Next day, Dev was showing his library to Sonakshi.
Dev- London ki yeh most favourite library sirf iss liye hai kyunke yahaan cheezon ko manage karne ka aur organised rakhne ka............... (Dev saw something. Sonakshi followed his gaze.) .....khaas khayaal rakha jata hai.
There, Gabbar had scattered all the books on floor and was dusting them. Seeing the scene in front of him, dev didn't know what to speak.
Sonakshi- Organised??? Hmmm.
Dev (to Gabbar)- Yeh kya hai??
Gabbar- sir aap hi ne toh kaha tha ke poori library ki safaai karni hai. Maine ek ek kitaab dekhi, mujhe kahin mitti nahi dikhi.
Sonakshi was trying to suppress her laugh. Dev literally wanted to break Gabbar's head, but controlled himself.
Dev- time kitna lagega issey theek karne ko??
Gabbar- kuch jyada nahi, bas yahi do dhai ghante.
Dev takes a deep breath to control himself.
Dev- 15 minute mein survey team library check karne aa rahi hai.
Sonakshi- tum tension kyun le rahe ho?? (To Gabbar) Gabbar bhaiya, aap mere saath chalo.
Gabbar- chalo.
Dev was seeing sonakshi's actions. She, approximately in 10 minutes, sets all the scattered books on the table like a Christmas tree and decorates it. Dev was confused.
Sonakshi (to Gabbar)- sorted. Hmm.
Sonakshi goes to dev.
Sonakshi- kaisa laga??
Dev, making a crying face, shook his head.
Sonakshi (annoyed)- Really?? Aisa karo, ek ek book uthaao aur rakho rack mein phir.
Just then, sonakshi's phone rang and she went to attend it.
Gabbar- sir, ab hum kya karein??
Dev- wait hi kareinge ab toh. Dekhte hain kya banta hai.
Just then, sonakshi came back. Now, she didn't know what to do.
Sonakshi- a..... chalo theek hai, all the best.
Saying this, sonakshi ran away. Now dev was getting tensed seeing a big pahaad of books kept in the centre of the library.

The STM praises dev and goes ahead to check further. Dev looks towards the book arrangement and feels happy. He immediately calls sonakshi.
Dev (excited)- Sonakshi!! Sonakshi!! Sonakshi!!! Tumhe pata hai aaj yahaan kya hua?? Abhi........ (Dev's smile disappeared and eyes widened.) Kya!!!!..........Kahaan???

An aunty- dekh kya rahe ho bittu!! Bana issey Jamaai.
A tank like moti aunty was holding a toothpick like patli sonakshi. A man was beating Vikky. Elena was sitting on sofa, trying to stop him.
Elena- bhaiya, please matt maaro!!
Bittu (angrily)- bataaun tujhe!!??
Elena- nahi toh maar lo.
Vikky (shocked)- Shabash-e-tere. Thud bang thud boom thaa aa!! Aai!! Oohh!!
Motty aunty- 5 minute mein inke gharwale aa gaye toh aagaye, nahi toh dono ko peechhe le ja kar kaat ke gaad dena.
All 3 were shocked.
Vikky- waise aunty ji, abhi abhi humari police ki baat nahi huyi thi?? Unhi ko call kar lo.
Just then, Dev came there.
Dev (joining hands)- Namastey.
Motty aunty- Namastey. Dev tum?? (To bittu) bittu.
Bittu again stepped forward to beat vikky.
Motty aunty- arrey baat toh sunn le. Yeh Bejoy bhaisahab ka beta hai. Delhi wale. Bahut achhe log hain.
Dev clears his throat and sits on sofa near Vikky. Vikky sets his jacket and getting up from floor, sits on sofa, besides dev.
Vikky- mai toh aapko kabse keh raha tha aunty ji, ke mai khandani ladka hoon. Yeh mere bhaiya hain.
Dev (to vikky)- neeche baith.
Vikky- han???
Dev- neeche baith!!!
Vikky again sits down on the floor.
Dev- jis hisaab se tu mitti paleet kar raha hai na, khandani toh jaldi hi mitt jayegi. (To motty aunty) isski taraf se I'm sorry. Aapko inke khilaaf jo sakht action lena hai, le sakte ho.
Bittu- action toh ab taya ji leinge. Aa rahe hain.
Elena- nahi nahi bhaiya. (To dev) yeh toh aapko bahut pehle se bataana chate the. Aapse darte the.
Just then, Gulbahar came there.
Gulbahar- kaun hai jo meri phool jaise bhatiji ko vergala ke leja raha hai???
Both sonakshi and Vikky were shocked seeing Gulbahar.
Dev- Namastey Gul.......
Gulbahar- Nahi Devrath mere dost. Mujhe tumse yeh umeed nahi thi.
Dev- nahi bhai. Aapne galat samjha. Mai nahi. Woh, chhota bhai.
Gulbahar (in very serious tone)- Dev, mere paas aa.
Dev goes near him.
Gulbahar- Dev, hum bahut mushkil mein aa gaye hain mere dost.
Dev (tensed)- kaunsi mushkil??
Gulbahar- Global warming.
Sonakshi and Vikky look towards each other and give "is he serious" kind of look.
Gulbahar- mere dost, vigyanik (science) kshetra (field) mein ki huyi praptiyaan ka be-zarurat prayog hona manushyata aur jeev jantu ko tabaah kar raha hai mere dost.......
Even dev gives a very sad look, as if he would cry in sadness, hearing what people are doing to the world.
Vikky holds his head. Sonakshi just gawks at Gulbahar. Even she held her head.
Gulbahar (cont.)- ..... jis ne prakriti aur Jan jeevan ko bahut prabhavit kiya hai.
Dev (in a serious tone)- sahi baat hai.
Bittu- ladki ke baare mein soch lein??
Gulbahar- hmm. Shadi. Koi uplabdi nahi hai.
Gulbahar hits vikky with his foot. Vikky opens his eyes.
Gulbahar- ghar se bhaag ke shadi kar lena, Court marriage karwana koi uplabdi nahi hai. Uplabdi hai bulb ki khoj karna. Uplabdi hai manushya ki pragatiyon ki padtol karna. (Gives vikky a book) Yeh book padh. Aur pheron se pehle isska adhyaan kar ke mere saath discussion karo beta.
Vikky looks towards elena and sonakshi making a crying face.

