at the same time, I could just walk in and tell Caroline everything and hope and pray she would help Katherine, despite everything she had done.

Before I could make my decision on what to do, I heard Katherine's voice speak up and I decided not to intervene, unless Caroline did something to Katherine. I leaned against the door and listened into there conversation, hoping that Caroline wouldn't do anything to hurt Katherine especially after what she went through last night.

"Um, we're moving out?" Katherine questioned, and I couldn't help be curious as to why Caroline was moving out. All summer, the only thing Caroline could talk about was going to college with Elena and Bonnie and having normal lives, but now she was leaving? Something was up.

"Hello?" Caroline asked, as if the answer was obvious. "Dr. Maxfield thinks we're vampires, you know, threatened to expose us, told us to drop out." I felt the guilt start to settle in as I heard my friends problems. She was going through a lot, probably even more than she was letting on, But I have been so focused on taking care of Katherine, I completely forgot about everyone else and everything. But after what happened last night, and the feeling I felt, thinking that Katherine had died, made protecting Katherine my number one priority. I didn't like the feeling I experienced at all, something about it, was unsettling and I didn't want to see what would happened to me if Katherine ended up dead.

Everything was going fine, until I heard Katherine say, "That sucks." And I knew that right then, Katherine had blown any cover she had as Elena.

There was a moment of silence until I heard a body being slammed into a wall, most likely Katherine's and that is all it took for me to rush into the room. Caroline had Katherine, who only had a towel wrapped around her body and freshly dyed hair, pinned to the wall with her hand around her neck. That was enough for me to race over there and grab Caroline's arm and pulled it off her. Caroline glance over at me and stared at me for a second before looking between the two of us. "What the hell are you two doing in my dorm?" She asked us, but my attention was focused on Katherine and making sure that Caroline didn't leave any permanent damage. I already took Katherine to the hospital once already, I'm not ready to do it again.

Katherine rubbed her neck, trying to relive the pressure before sided eyed me. "I'm okay." She answered and I signed in relief as and she turned back to Caroline. "We just need a place to crash."

Caroline looked at Katherine with disbelief, "What? I loathe you." Then at me, "You are currently on the fence. But seeing as Katherine is involved, I'm not surprised." Caroline spat out and I couldn't help look down at the ground and kick the imaginary rock on the floor to avoid the conversation that I know Caroline would love to have about my curtain situation. Especially since the last time Caroline and I talked, we had agreed upon me going back home and forgetting about Katherine. Then I completely ignored we agreed upon, told her the truth about what happened in New York and in the quarry, and continued to search for Katherine. Yeah, Caroline had every right to be pissed off with me.

Katherine glanced at our exchange, feeling the slight tension between the two of us. "I'm desperate, okay?" Katherine pleaded. "Damon kicked me out, Stefan doesn't remember me, and I just spent my last $20 on a meal that I didn't even get to enjoy."

Caroline rolled her eyes, "Aw. And how is any of this my problem?" She pointed at me, "Plus, you look pretty fine with your little guard dog watching over your every move, what more could you possibly need Katherine? A whole army?"

I felt my jaw clench in annoyance, "I get it Caroline." I mumbled under my breathe, Caroline narrowed her eyes at me for a second, before turning back to Katherine who began to answer her question.

"Look at you." Katherine fired as her eyes glanced around the room until her eyes fell back onto Caroline and narrowed. "Moving out, giving up? That's very un-Caroline of you." A smirk began to form on Katherine's face, "You need me bad." And with that I could tell that Caroline was interested in what Katherine could prove for her and her sticky situation. However, I began to feel unsettle about the idea of Katherine putting her self into something she doesn't need to be in. "In exchange for a place to stay and Elena's meal card, I will help you deal with Dr. Whoever."

My ears perked up at what Katherine said, I wanted to intervene, but first I wanted understand what Katherine would be doing for Caroline.

"Dr. Maxfield. He teaches bio."

Katherine chuckled, and couldn't help but do the same but once I felt Caroline's eyes burning into me, I tried to cover it with a cough. "I'm sorry. What? You're scared of a teacher? Aw, honey, you really need to take a crash course on Villain 101, but luckily for you," Katherine finally pushed herself off the wall that Caroline once had her pinned to and walked pass Caroline and turned back, making sure to flip her damp hair in the process. "I have an honorary doctorate. What do you say, roomie?"

Caroline let out a loud sigh, "Fine, get change. I'm assuming you already figured out where Elena's stuff is all at."

Katherine couldn't help but smile at Caroline's response before she basically skipped her way over to Elena's dresser and began scavenging through her drawers until she found something somewhat decent for her and she quickly moved into the bathroom to change. And the second she entered the bathroom, I desperately wanted her to come back out because I was now left alone with Caroline, who was eyeing me up and down.

