"What lil nigga got you smiling at yo phone?" I heard my daddy ask causing me to look up, quickly locking my phone
"I was texting kinsley about an inside joke"
"Yeah Ight. I know you got a lil boyfriend and when I find out who he is ima beat his ass. Then tell yo brother so he can beat his ass too" he told me as he sat on the couch beside me
"Trust me you don't have to worry about none of that. The people at that school barely like me anyways" I laughed a little

"I'm not. The females love looking at me like I did something to them and these boys.. it's like they don't like you if you not stupid enough to let them play you like a fool"
"Well you let 'em act like that if they want to cause one thing I know for a fact is won't none of em touch you. I'll have that whole school shut down quick as hell. And don't worry bout none of them lame ass lil boys either. You too smart and pretty for them anyways. Plus that save me from going to jail for hurting somebody son bout my babygirl"
I laughed "you always ready to hurt somebody"

I made a face at him "I'm not kinsley. I don't live in this little imaginative world where I think my daddy is so perfect and does no wrong. I know NONE of y'all are saints. I know you probably caught more bodies than a cemetery. I know my momma used to be crazy and I know you used to get around"
When I said the last part his whole facial expression changed
"I ain ever got around"
"Daddy. You were very promiscuous. And I've heard from everybody but you. Even your own son said so"
"You love believing shit jr say. That boy been on that shit since he went off to school"
"My brother ain 100% right in the head but some stuff he don't lie about... I know how you used to be and that's why you so protective over me cause you don't want me to end up with somebody like the old you" I said with a nod "it's okay, I understand"
"Listen... I'm not proud at all for how I did y'all momma and I'll never have a good enough excuse for what I did. If I could go back in time and beat my own ass for how I did her, I would"
"Well from what I heard she did enough of that for you"
He kissed his teeth and I laughed
"I heard she had you in a headlock in front of everybody"
"Stop listening to Meechie corny ass. Yo momma ain did shit"

"But like I was saying.. I really don't want you to have to go through no shit like that. That's why I'm glad you act the way you do cause I know you already know what you want and you ain taking no shit from nobody"
"Of course. And y'all are the reason I'm like that" I told him which made him smile until I continued talking "I mean...that's what happens when you have to raise your parents AND your big brother"
"You swear you raising somebody" he pushed me upside the head while standing up
"But it's true. I'm the only adult in this family.. Jr lives all the way in another state and he calls me to ask about washing clothes, buying groceries and even taking medicine like he's not in medical school.. I even called to schedule his dentist appointment when he came home for thanksgiving break"
"Cause jr a whole grown ass man with the mind of a 12 year old. Ion know how him and Joie been together so long"
I just shrugged. That was all I could do because when I asked jr the exact same thing he told me entirely too much information
"We'll all I know is between y'all and him, y'all make me never wanna have kids"
"Good" my daddy smirked, walking off "kids only come in handy during tax time"
I shook my head as he left the living room and looked back down at my phone, texting Kyran back

