Jamie walked into the bathroom to clear up when she heard crying in one of the stalls. She looked under and recognised the pair of shoes
"Chrissy ?" She called out for the girl "you alright ?" She went closer to the school
"Yeah" Chrissy sounded like she was crying "I'm fine just not feeling too good" she paused "I don't wanna come of as rude but could you please just leave me for a second ?"
"Yeah yeah of corse" Jamie knew it was horrible for people to be watching you when it's unwanted "if you need anything I'm always here" she opened the door
"Thank you " Chrissy sighed.
Jamie went down to see Nancy who was working on the schools news paper. Over the summer Nancy and Jamie were together lots of the time. She stayed around Nancys a lot more over the summer. It was nice to see Mike and Nancy more.
"Hey nance" she walked down the stairs and leaned over the table Nancy was working on "I heard you're not going to California how comes ?"
"I'm too busy" she replied "me and Jonathan already said we'd see each other soon"
Fred one of Nancys co workers wondered over "they make no sense" he rolled his eyes
Jamie laughed "you seem more invested in their relationship more then Nancy is".
Jamie was stopped half way down the hallway by Mike and Dustin
"JJ !" Dustin yelled "do you wanna join hellfire tonight ?"
"No" Jamie was about to walk away before Mike stopped her
"Jamie please" Mike begged "just tonight"
"No way" she walked away.
It was finally the game, Mia and Jamie took their seats and waited for Lucas to come running out with his team.
When they finally came out everyone was cheering. Steve came in with a girl, it caught Jamie's attention as he sat in front of her. He turned and smiled at her then back to his date.
Pietro came in following and sat next to Jamie. Jamie was confused to see him "since when do you like basketball ?"
"I wanted to support my boy" Pietro pointed at Lucas "where's Henderson ?"
"Hellfire club" Mia stated
Pietro frowned "poor Lucas man".
The principle came out "everyone now please rise for our national anthem." Everyone stood up "singing for us tonight, we have a very special guest. All the way from Nashville, Tammy Thompson" all the crowd cheered
Steve turned to Jamie and opened his eyes Jamie's mouth was wide open as Robin also looked at them both, the girl walked out waving at everyone
She held the mic close to her and began singing "o say can you see" Robin bit her lip in embarrassment "by the dawns early light" Jamie tried to contain herself as Steve looked up to her, looking rather disgusted
Steve looked at Robin and whispered "told you"
"Muppet" Jamie whispered to Robin
"Okay she sounds like a muppet" Robin whispered back to them
Amy giggled "oh totally" she smiled at Robin "she sounds like Kermit"
"I think it was more like miss piggy" Robin replied making Amy snort.
Tammy carried on as Steve's date turned to him "wow she sounds amazing doesn't she" Jamie heard and started giggling
Steve looked at Jamie really confused.
She finally finished. The game started, Lucas was still on the bench so Jamie was barely paying attention. Riff was almost better then everyone.
One of the players were injured and sent off, the coach pointed at Lucas to come in. Riff put his arm around Lucas and grinned at him.
The team went to up two points, one scored by Jason and another by Riff. After a while of missing and passing it came to the last 10 seconds. Lucas ended up with the ball, everyone was cheering as it was 2 seconds left.
He jumped and through the ball. As it went in Jamie stood up and cheered as loud as she could. Pietro followed as they cheered Lucas.
The crowd roared, Lucas turned to see Dustin and Mike weren't there which led him to be disappointed until he saw the look on Jamie's face cheering for him. He smiled and waved at her as she was still screaming of excitement
"GO LUCAS" Jamie screamed as Pietro was also screaming for him.
Riff hugged Lucas tightly followed by Jason as Lucas was lifted in the air as the crowd cheered.
