THE GREAT HALL:

The dreary weather juxtaposed the cheery atmosphere on the grounds of Hogwarts.

The majority of the students sat in the great hall, watching in anticipation as the 7th years put their names in the Goblet of Fire.

Artemis and Draco were in attendance, whereas Theo, Daphne and Blaise were in Mente Striae.

Artemis thought that taking part in the Triwizard tournament was foolish as well as brave.

She believed that they might as well be signing up to die and who wants to die young?

For the past month, everything had been plain sailing, but the Seramore witch thought it was the calm before the storm, after all, last year turned out so horrific, so she tried to have a  little hope for this year.

She tried being optimistic, but it was just so bloody hard.

Her relationship with Draco continued to blossom, so if everything was going right for her, how comes she felt something bad was going to happen?

"Come on Cedric! Put it in!"

Hufflepuffs kept cheering for their friend, happy and excited to see him stroll up to the goblet.

Cedric dropped the parchment that had his name written on it, into the goblet, successfully walking over the age line as he did so.

Artemis clapped along with the rest of his house, he turned around, the green-eyed boy shot her a smile, ignoring the glare he received from Draco.

She then spotted Alana and the Jones brothers, who waved at her ecstatically.

Iziah offered the Seramore witch a tight-lipped smile after noticing her hands interlinked with her boyfriend's.

Artemis still hadn't spoken to him, nor was she planning to, but she wasn't going to ignore him. Their friendship, if she could call it that, was odd and she didn't have the time to decipher it anytime soon.

"Bloody Halfbloods" Draco mumbled under his breath, forgetting how close his girlfriend was sitting to him.

She elbowed his stomach, side eying him as he groaned, "Your aunts are dating Halfbloods." She reminded him.

Before turning into bloodsuckers a thousand years ago, Artemis discovered that the Mikaelsons tapped into their magic at a very early age before having it stripped from them.

She felt a small level of sympathy for them, not that she would say it aloud. She didn't know what she would do if she wasn't a witch.

Good thing she wouldn't be in that situation.

Draco rolled his eyes, "Hopefully not for long."

"Yeah," Artemis nodded in agreement, not siding with his blood purity, but with her disdain for her mother and aunt's choice of men, "hopefully not for long,"

He grinned and pressed a kiss to her cheek, she playfully rolled her eyes and he pulled her closer.

The loud cheering was cut off as the Weasley twins ran in, going over to the golden trio.

Draco snaked his arm around his girlfriend's waist, "If you could would you put your name in?"

"Merlin no." she laughed and he raised a brow.

"Why?"

"Because I value my life," she said in a matter-of-fact tone.

His eyes shone with amusement, "And Hogwarts is the place where souls come to die." he said mockingly.

"And students" she added dramatically, making them both laugh, "but im hoping that doesn't happen this year."

"I'll protect you, you know," he said seriously, all humour left his voice, she snapped her head towards him as an adoring smile grazed her lips.

"I know," she nodded, "I'll protect you as well."

He pulled her in for a chaste kiss, they ignored all the groaning and gagging from their housemates.

As they pulled away, they watched as the Weasley twins made their way over to the Age line, with two viles in their hands.

"Ready Fred?"

"Ready George!"

"Bottoms up!" They said in unison and jumped passed the Age Line that was placed by Dumbledore.

"Ready?" they ask one another as they both put their names in the Goblet, resulting in cheers from around the room.

Most Slytherin students were shocked that their plan worked, but their reaction was cut off as the twins were knocked back by the lively blue fire.

As they started to sit up, their fiery red hair faded and turned white as well as their eyebrows.

Thick beards that would put Dumbledores to shame grew on their chins.

"That's what being supposedly brave gets you," Draco said cynically, through his laughter, the rest of his peers joined in.

"If only the others were here to see it," Artemis added, face palming at their terrible plan.

The twins turned to each other, "You said!"

"You said!"

They yelled as they start fighting and rolling on the floor, the whole room began chanting and cheering, they didn't care who won, they just basked in the entertainment.

It took a few Gryffindors to break them apart and escort them out of the room, allowing more 7th years to nominate themselves.

The room quieted down when Viktor Krum and his headmaster Igor Karkaroff strolled in rather confidently.

Artemis and Draco both rolled their eyes, the latter's anger was boiling as he thought back to the many times Viktor had tried flirting with his girlfriend over the last month.