Her arms were across her chest and I knew nothing good would come out of this, "So, what did she promise you this time?" Caroline asked, and I felt myself having a flashback to when Annabelle said almost those exact words to me not too long ago.

I felt my mouth go instantly dry remembering Annabelle and who she was to me. She was my closest friend I had when I turned beside Katherine and by being my friend got her killed. Now, in a sense, Caroline took her spot and the idea of Caroline being killed because of me suddenly put me on edge, but I couldn't think that way. I shook off those thoughts and looked at Caroline, "I'm just trying to protect her, and you know why. It doesn't help that your friends almost killed her yesterday."

Caroline shook her head, "I don't understand you Julia, I really don't. She has done nothing but hurt you and made your life miserable for over two centuries. Half of the time, she wanted nothing to do with you and yet the second she cries wolf to you, you run straight through fire for her. When you know damn well she wouldn't do the same for you."

My eyes narrowed at Caroline, "She's human, it's different now. She needs me."

"For how long? How long until she finds someone else to protect her? Someone stronger and better? Then what, Julia? Who is going to be there to pick up the pieces of broken Julia?"

"Enough!" I screamed. "You don't understand Caroline, you never will because look at you. You get to go to college, you get to still have a normal life. You have friends and family surrounding you with love. You weren't  abandon by everyone you ever loved." I took a step towards her as I stared her down. "You don't know what if feels like to be left alone in this world when you are dying, but I do. And Katherine was there for me. She took care of me and gave me a new life. So I'll be damned if I leave her when she needs me the most because your damn friend decided to turn her into a human."

Caroline stared at me with disbelief at my outburst towards her, but she needed to hear it. I love Caroline and everything that she has done for me when Katherine was away. She kept me grounded when I wanted to let everything go, but that wasn't the case anymore. Katherine was alive and needed someone, I knew no one else would be there for her, except me and now Nadia, but since she's been missing. It was just me. I rolled my eyes and walked pass her, making sure my shoulder hit hers as I went towards the exit. "I'll be outside waiting." I mumbled.

~

At this moment in time, Katherine couldn't help but love the fact how thin the walls were in dorms, for it allowed her to hear everything that Juliana said to Caroline. Because once again, it proved to her the lengths that Juliana would go for her, despite everything. Katherine knew how much Juliana cared for Caroline, in fact, she even liked that the annoying little blonde had befriended Juliana. It gave Juliana someone else to turn to when Katherine couldn't be there, however, her main problem with Caroline was how she was trying to turn Juliana away from her.

Doing that, irritated Katherine, but after hearing their little disagreement, Katherine came to realize she didn't have to worry about Caroline trying to turn Juliana away from Katherine. Juliana was staying tightly wrapped around her finger, even as a human. Actually probably more now than ever.

Katherine glance back at the mirror, impress that she was able to find something in Elena's stuff that somewhat reflected Katherine's style, before exiting the bathroom. She glanced over at Caroline, only to see that she looked bothered by what Juliana said to her. Katherine mentally rolled her eyes. She should know better than anyone else how Juliana would react when it came to Katherine.

"Okay, I'm ready." Katherine announced.

Caroline pulled herself out of her head and glanced over at Katherine before marching over to her. "When all this is said and done, you need to let her go. She deserves to be around people who love her and are willing to anything for her. All you are going to do is get her killed by trying to protect you."

Katherine smiled before crossing her arms. "Caroline, everything that Juliana is doing is of her own free will. If you haven't noticed, I'm human now. I can't force her to do anything, all she is doing is protecting a dear friend."

Caroline narrowed her eyes at her, "You and I both know why she is protecting you. You are using her love for you to your advantage, and it's not fair to her. She deserved to be with someone who loves her just as much as she loves them."

Katherine tilted her head, "Who says I don't love Juliana?" Katherine asked, while smirking before walking pass Caroline and out the dorm.

~

"I don't like this plan." I mumbled outside of Dr. Maxfield's office.

Katherine rolled her eyes, "Please, it will work. Look at who you are talking to."

I narrowed my eyes at her, "Exactly, I'm looking at a human Katherine Pierce."

Caroline shook her head at our exchange. "Look, all we are doing is knocking him out, and draining him of vervain. Nothing else."  She took a step towards his door, "Now can we continue?"

Katherine took a quick glance over her shoulder at me, "Plus, if anything goes wrong, I know you rush me out of there before anything can happen to me." I gave her a slight nod while Caroline rolled her eyes at our interaction and entered his office to distract him . Next, Katherine entered the office as well. While doing so, she picked up a random syringe and bottle off of the tables we walked pass. Without reading the bottle, Katherine stuck the syringe into the bottle and began to pull the liquid into the syringe until it was filled. Then the professor came into view and I watched him looking into his microscope, while also speaking into his tape recorder with his findings of something.

