Summary:

Review:
This novel is unexpectedly a hidden gem. I thought it would be a light drama novel but actually it's quite good. Even if the ending is a bit bland. I got emotional quite a lot when reading this novel. I like how the author didn't directly show everything from the past and sometime making cliffhanger in the middle of chapter.
MC is an actress, she is filming a medical movie or drama. The other actress is Song Yun, her family is rich. She repeatedly provoke MC but MC always broke her scheme. When she plan to humiliate MC by slapping her, MC trapped her by making herself hurt when she was slapped.
MC already with ML but their relationship is more like sex friend. ML love Song Yun's sister who is similar to MC. Everyone said he use MC as substitute but sometimes it was said their first relationship is because of drug, not intentionally making the other as substitute.
Yep MC is similar to Song Yun's sister and ML is similar to MC ex-lover who is ML's uncle. Both of them didn't knew each other relationship.
MC past, her parent live in the sea. Her father have a cargo ship. So MC is skilled at swimming, diving, fluent in Thai and Indonesia. On her 10th birthday, her parent sailed and never come back, they are missing in the ocean. MC then live with her uncle. She met Lu Boliang who is ML's illegitimate uncle. LB is a medical student then MC transferred to his university, yep she is really smart too, can do acting, medical, mathematics. MC and LB got close, MC knew LB has a girl photo. LB told her that the girl save his life and become vegetative. The girl love him but he never love the girl, when the girl dying LB promised to wait for the girl. LB then reject MC confession. Then there's accident in the hospital, a patient family got angry and took MC as hostage. LB switched with her and got his throat slit. His vocal cord broke and he can't become surgery. MC got traumatized and quit medical school. She went back to art school and continue acting. She also sponsored a teenager, the teenager love her but MC reject him. At first she got close to the teenager, the teenager then hack her pc and change LB photo to make it similar with him. MC then starts to treat him as substitute until she know what he did and leave him. MC got him and ML a fish when she had relationship with them, when the fish died she broke up with them.
ML past: he love Song Yemei, Song Yun sister. But Song Ye married ML cousin. ML cousin hated his family because he knew what happened in the past. His grandpa and dad were kidnapped, the grandpa asked ML dad to get the ransomed money. When the kidnapper release him to get the money, he left behind his sons. The cousin father died and ML father lose both his leg. The grandpa said he have 3 sons so he didn't care about the other 2. That make the cousin become crazy and repeatedly try to kill ML and LB. ML father become depressed, one time he punished ML and shut him in dark room for 7 days. ML become afraid with darkness. When Song Ye and his cousin married, he was lured out and saw MC with LB (it was when MC confessed to LB). ML thought MC is Song Yemei. After MC separated with LB, ML saw MC get chased by men. He then tried to save her but the men targeted him and stabbed him 14 times. MC run and called the police, she didn't knew that he was ML.
Then there are square loves between MC, ML, LB and the teenager. I think the biggest winner is Song Yemei. She plot everything to get her freedom. She was controlled by her parent then married ML cousin who is a perverted lunatic. She is the one who lured MC to meet LB then trapped ML. The ending is also close by her. She trapped MC and ML in elevator then published the video where she is abused by her husband which actually her own acting. She reported her husband for tax fraud etc. ML grandpa has stroke attacked then ML cousin got arrested.
In the end even thought she used MC and ML, she never got punished. In the beginning she used her sister and tried to harm MC with acidic liquid but failed. She also want to frame MC by drowning herself but also failed. Then in the end she said she never owe anyone and pour the acidic liquid to her own hand. Seems like the author trying hard to justify her life principles. The extras are about LB, the teenager, Song Yemei and the girl who save LB. It was shown about their past and ending which make them more alive.
