Back in the Land of the Living, Victoria and Victor were looking out the window of her house. They had spent the whole day together helping Victor rehearse his lines until he was able to say them perfectly.

Victoria couldn't help but feel like Victor was saying those vows to her every time he practiced them, and Victor couldn't help but wish that Victoria was the one he was supposed to say those vows to.

This resulted in the both of them feeling horribly guilty. Victor was supposed to marry (Y/n) and the fact that Victoria was crushing on her older sister's fiancé made her feel awful. She was a wonderful older sister and she loved Victoria with all her heart. She couldn't do this to (Y/n). She needed to push her feelings away.

Victor was feeling equally guilty. (Y/n) seemed so sweet and there was no reason for him to not like her, but he just didn't click as well with her as he did with Victoria. Victor thought of (Y/n) as a kind friend, or lovable little sister rather than a wife. But he couldn't tell her that, it would break her heart. Not to mention both his parents and Victoria's parents would probably kill him.

So the two were content with pushing their feelings for each other deep down in order to spare (Y/n)'s feelings, and to just stand next to each other, looking at the stars.

"Victoria, come away from the window." Her mother ordered.

Victoria walked over to where her parents and Victor's parents were sitting, Victor following behind her.

"Oh, I'm sure she'll be back shortly." Victor's mother reassured, trying to break the awkward silence.

*Knock**Knock**Knock*

"Enter!" Lord Everglot commanded.

The doors swung open and Lord and Lady Barkis entered the room.

"Ah, Lord and Lady Barkis. I trust the rooms are to your liking." Lady Everglot asked.

"Thank you, you are a most gracious hostess. Which is why is pains us to be the bearers of such bad news." Lord Barkis said.

Lord Barkis snapped his fingers and the bell ringer entered the room.

"Would you care to repeat tonight's headline for us?" Lady Barkis asked.

"Hear ye, hear ye! (Y/n) Everglot seen this night on the bridge in the arms of a mystery man! The dark-haired man and Miss Everglot slipped away into the night!" He bellowed.

"And now, the weather. Scattered showers -."

"Enough! That will be all." Lady Barkis sneered, waving her hand to dismiss him.

"Mystery man? She doesn't even know any men." Lady Everglot said in shock.

"Or so you thought." Lord Barkis told them. "Do call for us if you need our assistance...in any way." He added as the two slipped out of the room.

"Good heavens Finis, what should we do about this mystery man?" Lady Everglot panicked.

"Fetch me musket!" Lord Everglot ordered.

"Now let's not be hasty." Mrs. Van Dort said.

"The town crier probably just had a slow news day. You know how it is, you need a little something to cry about." Mr. Van Dort defended.

"Regardless, we are a bride short for the wedding tomorrow. Not to mention the financial implications." Lord Everglot informed.

"A most scandalous embarrassment for us all." Lady Everglot said.

"Aren't you going to send someone to find your daughter?" Mrs. Van Dort asked.

"Certainly not. That wretched girl clearly doesn't care about her family enough, if she ran away with a mystery man. She's dead to us." Lady Everglot sneered. "But you may go look for her if you like."

"Uh...well..."

"It's settled then. You have till dawn to find her." Lady Everglot interrupted.

...

"(Y/n) darling, where are you?" The Corpse Groom called as he looked around the town for his lovely bride.

"If you ask me, your girlfriend is kind of jumpy." The maggot said from inside his head.

"She's not my girlfriend. She's my wife." He corrected. "(Y/n), where have you gone?"

The maggot popped out his eye. "I'll keep an eye out for her."

"(Y/n)!"

(Y/n) peered out from behind a statue and made her way down a path.

"There she goes! There she goes. She's-she's getting away! Quick, quick, after her!" The maggot exclaimed.

The Corpse Groom popped his eye back in and followed after her. "(Y/n)!"

...

(Y/n) ran past a shop called '2nd Hand Shoppe' that sold a bunch of hands.

The Corpse Groom came up to the shoppe looking around for her, and the hands pointed him in the right direction.

"Thank you."

...

"(Y/n)! Where are you?"

(Y/n) came across an alley that had rows of coffins along the wall. She quickly jumped into one and pretended to be dead.

The Corpse Groom passed her, still calling her name. "(Y/n), where have you gone?"

A black widow spider came down in front of (Y/n). "Married, huh? I'm a widow."

(Y/n) just gasped and ran away, accidentally knocking into the spider.

"Oh! How rude. She went that way!" She snitched.

...

"(Y/n)! (Y/n) darling!"

(Y/n) ran along the roads trying to avoid her husband. She ran in front of a man who was sweeping outside his shop.