That was until Artemis set fire to the Bulgarian's overcoat, which he finally took as a sign to back off.

Viktor's presence caused the room to be engulfed with silence as he made his way over to the goblet, sharing a small smile with Hermoine.

As he turned to leave, he glanced at the Seramore witch, who couldn't seem more disinterested if she tried.

"Maybe setting him on fire will let him know you're taken," Draco gritted out.

"Don't worry, he seems to like Granger now,"

"What will Theo think about that?" he asked, still disgusted that the two even had a 'relationship'.

"He won't care, but she still stares at him during DADA," she informed him.

"Disgusting."

"Agreed.

***

A few hours later, everyone surrounded their house tables, waiting for the announcement of who was going to be competing in the Triwizard Tournament.

Artemis wondered who the three champions would be as she sat with her group as they watched when Dumbledore started speaking.

"Now the moment you've all been waiting for, the champion selection," Dumbledore dimmed the lights with his hand, feeding everyone's suspense.

"Wanna bet who it's gonna be?" Draco asked his girlfriend, who shook her head with a smile.

"Are you sure you want to bet because you have an awful track history with that darling?" she poked his cheek and he playfully swatted her hand away.

"I lost one time."

Theo chortled, "5 times." he interrupted, making Blaise and Daphne laugh quietly.

Truthfully, the couple didn't even want to be there, they rather spend time together but not Draco dragged them out of Mente Striae and forced them to come.

Draco scoffed, "Yeah yeah."

They all turned when the goblet glowed bright pink before it spat out a small piece of paper.

Daphne's eyes didn't leave it, finding the shiny object, very enticing. Blaise had to pull her back, noticing that she was about to walk over to it. "I'll get you some diamonds for Christmas if you sit down," he promised and she complied with a grin, "good girl," her cheeks flushed and she stayed silent.

"The Durmstrang Champion. Viktor Krum!" Dumbledore yelled happily. Cheers erupted, mainly from the Slytherin table, where the Durmstrang students sat.

"I'm so surprised." sarcasm dripped from Theo's tone, causing his friends to laugh. He then flipped a couple of Durmstrang students who glared at him.

Another paper flew out, appearing slightly different this time. More flimsy, trimmed and fancy.

Everyone immediately assumed it belonged to a Beauxbaton student.

"The champion for Beauxbatons...is Fleur Delacour!" Dumbledore announced, merrily, resulting in more applause and more cheering, congratulating the girl.

"She's fit," Theo commented with a sly grin.

"Not as pretty as you," Draco and Blaise said simultaneously, looking directly at their girlfriends, the four of them laughed.

"I need new friends," Theo muttered, then the boys exchanged a look and tickled his sides, "I'll kill you all."

"Shut up and listen," Blaise nudged him, they all turned back to Dumbledore.

He held up the last piece of paper, ready to announce the Hogwarts champion.

"The Hogwarts champion... Cedric Diggory!"

Many students cheered. Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws, Gryffindors as well as a few Slytherins, including Blaise, Artemis, Daphne and Theo.

Draco remained silent and annoyed.

Although the Seramore witch was happy for her friend, she couldn't help but feel scared for him, she tried not to let the emotion get to her but, it pulled at her nerves.

"Excellent! We now have our three champions!" Dumbledore exclaimed clasping his hands together, "But in the end, only one will go down in history. Only one will hoist this chalice of champions, this vessel of victory: The Triwizard Cup!" Dumbledore pointed to the front, where a glowing bright blue trophy sat.

Suddenly the goblet glowed pink once more, startling the room.

It was brighter than all the others, a piece of paper flew out and danced around in blue light before it fell into the Hogwarts headmaster's hand.

The whole room went silent as he read out the name.

"Harry Potter," Dumbledore mumbled to himself, before he repeated louder, "Harry Potter!"

All eyes went onto the chosen one, anger, irritation and jealousy all morphed into one as students glared at the boy.

"We can't one year without him being the centre of attention," Theo whispered annoyedly and placed his head in his hands.

Daphne hummed in agreement, "Main character syndrome."

"I know right." Blaise nodded along.

Draco glowered at Harry, when he started walking down the middle of the hall, nerve-wracked and confused. But Artemis was focusing on the unnerving stare Moody sent Harry.

"Cheat."

"He's not even seventeen yet!"

