Chapter 1: I Hit Men
“Have you heard the news? The rich and powerful Jiang family has just found their eldest daughter, An Yu, who has been missing for 14 years!”
“An Yu? Who is An Yu?”
“Things are going to get interesting. The Jiang family has three children in high school. The second daughter, Jiang Wan, is known as the school beauty and their fourth son, Jiang Ze Yu, is the renowned school bully. I’ve never heard of this ‘An Yu’... Maybe she is just a nobody.”
“A nobody? Probably trying to snake her way into the inner circle of the capital’s elite. Tsk tsk, that will be difficult.”
“Don’t say such things. That’s like a toad wanting to turn into a princess. It’s no easy feat for an ugly duckling to turn into a swan. You could learn a thing or two from her. Hahahaha!”
Accompanied by snickers, the person spoken of, Jiang Yu, was walking down the road.
She was not in a good mood. When she woke up this morning, she found herself stuck as the supporting female character of a book, basically cannon fodder for the story. She had been sewing wedding clothes for Jiang Wan, the other female supporting role. Jiang Yu does not even live past two chapters of this book. How could she be in a good mood?
She was so annoyed that she could hit someone.
“You… Are you An Yu?”
A man and woman’s voice rang out at the same time. Two groups of people looked towards each other and the female group shrank away.
The girl at the head of the group said, “Sorry to interrupt. Please, go ahead...”
At the wave of her hand, the group dispersed.
This was no small matter. No matter how bold they were, they wouldn’t dare snatch someone from the school bully’s grasp.
The girls on Jiang Yu’s right quickly ran away. She looked at the three boys to her left.
They stood around casually, their shirts of their school uniform tucked away loosely into the waistband of their pants. They had dyed hair. The only thing missing from their getup was the words ‘I am a delinquent’ stamped across their faces.
The three boys were good looking though, especially the one standing in the middle. He had outstanding facial features and a head of blazing red hair. Standing in a crowd, he would catch anyone’s eye.
This hair color would not suit an ordinary person but he managed to pull it off thanks to his exquisite face. Instead of looking washed out, he looked passionate and flamboyant.
Jiang Yu knew who this person was.
He was the son of a rich family, the famous school bully, ranked last in the grade, and also her future brother in this story, Jiang Ze Yu.
She calmly said, “I am.”
Just as she was thinking about looking for trouble, someone had come right up to her. This was a good opportunity for her to get some punches in.
As Jiang Yu sized up Jiang Ze Yu, he was doing the same to her.
The girl in front of him had hair that fell to her chest. She had thick bangs, making her look dull and old-fashioned. However, she had a small, pale face.
Her looks did not meet his expectations.
The longer Jiang Ze Yu looked at her, the deeper he furrowed his brows. He opened his mouth and said in a tone of disdain, “You, with your ugly looks, you’re my sister? Which dump did my elder brother pick you out of?”
The boy on his left was silent. He thought in his head, ‘Big Brother Yu, didn’t you just want to see what your biological sister looked like? Why did you have to insult her the moment you saw her? That doesn’t seem like a good move to me…’
Afraid of being beaten up, he kept his mouth shut.
Jiang Yu pursed her lips. She looked like she wanted to beat him to a pulp.
Nobody said that she couldn’t beat up her big brother.
“I’m talking to you, did you hear me?”
“Yes, I heard you,” Jiang Yu said slowly. “Why? Do you want to fight?”
This stuck up, rich kid should be taught a lesson.
Jiang Ze Yu frowned subconsciously, “I don’t hit women.”
“Oh, but I hit men.”
Her voice was hoarse and low, like a teenager who was going through puberty and was being grabbed at the throat by someone. There was a note of arrogance in her words, which made her even more annoying.
“Heh, you?”
Jiang Ze Yu took one look at her skinny arms and legs and said in disdain. “I can beat ten of you, you’re just a small stick…”
Before he could finish his sentence, Jiang Yu yawned and suddenly disappeared from his view!
What the hell?
Jiang Ze Yu was stunned. Was he seeing a ghost?
“Brother Yu, did your sister just disappear?” The boy next to him asked, bewildered.
Jiang Ze Yu shouted, “Shut up! Don’t you think I can see that? You think I don’t know?”
Before he could finish his thought, a heavy blow landed on him from behind.
Caught off guard, Jiang Ze Yu could not dodge the attack and fell to the ground.
