You take a deep breath before entering the coach's office, expecting to see the same scary looking coach you see during games and on magazines to be there
But what faced you was a beautiful woman wearing glasses instead
"Are you (Last name) (First name)?" She asks, pushing her glasses up and offering you a smile
You were gaping at her, only coming to your senses when she said your name
"Yea—yes I am...ma'am?" You smile awkwardly, shifting from one foot to another out of nervousness. It wasn't everyday you got to face such a good-looking woman
"No need to be so formal, you can call me Rei-san." She offers her hand out for you to grab
"Uh, then please feel free to call me by my first name." You shake her hand
"Then let's go, I'll show you around." She walks first to the door and waits for you to follow her
"Okay," You nod, following behin her as she walks to the field
You look around the place as you walk, the place was big and you can tell there was many people training, perhaps almost a hundred of them, not only that but it seems like they also have enough equipment for all of them
"Can I actually become a starting player here?" You unconsciously ask out loud, causing Rei to look over to you and smile, you had an awed look on our face
"If you're hard working enough, then I don't see why you can't." She answers as you freeze in surprise before covering your mouth with the palm of your hand, finally realizing that you said it out loud
"Shirasu, please come here!" She calls over someone with white hair
"This is (Last name) (First name), the transferee I was talking about the other day," She introduces you to him as you stare at the player in front of you
"And this is Shirasu Kenjiro, he's the..." You didn't hear the rest of Rei's introduction since you were staring at the player in front of you
He looked reliable, you haven't really read about him in sports magazine like Miyuki Kazuya and Yuki Tetsuya. But from the looks of it, he was dependable and someone who prefers to stay quiet...and someone who would fade on the background of his teammates
"(First name)?" Rei calls out your name, snapping you out from your thoughts as you jump slightly in surprise before offering a hand out to Shirasu
"Hello, I'm sorry I was spacing out, I'm (Last name) (First name). But you can call me by my first name." You greet him as he shakes your hand firmly
"Welcome to the team, I hope we get to play together." He shows you a small smile which you return, albeit with a more awkward one
"He will be showing you around here and the field," Rei says
"Huh?!" You turn to Rei who smiles at you, "Weren't you listening to what I said earlier?" She asks as you gulp
"I was kinda spacing out, sorry." You apologize as Rei sighs but she merely shakes it off
"Well anyway, I'll leave her in your hands Shirasu, good luck." She excuses herself, saying that she had to talk to the coach before leaving you with Shirasu
"Come this way then." He says
You nod as a response and follow him, "This is field A, that's where we often practice. But once there's in upcoming game, people in the first-string are the ones who use it." He says as both of you walks around
"Shirasu!" Someone calls out to him and stops in front of Shirasu, looking like he was going to tell him something but stops at the sight of you
"Hello," You try to smile, "I'm (First name), a transferee, nice to meet you." You bow
"I'm Kawakami Norifumi, welcome to the team." He bows as well, just as awkward as you were
"He's one of our first-string pitchers," Shirasu clasps a hand on Kawakami's shoulder as you stare at him in awe
"It's really not that great," He says in embarrassment, you can tell he was embarrassed, his face was a bit red after all
"I think it's amazing! In this large team you managed to get into the twenty lineup!" You gush as Shirasu cracks a smile at our obvious enthusiasm
You were just like the first-years when they first came. Nervous but at the same time excited...well they weren't so enthusiastic once introductions were over though
"Thank you then," Kawakami says, scratching his chin as he looks down
Shirasu chuckles at his friend's shyness, soon enough you said goodbye to Kawakami to continue your little tour
"Oh, who's this?" Someone says on the batting cage
"Ryou-san, this is the new transferee in our team." Shirasu introduces you once more as you smile
"Nice to meet you senpai." You bow as he hums before smiling
"Welcome to the team then." He says before the pitcher that was throwing for him calls his name
"He seems nice," You comment, trying to ease the quietness between you and Shirasu, you also didn't want to make him feel like you didn't want to be friends with him, that's the last thing you wanted!