"Please, there's been a mistake. I'm not dead!"

She grabbed the man's shoulders and shook him a bit causing his head to fall off.

"Oh! Sorry." She apologized, before rushing off again.

She ran into another man and they both tried to get around each other.

"Excuse me, excuse me." The man split in half and each half walked around her. "Thank you."

"(Y/n)!"

(Y/n) ran down and alley and came face to face with a wall.

"Dead end."

"(Y/n)! Hello?!"

(Y/n) decided she had no choice and started climbing up the wall. Once she reached the top, she grabbed the railing with one hand and her other hand grabbed someone's leg. She looked up and saw her husband staring down at her.

"Could've used the stairs, silly." He chuckled.

He reached down and grabbed her arm, pulling her up, and the he picked her up bridle style to lift her over the railing. He set her down on the ground and looked over the town.

"Isn't the view beautiful? It takes by breath away. Well, it would if I had any." He joked.

He went over to a bench and sat down. "Isn't it romantic?" He patted the spot next to him, and (Y/n) sat down. As soon as she did, he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer.

"Look, I'm terribly sorry about what's happened to you, and I'd like to help, but I really need to get home." (Y/n) explained.

"This is your home now, my dearest." He told her.

"But I don't even know you name." She told him.

"Well, that's a great way to start a marriage." The maggot but in.

He rubbed his hands over his eyes. "Shh! Shut up! Don't blow this for me!" He hissed.

He looking back at (Y/n) who was giving him a weird look.

"It's Emile." He introduced.

"Emile." (Y/n) repeated.

Emile stared at her.

"What?" She asked.

"Oh, sorry. It's just...you're so beautiful." He complimented.

"R-Really? You think I'm pretty?" (Y/n) said in shock.

"Mm-Hmm."

"No one's ever called me pretty before." She confessed.

"Really?"

"Well, no one other than my sister."

"Not even your parents?" Emile asked.

"No. They always said I look like an otter." She told him, looking down at her lap.

Emile took her chin in his hands and made her look up at him.

"My dearest, your parents must be blind. Your the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen."

(Y/n) blushed heavily and turned away from him. "T-Thank you. Um...you're...you look very nice as well."

It was kind of true. Even though his body was decaying, (Y/n) still thought he was attractive.

"You're so sweet." He praised. "Oh! I almost forgot. I have something for you." Emile picked up a present and placed it in (Y/n)'s lap.

She looked up at him in confusion. "It's a wedding present." He whispered, giving her a wink.

(Y/n) opened the box and Emile watched nervously, hoping she would like it. (Y/n) gasped as she saw a pile of bones in the box.

"Oh...Um...thank you." She said.

The box states shaking, and the bones toppled onto the ground and connected together to form a skeleton dog. (Y/n) stared at it in shock. The dog trotted over to her, holding a collar. (Y/n) took the collar and read the name tag.

"Scraps?" She looked up at Emile.

"He was my old dog. I figured since we're married now, he should be your dog as well." Emile explained.

"Oh! How wonderful!" (Y/n) smiled and Scraps jumped onto her lap and she gave him a scratch under the chin.

"He likes you." Emile said.

Oh, what a cutie." She cooed.

"You should have seen him with fur." Emile said, and they both chuckled.

"I always wanted a dog, but my mother never approved of animals. Or anything. Including me." (Y/n) confessed.

"Do you think she would have approved of me?" Emile asked.

(Y/n) hesitated for a moment and avoided eye contact, which gave Emile his answer.

"Oh." He looked at the ground sadly.

"Oh, please don't take it too personally! My mother hates everything. Even my father, and if it helps, I approve of you."

Emile perked up immediately. "Really? Are you saying you think I'd be a good husband for you."

(Y/n) paused and realized what she said. "I-I suppose I am." And she believed it.

"Still, it would be nice to be approved my wife's mother." Emile shrugged.

"Well, I know my sister would have liked you. I wish you could meet her." Then (Y/n) got an idea. "Well, actually...now that I think about it, I think you should."

"Really?"

"Yes. Since we're, you know, married, you should definitely meet her." (Y/n) said. "We should go and see her right now."

"What a fantastic idea darling. Where is she buried?" Emile asked.

"Oh." (Y/n) sighed.

"What? What is it my dearest?"

"Um...she's not from around here." (Y/n) told him.

"Where is she?"

(Y/n) pointed up.

"Oh, she's still alive." Emile realized. "Well that is a problem."

Then, Scraps stated barking.

"What's that Scraps? Oh, no. We couldn't possibly. Oh, well, if you put it like that."

"What?" (Y/n) asked.

"Elder Gutknecht."