When they got outside Jamie and Pietro ran to him "there you are my boy" Jamie hugged Lucas tightly
"You liked it ?" Lucas seemed surprised as Jamie hated any type of sports "I was happy I saw you there"
"I feel like a proud mom" Jamie smiled as Pietro grabbed him
"My son you done so well" he kissed Lucas's head "so proud"
Before Jamie went she gave Lucas another squeeze "hey, screw them for not being here."
Next thing Jamie knew she was with Nancy watching the news at school. Chrissy's body had been found at Eddie Munsons trailer
Jamie was frowning at the TV "poor girl" she sighed "I was legit talking to her yesterday"
A woman was getting interviewed "ever since that girl Barb dies a few years ago it has been one thing after the other" she had her hand on heart
Jamie's mind went straight to running from a demegorgon.
"Jamie" Fred waved his hand across Jamie's face "I said I don't think anyones going to care about the basketball game anymore"
She agreed "yeah"
Nancy whispered to the two of them "would you be up for a field trip ?"
Jamie Fred walked out of school and hopped in Nancy's car on the way to the trailer park.
"So what's our game plan" Fred asked
"Game plan ?" Nancy seemed confused
"When you and Jonathan investigated for Hawkins Post, did you split up... or ?"
"Oh my god again" Jamie complained "not everything is like Jonathan and Nancy dear boy" she patted his shoulder "just let me and nance do the talking"
"Shit slow down slow down" Fred looked at the cops that were swarming the park site
"Act casual man"
They stopped as a police officer walked over to the car "can't get through. Got a crime"
Jamie popped her head out of the car "hi officer." She smiled
The officer looked taken back "Jamie Hopper ?"
"Yeah that's right" she put on a innocent smile "I'm just here for a friend who lives here her names Max Mayfield. You know it's hard times an all"
The officer pointed to Fred "he alright ?" Jamie turned to the boy to see he was out of it
"FRED" she yelled as he came back to consciousness. He looked shocked. She turned to the officer who was weirded out "he has a day dreaming problem sir"
"I'll let you check on your friend just be fast" he looked in defeat
"I will thank officer" Nancy drove away
"What the hell was that!" Jamie sat back
"I don't know" Fred seemed a bit shaken so Jamie decided to leave it.
They searched through the trailer park and Jamie knocked on a trailer. The door swung open
"Hi I'm Jamie Hopper I uh work at Hawkins Tiger"
She seemed tired "I've talked to enough reporters" she swung her door shut making Jamie sigh
They all walked in defeat. Fred seemed to have completely given up "we've spoken to everyone"
"Nope not everyone" Jamie pointed at a dog behind a fence. She ran to it as did Nancy "hello" she said in a baby voice
The dog was whining "oh he's adorable" Nancy squeaked "you're a good boy"
Jamie looked over and saw a man sitting by himself "wait there" Nancy stayed waiting with the dog while Jamie ran over to the man
"Hi" she approached "I'm a friend of Max Mayfields over there" she pointed to Max's trailer "you're Wayne Munson, aren't you ?"
He took a puff of his cigarette "that's right"
"I heard you found the body" he seemed fragile at that moment "the neighbours were"
"Like to gossip" he interrupted "and I like to gossip no more. Certainly not to a reporter."
"What gave me away" she sat down "let me level with you Mr Munson. The paper that my friends work for is... small. They don't have the staff to keep up with the big guys. And I'm just... looking for something, anything really about what happened last night"
"Why ? Far as I can tell, you all have it figured out already. My nephews a freak. He killed that girl. Ain't that about right"
"Let me guess you've been speaking to the Hawkins post ? Chuck Bailey ?" he nodded "yeah he speaks a load of bullshit trust me, he doesn't know his ass from his elbow" he laughed "let me and my friends tell your side of the story. It's only fair sir"
And he did. He did not think it was Eddie, he thought it was pure evil, Victor Creel. He told her the story which gave her the shivers.
Jamie turned and saw Nancy waiting in her car, but Fred was nowhere to be seen.
"I'll be right back" she ran to Nancys car "where's Fred"
"He was with the puppy why is he not there" she got out of the car.
