Ever since I found out Jenna was my mate and kinda rejected her, my wolf, Ace, has done nothing but insult me.
"Why wouldn't I bastard?!"
Today's the day we go meet her family, obviously to talk about the real rejection, but they've been real quiet.
"She probably ran away because of you!"
"Would you shut up?"
"No! Until you realize how stupid you are for rejecting her, shifting will never be an option."
Ugh. Sadly, now I have to find a Luna to rule with me or else I won't be alpha in two years.
A knock appeared on my door.
"Come in,"
And Jessica stepped in, swaying her hips.
"Hi alpha!" she said innocently.
"What do you want Jessica?"
"Just call me Jess, and you know exactly what I want."
I rolled my eyes. She just wanted to mate with me and snatch the Luna position.
She started trailing her fingers down my chest. And almost sat on my lap but I pushed her off. I stood up once she fell on the floor.
"What the fuck is wrong with you Jessica?!"
She whimpered, "I could be the perfect mate."
"Don't you know I already have one?!" I blurted out.
She looked at me with wide eyes. Great, this bitch made me say something I wasn't supposed to.
"What?" She asked, staring.
"Get out."
"What?" She repeated.
"Do I need to say it in Latin?"
She ran out of the room and slammed the door behind her. I can't believe her brother is my best friend. He 100% deserves a less bratty sister.
An Hour Later
I walked over to Jenna's house. The family were offered to live in the pack house with separate rooms, still confusing why they declined. Maybe that certain house was special?
My family were already at their door waiting for me.
Once I was near them, they knocked on the door and Jenna's brother, Alex, answered.
"Ah, Alex. Good afternoon," my father said.
I noticed the boy was trembling and looked frightened. He'd probably got scared by father's aura.
Alex replied, "G-good..afternoon sir."
He moved to the side and let my family in. I expected my mate's sweet scent to fill my nose, but there were only faint smells of her, like her remains.
"Where's Jenna?" I asked.
The boy acted like he didn't hear me.
"Where is Jenna?" I repeated.
"She..uh..she's-"
"Gone."
I looked to where the voice came from and it was her mother. She had red puffy eyes, she looked like she had been crying.
"What do you mean..gone?" my mother inquired.
"She..ran away." her mother said.
A low growl came from me, which came from Ace of course.
"You'll have to mate with another she-wolf soon then. We don't want the mate bond affecting you, now do we?" my mother told me.
"I will not mate with some random bitch who is not my mate!"
"Well you'll have to deal with it."
Ace growled and I cut off our link.
"We will have a test for all she-wolves to attend," stated my father. "The strongest she-wolf will be your luna, it will be held in two months."
I could feel my wolf trying to take over, I pushed him down but he still prevailed. Instead of hurting anyone, Ace just stormed out, once he was outside, he shifted and went for a run.
I wonder how Jenna's doing, I thought.
Jenna's POV:
"Hey, isn't today the day where I'd have a meeting with my mate?"
"Oh yeah, it is."
I was currently in a sports bra and shorts, fighting a robot machine in a room.
The girl I bumped into, also known as Kate, knew how to make fighting machines and make them smart and realistic. Yet she didn't look like a nerd. She said that this room was given to her by the alpha. One half of it was a training area, the rest was, well...an extreme torture area.
"Well she does like gore, doesn't she?"
"I knew I was right."
She never let me in. She said until I knew her for a month, I could explore that area as I pleased.
I asked around about the woman and she was known as 'The Woman Of Slaughter' since that name passed down in her family. You just had to call her name and she'd be there to kill. Surpising for a nine-year-old huh? Her family was even stronger than the alpha king, but they like to stay hidden.
"Jen!" Kate called from behind the door, "Your time is up, it's my turn!"
I walked out of the room and closed the door. Now this girl was cool!
"I see you've met Kate?"
I turned around and my face met Asher's.
"Yeah. She's so cool!" I said.
He laughed, "Well, every newcomer thinks that. She never really lets anyone in her room. You must be special."
Special? Wait does she-
"Of course I know!"
"Kate!?"
"This is one of my many powers. I know you can mind-read."
"Someone found out?" Asher said.
"That she can speak in minds?"
"Mhm. She knows everyone's secrets. She doesn't expose them unless she needs to."
"I have to get going now," Asher continued. "but just know I'll be at your door tomorrow.
And with that he left.
Kate's POV:
That girl really is something else. She did leave a few strands of hair. Maybe I could... well it's worth a try.
I placed Jenna's hair in my palm, and to my surprise it worked.
Flashback
"H..hello." Jenna stuttered.
"You're my mate? A weak omega?"
"Yep.." the girl could feel my legs trembling.
"Get out of my sight."
"W-what?" She stuttered again.
"Get. Out. Of. My. Sight."
"I don't understand?"
"What don't you understand? I cant have an omega as my Luna! It would be an absolute disgrace to the pack!" Her mate shouted, shattering the girl's heart to bits.
End of Flasback
So she left her pack because of her mate, huh? That sounds like the Blood Moon Pack's alpha-to-be. What a tragic day, it was most likely her birthday too. An omega cant handle the pain of seeing their mate with another she-wolf or seeing their mate after rejection. Somehow I feel a bit bad, that's new.
I'm not sure if they rejected each other or not, but I'm certain on one thing.
I have to protect Jenna from her.
