When There Is Conflict, There Are Two

This kingdom full of cookies was always in conflict with each other, there were things that everyone agreed upon, whilst others denied thinking the same way. This sort of thing sometimes led to war, which was something not a lot of cookies agreed with. It was a conflict that made every cookie scared deep in their dough. The cookie kingdom of Earthbread was full of good and bad cookies combined; some are more nice, and others... more cruel.

This was something that was true... Dark Enchantress Cookie always wanted to have conflicts between the Vanilla Kingdom and the Mountains. She wanted them to be in peril. What else could she desperately want?

To succeed.

This... this was her plan to take control of Earthbread, even if it was one of the more cruel plans she had up her sleeve. However, this plan was found out by two generals of either side of Earthbread: one from the Vanilla Kingdom and one from the Mountains.

This led to a rivalry between the two generals. They didn't have anything against each other, it was just the fact that the two places were supposed rivals of all of Earthbread. The rumors about their rivalry being more than just a rivalry led to an uproar in both the Vanilla Kingdom and in the Mountains. Whatever for?

Cookies just wanted to know if their rivalry was true, or if this was all staged.. It wasn't likely just something cookies would make up. If a cookie hated another, they would be honest about it. The question was, why were they gossiped about so much?

No cookie really knew why they were bringing this up when a war was bound to dawn upon them within a few days, or even at sunrise. Not only did they spread gossip about the two generals, but they also spread some about why they were rivals, relating to the Vanilla Kingdom and the Mountains.

What no cookie knew is that it was just the relationship between the two generals' that led to their rivalry, as well as it being the fact the two places on Earthbread were normally against one another. It definitely would get every cookie's attention if they found out about this.

When it actually came to the two generals–Crunchy Chip Cookie and Red Velvet Cookie–they were only rivals because of the relations with their homes on Earthbread; nothing more, nothing less. The rumors even got to them... and they were not happy when they caught word of it.

War was not something cookies should worry about other than the people who are supposed to handle it.

What exactly was Dark Enchantress Cookie planning? No cookie actually knew what she was thinking in that jam brain of hers. Maybe it was all so she could take over control of Earthbread. Maybe it was so she could get revenge on Red Velvet for leaving the dark cookies behind. She considered that betrayal and this was the only way she thought of.

Get him involved in a war that he never asked for or wanted. Just something to pester him a little to the point he'll come crawling back to her. Oh, how she hoped for this to be a success.

Causing an apocalypse on Earthbread. That will surely do it, won't it?

This apocalypse will be filled with so much malice, that they'll never see it coming.

The generals both had their own headquarters. Red Velvet's was in the Vanilla Kingdom, while Crunchy Chip's was in the Mountains. One was more of a clean-freak with a soft side for Cakehounds and the other... a stern, messy general who just wanted most of his army to be independent.

General Red Velvet's room was quiet and a little cold, but it was clean. He couldn't stand messy places, they drove him mad. This is why he had a specified bin for everything: trash, dirty clothes, clean clothes and uniforms, and Chiffon's toys, along with one for random things that he considered choking hazards for his beloved Chiffon. He did not want his Cakehound to get into harm's way, which was why he went through all this effort. That... and messy cookies were not responsible, in his opinion.

In the corner of the room, by the vanity he was sitting at, was Chiffon's fancy pillow bed. It was red with gold ropes and tassels embroidering the sides. Next to the pillow sat one of Chiffon's favorite toys: a star jelly that Chiffon liked to bat around with his paws.

Red Velvet continued to sit at the vanity, combing through his hair with a comb that one of his closest soldier pals had given him. It belonged to Eclair, but it was a gift from him. Did he remember when he received it? Not really. It was a really nice comb, he had to admit. Everything about it just made him feel like he didn't deserve such a gift, but he was grateful for it anyway.

He was now staring into the mirror, looking at his perfectly made bed with red sheets and a black blanket, as well as matching pillows, which he could see from the angle the mirror from the vanity was at. He soon set down the comb he used to go through his hair for the night. He always did this before bed so it wouldn't get messy. He liked his hair a certain way and didn't want to present as if he didn't care to make the part of being his army's general. The way he did his hair showed he was orderly, punctual, and intelligent.