"Yeah, he is." Shirasu nods, "So are the other seniors, they're very reliable." He says
"You also look reliable, are you a third year too?" You ask him and looking at him from the side
"No, I'm a second year like you." He answers your question
"Really? Do you think we'll be in the same class?" You couldn't help but hope that you were. Although he was a man of few words, he seems like he was very friendly so you wanted to be friends with him
"Probably, did they tell you what class you'll be in?" He asks as you two walk to field B
"This is the second field, of the first field is full, the others go here. This is also where players do their practice when there's a practice game going on at the first field." He explains as you nod
"There's really so many people here." You comment, "My old team probably didn't have half of the number here." You smile at He memory of your previous team. Even though you didn't get to win as much as Seidou, your time there wasn't spent in vain and you learned a lot about Baseball
"You look like you really liked your team." Shirasu comments, watching as your eye light up
"I did! Look, they even gave me this!" You start looking through your bag and after a few minutes, you held up the baseball that had all your previous teammates signatures
"You seem close to them." He smiles
"We are! It was a bit sad saying goodbye, but I had to move so we really didn't have a choice." You explain as you scratch your chin, "This team is really big so I can probably get along with a member or two." You were suddenly so talkative with Shirasu, it was a big transition from your timid self earlier
"You can probably make more than one or two." He replies
"I hope so!" You answer as he continues his tour, now it was more lighthearted and you two were conversing throughout the walk
"Wah, I hope you're going to help me to school tomorrow as well." You stretch as you and Shirasu walks to the dorm where you will be staying
"If we're in the same class then I'll try to talk to the class president." He offers you
"Really? Thank you! No wonder you're in the first-string, you're really cool you know!" You say brightly before you stop at your dorm
"I'll see you at dinner." He then leaves as you enter your room, the nerves of eating dinner with all those strangers once again intimidating you
Then those scenes of movies where the new student has nowhere to go and eats in the restroom—
You shake your head before starting to fix all the things in your bedroom, of course you know you can't finish it but it was good to start
After an hour, you dust off your pants before walking out the door and to the cafeteria. You take deep breaths to calm yourself down as you walk
Someone taps your back making you freeze and slowly turn out, you couldn't help but sigh in relief when you saw Shirasu with Kawakami beside him
"Do you want to eat dinner with us?" He asks you
"Please." You smile thankfully and walk alongside him, listening to his and Kawakami's conversation about some teacher
You follow them as they line up for the food
You could feel several eyes on you, although it made you uncomfortable, it also made you curious so you ended up looking up...but those people just averted their eyes
"Is everything okay?" Kawakami asks you as you shake your head
"I could just feel eyes on me," You try laughing it off but they were still following you
"Sawamura drop it." Kuramochi flicks Sawamura's forehead which made the first year flinch
"Kuramochi-senpai, you're also looking," Sawamura grumbles
You walk past them which made the two shut up, trying to act nonchalant as they eat
You ended up being in the same table as Shirasu, Kawakami, Zono and a few other second years
"So that's the reason you moved to Seidou." Zono nods after you finish telling them the reason why you had to move in the middle of the year
"Don't worry, you can count on us." He even points at himself
You giggle, "Thanks, I was really nervous earlier but I'm glad you guys seem nice." You smile before starting to eat your food

You walk out the office, you finally managed to get what class you would be in
"Here we are, (Last name)-san." The teacher smiles and enters the classroom before you, most likely introducing the new student (which is you)
"Why do we have to do this?" You shake your hand in hopes of relieving tension before entering the room once the teacher calls your over
You stand in front of the whole class, your confidence already starting to falter at all the eyes on you. But you caught sight of Shirasu, Kawakami and the two second year managers
"Please introduce yourself." Your teacher urges as you nod and try to smile
"Hello, my name is (Last name) (First name), but you can call me be by my first name and uh, I hope we get along." You hope your voice wasn't s shaky as your hands were
"Wonderful, you can go ahead and sit beside..." Your homeroom teacher points at the seat located at the second to the last row
