You tasted the air as you rounded the corner of a brick wall, ears flat as you surveyed the area for any signs of an intruder. Scourge had been talking about a strange scent around the alley, but it didn't belong to anyone he knew. He stated on multiple occasions that it was indeed a cat, but definitely not a BloodClan warrior. Hoot and Jumper had also picked up on the strange scent, and Brick claimed to have spotted a hefty orange tabby tom lurking around by the trashcans on the other side of the street. This made you bristle when you thought about it. If some rat-faced jerk was sneaking around and stealing BloodClan's food, you were going to catch him in the act.
"I don't think anyone is out here," Bone, your good friend, meowed as you finished marking the last metal trashcan. "We should probably go back. Scourge is expecting us."
You turned and gave him a look that told him to shut his muzzle. "I know that lousy brickhead is here somewhere," You retorted, lashing your tail. "Violet and I saw him just a couple hours ago. Do you really want to let him get away with stealing our food?"
Bone sighed, shaking his head. "Look, (Y/N). The food-stealer is gone, alright? Let's just go home and report our findings to—" Suddenly, there was a loud crash as one of the trashcans toppled over and spilled it's contents everywhere. Both you and Bone spun around when this happened, shoulders bristling and ears perked up.
"I knew it!" You hissed, creeping up to a black bag full of garbage and peering over the top. Sure enough, the same overweight wad of orange fur was there, crouched down as hell greedily gulped down the remains of a chicken. Your hackles rose involuntarily, and a low growl rumbled in your throat.
"(Y/N)," Bone meowed quietly with a warning tone. "Don't do anything—" You leaped over the black bag and began stalking towards the intruder with a snarl. Bone sighed, his broad shoulders slacking. "—stupid."
"Hey!" You snarled, thrusting your muzzle into the intruder's face, forcing him to stand up and face you. "What do you think you're doing here? This is BloodClan's alley!" The orange menace stared at you for a moment, then let out an ugly, wet snort of a laugh.
"Is that so? Tell me, gorgeous, what's a tom gotta do to get some action around here?" His pus-filled pale blue eyes traveled over your body like a snake about to strike. You fought off the urge to retch, unsheathing your claws and squaring your shoulders. The strange tom licked his lips, growling feistily. "You're one a them tough gals, eh?" He cackled, standing up and revealing his full form. You flinched. He was huge. What had been mistaken for fat by you and your friends was, in fact, rippling, thick muscle.
"Get out of here," You snarled, refusing to show that you were intimidated as he towered over you. "We have ways of dealing with trespassers."
A cocky smirk spread across his scarred muzzle, and he cocked an eyebrow curiously. "Oh, yeah? And what's that?"
You stepped back and crouched down, lashing your tail. "This." With that, you sprang forward and slammed into his chest with enough force to send him sprawling backwards with a loud grunt. You landed on top of him, sinking your claws into his shoulders. Blood trickled out of the wounds, staining your paws crimson.
"Stupid wench," He snarled. "Get off of me!" He vaulted his hind paws into your gut mercilessly, causing your claws to rip free of his flesh as you were hurtled across the alley and into a brick wall. You groaned, opened your eyes and heaving yourself to your paws. The intruder was standing across from you, his orange tabby fur bristling furiously. "Now you've done it, sweetheart!" With that, he thrusted himself forward with his powerful hind legs, tackling you yo the ground and biting into your scruff with bone-crushing strength. You let out a sharp cry, heaving yourself up and tearing a massive chunk of your scruff off in the process.
You turned to face him, still full of rage and fight despite your sore stomach and the blood seeping down the sides of your neck. You had had enough of this jerk. "GET OUT!" You snarled, lunging forward and raking your claws across his eye. He reeled back with a snarl, clutching his right eye with his paw.
"Fine," He growled, lashing his tail and casting an intimidated glance at Bone, who was now standing a few feet away from you and glaring at the intruder. "You win this time, you vile wench. But I'll be back." Then, he turned and scrambled to the top of the metal trashcans and disappeared onto the roof of a building. Once he was gone, you let your shoulders slump. You couldn't seem to catch your breath, and the more you tried, the more light-headed you felt.