They both searched the woods asking everyone where Fred was.
They walked to the same officer and told him everything. He called in back up and after the whole night of waiting they found his body, the same as Chrissy's.
Jamie found the nearest phone box she could. She dialled Dustin's number.
He finally answered "hello ?"
"Dustin ?"
"Jamie ? is that you ?"
"You know I've been trying" she stuttered "I've been trying to call you everywhere are you okay ?" She felt her eyes burn with tears
"Yeah I'm fine. You sound shaken up what the hell happened" he said while watching the news
"I uh I'm was with Nancy and Fred and Fred went off" she cried "and then we were trying to find him the whole night and then" she chocked up
"I'm going to come and get you now I promise" he said in a hurry
She put her hand on her head "god I can't believe this is happening"
"Stay right there we're coming"
"Dustin I'm so scared right now" she finally broke
"We're coming JJ I promise" he nodded to Steve who grabbed his keys
She exhaled "okay" she tried to smile "can you please just hurry ?" Her eyes filled with tears again
"I'm coming".
"Jamie ?" An officer came up to her he had the badge 'agent Wallace' he had an FBI badge
"Hi yeah that's me"
He smiled lightly "can we speak for a moment" she gestured for her to follow him. They reached the middle of the road were no one could hear them
"So what is it ? Do you know what killed him" she bit her nails
He sighed "well there has been speculation that it was you or eleven Jamie" Jamie always forgot the FBI always knew about her and el
"Excuse me ?" She looked taken back "el is a little girl and I wouldn't even hurt a fly"
"I know but we don't know what you are capable of" he paused "number five"
Jamie frown turned to anger "my name is Jamie, I am not a stupid number! I in no way shape of form hurt anyone"
He could see her anger "Jamie we just want to take precautions. So we have a collar"
She laughed in his face "there is no way I'm wearing a collar. Say this crazy murderer comes after me or my friends, and what I have no powers to protect them"
Luckily for Jamie Officer Callahan and Officer Powell. And over
"Jamie could we speak" Officer Powell said eying up agent Wallace
"Sure" she walked with them quickly
"Was he bothering you ?" Officer Callahan said
She shook her head "it's fine"
She turned to see a car approach, Steve Robin Dustin Pietro Mia Amy and Max all stepped out. Jamie sighed in relief. Steve put his hand up and waved, she done the same thing.
Her and Nancy walked over to them. Jamie hugged Dustin "thank you so much" she looked at Steve
"It's alright" Steve smiled.
They all walked over to a table
"So you're saying that this thing that killed Fred and Chrissy, it's from the upside down" Jamie asked
"If the shoe fits" Steve answered
"Our working theory is that he attacks with a spell or a curse" he pointed at Jamie "kind of like how you can get into peoples minds" he tilted his head "now whether or not he's doing it with the mind flayer or just loves killing teens, we don't know."
"All we know is this is something different" max looked at Jamie "something new"
"Doesn't make sense" Nancy closed her eyes
"It's only a theory"
"No, Fred and Chrissy don't make sense." She put her finger on the table "I mean, why them ?"
"Maybe they were just in the wrong place. They were both at the game" Dustin thought
"And near the trailer park" max added on
Steve looked concerned "we're at the trailer park. Uh should we maybe not be here"
"Don't worry" Mia finally spoke "if thrust vecna freak did kill someone it would be Jamie" she acted like it was normal
"Why me ?"
"You're the only one who could possible freak this thing out"
Amy giggled "you freak the freak out" Robin laughed
"This place is creepy though" Pietro looked around
"Fred started acting weird the second we got here" Nancy looked at Jamie who approved
"Acting weird as in" Robin asked
"Scared" Jamie said "on edge was totally out of it"
"Max you said Chrissy was upset too" Dustin stared at Max
"Yeah but not here, she was crying in the bathroom"
"I saw her upset too" Jamie replied