You pass by Shirasu and gave him a little wave, a gesture he returns
"Hello," Your seatmate greets you as you smile back at him

"(Last name)!" The President of your class calls you over as you approach her
"Yes?" You ask politely
"I was actually supposed to show you around school but Shirasu-kun offered to do it instead, I heard you were in the same team and I just wanted to know if it was okay with you." She explains as your eyes widen before a smile forms on your lips
"Yes! It's fine with me!" You were pretty sure you sound too enthusiastic with the give she was giving you, "He also helped me yesterday so I'm kinda comfortable around him...if that makes sense," You explain yourself, the last thing you need was an issue arising about you in the first week in Seidou
"Okay then, there he is." She points behind her and you see Shirasu talking to Kawakami while looking over at you
"Okay, thanks then!" You say goodbye to your classmate before approaching Shirasu
"I'm so happy you're my tour guide again." You laugh
"Really?" He asks
"Yeah! You're nice and easy to talk too, and you're probably one of the few people I talked too for a long time." You were basically beaming while talking to him
"I'm glad that I managed to make you feel comfortable." He nods
Kawakami watches you two interact, there was an idea in the back of his head of what was about to come, but he just pushed it aside, you haven't even been in Seidou for a week, who knows if you find someone else to be closer with?
"It's nice to see you too Kawakami," You greet him with a smile
"Hello," He greets back
"Would you be coming with us?" You ask him
"Huh?" He was taken aback and looks at Shirasu who shrugs at him
"If you don't mind then," Kawakami has no choice but to agree, it was quite hard to say no when you looked really happy
He walks alongside you and Shirasu, he was also listening to Shirasu who was taking you to different important places at school such as the library, the cafeteria, faculty, clinic, gym, art room, science room and the comfort rooms
"Thanks Shirasu, you're a really big help! You too Kawakami! It was fun spending time with you." You say brightly that the two of them couldn't help but smile back
"It was nothing, just come to us if you have any problems." Shirasu tells you as Kawakami stares at him
It's only been a day since he met you and Shirasu already looks close to you. It can't be a crush can it? Kawakami thought you would be the first one to develop a crush on Shirasu
"Sorry if I ended up taking too much time of your lunch." You apologize to the two of them
"It's nothing, besides, we didn't have a class before lunch so we still have enough time to eat." Shirasu reassures you
"Oh okay," You sigh in relief, "Then as a thank you, would you like me to buy you drinks?" You offer the two of them, holding up your wallet
"You don't have to!" Kawakami tries stopping you
"But I want to," You insist, "Besides I felt really welcomed cause of you guys."
Kawakami still didn't know how to deny your suggestion, especially when you were smiling so brightly and it seems like Shirasu was struggling as well
"But shouldn't we be the one to treat you since you are the new student?" Shirasu asks you as you shake your head
"I really insist, so tell me what you want! I'll get it for you!" You continue to smile and the two found themselves unable to say no so they just told you the drinks they want

It's been a week since you came to Seidou, now you were currently walking to the office where the coach and the assistant director asked you to come
"Excuse me." You say as you enter the room after knocking
"Ah (First name), please come in." Rei says as you enter the room with a nervous look on your face
"Don't worry, we just want to know how it's been for you," Rei reassures you
"Okay, ma'am." You nod
"How's the team so far?" Rei asks as you stare at the coach beside her, he was scary and you never even got to exchange words with him so you were scared to say anything that might offend him
"The team's good, everybody's motivated to be able to play." You answer Rei's question as she nods
"Have you made friends?" She smiles
"Uh...yes I have." You nod with a bright look, "I've been hanging out with Shirasu and Kawakami for the past days, I also got to talk to Zono and a few other second years." You explain happily, the past few days were fun. It was tiring but everybody continues to help you
"There hasn't been anybody who you find annoying?" Kataoka asks as you nod
"I think they're all good." Sure you were ambushed by Sawamura who wanted to introduce himself but Haruichi managed to calm the first year down. Besides, they were nice kids, one was a bit energetic, one was too quiet and the last one was perhaps the normal one in their group of three
"Alright, how's training then?" Kataoka continues to ask as you take a minute to think of your answer
"It's hard." You nod, "But I think it's fulfilling since it can help me with my pitching and batting." You say