"Kaleia I'm surprised you still down here and not upstairs with kinsley" I could hear my momma say as I walked in the kitchen. I was hoping the kitchen was empty cause I just wanted to get my food and go back to my room but that obviously wasn't gone happen now cause everybody was in here except kinsley
After hearing bout her and Kaleia getting into it yesterday I was surprised she was over here right now but I guess she wanted to get outta her daddy house that bad
"I'm just chillin down here auntie" she answered before looking back down at a Tik Tok on her phone, eating her food
"That means her and kinsley beefin' again" McKenna muttered, shaking her head
Before I could even walk past my momma she pushed a plate of food in my hand which made my daddy stop and look
"And you quick to say shit when I fix my daughters a plate but you still fixing Kyran food"
"Cause that's my baby" she replied and I smiled
"Kyran's a grown man. He's 18. I'm the 12 year old" McKenna pointed at herself "and you made me fix my own food"
"Well you might be 12 but you got the attitude of a grown woman so.."my momma said to McKenna and then looked at me "you even got haters in ya own house"
"They just wish they could be me.." I sighed
"Nigga you wanna be me" my daddy just had to say while he drunk from his cup "you look like me, talk like me, act like me... all you missing is Dimitri on yo birth certificate"
My momma rolled her eyes at him "Boy don't nobody wanna be you.. ignore yo jealous ass daddy. And tell kinsley to come downstairs when you go back up there"
Just as soon as I was about to turn off kinsley walked into the kitchen with a not so happy look
"Kinsley why you got Kaleia down here by herself?"
Kinsley and Kaleia exchanged glanced and kinsley frowned up her face while going to get her something to eat
"She can go home"
"Girl.." Kaleia started and my momma looked confused while my daddy nosey ass probably wanted to see what was gone happen.
No lie, I wasn't even bout to go back in my room now cause I knew some shit was probably gone happen knowing these two
"What the hell I missed?" My momma asked, crossing her arms "what y'all problem?"
"Nothing" Kaleia mumbled, looking at her food again
"All I said was she can go home. I didn't send for her so she can stay down here or go home if she lonely"
"Not y'all beefin. Y'all supposed to be best friends and cousins" my daddy looked at both of em
"Brielle is my best friend" kinsley corrected him while Kaleia shrugged
"Of course. And that's perfectly fine. You gotta try harder to hurt my feelings"
"I don't have to try.. I can just say one word and have to WHOLEEE chest hurting"
"And so can I" Kaleia told her
Kinsley sat her plate down looking at Kaleia
"Say it then"
"Why you put your plate down? What you supposed to do?" Kaleia stood up
"Why you standing up?"
"Ima need y'all to calm all that down. Y'all ain bout to fight in here" my momma moved in between them "I paid good money for my shit. Y'all ain bout to break it"
"Take it outside" McKenna instigated
"No! Nobody is fighting"
"Why not?"
"Cause I said no!" My momma told McKenna and my daddy leaned back on the counter while looking at both of em
"I say let 'em"
She cut her eyes at him
"No"
"Why not?" He leaned up "they family. Let em get that shit out now and hug and make up afterwards. That was you and lani problem when y'all was beefin. Y'all would've gotten over it sooner if y'all would've fought it out"
"Dimitri you can't be serious"
"I'm deadass" he told her while walking off "bring y'all two drama filled asses on"
Kinsley and Kaleia looked at each other before leaving the kitchen behind my daddy and McKenna wasted no time getting up.
I looked at my momma and she shook her head
"Your daddy is ghetto"
"So you don't wanna watch?" I asked her
"Of course ima watch" she picked my daddy's cup up, drinking from it while leaving the kitchen and I laughed while following her
I followed everybody to the backyard and sat on the steps with my plate, eating while my daddy was talking to them before he stepped out the way
"I got my next allowance on kinsley" McKenna told me with a smile
"I got fifty that says Issa tie. They both can fight"
"But my sister fights better"
"Lemme find out"
She laughed and we started watching as they started fighting
Of course kinsley ain waste no time throwing the first hit and after that, it was just a back and forth thing. One minute kinsley was getting the best of Kaleia and then it was the other way around cause like I said, both of em can fight so it wasn't gone be a winner. I guess they just bout to let this anger out and get shit over with
"I'm so glad you don't have a female cousin your age" my momma told McKenna "cause I can't deal with this shit again"
"This looks very ghetto"
My daddy watched close by making sure they didn't get too carried away meanwhile I was fuckin this food up. Good food and good entertainment. All I needed was a blunt and I would've been the happiest Nigga on earth
Once my daddy finally realized they fought enough he finally stepped in
"Alright now both of y'all chill out"
I stood up, giving my momma my plate and went to help separate them, grabbing kinsley while my daddy grabbed Kaleia and I pushed kinsley back a little
"You did yo shit twin" I dapped her up "now chill out. Both of y'all got good hits in"
"Alright both of y'all got it out now let whatever y'all got going on go" my daddy told them "now shake hands, hug it out or some"
Kinsley looked at Kaleia and she looked back at kinsley. Surprisingly they shook hands for only like a second and kinsley walked off going back in the house while McKenna laughed
"Both of y'all need to take y'all outta shape asses to the gym with Brielle" my daddy said while Kaleia went and sat over on the steps, putting her head in her hands and my momma shook her head
"Y'all gone have our neighbors thing we ghetto as hell" she mumbled, heading back in the house
