Warning: Mentions and descriptions of BLOOD

***

3rd Person POV

= Alien Planet, Space =

She needed to make her way inside. She needed to get to Amelia Earhart, the alien that infected her. If what Brooklyn was theorizing was correct, then alien Amelia Earhart's blood was the answer to curing her infection. She could do it. She was smart. She could figure out a way to engineer an antidote from the alien's blood

Brooklyn jumps off the ground, using the spike in energy from hearing Maddie's heartbeat to knocks the knees out of the alien that had her in a choke hold

Dropping the last alien to the ground, Brooklyn stumbles forwards and rushes towards the hut. She makes her way to the door, not even bothering with the doorknob as she throws her shoulder into the wooden door and it splinters open

And there, laying dead on the floor, was alien Amelia Earhart

***

"No..." Brooklyn whispers, snapping out of her frozen state and running over to the alien's body on the ground. She throws herself to her knees, not even worried about the pain from the jagged floor that was cutting into her skin, and shakes the alien. "No, no, no, no!" She exclaims, shaking the alien's body

The only reason Brooklyn cared about the alien being dead was because she needed the alien's blood, not because she actually cared about alien Amelia Earhart

"Come on, you can't be dead!" Brooklyn exclaims through her teeth, smacking the alien's face over and over again as if she could smack the alien back to life. "You infected me you asshole!" She yells through her rage, her eyes filled with tears. "You're the only one that can cure me!" She yells, smacking the alien once again

But it was no use. The alien was dead. And with the infection spreading rapidly, the purple veins making their way to Brooklyn's eyes, she too would soon be dead

"This can't be it..." Brooklyn whispers through tears, slumping over the alien's dead body with her forehead resting on the alien's shoulder. "...this can't be it..." She whispers desperately. And once again, she is reminded of everything that she has gone through, the hell that she has been through. And the fact that she has done too much, come too far, for it to be over now. She needed to think. She needed to clear her head and do what she does best: find a solution to the problem

And, with her forehead touching the skin of the alien's shoulder, Brooklyn does just that: finds a solution. Brooklyn lifts her head slightly, looking down at the alien's body and wiping her tears. When her forehead was pressed to the alien's skin, she felt warmth. And if the alien's body was still warm, that meant one crucial thing: the blood was still viable. The alien was killed moments before Brooklyn got there. And if the blood was still viable, she had to act quickly

Brooklyn jumps up from the floor, stumbling with dizziness, and rushes to the table where Amelia Earhart had kept her belongings. Brooklyn studied this place the first time that she was here with Sara and Gary. It's one of the things that she always did in a new situation: studied and memorized the area she was in, looking for any and all possible exits if anything went wrong as well as memorizing what was in the place should she need a weapon

And memorizing this place sure came in handy. She didn't know anything about why Amelia Earhart had certain belongings but she did know that within those belongings on the table was a small glass vial. A small glass empty vial. And she could use that

Brooklyn grabs the vial along with a dagger and then makes her way back to the alien's body on the floor. She opens the vial and looks down at the alien. Knowing about human anatomy, she hopes that aliens are relatively the same, she uses the dagger to slice into the alien's neck

Blood begins to squirt from the alien's neck (and Brooklyn was right in cutting the jugular), and squirts all over Brooklyn. Brooklyn shields her eyes and tries her best to get the blood into the vial

With her hands covered in blood as well as splatter marks on her bare belly and clothes, Brooklyn closes the vial. She stands, running her hands and the vial under a drip of water coming from the wall. It did nothing to clean her hands but it cleaned the vial off. Brooklyn dries the vial with her jacket and looks to the table once again, hoping for a syringe of some kind

But there was no syringe

And then, a laser blast hits the hut, and Brooklyn drops to the floor. She clutches the vial in hand as more lasers sound from outside. Alien soldiers had found her yet again

She looks for somewhere to hide the vial of blood, knowing that she needed to make a run for it. Having it in her pocket would do no good. And she needed her hands for fighting.