"I'm happy to hear that you seem to be having a good time here then, if there's any problem that arises then feel free to approach us adults." Rei says as you excuse yourself and leave the room
Thankfully their questions were the usual ones teachers asks the new students so it wasn't difficult to answer. Not to mention, it was true that the team was fun
"How did it go?" Shirasu asks once you went to the field
"They asked the usual questions so it wasn't too hard." You answer, you were currently in Field A where the coach called all of you over
For the week you've been in the team, you often switched from Field A to B so you didn't always have the chance to talk to Shirasu then
"Do you have any games coming up?" You couldn't help but ask as Shirasu stops from drinking from his water
"I think we have something next next week." He says, "The coach mentioned it to us the other day, it's probably to get ready for the upcoming tournament," Shirasu explains
"Then I'll watch it! I really wanna see you play." You say brightly, "Oh Zono's calling me, I'll talk to you later Shirasu!" You wave at him before running to Zono
You didn't notice it and neither did almost everyone in the team, but the tip of Shirasu's ears turned slightly pink
"Shirasu?" Kawakami calls Shirasu who blinks and looks at his friend who was giving him a worried look
"Are you okay?" He asks as Shirasu coughs
"Yeah, I was just thinking of something." Shirasu makes an excuse but Kawakami thinks he knows what Shirasu was thinking about, it wasn't something but rather someone
The days in Seidou were hard but slowly, you were getting the hang of things. You've also been getting along with the people not only in the team but with your classmates as well. But Shirasu and Kawakami were the people you often hang out with, during lunch, dinner and extra batting practice, the three of you were often together
"I wonder how they will do," You wonder out loud as you sit beside Zono, who keeps on shifting on his seat
"They'll probably win." Zono says
"Do you think Shirasu's starting?" You ask
"Most likely, he's one of the best fielders the team has." Zono says proudly as you nod
"I know! I see him at practice and whenever I do, I can't help but respect him! He's really a hard worker." You gush as Zono nods
"He's cool, although he doesn't get as much attention as Miyuki or Tetsu-san, he's just as reliable."
"Right?" You and Zono continue talking about the players while waiting for the game to finally start
"Oh it's finally here!" You say excitedly, it was your first time watching a game happening. Although it was just a practice game, from what you heard both the teams going against each other were strong
"You're going to be playing on the practice match for the second string, right?" Zono asks
"Huh?" You return a question, focus solely on the team
"You're going to be playing on the practice match for the second string." Zono repeats the question as you finally stray your eyes away from the field to look at Zono
"I am! I'm nervous but I hope I do well!" You remain smiling as Zono nods
"Don't worry, even though they didn't get in the starting lineup, everybody in the second string are strong." Zono crosses his arms in triumph
You nod as a reply, even though you've spent roughly a week and a half with them, you could tell they were just as amazing as the people in the first string, sometimes you even feel bad when you try slacking off, especially when almost all of them does extra practice at night
"I hope we can play together in the future too." You tell Zono
"Of-of course we will!" He almost yells that you couldn't help but chuckle
"Oh it's starting!" You say as the team goes to the field
You want to wave at Shirasu, but you figured that he may be focusing on the game, so you decide to just cheer along with the team
"Go Seidou!" You cheer
Shirasu unconsciously looks up and sees you cheering along with the rest of the team. He smiles as he goes to the left field, they were on defense and the other team was first on offense
You start feeling excited as the game progresses. The more you watch them play, the more motivated you were to be part of them
It must be nice to have such reliable teammates, you couldn't help but think that way. It was like the pitchers didn't have to worry about the ball since the catcher. Infielders and outfielders were all reliable
"He got it!" Zono shakes you as you shout in excitement when Shirasu caught the ball
"Nice one Shirasu!" You yell as he looks over to you and raises his fist
You clap as he returns to his position
Just as Zono mentioned, he didn't get as much as many attention as the others but throughout the game, he was always reliable. There was any hardly any balls that he couldn't catch and even when batting he was good
You want to play with him
"So cool..." You say absentmindedly as Zono stares at you, who was watching Shirasu