"Gryffindor bloody privilege," students whispered until Dumbledore calmly handed him the little paper.

"He's not stupid enough to put his name inside the goblet," Artemis said in a hushed tone.

Draco stared at her in disbelief, "Have you seen his hair this year? Yes, he is."

"Dr-"

"Bloody stupid."

Blaise placed his hand on his godbrother's shoulder, "Calm down, stop acting like he killed your cat."

"I hate him."

"We know." they all said in unison.

Thursday, November 12th:

Artemis knew that Draco's hatred towards Harry was strong, but she didn't realise how strong.

According to Crabbe and Goyle, her dear old boyfriend, with their assistance gave the gossiping Rita Skeeter information on the chosen one.

She didn't know whether or not it was true, but she knew he didn't care.

Draco claimed it was because he kept finding Harry staring longingly at her, which she did believe but didn't think was a reasonable enough excuse.

She didn't bother reprimanding him, knowing it would only feed his jealousy and she couldn't be bothered to deal with his green-eyed monster.

POOR POTTER ORPHAN IN A LOVE TRIANGLE WITH THE MALFOY HEIR, BUT WHO WILL CAPTURE THE SLYTHERIN PRINCESS'S HEART... JUST WAIT AND SEE.

"What the fuck?" Artemis asked after Theo read out the headline, laughing as he did so.

Blaise was quick to pull down Draco after noticing he was about to run over to the Gryffindor table.

"That's what you get for spreading lies D," Daphne shook her head as she continued reading the article.

"I didn't spread anything," Draco thrashed around in his godbrother's hold, but the Zabini boy didn't let go, "he shouldn't even be competing in this stupid competition."

"Let it go," Theo said tiredly, he just wanted to eat his breakfast in peace.

"Look at him," Draco pointed to the other side of the hall, they all turned to spot Harry staring over at them, with a timid expression, Hermoine closed the article and offered the chosen one a smile.

The hall was quite bare, many students didn't have lessons today, so they stayed in bed, leaving only a handful of their peers to fill up the tables.

Artemis caught alot of envious stares from Pansy but chose not to engage with the girl.

She rolled her eyes and grabbed her boyfriend's chin, so he would face her, "Stop looking at him," she spoke sternly, causing her friends to laugh, "it's not a problem."

"Yes it is." he broke out of Blaise's hold, only to be stopped by the Seramore witch. She boldly sat on his lap to get him to stop moving.

His eyes widened at the action, as did many of their peers, Daphne squealed excitedly, whilst Blaise chuckled and went back to eating.

Draco wrapped his arms around her waist and brought her closer, defusing the tension that made its way through his body.

"Oh, here we go," Theo mumbled as he noticed a bubbly and giddy Colin Creevy approach the group with his comically large camera.

"Artemis, is it true that Harry is going to steal you away from Draco?" he asked with a toothy smile, not taking notice of the scowls he received from the Slytherin students when he walked out.

"Get lost." Draco snapped, but that didn't deflate the younger boy's spirit.

But Artemis' face lit up, after quickly remembering what her mother and aunt told her.

Always fake it to the cameras.

She uncharacteristically giggled loudly, making Theo spit out his food, "I don't like Harry in any way and he knows that." she snaked her arm around her boyfriend's neck, "Draco and I couldn't be happier."

Blaise and Daphne concealed their laughter in each other's holds.

Colin smiled widely and held up his camera, "Can I get one pictu-"

"No." Draco shook his head.

Artemis nodded at the Gryffindor student, "Smile Darling." she pressed a kiss to her boyfriend's cheek, as he fake smiled.

Daphne and Theo jumped in the background as the flash went off.

Artemis waved ecstatically, "Alright bye Colin."

"One more please." The 3rd year boy asked desperately, but before Draco could shut him down, Blaise did instead.

"I'll take your camera and stamp on it Little C," Blaise weakly threatened, scaring the boy slightly, "Get lost."

Colin spun on his heels and ran, tripping and staggering along the way, resulting in laughter from their housemates.

Daphne fanned herself, "So fit."

Theo made a noise of agreement, "She's not wrong."

***

After the whole debacle in the great hall, Artemis went to go and use the bathroom, having drunk way too much apple juice.

Luckily, she only had one lesson and that was astronomy which that took place late at night, so she took her time getting back to her friends.

But before she could turn the corner, someone knocked on her, causing their bag to drop onto the floor.

