Chapter 25: Do You Understand Your Mistake?
Jiang Yu continued to refuse, “I’m not going.”
“Xiao Yu.”
Jiang Cheng Lang called out. “Since Wan Wan has graciously given you the spot, you are coming with me. Don’t let Wan Wan’s good intentions go to waste.”
He continued, “You owe Wan Wan for this. Say thank you. The next opportunity like this, I will be bringing Wan Wan as she is already giving you way this time around .”
Jiang Yu found this a little funny.
What did he mean by ‘owe her’?
Wasn’t this her idea?
And now Jiang Yu owes Wan Wan a favor?
Jiang Yu repeated, “There’s no need to make way for me. I said I am not going.”
Jiang Cheng Lang frowned with disappointment.
He had thought that she was an obedient and polite little girl. “Why did she become so stubborn all of a sudden?
Or is this her true colors?
Jiang Cheng Lang was slowly growing impatient, he opened his mouth and continued, “The matter has already been decided. You’re coming with me. I’m bringing you out to introduce you to the other families. Wan Wan is being sensible, so don’t be so inconsiderate.”
Jiang Yu has been polite so far as she has been shown courtesy. If you try to threaten me though, that will not fly. She was never one to pretend otherwise.
“I am saying this for the fourth time. I won’t go because I don’t need someone else to make way for me. Besides, why is it ok for her to do so but not me? Is that some kind of rule you have?”
“Big Sister, how can you be so rude to Big Brother?”
Jiang Wan quickly tried to smooth things over. “Big Brother and I are doing this for your own good. It’s ok if you treat me like this, but how can you treat Big Brother this way?”
Jiang Yu turned and looked at Jiang Wan with a blank face.
She thought to herself. She has never hit a woman but Little Lotus isn’t considered a woman, right?
Jiang Cheng Lang’s expression became grave..
Being in the Jiang family means it is inevitable that we have to interact with people from the upper circles. Wan Wan has already given up the invitation and yet Jiang Yu was still rejecting it.
She has completely stepped on his and Wan Wan’s good intentions.
“Jiang Yu.”
Jiang Chenglang called out her full name and asked slowly, “Do you understand that you are making a mistake right now?”
Jiang Yu ignored him.
No one could force her to do something she didn’t want to do and neither could anyone force her to admit a mistake.
“If you don’t realize the error of your ways, you need to reflect on your actions and yourself. It seems like the An family did not educate you properly…”
Jiang Cheng Lang shook his head.
Jiang Yu found this funny and laughed out loud.
“You dare laugh?”
Jiang Cheng Lang was furious. “It seems that you really don’t know how to own up to your own mistakes.”
Jiang Wan tried to ease the situation. “Big Brother, Big Sister has just returned and has not gotten used to our ways. We can’t blame her.”
“You are trying to be nice to her but she doesn’t appreciate it,” Jiang Cheng Lang snorted.
Jiang Yu sneered, “It’s just a small party. Is it really worth all this fuss? If I want to go, there are many ways I could get an invite. I don’t need yours.”
Jiang Yu glanced at her siblings. “Come on, tell me. How many invitations do you want? Just ask and I will get them, as long as you stop pestering me.”
Jiang Cheng Lang grew furious. “Watch your attitude.”
Jiang Wan was secretly pleased.
Let’s fight, let’s fight. The fiercer the better. This way, Big Brother will surely grow to hate her.
Just as the two of them were about to throw their daggers, the butler walked in and respectfully announced to Jiang Cheng Lang, “Young Master, the Feng family’s people are here. They are here to deliver the invitations.”
Chapter 26: An Invitation for Miss Jiang
Jiang Cheng Lang was stunned. “Sending an invitation?”
“Yes.”
The butler handed the letter to Jiang Cheng Lang. Jiang Cheng Lang opened it and confirmed that it was exactly the same one that he had received.
Jiang Cheng Lang found this a little odd. “Where’s the messenger?”
“They left after delivering the invitation. They left two specific instructions as well.”
“Why have you not told me then?”
The butler hurriedly said, “They said that the Fifth Young Master Feng said this invite is addressed to Miss Jiang.”
Jiang Cheng Lang was stunned. “The Fifth Young Master Feng?”
Fifth Young Master Feng has specially sent an invitation to someone? He even mentioned it was for Miss Jiang?
Since when has Wan Wan interacted with Fifth Young Master Feng?
He glanced at Jiang Wan who looked at him with a straight but eager expression.
With an additional invitation letter, that means she can attend the banquet as well. It seemed that Jiang Wan really wanted to attend the party after all but she was thinking about Jiang Yu and had given up her chance for Jiang Yu. However, Jiang Yu had rejected her kindness.
Jiang Cheng Lang frowned as he thought of this.
He glanced at Jiang Yu from the corner of his eye and saw that Jiang Yu was still acting cold and indifferent, as if the conversation between the butler and him was of little importance to her.
“What about the second part of the instruction?”
“He said…”
The butler looked up at Jiang Yu and quickly looked down again. “The Miss Jiang they were referring to was Miss Jiang Yu.”
A silence fell over them.
Jiang Cheng Lang and Jiang Wan were shocked.
How could this be for Jiang Yu?
Didn’t Jiang Yu just get here?
Fifth Young Master Feng has just entered the Feng family as well.
Could it be that they were acquainted with each other?
“I’ve already said, there’s no need for you to be courteous. Can I leave now?”
Jiang Yu was too lazy to explain any further and didn’t care what they thought. She got up and walked away, silently cursing in her heart.