'Your secret's safe with me (First name).' Zono thinks to himself, joining you in cheering, it was for the team but your shouts were louder when Shirasu was involved
"You really like Shirasu, don't you?" Zono comments
"I do!" You grin before freezing at his question and your answer to it
"...As a friend." You add meekly as Zono furrows his eyebrows before nodding
It's been three weeks since you came to the school, you couldn't possibly form a crush in that short period of time
"That's right, my heart isn't so week." You whisper to yourself yet you were still staring at Shirasu

"Good job today." You hear Shirasu's voice as you finish for the day
"Shirasu! What are you doing here? Didn't you have training?" You ask him, walking alongside him
Another week has passed and you still didn't know what you were supposed to do with your supposed 'crush' on him, so you decided to act normally around him
"We has light training today, you seem to be working hard." He comments
You grin, "I'm getting ready for tomorrow! I made a goal for myself to strike out at least half of their batters...or at least three of them." You scratch your chin, truth be told you were still worried about the game. You were the pitcher so you want to do well for the team and for yourself
"I'm sure you can do it." Shirasu nods
"Thanks!" You beam at him, "Honestly, you're amazing you know? I always feel good when I talk to you, even though you aren't the most talkative person to be around." You say happily
Shirasu's eyes widen as he looks to the side, trying to hide his flushed face. Thankfully you were looking forward so you didn't really see him in that state
"I'll try and see if I can watch." Shirasu tells you before you enter your own dorm
"Okay! I'll see you later then at the cafeteria!" You wave at him and enter your room while Shirasu smiles to himself and walks to the second floor where his room was

"This is it, I've been waiting for this for a long time. I can definitely do this." You whisper to yourself as you softly slap your cheeks with both of your hands, "I have to do my best, I can do my best."
"You won't be able to do our best if you don't start going to the dugout." Ono says as you freeze and look up to him
"You heard that?" You ask in embarrassment
"I did." He admits, "But don't worry, I'm sure you can do it." He smiles at you before walking to the dugout
You blink before taking a deep breath, he was right. You can do it. You didn't train just so you can fail!
Once you got to the dugout, everybody was there and warming up
"Sorry I'm late!" You apologize to the coach who nods at you and tells you to avoid being late in the future
You join the others in warming up, even though the nerves were still there, everybody's trust made you feel more confident in yourself

You walk to the mound, as you stand on the mound, you can feel your heart beating wildly against your chest. It was your first game and you want to make sure that nothing happens
Ono gives you the signal as you take a deep breath before raising your leg and releasing the ball
"Oh (First name)'s actually good." Kuramochi comments from the sidelines as the other people in the first string watch the match
"What do you think?" Kawakami asks Shirasu who grows surprise at Kawakami's question
"She's working hard, so I can see why she's strong." Shirasu says calmly before returning his attention back to the game where you managed to get another strike from the batter
"Maybe she's going to end up taking someone's starting position~" Miyuki says as he looks at Sawamura
"Why are you looking at me Miyuki Kazuya?" Sawamura demands as Miyuki sneakers
It was getting noisy, but Shirasu was used to it. He's been in the team for a long time so everyone's noise isn't a surprise for him

You walk with the other second string players happily, although they managed to get three runs from you, you were happy that you managed to last for most the game and win
After the coach talks to the group, you proceed to the bath so you can clean yourself
Once you finish your shower, you walk out the baths and return to your room to place back your necessities before proceeding to the cafeteria for dinner
"Good job today." Shirasu comments as he walks beside you
"Thanks! Woah! You surprised me." You laugh lightly as Shirasu cracks a smile
"You did well." He nods
"You watched the game?" You ask in surprise, you thought that even though the coach would give them a day off, he would still be playing
"I did, along with the other people in the first-string." He informs you as you suck in a breath, you were thankful you didn't know or you would have felt more nervous
"Thanks for the support then." You smile as Shirasu nods and soon a comfortable silence surrounds the two of you
"(First name)!" Zono calls out as the silence between you and Shirasu disappears at the appearance of your loud friend
"Zono, is everything okay?" You ask him as he shakes you
"You won earlier! Congrats!" He congratulates you
"Thanks!"