"Oh of course, it's you Seramore."

She looked down to see Ron hastily picking up his fallen books.

"Oh hi Ronald," She said with a fake smile.

"It's Ron."

"I know."

He roughly placed all his books back in his bag, "you know what? I wouldn't be surprised if you told him to do it," he said sourly as he placed his bag back on his shoulder.

She stared at him with furrowed brows, "who?"

"You know who." he snapped, then quickly realised his words.

"Lord V"? She asked very amused by his flustered face.

"What? No, Harry, I bet you're all in on it."

"In on what?" Then it suddenly hit her, "you think I told him to put his name in the goblet of fire don't you?" she used her hand to cover her laughter.

He clenched his fists, not finding anything funny, "Don't lie, I know it was you."

She continued to laugh, "you honestly believe that don't you?"

"I do because it's the truth. You... you made him go mental. Absolutely bonkers, not surprised since you had him all to yourself last year."

"Ah, you and your Gryffindorks would believe Dumbledore's piss was rain if he told you," she mused, fueling his fury.

"It's true," he raged, "not the piss thing but the fact that you and Harry planned this," he quickly corrected himself before she could comment, "he's competing in this and I bet you told him to do it, whispering in his ear when you tutored him last year."

Ron knew those tutoring sessions were a bad idea, he and Hermoine tried telling his best friend but he wouldn't listen.

Artemis took a step forward, all amusement drained from her face, which made him take a step back, "you know what's funny?" he shook his head vigorously, "you're jealous of your best friend."

"Am not."

"You are," she said lowly, she barely blinked, continuing to stare deep into his eyes, "and it's hilarious that you think that little Harry Potter wouldn't be seen putting his name into the cup in the first place-"

"He could've done it at a different time."

"He's Harry fucking Potter," she stated, raising her voice, "you all put him on a pedestal, treat him like a god, even though he isn't and he knows he isn't. He could get away with murder and you would all let him."

"No, he wouldn't kill anyone, Harry's not like that. You don't know him."

She raised her hand to silence him, "That's not the point," she shook her head. She was very annoyed about his accusations and even more annoyed that she was having this conversation, to begin with, "Harry isn't that smart, I know, I tutored him. But he isn't thick, so putting his name into the goblet of fire is out of character of him... even I know that I'm not friends with him, barely even acquaintances. And let's be honest Ronald, someone would probably see him do it."

"He could've asked someone."

"Your jealousy is exhausting." she rolled her eyes and took another step towards him, backing him up against the wall.

The fear in his eyes, gave her deja vu, reminding her of how Hermoine looked the same back in 2nd year.

"I'm not jealous," he gritted out, clutching his bag, she nodded mockingly, "you're probably jealous of Greengrass."

She pinched the bridge of her nose, irritated at the claim.

What the bloody hell? She thought to herself.

"Why would I be jealous of Daph? She's a beautiful and smart witch, as am I, we don't need to compete because we know ourselves, so If you envy your friends, your friendship won't thrive, I doubt it would survive the year."

"Don't talk about my friendship with Harry. It has nothing to do with you," Ron snarled.

"You mentioned him first," she chuckled darkly, "I wouldn't be surprised if you were the one to put his name in the goblet Ronald."

"I would never do that to him. That's a vile thing to say. You're mad."

"Alright."

"I'm telling the truth, not like I want someone like you to believe me."

"Well let me ask you something," she said rhetorically, "what would you do if I did that to you?" she said with a wicked smile.

His eyes bulged out of his head, "is that a threat? You think that would scare me, a threat from you?"

"Darling I don't need to make threats to scare you, it was just a question." she hummed then took a step backwards, he let out a shaky breath, "Ciao Ronald."

She waved him goodbye, not before shooting one more deadly glare at him.

Friday, November 13th:

THE COURTYARD:

Artemis and Draco were sitting in a tree.

Yes, very juvenile, but oh well.

He liked climbing them, so he assisted his girlfriend to get up there with him, as his goons joked below them.

Theo and Daphne had a muggle studies lesson, and so did Blaise, but he was too tired to pay attention, so he sat up against the tree, writing love letters to the Greengrass witch.

During Draco and Blaise, spare time, they were quick to make various badges which mocked the Potter wizard.

'Potter Stinks', was everywhere.

Daphne of course aided in the making, especially after having a lot of success with her 'Pummelled Parkinson' shirts she made 2 years prior.