Keeping the vial in her mouth was going to do her no good either. One hit to the face and the precious alien blood that could cure her would be gone in an instant, shattering in her mouth. She couldn't just keep the vial in her cheek. She needed to do more

Brooklyn holds the vial in front of her, looking at the blood within the glass that was probably an inch tall. She closes her eyes and shoves the vial in her mouth once again. Using her tongue, Brooklyn manages to toss the vial into the back of her mouth and down her throat

Brooklyn catches her breath and opens her eyes. She knew what she needed to do. She knew how to get the glass vial out of her stomach. But she needed to act fast. She was now on a time limit

Throwing the door open, Brooklyn rushes through the dozen alien soldiers on the planet and makes her way to the forest. The same forest that Brooklyn had spent the most time in. The place that would give her the most high ground, the biggest advantage

Stumbling through the forest with the alien soldiers rushing to follow her, she continues to run as fast as she can while being delirious from the infection. She tries to put as much space between herself and the alien soldiers as she can. Brooklyn had always had that advantage: she was fast and she was small. She could slip through things, slip through narrow areas, with ease while others had to figure out a way around. She was also quick, able to outrun many of the Legends on her team -- having learned from racing Oliver every weekend, working on fundamentals, skills, and techniques to be faster, to go further -- and this gave her the advantage  over the alien soldiers

Brooklyn continues to weave her way through the forest, putting as much distance as she can between the alien soldiers and herself

She needed to find a hiding spot. And quick. The infection was beginning to win and black spots were dancing across her vision. She was going to pass out. She needed to find some cover. And her thoughts were answered when the terrain changed. This time, it wasn't a desert she crossed into, it was a terrain filled with mountains and boulders everywhere. She climbs up, doing her best to stay conscious, and throws herself over a boulder and down into a slit in the ground

The moment her head hit the stone, she passed out

= Alien Planet, Space =

Brooklyn came to a moment later, even her body knew that she couldn't waste any time on this. Wherever she was, it was obvious that it was a good hiding spot because she couldn't hear any more lasers being blasted at her

Brooklyn breathes out in relief and with the limited light shining into the slit, she looks around the area. She was in a small cave of some sort. And she would do more to memorize the area another time. But right now, she was on a time crunch

Sticking her fingers down her throat, Brooklyn throws up the contents of her stomach. And with all the watery vomit, the vial of alien blood falls to the ground. Brooklyn grabs the vial off the ground, breathing heavily and catching her breath

Injecting this vial of blood into her was going to be a lot harder without a syringe. Brooklyn's foggy mind was getting slower as she looks around the area, looking for anything sharp

And then, she remembers the dagger. She looks around and sees the dagger had fallen to the ground not too far away from her. She pulls it close to her

"Alright, alright, alright, you can do this, you can do this." Brooklyn breathes heavily, unwrapping the point of infection on her arm. It looked bad. Not just alien infected but regular infected too. She takes a deep breath, steadying her stomach and reminding herself that she has dealt with worse, she had seen worse

With another breath, Brooklyn slices the dagger into her arm, slicing once again into the infected wound. She groans through her teeth, groaning in pain as tears prick her eyes. She swipes at her eyes with her shoulder, needing to have clear vision in order to do this. She slices deeper into her arm, blood spurting from the spot

She leaves the dagger in her arm, opening the wound up. She grabs the vial and opens it up with her teeth, spitting the top away from her. With a quick breath to steady herself and the black spots in her vision, Brooklyn jams the vial into her wound and presses down hard, making sure that the alien blood would settle in her own bloodstream

And it worked. The blood emptied out of the vial and into her wound. Brooklyn quickly pulls the dagger out of the wound and presses her shirt back over the wound, pressing hard in order to stop the bleeding

And with the alien blood now in her system, Brooklyn had cured herself, the purple veins slowly beginning to recede and her foggy mind was clearing. One problem down. And now, with her mind clearing, she was able to focus on the next problem at hand, the next mission that she needed to go on...

Where the hell is Sara Lance?