It was then Caroline began running around the room, pulling the doctor away from his microscope and him putting down his recorder next to the scope. That was when I sped by and grabbed it off the counter. Once he couldn't pin out the sound, he turned back to his work station only to realize his recorder was gone and he began looking around, only for him to come face-to-face with Caroline.

"What are you doing here?" He asked. With his focus on Caroline, Katherine sneaked up behind him and injected him with the syringe in his neck. Within seconds, the drug had kicked in and he fell to the ground.

Katherine glanced between me and Caroline before smirking, "Okay girls, let's get to work."

I rolled my eyes and walked over the passed out doctor while grabbing some medical tubing that was laying on the counter and Caroline picked him up from the floor before placing him in a nearby stool. Caroline propped him up in the stool, and I began tying his arms to the arms of the stool.

Caroline then proceeded to search around his office to grab the necessary supplies needed to drain the blood out and also a piece of paper and a pen. She began writing down stuff and slowly Dr. Maxfield began to regain consciousness. The caught Caroline's attention and she turned towards him, "What did you inject him with?" Caroline asked Katherine.

Katherine, who was busy playing with medical tubing, shrugged her shoulders and reached for the bottle of liquid she had used. "I don't know. It just said avoid contact with eyes," Then she began reading the bottle. "And do not ingest." Caroline and I both gave her the look of 'Are you kidding me?' only for Katherine to let out a simple "Oops."

"It's etorphine." The doctor announced.

Katherine smiled and put down the bottle, "There you go."

The Dr. Maxfield looked at Katherine with confusing written all over his face, "What are you doing Elena?" He asked. Katherine only smirked at him as Caroline answered his question.

"We're draining the vervained blood out of your system so I can compel you to forget that Elena and I are vampires." Caroline explained.

The doctor was quick to react to Caroline's answer. "Wait. What? You'll kill me!" He exclaimed.

Caroline held up her hand, basically saying 'stop talking', before shh him. "I'm just-- I'm trying to do some math. Ok." Caroline looked at the two of us, "So if the average male has 5 liters of blood in his system..."

Katherine nodded her head at her statement which I rolled my eyes. "That's about right."

Caroline continued talking out loud while doing her math. "Then carry the one."

Katherine began tearing pieces of tape off of medical tape. "Just round up."

"It's 4.7 pints." I mumbled and while grabbing needle and holding it out for Caroline to take. This caught Caroline's attention and she looked at me with curiosity written all over her face.

"How did you know that?" She asked while slowly taking the needle out of my hand.

Katherine smirked before patting me on the shoulder. "Don't you remember, Care-Bear? Juliana here was basically a doctor all the way back in 1864. Back when she was trying to figure out the cause of Yellow Fever, of course." I shook Katherine's hand off my shoulder, hoping she will stop talking about the subject at hand. Despite everything and my feelings towards Katherine, that will always be a sore subject for me. Especially given the fact that she was the realize why all of my years of research were destroyed. All because Katherine wanted me by her side longer.

Caroline gave a small nod, "Right." She then walked over to the left side of doctor. "Should I use the right arm or the left arm?"

"Untie me. I'll find the vein myself." The doctor called out as Katherine walked over to the other side of the doctor, so she was across from Caroline. "You will kill me."

Katherine held out her hand, "Give me. It's not my first rodeo." That resulted in Katherine in giving me a side eye, basically saying, 'You know what I mean'.

I scoffed, "Yeah, from torturing me." I mumbled under my breath.

"Can you give me one of those tubing thingies, and some tape?" Katherine asked Caroline, but she looked at me. "You might want to stand in the corner over there."

I shook my head, "I'll be fine."

Katherine stared me down, "Last time I checked, you haven't feed in a while, and I think I speak for everyone here and say that we don't want a blood-lust Juliana running around here."

Caroline spoke up as she gather the items that Katherine asked for, "I think I have to agree with Katherine on this one, Julia. It's bad enough that they know there are vampires here, I don't it will help if you go around murdering people."

"Fine." I admitted and walked to the corner the furthest  away from all the action. Katherine smiled at me and then inserted the needle into the professor's vein before taking the tape from Caroline and taping it down. Then she connect the clear tubing to the needle and placed the open end of the tube into a beaker and slowly blood began to drip into the glass container.

"Oh my god. It's totally working."

Katherine smiled, "Ta-da."

But then, the smell of his blood began to fill the room. I swallowed hard at the smell and could feel the veins under my eyes emerging through my skin and my fangs began to retract from my gums. That's when I realized how long it has been since I have feed. I've been so busy with Katherine and making sure she is okay, that I haven't taken the time to feed at all. And as the blood began to fill the beaker more, the smell was only getting stronger and so was my urges. I quick grabbed the closest thing next to me, with happened to be one of the metal lab tables, and tried to focus on the conversation that was going on in front of me, hoping it will take my mind off the blood smell.