Draco's gaze was torn away from his girlfriend when he spotted Harry walking across the courtyard, huffing about the badges.

"Don't start D," Artemis sighed as she noticed that familiar mischievous glint in his eyes.

She adorned a turtleneck today, due to the fact his amazing work of art didn't fade and the concealing charm she used wore off.

Draco of course found it amusing but she wasn't in the mood.

"It will only be a second Darling," he pressed a kiss to her cheek before sending a glare at Harry, "My father and I have bet you see, I don't think you're gonna last 10 minutes in this tournament" He jumped out of the tree, quickly assisting Artemis down along with him, "He disagrees, he thinks you won't last 5."

The group laughed, Blaise rose from the ground and stood near his cousin.

Harry stormed over to the group, "I dont give a damn about what your father thinks, Malfoy. He's vile and cruel, and you're pathetic"

"Don't talk about our godfather like that," the cousins warned the boy, who felt uncomfortable under their gaze.

Harry couldn't understand how they would defend such an evil man, maybe it's because they're Slytherins. He thought.

"Pathetic!?" Draco repeated and whipped out his wand, ready to hex the boy.

But before he could do so, they heard a croaky voice come out of the distance and point his wand at the Malfoy heir. "I don't think so sonny" Moody yelled.

A light struck Draco, turning him into a ferret. Drawing in crowds of people laughing at the little animal that they knew to be the pureblood boy. Professor Moody began bouncing Draco up and down, tormenting him and his goons.

Artemis and Blaise took a step back, swapping their wands so they had the correct ones. They couldn't stand for this.

Not at all.

"Professor Moody, what is the meaning of this?" Professor McGonagall shouted as she heard the commotion "Is that-is that a student!?" she frantically asked, seeing the animal that screeched.

'Technically it's a ferret" Moody responded pointing his wand at Draco once more, many of the Slytherin sycophants ran away.

Blaise was quick to transfigure his godbrother him human again, his hair was messy, freight and embarrassment covered his face.

The Zabini wizard pulled him backwards, "My father will hear about this," Draco yelled.

"Is that a threat!?" Moody went to chase him but he was quickly disarmed, by none other than Artemis Seramore.

"Expelliarmus."

Students went silent and both Professors were shocked.

She checked over her boyfriend to see if he was okay, before turning back to the erratic man, "I couldn't care less that you are supposedly a teacher, but harm a student again and I'll personally make sure you can't see again, got it?"

Her threatening tone was enough to cause a few students to run off.

Cedric, Iziah, Zacharias, Alana and Aurora, watched from the distance with proud expressions.

McGonagall gave Artemis a disapproving look, "Miss Seramore."

"Harming students isn't part of your training is it professor?" she cocked her head to the side, clutching both her's and Moody's vile wand.

"No, but you can't-"

"Defend someone against a Volatile man?" Artemis cut her off, eyeing Moody, before dashing his wand to the grown, it cracked upon impact, "That's truly heartbreaking if you think that." her calm voice contrasted the anger she felt.

"I don't." the Scottish teacher shook her head as she composed herself, "I'll deal with this," she reassured the young witch. She turned to Moody who picked up his janky wand and ushered him along, "Come with me."

The crowd of students dispersed, along with the professors, in fear of being hexed by the Seramore witch.

Harry gawked at her, but he turned away, after  Blaise's evil eye.

"I hate this school." Draco muttered as he ran a hand through his messy locks, "thank you Darling." he loved the way she defended him.

She hugged him, making the anger fade in his body, but he was still going to write to his father about this.

"I can never look at ferrets in the same way," Blaise said, making them all burst out in laughter.

"Shut up Blaise."

"Yeah yeah, go back to your cage ferret boy," he chuckled to himself, "I'm so telling Theo about this."

Draco groaned, "don't."

Artemis laughed into his chest, "Daphne will make little shirts."

"Please don't tell them."

Blaise grinned, "you know I will."

a/n:

writing drartemis scenes are so fun to do. i can't believe its taken 4 acts to get to this point.

Artemis knows that Lucius isn't a good man, but at the end of the day she'll continue to defend her family to anyone. Just like she did with Draco but that doesn't mean he won't get mocked for getting turned into a ferret later in life.

fave scenes of this chapter?

I have finished writing this act, any predictions for the ending?