A pair of white canvas shoes appeared in front of his eyes.
Jiang Yu looked up and met Jiang Yu’s cold eyes.
“I hit men.”
“Especially blind men.” She said slowly.
Chapter 2: Big Sister, I Am Jiang Wan
Jiang Ze Yu was speechless.
He was dumbfounded. He did not understand what had happened.
He had been beaten by his new found sister.
The pain in his butt told him that this wasn’t a dream.
His sister had a look of indifference on her face. The look on her face was different from what he expected from rumours of her.
“You’re not convinced?”
Jiang Ze Yu said in huff, “You caught me off guard. You ambushed me! If you have the guts, come straight at me!”
“Shall we do this tomorrow again then?”
Jiang Ze Yu said, “I’ve said this already, I don’t hit women.”
Jiany Yu said, “I’ve also said it. I hit men.”
Jiang Ze Yu thought, “This isn’t over.”
Sensing that the conversation was about to fall into pattern, Jiang Ze Yu got up off the ground and dusted himself off. “Do you know who I am?”
Jiang Yu frowned. Every time this happened, there would be a lot of pointless self-introductions. She did not have the patience to listen to him.
She tried to say tactfully, “I don’t really want to know.”
The other party should understand her, right?
Jiang Ze Yu was silent.
The guy beside him burst out laughing. “Brother Yu, isn’t your sister interesting?”
Jiang Ze Yu had an ugly expression on his face. Jiang Yu looked at the time and said, “I have something to attend to. I’ll leave now. I’ll arrange for a fight again tomorrow.”
Jiang Yu left in a hurry.
“Brother Yu, aren’t you going to chase after her?”
“No.” Jiang Ze Yu looked in the direction she disappeared. He cupped his chin and said lazily, “She should be heading back to the Jiang family. I don’t live with the Jiang family, why would I chase after her?”
When Jiang Yu exited the school gate, there was someone waiting outside.
A man stood beside a black car. He wore a suit and stood straight and tall. When he saw her, he greeted her politely, “Hello, Miss Jiang. I am Rong Qi, CEO Jiang’s assistant. I am here on CEO Jiang’s order to bring you back.”
Jiang Yu nodded and said, “I understand.”
Her eldest brother, Jiang Cheng Lang, was a well known nouveau riche in the business world. After his father had passed away, Jiang Cheng Lang had inherited the multibillion dollar family business at a young age. He was away on a business trip so he had sent his assistant to bring her back.
Jiang Yu had already heard from her adoptive mother on the phone that her luggage had been packed and loaded into the car. She could move into the Jiang family home straightaway after school today.
In the car, Rong Qi showed Jiang Yu a series of documents and explained, “Miss Jiang, your surname has been changed. Your household registration and legal guardian have also been changed. From today onwards, you are the eldest daughter of the Jiang family.”
When they arrived at the Jiang family manor, Rong Qi called the chauffeur to help with Jiang Yu’s luggage. He and the chauffeur lifted the luggage out of the trunk and placed it on the floor. He said, “Miss Jiang, you have only one piece of luggage but it is quite heavy…”
Before he could finish saying the word ‘heavy’, he watched as Jiang Yu easily lifted the luggage off the floor with one hand. Looking at her, you would think it weighed as light as a feather.
The words were written clearly across Jiang Yu’s face, “Is there a problem?”
Rong Qi, “No problem at all, sorry to bother you.”
Upon delivering Jiang Yu to the Jiang family home, his mission was complete.
As Rong Qi left, he pondered to himself. From his brief encounter with her, it seemed like Miss Jiang was not as described in the documents. Did he need to inform CEO Jiang about this?
Forget it. CEO Jiang has a lot of things to attend to every day so he would do well not to mention this.
Meanwhile, Jiang Yu gazed at the villa in front of her. It was exquisite and luxurious, with a total of four floors. There was a huge and beautiful garden outside the home. It was a different world from the old residential area of which the An family had come from.
As soon as she entered the villa, a maid came forward to help her with her things. “Young miss, young master has already designated the room on the third floor to be yours. I will bring you there.”
Jiang Yu waved her away, “Let me carry it, you can’t carry this.”
The maid was stunned. Miss Jiang, who had been lost for more than ten years, was indeed a very humble person.
“Is my sister home?”
A young girl ran down the stairs. She had on a lacy pink dress that barely reached her knees, revealing her long and straight calves.
