It was three weeks before the F1 calendar was back running and in Europe for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola, Italy.

Lily was coming close to her final week of college for the year meaning she was unable to attend the race as she was studying for her final exam on the Monday after the race.

But that didn't mean she didn't make time to watch it on tv in the background during her studying.

The first practice session was on with Chase leading the way. Jack was doing surprisingly well putting his Bennett up in 3rd place in the timings.

David was down in 10th behind Chase's teammate at Audi, Andrew Owens, who won last year's championship.

Lily found herself staring at the tv too much before pulling her gaze back down to her notes in front of her that were spread out across the kitchen table.

The brown haired girl was intensely staring down at the pages in front of her when a loud bang made her jump in surprise.

She turned around to find the source of the noise to see a frame face down on the ground in front of the window that had clearly fallen.

Lily stood up and walked over before lifting the frame up to see a photo she has forgot still held a place on the kitchen windowsill.

"I love that photo." A familiar voice spoke giving her the shivers.

"You're not real. You're not here." Lily said placing the frame back on the windowsill after making sure it wasn't broken.

"Then why are you talking to me?" The man smiled as he watching Lily walk back across the room.

"I'm not. Well I'm not anymore." Lily replied as she sat back down at the kitchen table.

"That's fine. I'll just sit and watch you study." He spoke as he took a seat across from Lily.

"Go away Luca." Lily said as she placed her hands on the side of her head trying to block out his voice.

"You won't even know I'm here." Luca told her as he leant back in his seat and crossed his arms.

He stared intensely at her as she tried to study like he always did when he wanted to spend time with her but she had to study.

"Stop breathing like that." Lily commented as the threw her hands back in frustration.

"I'm dead. How is my breathing annoying you?" Luca laughed in reply.

"This isn't funny. Please go away Luca." Lily shook her head in reply as she could find herself getting emotional.

"And that's a red flag ladies and gentlemen. David Kauffman has put his Bennett into the wall at Turn 6 after a spin in the rain." The voice of the commentator spoke pulling Lily's attention towards the tv.

After watching David climb out of his car and wait for the medical car to pick him up, Lily eventually turned her gaze back across the table to find she was alone again.

"Luca? Luca?" Lily called out as she stood up looking around for the young man.

After receiving no reply she realised she was all alone again causing her to sigh before sitting down. She ran her hands down her face in frustration before trying to study again.

Monday came fast and Lily had just finished her end of year exam and was now on the way to meet up with Chase in a restaurant in London.

The Audi driver had won the Italian Grand Prix at Imola yesterday beating his teammate Andrew by a couple of seconds.

Jack had managed to finished 5th with David ahead in 4th both glad to bring home good points for the team and Jack was ecstatic to get his first ever formula one points after the start to the season he had in Bahrain.

Lily arrived outside the restaurant and could see Chase sitting in a booth by the window looking down at his phone while sipping his tea.

The brown haired girl headed inside and over to meet her friend who lifted his head at the sound of footsteps approaching his table.

"Hello." Lily spoke as Chase's eyes met hers.

"Hey." Chase replied as he stood up and hugged the girl kissing her cheek in the progress.

"Congratulations." Lily told him as they proceed to sit down across from each other in the booth.

"Thanks. Felt good beating Andrew." Chase said with a smile on his face.

"I'm sure it did." Lily laughed in reply.

"And the little rookie did pretty well too." Chase spoke leaning back in his seat.

"He's not the only rookie on the grid this year. But he did do well." Lily agreed with her friend. "Better than you did in the opening few races of your rookie season."

"Hey. I'm offended. At least I scored points on my debut." Chase said proudly.

"Points? I think you mean point. You finished 10th remember?" Lily told him pointing a finger in his direction.

"Still scored a point." Chase shrugged his shoulder in reply.

"Are you two ready to order?" A young female waitress asked as she stopped next to their table.

"I'll have a feta and chickpea salad." Chase ordered before looking to Lily to see what she was getting.

"I hate eating with you mid season." Lily said making a face at his choice of order. "I'll have the carbonara please."

"Of course." The young girl spoke after she pulled her gaze away from Chase before leaving with their order.

"I think she knows who you are." The pair laughed as the young girl told her colleagues about the presence of the Formula One driver in the restaurant.

"Anyway, tell me about Italy." Lily told Chase as he dove into talking about the race weekend.

For Jack, training both on and off the sim had become one of his top priorities since gaining his Formula One seat. He wanted to be physically and mentally ready for anything so there was never a doubt about his place in the top tier of motorsport.

Any free time he had he would spend training with his performance coach, James, at the gym or working at the factory with his engineers and strategists on the simulator.

And right now he was doing just that. He had been working out for nearly two hours at the gym with James after spending the morning running sim sessions for the next race in Barcelona, Spain.

"Think it's time to stop." James spoke as he walked over to Jack who was finishing a rep with a bottle of water for the F1 driver.

"Thanks." Jack replied as he stood up and accepted the cool liquid.

"You're pushing hard." James commented as he handed Jack towel too.

"I have to. I have to be ready for anything. I need to prove I belong here." Jack said as he used the towel to wipe his sweaty face.

"Belong in the gym?" James joked with a laugh.

"No you idiot. In Formula One." The Brit told him.

James had been a part of Jack's racing career since his karting days. The pair were extremely close and acted more like brothers than trainer and driver.

"Good joke though right?" James spoke causing Jack to roll his eyes.

"You really are an idiot. Do you know that?" Jack replied as he walked over towards his bag and phone.

"Hey, this idiot helped you go from karting, to Formula 2 and 3 champion and now into formula 1." James told him.

"I know. And I'm still forever grateful." Jack said as he wrapped his arm around James's shoulder causing the pair to smile.
