"H-hunter?" Your eyes widen.
"Hi-" He weakly greeted.
You run to him. Just in time to catch him as he lost his balance.
"What happened to you?"

"It's nothing." He huffed.
"Really now?" You raised an eyebrow, not buying his lame response.
"I just had to check if you're doing alright." He looked at you with tired eyes.
"Hunter, you're the one here looking like you got hit by a bus." You frowned.
"I don't know what that is but that sounds about right." Hunter responded sluggishly as exhaustion started to take over his body.
"But really, it's nothing. I just- oop" Hunter let out a tiny gasp, surprised as you carried him bridal style towards the bed.
Hunter, now seated on your bed, was patting his knees anxiously as you frantically walk around your small room, thinking of a way to treat this poor battered boy.
"Y/N I'm fine." He insisted yet it was very obvious he wasn't.
"I'm not stupid y'know." You replied coldly.
You whistled with both fingers and Mari, your palisman, fluttered towards you and transformed into a staff.
"Come on, you're overreacting." Hunter chuckled.
"Excuse me mister but I am reasonable-amount-reacting!" You blurted out, breaking your previously calm and collected demeanor.
You took a deep breath to try calming yourself down once more.
"Ok, I'm going to try casting a healing spell. This is my first time so I'd suggest you stay still." You alerted him.
"h-Hey! What if it goes wrong?" He panicked.
"You'll be fine~" You assured him.
"probably..." You mumbled.
"Wait wha-"
Before Hunter could react, you drew a circle in the air.
With the spell cast, a blue ring was formed, flying towards him.
He closed his eyes tight, afraid that the spell might fail miserably.
Slowly, he reopened his eyes and checked his body for any missing limbs.
"Don't you ever do that again!" He glared at you.
"Maybe you should try not getting hurt for a change." You rolled your eyes.
"Now, let me see." You hold on to both of his arms for inspection.
"hmm... the bruises are gone."
Next, you gently held his face.
"Your cuts disappeared."
"Man, I should join the healing track at this point. I had so much practice thanks to you." You say sarcastically.
"Why, you're welcome." Hunter proudly grinned.
"Darling, I was being sarcastic." You stated bluntly.
"So ungrateful." He scoffed.
"Wait, did you just call me darling?" He blushed upon realization.
"I don't know. Did I?" You smirked.
"Tease." He grumbled yet was blushing even more than he already was.
"So, aren't you going to tell me what happened?" You asked in a gentle tone as you sit beside him on the bed.
"I-" Hunter hesitated for a bit.
"I-it's nothing. Don't worry about it." He answered.
"Ugh really?! You're pulling that card on me?" You rolled your eyes.
Hunter looks from left to right, quite confused. "I don't have any cards?"
"Ughhhhh." You groan in and fall backwards on the bed, releasing a little oomf as you hit the mattress.
"I can't believe you still don't trust me" You sigh.
"Even now.'
"What no! That's not true. I trust you more than anyone, Y/N." Hunter insisted.
"Then why all the secrets? The lies? Why can't you just tell me what's going on?" You cried out in frustration.
"I'm just trying to protect you ok?" He explained.
"From what?! Getting captured?" You snapped.
Hunter's eyes widened.
There was a moment of silence before you decided to speak up again.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean-"
"No, you're right. I failed to protect you." He frowned.
"I'm sorry." He slid down from your bed down to the floor.
"I'm the worst boyfriend ever." He tucked his legs and buried his face in his knees.
"Hey..." You sadly called as you approached him.
"Don't feel sorry for me. I don't deserve it." He muttered.
You silently sat down beside him and rested your head on his shoulder.
"You've been dragged in here against your will because I failed to protect you." Hunter stated.
"It's not your fault the Emperor wants me captured you know." You refuted. "The guy's a real prick."
"You should be with your family at the owl house."
Hunter never addressed them like that before. He was normally against the idea of you teaming up with Eda, Luz, King, and even Lilith.
"Yeah, it sucks." You sighed. "But hey, you're here with me aren't you?"
"i-I wish I could make it up to you." He stuttered a bit. "Somehow."
You take his hand and intertwined his fingers with yours.
"You could start by being honest with me for once." You smile.
"I won't judge." You whispered.
Hunter lifted his gaze up to you. It took him a while but he finally gathered the courage to tell you what happened.
How he went to Eclipse Lake;
He told you why he desperately wanted his hands on the Titan blood;
How he got captured by Eda and the gang;
He told you everything. It was the most honest he's ever been with you. And you sat there patiently listening.
"...the youngest blight ended up surrendering the key to me."
"I thought if I got that portal key, uncle Belos would free you." He explained. "Which I know he will!"
"He's just really busy right now.
"Man, that's a lot to process." You were taken aback.
"But was digging your own grave thing necessary?" You questioned.
"I thought it was hopeless." He shrugged.
"And did you really have to fight my future sister-in-law like that?"
You didn't know Luz was dating Amity at the time but you had your hopes up.
"I had to! You say you wouldn't judge!" Hunter complained.
"I'm not. I'm just... questioning your methods. You have questionable methods, Hunter."
"I didn't want to get replaced ok? Not by the Emperor, not by you."
"Hey look at me!" You grabbed his shoulders.
"The Emperor might be an absolute rotten baloney to even think of replacing you but I will never do that." You asserted.
"Then why are you cheating on me?" Hunter asked.
"Uh excusawhat now?" You were confused.
"No need to act surprised, Y/N. I know. You ratted yourself out." He explained
"You said that you had a secret boyfriend."
"Ha- Wha- when the heck did I say that?!" You scoffed in disbelief.
"Earlier today you were sick if you could recall. And I believe due to your state, you became too weak to even carry the weight of your lies, Y/N. And so revealing to me the awful truth of you cheating on me!" Hunter said dramatically.
"You said he was cOol, strOng mystEriOUs with his stupid cape and stupid mask" He said in a mocking tone.
"And something about his voice being hot." He murmured.
Just after a brief moment you realized something very important.
And that is you're dating an idiot.
"But don't worry, Y/N because I am ready to forgive. You just have to dump his sorry ass as soon as possible."
"Here's an idea, send him a message using your scroll thing." Hunter insisted.
"I believe he doesn't have a penstagram account." You hinted.
"Well, not my problem. Dump him as soon as you see him then." He asserted.
"Ok." You shrugged.
"Hunter?" You called.
"Yeah?" He looked at you.
"Let's break up." You say blankly.
"Wait wha- why?!" He shouted.
"My boyfriend told me so." You responded.
"But I-" He paused for a moment.
"..."
"Oh."
"I'm an idiot." He whispered softly upon realization.
"Yeah your an idiot." You whispered back.
"I'm an idiot!" He started panicking from embarrassment and you start laughing at him.
"Yeah you are!" you wheeze.
"Oh titan, I'm sorry I accused you of cheating. I- I didn't realize-" Hunter stumbled on his words.
"There there. We have our moments, Hunter." You patted his back.
"But I'm an idiot." He mumbled.
"That's fine."
"You're my idiot."
