you cover your ears, "man i'm sitting right next to you!"

atsumu pouts. "i'm not scared, y/n."
"oh, no?" you start, changing your position so you're facing him instead of your lunch.
"so you're not scared that the new setter will take your place, and play all the matches at nationals? you're not scared that the new setter is better than you, or might have a better chemistry with the rest of the team? tsumu, you're not scared at all?"
the male pouts, "stop it y/n," he mumbles, leaning his head on your shoulder. "don't bully me."
you chuckle at your friend and pat his hair. "it's okay, you can be scared. there's no need, but you can."
he sighs, "i'm just excited and don't want my place taken away from me."
you smile at him, "i don't think kaykay would be someone that's eager to steal someone's place. they're new at school and most likely just want to make friends, and have fun while doing sports. just give them a chance! we'll see what they'll be like when playing today."
he nods, "you're right."
atsumu smiles while keeping his head leaning on your shoulder.
he sighs and closes his eyes. "the test today was hard too."
"you had a test?"
"mhm," he mumbles.
your phone starts to vibrate and you take a quick look at your phone. you can see your buddy texting you, and all you want is to text him back.
atsumu sees it and smiles. "samu is probably getting some food, i'll join him. i'll see you in a few minutes!"
he stands up and pats your head, "see ya in a bit, y/n!"
you chuckle and wave at him. "okay, see ya in a bit pisshead twin!"
he sticks out his tongue and walks towards the canteen to get to his brother and get some food.