"Yeah and—" He stops as he finally notices Shirasu who was beside you the whole time
Suddenly he moved back and covered his mouth with one hand, "I-I'm sorry to interrupt, I'll see you later again!" He shouts as he runs away from your duo
"What was that...about?" You turn to Shirasu who shrugs, he also has no idea on what goes through his teammates mind
But he was thankful for having the chance to be alone with you. He wasn't sure when it started as well but he finds himself enjoying the quiet air around you two, or when you start talking because of excitement
'Huh, maybe Kawakami is right, maybe I do have a crush.' Shirasu thinks to himself, remembering the conversation he had with Kawakami the week before

More days passed and the more time you spend with Shirasu, the more you find yourself thinking about him. But the tournament was about to start and you didn't know whether it was good for him to suddenly receive a confession from someone during those times
"It is pretty usual, I guess." Kawakami answers you when you asked him about people confessing to the players in the team
"Why, are you planning to do it?" You didn't expect Kawakami to ask his own question so you ended up choking in surprise
"No! I have a friend who wants to confess." You glance sideway, you even hum while Kawakami continues to stare at you
"Well, your friend has nothing to worry about. Whatever happens will not affect the players when on the field." Kawakami says
You sigh in relief, thinking that Kawakami didn't see through your excuse
Well, if it wasn't going to affect them, then it was fine, right? Besides, Shirasu was always on the calm and rational side. There's definitely nothing to worry about

"Where are you going?" Kawakami asks Shirasu who looks up from his phone and back at Kawakami
"(First name) says she has something to say." Shirasu says calmly as Kawakami nods, smiling to himself as he watches his friend leave
"Is it happening? Is it finally happening?" Zono approaches Kawakami with gleaming eyes. It seems like Kawakami wasn't the only one anticipating about your relationship with Shirasu
"Over here!" You call out to Shirasu as you stand by the entrance of Field B. Usually there wasn't many people there during that time so it somehow helped in calming your nerves down
"Hey, did you want to practice batting together?" He asks as he approaches you
"No." You say, your voice shaky as your hands form a fist before finally looking at Shirasu who was staring at you
"I like you." You say in a straight forward manner. Were you nervous? Definitely, you can still feel your hands shaking along with your legs
"A lot, so please make it fast if you don't feel the same way." You add the last part quietly as Shirasu blinks before grabbing your hands that were still in fists before rubbing his thumb so it would relax
"You'll end up hurting yourself if you continue doing that." He says calmly before looking back at you
"Thank you for telling me how you feel, now I can feel at ease since you feel the same way I do." He smiles
"You like me back?" You ask to make sure your ears was right
"I do." He confirms his words earlier as you finally smile
"You like me back!" You cheer grabbing his hand in yours and shaking it lightly
You freeze when you realize what your were doing, you got too excited and since you were always so comfortable with Shirasu, the reaction was normal for you
"I do." He smiles, also holding your hands in his as you blush
"Then..."
"Please let me ask the next question," Shirasu cuts you off as you gulp and nod, still feeling flustered
"Will you go out with me and be my girlfriend?"
