CAROLINE DIGGORY'S WORLD had fallen apart in the matter of minutes.
She remembered the happiness she felt when Harry Potter and her older brother, Cedric, came back during the third task of the Triwizard Tournament. However, she noticed something was wrong, that her older brother, her role model, was dead. Everything around her had fallen into slow motion.
Things weren't the same. Nothing was. Caroline's parents secluded themselves, which Caroline understood, but she needed her parents. They left her alone and didn't speak to her unless required to, which made Caroline feel even worse.
And as a cherry on top, there was the prospect of Harry claiming that Voldemort was back and it was he who killed Cedric. Caroline didn't know what to believe. Obviously, Harry wouldn't have accused something so serious unless it reigned true. However, she also found herself succumbing to the words of the Daily Prophet.
Caroline knew she had to get to the bottom of this. She needed to find out what had truly happened to Cedric, and what better way to do so than going straight to the source itself?
Despite never talking with Harry, Hermione Granger or Ron Weasley before, Caroline goes to them to find out what really happened. She didn't just expect to become friends with them and accept invitations to hang out, though she could tell they were just doing that to make her feel better. And most of all, Caroline never thought she would fall for someone in the midst of her grieving, nevertheless a boy with flaming red hair.
Let's just say that things may get a little chaotic.
