ALASTOR had led me to a more unpopulated area of the happy hotel. He kept a fast pace while walking, adding an unnecessary urgency to our situation.
"This should be good.." he mumbled to himself.
'Umm, what..?'
"So, Alastor..why are we here of all places to have our little 'talk'?" I inquired, shoving my hands in my pockets.
"First, my dear, call me Al, Like you used to. And the location isn't meaningful enough for you to worry about. So, don't." Al- Alastor quickly responded.
"Why should I call you that? It's not that I don't want to, it's just you don't deserve it." I said malice polluted every word. He jerked back, his smile contorted in pain or maybe shame, yet his grin never wavered. Those beautiful crimson openings crammed to the breaking point with guilt.
"M-mon amour, please..." his voice sounded even more guilty than his face looked.
"No! I'm not going to hear you out, and I am not letting you make me close between you and my friends again! Listen here Al, and you listen well. I am sick and tired of you trying to make me weak. I am not weak, and I never will be."
"M-my dear- please listen-"
"Okay! I'll admit it!" I cut him off. "It was a bad judgement call to trust you, that one is on me. But the fact that you even thought I was dumb enough to fall head over heels for you is just plain ludicrous. Is your ego so tremendously big that you thought you could manipulate me into loving you? Turn me into a little obedient weapon of mass destruction? Or just eradicate me to not have any more competition? If that's the case, it sounds like you're scared, radioman.
You're not just in hell for killing others. You're here because you're a self-centred asshat who cares about nobody but himself! Maybe you can love, but you, my good sir, are unlovable."
I finished my rant only to look up and see that Alastor wasn't smiling.
3rd person P.O.V
A deep frown was etched on his features, his eyes dulled and sorrowful. He was caught off guard by a shocked squeak that escaped the purple-haired cyclops beside him.
"Al... You're not smiling..?" her words were filled with pitty and instant regret.
True, he did try to get her to trust him so he could use her, but the feeling of trust was mutual between the two. That's why he sent the shadow to look after her while she slept.
Regret was heavy on the pair. (y/n) tried to reach out to him but the betrayal was enough to place a wedge in their bond.
late nights filled with deep conversations and heartfelt moments of cuddling, cooking, and cards had turned into tears, betrayal, and mistrust.
An unspoken agreement was made that day, to keep their distance, and to not speak of this night to anyone. Ever again.
One thought truly resonated with Alastor.
