A wolf sits on a cliff. He is framed by the full moon, elegant as one might expect. There is a sadness in his eyes.
The sky is tinged with hues of orange and pink. It is twilight, but the dusk is quickly fading. His time to reminisce is quickly fading.
He thinks about it too much. What happened with the Mirror, that is. What happened when she left for good. He shouldn't.
But still, the wolf howls. But still, he mourns the one he never should have met.
None of it should have happened, he supposes. But it was destined to eventually.
If not to him, then someone else.
A great noise like thunder builds in his chest. The howl pierces the night and all at once the deep sadness settles.
He is a hero, and this is his duty.
He is a wolf, and the moon is high.
