"Charlotte? Are you awake?" Charlotte heard her Mum's voice say through the door.
"Why is this door locked? Charlotte, we need to leave!" Charlotte opened her eyes, feeling an arm around her. She was confused before remembering that Draco had come in.
"Charlotte?"
"Just one second Mum! I'll be out in a second!" Charlotte yelled, her heart beating so fast it felt like it would explode, as she started shaking Draco awake.
"Charlotte, I need to grab something from your room! Can you please open the door?" Lily said.
"One second!"
"Draco wake up, we slept in, my mum is outside my door," Charlotte whispered to him, as he stirred.
"Draco, come on. Please wake up." She whispered, shaking him harder. He opened his eyes, confused.
"What?"
"She's outside my door-"
"Is Charlotte awake?" She heard her dad say. Draco jumped out of the bed, looking for his shirt.
"Where is my shirt?"
"No time! Just hide under the bed!" Charlotte whispered. Draco crawled under Charlotte's bed before Charlotte ran to the door.
"Sorry, Mum. I was um- "She said after Charlotte opened the door.
"Doesn't matter. Have you packed? I brought you some extra clothes. You needed new underwear, yes?" Charlotte was not paying attention to anything Lily was saying, as she saw Draco's shirt on the floor, and his jacket and shoes by the window.
"Yes-yes." Lily put Charlotte's clothes on her bed. Draco put a hand over his mouth, trying to not make noise.
"Charlotte, are you okay? You look pale?" Her mother asked, coming to put a hand on Charlotte's forehead.
"You're not warm, and why are you bruised on your neck?"
"I am? Oh, that's right, I am... Fred and George's joke shop items have stained my neck." She muttered as Lily looked around Charlotte's room.
"Charlotte, your room is messy. Why are there clothes all over the ground?" She said, walking around, before Lily bent down and picked up Draco's shirt, knocking over Charlotte's clothes in the process.
"I'll get it!" Charlotte said, jumping over to the bed. Lily looked at her strangely as they both bent down to grab the clothes. Charlotte was shaking as she picked up the clothes and watched her mother lean down and look under her bed.
Draco froze as he made eye contact with Lily Potter, whose eyes widen, and her mouth fell open in shock.
"Charlotte..." Her mother said,
"Y-yes?" Charlotte asked, her voice shaking.
"Why is Draco Malfoy under your bed?"
"He is? I had no clue." Charlotte said as Lily stood up.
"Draco comes out," Lily said. Draco hesitated before crawling out under the bed and sitting up.
"Mum! It's not what it looks like!" Charlotte said quickly.
"It looks like Draco is in your room without a shirt on," Lily said in a stern tone, throwing Draco his shirt. He quickly put it on, sitting down next to Charlotte on the bed, both staring at the ground.
"I-well, yes, that's true."
"Lily, did you get Charlotte up? We have to leave in- "James stopped walking, frozen as he spotted Draco on Charlotte's bed.
"You-you-what are you doing here?" James shouted, storming into the room. Draco's fingers twitched, wanting to jump out the window instead of facing James.
"I found him under Charlotte's bed," Lily said.
"WHAT!"
"I-you-you are dead- "Lily grabbed James before he could grab his wand.
"Dad! He's my boyfriend. You can't hurt him!" Charlotte shouted.
"Boyfriend?" Harry shouted from the door. He had run upstairs after hearing shouting, thinking something horrible had happened.
"This can't get any worse, can it?" Draco whispered to Charlotte.
"Stop whispering to each other!"
"Draco, how did you get here? Do your parents know you left the house?" Lily asked.
"I took the knight bus. My parents haven't noticed that I'm gone."
"You snuck here? Why?"
"I needed to see her," Draco whispered. James was shaking with rage.
"You two can't be together! You have to break up now!" Harry shouted,
"Who are you to tell me if I should break up with my girlfriend or not?" Draco yelled, standing up.
"She's my sister! I won't let her date you, a Malfoy!"
"Harry enough! They are not breaking up if they chose not." Lily said.
"James, can I talk to you outside please!" Lily said, pulling him out of the room. His eyes never left Charlotte's and Draco's as they left.
"How are you so calm? Our daughter had a boy in her room all night without us knowing!" James said.
"Of course, I think that she was wrong for that, and she's going to be punished, but you and Harry can't force them to break up! That's not right!" Lily said,
"Isn't she a little young for a boyfriend, anyway?"
"She's fifteen!"
"We've only had her in our house for two and a half years now! The last time we saw her, she was barely able to speak, and the next time she was a teenager! It's just not fair!" James said, staring at the ground.
"I know it's not, but we also can't let her not grow up. I mean, even Ginny Weasley is dating, and she's younger than Charlotte!"
"Oh, but does it have to be a Malfoy?" James asked, frowning.
"We will support her choice in whoever she chooses to date! And it's not like we didn't see this coming. They've liked each other for a while."
"Fine. I'll be nice."
"Now, go in there, and ask Draco how he's getting home, and be nice!" Lily said, pointing at Charlotte's door.
"I will try. I have to keep my mean father's image up." James chuckled as they walked back into Charlotte's room.
"Draco, we would invite you to stay for the rest of the day, but since your parents don't know you're here, that wouldn't be okay. So, how are you getting home?"
"I'm going to go on the Knight Bus."
"Do you want us to call your sister instead?"
"No. I'm going to go home alone. I can leave now." Draco said, standing up.
"Wonderful, something we can all agree on," James said. He grabbed Draco by the arm. Lily shot him a look.
"And of course, we would love to have you over for dinner sometime." He added.
"Um... thank you."
"I'll walk you out!" Charlotte said as Draco grabbed his jacket and shoes. Charlotte grabbed Draco's arm, and they both ran downstairs.
"I should have woken up earlier. Know I got you in trouble," Draco said. Charlotte shrugged.
"It's okay. I'll deal with my parents...and Harry."
"At least they found out," Draco said,
"Yeah, but we don't have to tell everyone. I know you're okay with it, but we can wait."
"You mean that?" Draco said, grinning.
"Yes, know you should go before they all come downstairs," Charlotte said. Draco nodded.
"I'll see you at Hogwarts." Draco leaned down and kissed her quickly before she opened the door, and he ran out. She smiled at him as Draco turned around and waved goodbye before turning the corner.
"Charlotte, you're still in a lot of trouble!" James yelled from the stairs.
"Yes, Dad I know!"