I watched as Katherine picked up a scalpel off the table and stared at the doctor. "So," She started as she circled him while tapping the scalpel on his body. "Doctor." When she was finishing up her circle around him, she took a glance at me, and took note of my situation. She took it as a sign to hurry up because she stopped toying with the doctor and put the scalpel up against his throat. "You tell me, who else knows about us?"

Dr. Maxfield flinched at the scalpel touching his neck, "If you were willing to kill me, you wouldn't have gone through all this trouble. You should have left when I told you to." Katherine pushed the medical knife a little deeper into his neck, but no blood was drawn. "They're on to you." He finally answered.

"Who's they?" Caroline questioned. "The people you want to expose us to, that secret society thingie that you belong to?"

"There's a gathering today at Whitmore House. The society's using it to suss out potential candidates." Katherine took a quick glance at Caroline, then at me again. Her eye's asking if I was okay. I gave her a slight nod, but I felt myself wanting to inch closer to the source of blood in the room. "They were going to invite you until they started suspecting you were a vampire." Dr. Maxfield answered nodding towards Katherine.

Katherine raised an eyebrow at his response. "So all I have to do is convince them that Elena Gilbert isn't a vampire?" She scoffed and threw the scalpel onto the table. "Done."

"They'll never let you in, and a vampire can never get past the threshold." The doctor finished, and all Katherine and Caroline did was smile at each other, knowing damn well they could get around that issue.

Then I felt the metal table under my hand crushed and the sound brought both Caroline and Katherine's attention towards me, worry plaster over their faces. Katherine leaned over and told Caroline to watch him for a second before she began walking over to me. Once she was close enough she grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the room, and down the hall away from his office. She continued to drag me along the hallway until she found a bench and pushed me down onto it.

"Juliana, you need to calm down. Your eyes are red and I can see your fangs." Katherine stated. "When was the last time you feed?"

At this point my throat felt like desert because how dry it felt. I try to swallow my spit, hoping it would resolve the issue, but it only made it worst. "I don't know." I answered before putting my head into my hands. "I've been busy taking care of you, and I just lost track."

Katherine sighed and sat down next to me, pulling my hands away and held them in hers. "You need to feed, Juliana." I looked up at her and she gave me small smile. "I'm sure Caroline has some blood bags in her dorm you can have. Plus, I need your help picking something out that resembles Elena."

"I don't like this idea, Katherine. You will be going somewhere were I can't help you." I admitted to her.

"I'll be fine, it is going to be a room full of humans and you know I can handle myself around humans." She paused, and rubbed the back of my hand with her thumb. "The person we really need to worry about is you, because if you lose control Juliana, I don't think I will be able to help you out in my current state."

I nodded in agreement, "I know, I just need to get something in my system and I should be fine."

"Good, cause, I need my best friend to be sane throughout all of this. It's bad enough that I'm human and now I have to play a human Elena, again."

I chuckled, "You've already done it before, but now you can truly embrace the human part of it."

Katherine rolled her eyes before getting into character. "Stefan, Damon! Please help me!" She mimicked and once again rolled her eyes before leaning on my shoulder. "Who am I kidding, she still does it now, even as a vampire. I just still can't believe that bitch did this to me, just as soon as everything was getting good for me. I no longer was running from Klaus and I had you again. Now I'm human who gets hurt by paper and sick by allergies."

"You don't deserve this." I mumbled.

hello people.

it is I. the writer who never uploads. uploading a new chapter.

is it good? no, no it is not.

is it a filler chapter? yes , yes it is.

on a side note, very pissed off at the CW for cancelling Legacies, especially when it was getting really good cause hope was finally a bad bitch as the full tribrid and I fucking loved it.

on another side note. I've watch the new pretty little liars: original sin, and I got a few things to say. one, it really shouldn't have the name pretty little liars in the title. it not pretty little liars, cause pretty little liars is based off the books and no one in the original sin is from the books. and that doesn't sit well with me. if a show is based of a book, it needs the characters from the books. and two the fact it is made by the same person who made riverdale pissed me off too because that dude destroys tv shows.

I have more things to say about that show, but that could be a whole chapter in it's self. I'm just watching it for bailee Madison honesty...

BUT. PEOPLE ARE SAYING THE SHOW IS FUCKING SCARY. AND I'M LIKE BITCH NO. HAVE YOU SEEN THE DOLLS IN PRETTY LITTLE LIARS. THOSE THINGS WERE FUCKING SCARY. EXAMPLE A IS SHOWN ABOVE