He was so distracted by the perfectly made bed in the mirror, smile plastered on his face, that he had forgotten all about his glasses... maybe up until bedtime he would, because he always does... after all, this was something new to him–something from a few days ago.

Maybe I should stop wearing them all day and instead wear them only when I need them...

He took his glasses off and placed them down on the vanity. He then rose from the chair at the vanity and went over to Chiffon, kneeling down and stretching out his hand, patting Chiffon lightly on his whipped cream head.

After that, he slowly strode over to his bed and sat down on the edge. He felt nerves overtake him, but to ignore them, he slowly plopped backwards on the mattress, his hair sprawling out when he did. He let out a breathy sigh to try and ease the nervousness, but more and more thoughts flooded his mind.

Will this war actually happen tomorrow? It would be a pain if I actually had to do something, but... maybe it won't be so bad... as long as Chiffon will be okay alone for the day... or however long...

His worries always took over first. He didn't like showing weakness, it felt wrong of a general to show weakness...was he overthinking? He had no idea. He just wanted to be strong for the army, and that was what he was going to do.

He sighed once more, shutting his eyes to try and make it easier to focus on different thoughts. Maybe he shouldn't be worrying so much. He needed to be immersed in what their strategy should be, but he was nowhere near ready for that.

He couldn't find it in him to calm down without his favorite Cakehound, so he sat up again, opened his eyes and patted the edge of the bed to call for Chiffon, "C'mere boy!"
In response, a small yip came from the Cakehound. A tail wag and a few paces later, he hopped up beside Red Velvet and snuggled up to his lap.

He soon scooted back against the pillows, placing Chiffon on the blankets beside him and slipping his legs underneath the blanket, laying down. Soon after, Chiffon hopped up and curled on his chest, making the general smile and a little drowsy. Chiffon was always the best medicine when it came to his stresses and anxieties. He sighed softly, placing a hand on Chiffon's head, with Chiffon wagging his whipped cream tail in return. Red Velvet slowly stroked Chiffon's head now, feeling himself slowly start to fall asleep.

Thanks, Chiffon. You're the best.

Even though it was late, Crunchy Chip was pacing his room, which was a mess. Clothes and papers strewn about the room, toys for his Cream Wolf, Mousse, torn up to shreds, nothing where it was supposed to be–except for that one thing that Crunchy Chip always kept track of–and an extremely messy, unmade bed waiting for him. On top of the messy bed was Mousse, in a deep sleep, grumbling happily.

Crunchy Chip has always believed cleaning was unnecessary when one was busy with other things; there were always other things to do, like figuring out strategies, making sure everyone was well-trained for battle, and so on. He didn't think that the nitpicky cookies were annoying, per se, he just wasn't one of them. He respected other cookies that were cleaner and neater than him, but didn't necessarily understand why they were like that.

He also didn't have a specific sleep schedule, but he wanted to make sure he got his sleep tonight, because what if that war that was spoken of actually happened tomorrow? No one knew for sure if it was going to happen, but Crunchy Chip wanted to be prepared for the worst. While he was messy, he was always prepared for anything.

Being prepared always helped him not worry as much as others would about something like war. Knowing he was ready put him at ease, but only slightly. He still couldn't help but to wonder, every time, if this was the end of Earthbread as he knows it.

There was one thing that always cheered him up, and that was looking over to Mousse, who was still sleeping peacefully on his bed. Mousse had turned himself onto his side now, his tail thumping on the mattress and paws twitching a bit in his sleep. Crunchy Chip wondered what he was dreaming about... Probably chasing other Cream Wolves around. That, or maybe the Cakehounds.
He would never really know.

Seeing Mousse sleeping also made him sleepy, maybe it was time he went to sleep, too? With that said, he strode over to the bed slowly, before he sat on the edge and scooted close to Mousse, giving a light pat to the side of his head before getting under the covers. It didn't take long for Crunchy Chip to fall asleep.

Normally it would take him ages to fall asleep, but with the radiating warmth coming from his beloved Cream Wolf, he was actually able to go to sleep faster.

When you are at my side, Mousse... I feel like I'm stronger... I'll be ready for anything that comes my way in the dawn!