"You're an idiot," Bone snapped, turning to face you. "What were you thinking? He would've ripped your throat out if it wasn't for..." He trailed off, as if he decided what he was about to say wasn't a good idea.
"If it wasn't for what?" You retorted, in too much pain to fight with him.
"Uh... Nothing." He replied, giving his pelt a shake. "Let's get you home, alright? You look like you've been dragged through hell."
Bone's POV
Bone watched as (Y/N) curled up and fell into a deep sleep, the deep wound on her neck still bleeding slightly. He sighed and gently stroked her hind leg with his tail. "What am I gonna do with you?" She didn't reply, of course, only curled deeper into the old blanket and murmured something unintelligible. With another sigh, Bone rose to his paws and padded out of the cardboard box, plopping down and letting his shoulders slump.
"How is she?" Brick had approached him from his perch on the chain link fence. His amber eyes were glazed over with concern.
"She's gonna be fine," Bone replied in a mutter. "I just wish she would stop picking fights with everyone she comes across."
Brick chuckled. "A fighter, she is. Real feisty gal." Bone chuckled, wrapping his bushy tail around his paws and straightening up a little. He began to wonder what would've happened if he hasn't been with her when they encountered the intruder. He shuddered. He didn't want to know. He'd seen the way the orange tabby looked at him. There had been fear in his eyes.
"We all know she's only alive because of you, Bone," Brick meowed, lowering his voice. "If you weren't there tonight, I think she woulda been that rogue's dinner."
"I know," Bone sighed, casting a glance back towards the box where (Y/N) was fast asleep. "I can't keep an eye on her all the time. It scares me to death, Brick. I'd die if something happened to her." Brick just nodded. Bone rose to his paws, padding over to the flap of the box.
"Take care of her, Bone," Brick meowed. "She needs you."
Bone chuckled. "Yeah. I will." Then, he slipped inside and curled up next to (Y/N) and closed his eyes. She was a pain in the tail, but he could never take his eyes off of her.
🥀 Your POV 🥀
"(Y/N), wake up." A paw gently shook your shoulder, rousing you from the deepest sleep of your life. Your eyes fluttered open to see Bone standing over you, his green eyes reflecting the morning sun.
"Alright, I'm up." You grumbled, slowly sitting up and wincing as your injured neck twinged slightly. "What is it?"
"That tom from yesterday came into the alley and spoke to Scourge. He said he wants half of our territory, and Scourge wasn't having it. He left, but everyone is worried there is going to be a raid. Scourge is assigning us all positions in case there's a fight."
You immediately peeked up, flexing your claws. "He came back? What a pair he has on him! Did he tell Scourge his name or motives? Anything of use?"
Bone sighed. "Take it easy, alright? He said his name is Salvador, but he goes by Sal." You bristled, the pain in your neck reminding you of how much you wanted to tear him apart. If that orange prick was looking for a fight, he was going to get one.
"What did Scourge say so far?" You asked excitedly. "What's my position?"
Bone looked nervous. "Well, that's the thing. Scourge doesn't think you're in the best state to fight. He wants you to stay in your box until it's over." Your heart sank. What was the point of being a BloodClan cat if you couldn't even fight beside your allies? Bone's gaze hardened, and he took a step closer to you. "We mean it, (Y/N). You stay in here until one of us gives you the okay to come out. You're already hurt, and I can't stand to watch it happen again. You almost gave me a heart attack last night, for crying out loud!" He noticed your disappointment and sighed, letting his fur lay flat again. "I care about you, (Y/N). Please, promise me you'll stay out of this fight." He looked at you pleadingly, and you sighed in defeat.
"Fine," You mumbled. "but I don't have to like it."
"No one said you have to." He replied, padding over to the flap that covered your box. "I love you, (Y/N). Remember that." Then, he disappeared outside into the rain. You huffed, resting your chin on your paws. It was going to be a long night.

