It was my first day of art class, and excitement would be an understatement. I woke up early and got ready for the day. Annie will be joining me a week later. I got to the art class and found people piling in. I walked inside and took a seat in a corner. Many people were in the class, but I felt alone since Annie wasn't with me.
The class was about to start in five minutes when a boy came and sat next to me. He looked at me and introduced himself to me with a smile, "Hello, I am Sanjay."
"Hi, I am Siya," I replied.
As he was about to talk, the teacher walked into the class. We turned our attention to him and focused on his lecture. Since it was the first day, he taught us some essential drawing tips, a few of which I already knew. Later, he asked us to draw a random picture that came to our minds.
Everyone got busy with their drawing. I was drawing the sunset at the beach. The teacher walked around, checking the work of all students. When he reached me, he stopped and leaned to examine my painting. "Have you learned drawing before?" he asked, observing my picture.
"Yes, sir. I learned a bit online," I replied politely.
"Nice picture. Good work," he complimented me and walked away. I was happy with his praise.
Sanjay looked at my picture, "Really, well done," showing his thumb up.
"Thank you." I peeped into his painting. It was perfect. I decided to let him know, "You're good too."
"Not better than you." He continued, "Truly, it's nice." He added, smiling, and continued his work.
After three hours, the class was done. The teacher dismissed the class. I was packing my stuff when Sanjay spoke to me. "Where are you from?" while packing his stuff.
"I live nearby," I replied.
We walked out of the class and soon reached the entrance. "Since we'll see each other often, let's be friends." He said.
I dwelled on it for a bit. He looks decent, calm, and mature. "Fine," I replied.
"Great! We'll meet in the class tomorrow," he said as a car stopped before us. He bade goodbye and got in the car. He waved at me as the car drove away, and I waved back at him. He is rich but doesn't look rude and arrogant like other rich kids. He seems calm and speaks humbly with pleasure and respect.
I returned home and plopped on the sofa to rest. "How was the first day?" Nia asked me as she was helping aunt Madhuri in the kitchen.
"Fine," I said and walked into the kitchen. I lean over Nia, asking for food as I am starving. She told me to get fresh and come for food.
I dragged myself to the room to freshen up and returned to sit at the dining table, waiting for food. They set up the table and took seats. As Aarav and Vihaan arrived on time, aunt Madhuri asked them to join us. Aarav sat next to me, and Vihaan sat beside him. We had a small talk about our day while we ate.
Finally, Nia served the dessert to us, which was Gulab jamun. She served three per person. I ate mine and picked one from Aarav. He stared at me for a while and then fed me another. I noticed Vihaan looking at us from the corner of my eye. I looked at him and found him smiling at us. God! That smile was so attractive. It can impress any girl easily, so how could I be an exception?
"Do you want some more?" I asked him.
"No, I am fine." He replied. I shrugged.
Later, we all decided to have a movie marathon and settled in the living room for it. Despite my aunt's protests about staying late, we retired for the night around 1'o clock.
