Derik’s POV
I woke up with a groan, my head throbbed and as I reached for my head my arm stopped, I was tied to a bed, when I looked around more carefully I noticed that it was my bed, from my old room.
It as dimly lit by candles probably because these assholes didn’t pay the bill, ‘and screwing your mom’ a tiny voice in my head added.
I shook those thoughts away, I had to keep a clear mind, I had to get out of here, I looked up and smiled when I saw that my bracelets were still on, and I focused.
The flame band began to glow softly and I closed my fist collecting a tiny bit of energy, just enough for me too….
“so your finally awake.” I heard Aaron’s voice rasped.
I stopped what I was doing and let the glow die down before he saw.
I would get out later.
“why are you doing this? Haven’t you taken enough from me!” I screamed, and that earned me a punch to the face.
“don’t talk to me you faggot!” he yelled in my face, his breath sunk of beer and pot and it made me very sick.
“you have some nerve, you should have stayed dead, we had a very good thing going on and you had to go and ruin it!” he spat.
Heat began to rise to my cheeks, “you and Richard raping my mother is a good thing!” I screeched, I didn’t care if he hit me I was going to be heard, I wasn’t the same scared little boy that used to b his punching bag, I was a new man and I would not be taken lightly anymore.
He turned his back and I took my chance and quickly burned the cuffs off my hands and feet and just as he turned around I tackled him to the ground.
“what the fuck? How did you get loose?” he yelled under all the punches I was throwing to his face. He threw me across the room with his feet and hit the wall hard. He stalked towards me with blood dripping from his nose. I sat there waiting for the moment when he leaned down, “hah! Serves you right for what you are.”
That did it I threw my right arm out and a gale of wind tossed his effortlessly away from me, I rose with the air and floated towards him, he was forced against the opposite wall and stuck there like a magnet on a fridge.
“what the fuck is this!” his screams barely audible through the chaos.
I smiled wickedly at him and that smile made him flinch, I leaned down to him and held my left hand out to him, he stared and he screamed again when a fireball formed in my hand.
“this is your punishment Aaron, for all the pain you caused me, for my mother, and lastly the one person who was very dear to me,” the fire grew, almost licking his face now drenched in sweat, “my sister.” I said darkly.
I pulled my arm back ready to throw it at him when I heard the door slam open, I looked over ready to roast Richard and I froze, Hayle stood in the doorway, but the person who caught my eyes was the frail girl in front of him, I felt my power die and Aaron fell to the floor with a loud thunk.
I felt my feet touch the floor and almost lost my balance, tears began to fall and cloud my vision.
There standing in the door was my sister,
Sharon.
Hayle’s POV
“you’re supposed to be dead!” I shouted.
She scoffed, “I might as well be after what Aaron’s been doing to me.”
I was not believing this, Sharon was alive! I sat up and turned my back to her, “do you mind?”
She undid my bindings and I stood rubbing my raw wrists.
“we have to find Derik.” I said.
“he’s alive!” she yelled, her eyes full of tears and a smile plastered over her thin lips.
“yes, but we have to find him and your mother and leave.” I strode to the door and as I suspected it was locked.
“he always locks the door, and barricades it with a shelf.” Sharon explained, “I tried too many times to go for help and he had enough.”
I stood there thinking hard of way out, but I had only one option for our escape.
I reached into myself and tapped into my unused power, I felt it roll against my skin when I said, “well this time you are leaving.” And I thrust my palm letting loose a lightning bolt that ripped its way out of the door leaving a giant opening big enough for us to leave through.
“what the fuck was that!” Sharon’s voice rang after a moment of silence.
I turned to her, and found her peaking her head from behind the filthy bed wide eyed with both shock and amazement.
“I’ll tell you later, but we have to find Derik.” She composed herself when I mentioned his name and nodded running to the door sneaking her head out the hole to be sure that no one was there, she motioned for me to follow her as she ran down the hall opening every door along.
I froze when I felt it, a searing sensation running across my body coming from the room across from us, Derik was using his power, I called Sharon back silently towards a door on the opposite side of the hall.
She crept forward and opened the door which ended up slamming into the wall from the gust of wind that was bombarding us.
Derik was looking at us ready to throw a ball of fire our way, until his power dissolved and he fell onto shaking legs. I knew he saw her, because tears began to stream down his face.
“S-Sh-Sharon?” he cried.
She went to him and wrapped her arms around him protectively, rocking him gently and cooing him sweet nothings to him. I looked to the wall where something began to move.
The man named Aaron stood and reached for something in his pocket, by the time I realized it was a knife I was to run towards the two yelling, “get down!” they both looked back and Sharon pulled Derik down with her, when I released my power again and shot a lightning bolt right through the man’s chest.
He froze and looked down, a hole was burned through his body right where his heart was, and he looked to me with disbelief in his eyes before he fell to the floor, dead.
I rushed to Derik’s side and held him for a moment before whispering to him that I was going to get his mother, he just nodded unable to speak yet, I looked over to his sister, “take care of him please.”
She just nodded with a weak smile, “I always do.” She stroked his hair and whispered in a low tone to him.
I rose and walked down the hall back to the room where Derik’s mother was kept.
I opened the door and found her bound and gagged again, and she was whimpering now when she heard the door creak open. “it’s alright ma’ma I’m here to get you out of here.” I said to her untying the blindfold to let her see my face.
When I removed the gag she started to speak in a raspy voice, “where are they?”
I knew by they she meant the older man and the man I killed.
“I don’t know about the older man, but Aaron is dead.”
She didn’t look at all affected by it in the least, which told me she couldn’t care less.
After I untied her she attempted to stand, but resulted in me catching her.
“I’m sorry I haven’t been out of this bed since…” she trailed off and looked down at her feet.
“it’s alright now ma’ma.”
“don’t call me ma’ma, your my son’s boyfriend right?”
I nodded.
“well then you can call me Mary.” She smiled weakly, and I gave her one of my own.
“lets go see your son.” I said and scooped her into my arms and walked out the door.
alrighty so here is Chapter 10 i hope its good enough for you guys, i had some major writers block, when im done i may come back and fix up the fight, put a little more power usage?