You weren't sure how long it had been since you'd fallen asleep, but you were crudely jarred out of sleep by the sounds of a raging war outside. You stiffened, straining your ears. You couldn't make out any particular voices, but you knew a fight when you heard one— You'd been in many yourself.
You stiffly rose to your paws and slowly pushed open the flap of your box with a paw and peered out. Sure enough, BloodClan was viciously clashing with a group of other rogues — and Sal was right in the heat of it. The massive orange tabby was biting into flesh and knocking your friends out of the way with ease, a malicious grin on his bloodstained muzzle the entire time. Your claws slid out of your toes involuntarily, and a low growl tumbled into your throat. What a sorry jerk.
Every instinct you owned was screaming at you to leap out of your box and rip his other eye out, and you were about to, but you remembered Scourge's instructions and Bone's words. "I care about you, (Y/N). Please, promise me you'll stay out of this fight." His voice echoed in your skull, filling you with a sense of despair.
But I care about you, too, You thought as you watched the muscular black-and-white tom get thrown to the ground by Sal. You can't expect me to just sit here and watch you get hurt! Bone struggled to free himself of the massive rogue's grip, but to no avail. Sal was too strong. I don't stand a chance. But I have to do something!
With that thought lingering in the back of your mind, you burst out of your hiding spot and charged forward, leaping onto Sal's back with a screech and sinking your claws into his big shoulders. The big orange tabby let out a shriek of pain, reeling back and allowing Bone to scramble out of his way. "(Y/N)! I thought I told you stay hidden!" He snarled, staring at you in bewilderment and terror. You ignored him, taking your back claws down Sal's spine and sinking your teeth into his neck. Warm blood filled your mouth and began streaming and spurting out the sides, but you refused to let go. Sal suddenly flipped himself onto his back, crushing you under his weight. The wind was knocked right out of you, and you screamed as your still-bleeding neck made contact with the concrete. Sal whirled around, then curled his lip back into a menacing snarl as his gaze rested on you. "You," He growled, harshly slamming his paw onto your chest. You coughed, blood trickling out the sides of your mouth. "You rancid little fleabag! How are you stupid enough to pick a fight with me again!?"
You opened your eyes, inhaling through gritted teeth as you glared up at your foe. "Because I won last time!" Then, with movement quicker than a striking snake, you swung your claws in front of you. Sal stared at you for a moment unblinkingly, then his eyes widened and his jaw dropped as blood began pouring like rain from the gash you had left on his throat. A horrible sound somewhere between a retch and a gasp escaped his mouth along with a stream of dark crimson blood, then he collapsed off to the side with a violent spasm. You sprang to your paws, gasping for air. Sal was completely still now, his pale blue eyes glazed over and staring at nothing.
One of the invading rogues let out a yowl of horror. "She killed Sal! Let's get outta here! She's crazy!" The intruders all turned tail and fled, not looking back once.
"That's right, run!" You snarled after them. "If I ever see you again, I'll turn your guts inside out!" BloodClan started to cheer, and Bone raced over to you. You met his gaze with a smirk, giving him a nudge with his shoulder.
"That was the closest I've ever come to having a heart attack!" He growled. "For the love of Pete, (Y/N)! Why are you like this!?"
You just laughed. "At least we'll never have to worry about him again. A 'thank you' would be nice right now!" Bone turned away and muttered several suggestive curse words, then turned back to you and rolled his eyes.
"Thank you,," He sighed, his green eyes glinting with a mix of frustration and affection. "You saved my butt back there. I appreciate it." You smiled. He was cute when he showed his compassionate side.
"I'd do anything for you," You murmured, rubbing your cheek against his. "I'm just glad you're okay."
Bone purred, gently rasping his tongue over your neck. "I love you, (Y/N)."
You chuckled. "I love you too, Bone." You knew you drove him crazy sometimes, and you could only imagine how close he must be to death by a heart attack. You didn't care how many times he dragged you away from a fight, however. It was nice to know someone loved you so deeply.

I'm sorry this took a bit longer than my other one-shots. There was a lot to write and a lot of detail to include, so I had to make sure it was perfect. Thank you for being patient!