The girl’s voice was clear and pleasant. She ran right up to Jiang Yu and cried out happily, her face full of joy, “Sister, I’ve been waiting for you! I’m Jiang Wan.”
Chapter 3: A Man
Mr and Mrs Jiang had a total of four sons and daughters. The youngest daughter, Jiang Yu, was lost when she was three years old.
When Mrs. Jiang passed away due to illness, Mr. Jiang took a second wife. His second wife was a single mother and that was how Jiang Wan came to be the youngest daughter.
Technically, Jiang Wan was her stepsister.
Just like the book’s description, Jiang Wan had an oval face, big eyes, a high nose, and small lips. She was a stunning beauty.
The dress she was wearing looked simple but it was clearly a high-end product. The fabric was of exquisite material and Jiang Wan looked elegant in it.
She was a famous person on the school campus. She has been the school Belle for the last three years. How could Jiang Yu ever compare to this princess in the eyes of the masses?
The moment Jiang Yu saw Jiang Wan from the stories, a sense of inferiority was triggered. She did not dare look up at Jiang Wan. On the other hand, Jiang Wan was kind and friendly. She didn’t put on any airs. From that moment on, Jiang Wan had broken down the walls of Jiang Yu’s heart.
At this present moment though, a new soul was residing in this body and it said calmly, “Jiang Yu.”
Jiang Wan was taken aback for a moment before she realized that Jiang Yu was talking to her. Jiang Yu had not even bothered to say a single word more. Jiang Wan decided not to ignore it and said, “Sister, let me help you with your things.”
“There’s no need.”
Jiang Yu hoisted up her luggage and turned to the maid beside her. “Take me to my room.”
“Sister, you are the eldest daughter of the Jiang family. You can leave this kind of menial work to the servant,” Jiang Wan said as she followed behind.
“Ok.”
Jiang Yu entered her room and thanked the maid before slamming the door shut.
Jiang Wan was expecting to follow Jiang Yu into the room, not expecting to almost be hit on the nose by Jiang Yu’s door.
She narrowed her eyes and the smile dropped from her face. She stood outside the door and said, “Big Sister, get cleaned up. I will send someone to call you for dinner later.”
“Alright.”
Jiang Yu flopped on the bed as soon as she entered her room.
Her father and stepmother had perished in a car accident. The Jiang family had left behind four children.
The four brothers did not get along well. Three of the brothers had moved out, thus only the eldest, Jiang Cheng Lang, and Jiang Wan, lived in the family mansion.
Dealing with stepsisters just wasn’t as comfortable as lying down.
Jiang Wan was rejected but there was no show of anger on her face. She turned around and headed down the stairs. Just then, her cell phone rang but Jiang Wan didn’t bother to answer it.
It wasn’t until she had reached the dining room and the maids had served dinner that the second call came. Jiang Wan picked up the phone.
“Big Brother.”
The person calling was Jiang Cheng Lang. He had not seen Jiang Yu in person yet, so he wanted to check up on the situation with Jiang Wan.
Jiang Wan replied, “Yes, Big Sister is already home. It’s just that… Sister appears to prefer being alone and doesn’t like me very much…”
“Yeah, she locked herself in her room the moment she arrived and didn’t want to come down to have dinner with me… It’s okay, I am fine. She has just returned. She’s not familiar with me, she is probably wary of strangers…”
“Don’t worry Big Brother. I am not angry. I will take good care of Big Sister.”
“A gift?”
“I think Big Sister just needs time to adapt to her new life. There’s no need to buy expensive gifts for her for the time being…”
Jiang Wan put down the phone.
She smiled and began to enjoy her dinner.
Back in the room, Jiang Yu was lying on the bed after having tidied up. She could hear the sound of winds from outside the window as she stared at the ceiling. At last, she got out of the bed and snuck out the window.
There was another family villa not far off, and it was decorated more extravagantly than the Jiang family villa. Jiang Yu landed quietly on a tree in the garden. From where she perched, she could see someone walking out of the neighbouring villa.
The first thing to come into view was a wheelchair, followed by a pair of man’s legs. They were straight and slender. The man had on a pair of dark gray suit pants which were devoid of creases.
The man raised his head.
His facial features looked like they had been carved out with a knife. The lines on his face were sharp and deep. The bridge of his nose was tall and straight. The shape of his lips were full and beautiful. The most magnetic part about his face though were his eyes. They were deepset and shined brightly, as if they contained the stars. However...
