Lucas and Nathan were definitely in the school.
I had called Whitey to tell him that Karen would be picking up Nathan, Lucas, and Brooke.
That's when he told me they weren't on the bus.
Nathan had went into Tree Hill to get Haley out.
Lucas had went after him to stop him but then went into Tree Hill to find Peyton for Brooke.
Lucas came out with Peyton in his arms.
All of the SWAT Officers had their guns aimed at him.
One of them took her from Lucas.
"Who are you?"
"Lucas Scott."
"We still have to..."
"Yeah."
They were patting him down.
"Even though I'm on the Basketball team. Why the hell would I put that in jeopardy to bring a gun to school?"
"Anything can cause a person to snap or breakdown. It's built up over time."
"Huh. You mean like my brother's jerk moments?"
"Exactly."
"That's what Jimmy is responding to. Nathan is the biggest jock and a jerk."
"But not the oldest, right?"
"No. I am."
A look passed in his eyes.
"Don't get that look." Keith told Lucas.
"Mm?"
"You know what I'm talking about. Whatever the hell is going through your head right now. Don't even try it." He told him.
"You're clear."
"Thanks."
"Lucas Scott!" I called when Lucas ran over to the side door.
"You're not my Dad!"
Keith and me were surprised he actually blurted that out.
Lucas opened the side door.
He went back into Tree Hill.
Keith was barely keeping a straight face.
"I'm so glad you find this funny."
"Well, one of your sons has the guts to publicly disown you."
Nathan
"Jimmy, come on, man. Just let Nathan, Haley, and Mouth go. We can talk about this." It was Lucas on the other side of the door.
"No!"
"Alright. Let's talk through the door, okay?"
"Mm."
"I know how much jerks jocks can be, alright?"
"No, you don't because you're one of them!"
"I wasn't always, Jimmy! I used to be unpopular too until I joined the Basketball team! I know how much of a jerk the biggest jock can be, alright?!"
Jimmy looked back at me.
"Because he's my brother, alright?!"
"Half-brother!"
"Alright, alright! We can go with that, alright?!"
"Mm."
"You need to stop making him yell at you through the door!" I yelled at Jimmy.
"Shut up!"
"He has a heart condition, Jimmy. His heart will just give out on him. Do you understand that?!"
"I don't believe you! He wouldn't be playing Basketball if he had a heart condition! No Coach let's a player play with a heart condition!"
"Whitey doesn't know, Jimmy. Luke didn't tell him and he stopped taking his meds so he could keep up with the others. He needs to stop yelling through the door." Haley told Jimmy.
He opened the door.
"We can talk but nobody moves."
Luke's chest was heaving up and down.
Haley put her hand on my arm.
"It's gonna be alright."
"As I was saying, I know how cruel Nathan can be. He was to me when I first joined the Basketball team. Scared I was gonna kick his ass."
I laughed.
"Yeah, right. He's not scared of anything."
"I wouldn't be so sure of that, Jimmy."
"How so?"
"He came in this school for a reason, right? We both could've stayed on the bus with Whitey and the team. But we chose to come in after people we care about."
He stepped closer to him.
"I know you're not gonna shoot anybody, man. Shooting Peyton was an accident."
Jimmy had the gun in his hand.
"I've been where you are, Jimmy. I bought the gun and I planned on using it. My Uncle's voice in the back of my head stopped me. I know there's a voice in your head telling you this is wrong."
"Not this."
"Yes."
"How'd you get Nathan to leave you alone?"
"Oh, it wasn't me who got him to leave me alone. It was Haley."
"I had ulterior motivates."
"And then he eventually left me alone when he found out how good I am at Basketball."
Lucas held his hand out.
He placed the gun in it.
"Nathan, get Haley, Skills, Mouth, and Marcus out of here, alright?"
"Alright."
Skills, Mouth, and Marcus walked in front of us.
Haley walked in front of me.
"It's alright, Jimmy. I'm not going anywhere. I'll sit right here and listen to you talk, alright?"
"Yeah."
"Alright."

"We have confirmation that it is Jimmy Edwards."

"Alright. Let's talk through the door, okay?"

Mouth, Marcus, Haley, and Nathan followed him out.
"Where's the other one?"
"He's with Jimmy. He got the gun from him."
"You are..."
"Nathan Scott."
"How many Scotts are here?"
"Five."
"Jeez."
"There's Dan, Keith, Lucas, Haley, and me."
Lucas
I was listening to Jimmy vent about jocks being assholes.
He stopped.
"Alright. Ready?"
"Yeah."
"Come on."
Dan
Jimmy walked out of the side door.
Lucas was behind him.
He gave the gun to one of the SWAT Officers.
"Thank you."
"Of course."
"And you said Heroes die." Nathan told Lucas.
Both of them laughed.
He wrapped his arm around his shoulders.
"Let's get the hell out of here."
Nathan, Lucas, and Haley walked away together.
"Jimmy Edwards, you are under arrest for the unlawful possession of a weapon. You have the right to remain silent. If you give up that right, anything you say can and will be held against you in a Court of law. You have the right to an Attorney. If you cannot afford one, one will be provided for you. Do you understand these rights as I have read them to you?"
"Yes."
They cuffed his arms behind his back.
"I'm sorry. Both of you." Jimmy apologized to Keith and me.
"Yeah."
"See ya in a year!" Nathan called.
"Nathan."
"Well..."
Lucas laughed.
"Man, why you got to be so mean to people?"
He grinned.
"Don't--"
Haley giggled as Nathan slung her over his shoulder.
Lucas laughed.
"What are your kids doing?"
"They aren't allowed to leave without a parent."
"Technically, Nathan can since he's emancipated."
"Technically, it's a school rule that he's not allowed to."
"Well, they're staying on grounds."
They were play fighting after he put her down.
"Boys!" The Principle called.
They laughed as they separated.
"See? Brothers. None of that half-brother crap."
Haley laughed as Lucas picked her up.
"These girls think they're heavy or something, Nate."
"I know."
"Take yours."
He laughed, taking her from him.
"You two are nuts."
"Oh, you love us for it."
"Yeah."
"Come on, man."
"All students are out?"
"Yeah."
"Tell the lady in the Gym to cross Nathan and Lucas off."
"Got it."
"Nathan and Lucas Scott are leaving with their Dad."
"Copy that, boss. With them, that's everybody."
"Alright."
Lucas ran off, laughing.
Nathan ran after him, laughing.
"I'm gonna beat you to River Court!"
"Yeah, right!"
"So, what's wrong with Lucas, Danny?" It was Whitey.
"I guess he'll tell you when he's ready to."
"HCM is hereditary, isn't it?"
I paused.
"Lucas is the one who got it instead of Nathan, right?"
"Yeah."
"But I'll wait for him to tell me."
"Good."