Jiang Cheng Lang, too embarrassed, did not stop her from leaving and allowed her to return to her room.
Jiang Wan clenched her fists.
Jiang Yu has just returned and she was already involved with the Feng family without her knowledge. She had really underestimated her.
She put on an air of shock. “Big Brother, how does Big Sister know people from the Feng family? More so the Fifth Young Master Feng? We were just talking about the invitation and they just so happen to send out an extra invite…”
Jiang Cheng Lang’s expression was strange.
Although he was very puzzled, she was his biological sister and did not want to make assumptions.
“Since XIao Yu does not want to talk about it, let’s just forget about it for now. Let’s not question her any further. When the time comes and she is ready, perhaps she will tell us the story.”
Jiang Cheng Lang ended the topic there. “Since we have enough invitations, you can both follow me.”
“Alright, I understand. Thank you, Big Brother,” Jiang Wan thanked him sweetly. “I will heed your words and leave Big Sister alone. I will not pry into her connection with the Feng family.”
“Wan Wan, you’re the best.”
Jiang Cheng Lang breathed out a sigh of relief.
At least he had Wan Wan as his loving and caring sister. He hoped that Jiang Yu would learn to be more obedient and that nothing will happen at the party.

The next day.
When Jiang Yu got downstairs, Jiang Wan was already waiting and Jiang Cheng Lang had already left for work.
After breakfast, the two of them went to school. As soon as Jiang Yu entered the classroom, Jiang Ze Yu approached her.
He was carrying a plastic bag and said kindly, “Little Sister, I’ve packed some xiao long bao for you. I was worried that you did not have enough for breakfast.”
Chapter 27: Big Brother Will Be Your Pillar of Support
Jiang Yu looked at Jiang Ze Yu. “What did you just call me?”
“Little Sister.”
Jiang Ze Yu said frankly, “Aren’t you my little sister?”
Jiang Yu was silent for a moment. Not bad. After just one day, he has become much friendlier.
She did not oppose it though. After meeting Jiang Cheng Lang, she felt that Jiang Ze Yu was much better looking.
Jiang Yu looked at the dumplings in Jiang Ze Yu’s hang. The fragrance wafting from the bag assailed her nose and she could see the steam coming off of it. She was craving for a taste.
“Little Sister, sit down first.”
Jiang Ze Yu waited for Jiang Yu to take her seat. He tore out a page from his homework book and laid it on her table. He then placed the plastic bag on it and even unwrapped the bamboo chopsticks for her. He only stopped short of feeding her.
He did want to feed his sister but he was afraid of pushing his luck.
Jiang Yu took a bite of the xiao long bao and said, “This is delicious.”
Jiang Ze Yu’s eyes curved into a smile. “If you like it, I will bring some for you everyday.”
Behind him. Song Bi was cradling his head in his hands.
Yesterday, he had casually mentioned to Brother Yu that the xiao long bao near his house was delicious. Brother Yu had asked him to bring some and made him promise to keep the xiao long bao hot.
He had even turned around to grab a thermos box from home. When his mother saw this, she had pestered him incessantly, asking if he was bringing breakfast for a special girl. It took a good long while to settle his mother.
Just great. He was the one who had brought the xiao long bao but all the credit went to Brother Yu.
Song Bi’s eyes were filled with frustration and bitterness. Brother Yu was the one who had a younger sister but he was the one who did all the heavy lifting?
“Little Sister, you will only be able to concentrate on studying when you are on a full stomach.”
Jiang Yu looked at him and asked, “What about yourself?”
Jiang Ze Yu beat his chest and proclaimed, “Big Brother will be your pillar of support.”
Jiang Yu: ‘... Alright.’
In the story, Jiang Ze Yu’s grades weren’t that good, Jiang Yu decided to not hold any high expectations of him.
As long as he was pleasing to the eye, it shouldn’t be too much of a bother to keep him around.
Jiang Ze Yu watched Jiang Yu finish the dumplings and helped her clean up the rubbish. He returned to his own seat with a satisfied smile.
Providing food for his little sister is turning out to be pretty enjoyable. It definitely wasn’t a waste to give her his chicken drumstick yesterday.
Jiang Ze Yu praised himself. How could he be so smart? He could draw so many ideas from just one incident.
Now, how should he shorten the gap between him and his sister?
“Brother Yu,” a boy sitting behind him prodded. “You let your sister eat so that she can study hard for the exams but that seems kind of pointless.”
Having left Jiang Yu’s side, Jiang Ze Yu reverted back to his usual lazy demeanor. He placed his feet on the table and asked, “Oh? What did you have in mind?”
“To study hard, you should take more notes. Don’t you notice the group of students sitting in front of you will be copying the notes of our class’ top student everytime the exams are coming around?”
“But our class is the last in our grade. Copying the notes of the top students in this class is useless. If your sister wants to beat Special Class 1, she should acquire the notes of the students from that class. It would definitely be more useful than just reading from a textbook!”
Jiang Ze Yu sat up straight.
He snapped his fingers. That’s right, why didn’t he think of this before?
“Your suggestion is sound. I will go now.”
Jiang Ze Yu stood up and hurried off.
Song Bi watched in a daze. “Where do you think Brother Yu went all in a huff?”
The boy was stunned. “Brother Yu won’t… Go look for the top student in the grade right?”

Whispers descended over the classroom when Jiang Ze Yu appeared at the entrance.
Ni Man nudged Jiang Wan. “Wan Wan, look. Isn’t that your Fourth Brother standing at the door? What’s he doing here?”