At night, dev was sitting in his room, solving the rubics cube. Sonakshi came to him.
Sonakshi- kya hua??
She goes and sits on the corner of the bed. Dev didn't speak anything.
Sonakshi- by the way, vikky ko tumhare asoolon ki wajah se yeh kadam uthaana pada. Sabke liye asool zaruri nahi hote. Tumhara pata nahi asoolon se kya pyar hai.
Dev- Asooli insaan asoolon ke bina nahi reh sakta, jaise machhli paani ke bina nahi reh sakti.
Sonakshi (taking a deep breath)- aapko pata hai, kayi machhliyan paani mein hi marr jati hain.
Dev stopped the movement of his hands. Silence prevailed in the room. After some time, sonakshi decided to change the topic.
Sonakshi- achha meri baat suno. Kal na mere friend circle mein ek function hai aur tum invited ho. Aur kal ko tum taiyar rehna. PLEASE.
Dev- mujhe nahi jana.
Sonakshi- yaar, har baat mein tumne na hi bolni hoti hai pehle?? Han?? Maine specially unhe kaha hai ke mera dost aayega. Ab asoolan toh yahi hai ke tum saath chalo. Par agar tum aadmi hi be-asool ho toh.....
Dev immediately looks towards sonakshi. He glares her. Sonakshi was waiting for his reply.
Dev- hmm. Chalunga.
Sonakshi (happily)- Really!!! (Forwarding hand) Give me a high5!!
Dev- sanitise nahi kiye huye tumhare haath. Jo kitaanu (germs) hai na, interchange ho sakte hain.
Sonakshi- achha achha achha.
Saying this, sonakshi rubs both her hands on dev's shoulder and ran away. He glares sonakshi and gives a disgusting look seeing the part where sonakshi rubbed her hands. He tried not to bother, but was not able to. Hence, he got up and went to change.

Next day.
Dev and sonakshi were in sonakshi's friend circle function. Everyone was seeing one of them performing, even dev, but sonakshi was just looking towards dev and smiling.
Jenny (the one who was performing) ends her performance and comes down from stage. Sonakshi goes up the stage.
Sonakshi- hey Jenny, you were so good!! Wasn't she??
Joseph- we love you Jenny!!
Sonakshi- Joseph, we missed you last Sunday.
Joseph- aww cutie!! I missed you too.
Dev was gritting his teeth when Joseph was addresing sonakshi as cutie. It wasn't that she was not cute. She is cute, but the thing which irked him was that someone else spoke that. Chucking his thoughts, he now concentrated on sonakshi.
Sonakshi- as you all know we hang out here, we chill, we laugh and so many talented people light up THIS stage all the time. Today, I have a secret to tell you. We have a very talented person sitting here with us right now. Would you like to see him perform??
Everyone- yes!!!!
Sonakshi- so please welcome Dev!!!!
Everyone claps. Dev was surprised. He didn't know how to react. He gets up and goes near sonakshi.
Dev (whispers to her)- na maine kabhi logon ke saamne gaaya, aur na mujhse gaa hoga.
Sonakshi- listen. Mai tumhe majboor nahi karungi. (Pointing towards the chair on stage through her eyes) Ek yeh chair hai, (pointing towards the chair on which dev was initially sitting) aur ek woh chair hai. Tumhara jahaan dil karta hai baith jaao. Par yeh jo moment hai na,issey baad mein yaad kar ke yeh matt kehna ke "Kaash!". Yeh jo "Kaash" hai na, yeh saari zindagi tang karta hai.
Saying this, sonakshi came down the stage and heads towards her chair. But, before she could reach there.......
Dev- Kuch khushk maayus si thi zindagi, Usne badlon mein bandh ke khushyan bhejdi..
Humne chaha tha har pal ko jeena. Humne chaha tha har pal ko jeena.
Usne ek pal mein zindagi dedi.
Sonakshi turns back and looks at dev. Dev started singing. Dev sings hawaaein song.
With every stanza, he would reminisce one or the other memory with sonakshi. He sang whole song,just looking at sonakshi.
Sonakshi was highly influenced by him. She was seeing the depth in his eyes. Both were looking into each other's eyes.
When the song ended, she cheered for him, stood up and clapped. She went on stage. She was super happy and was about to hug dev, but realised what she was going to do and hence controlled herself. She smilingly approved his song.

Dev and sonakshi were going back home. They were walking on the road.
Sonakshi- agar mai na puchhti toh tum thank you nahi kehte na??
Dev- nahi, mai soch hi raha tha.
Sonakshi- arghhhh!! Yaar itna kaise sochte ho tum?? Jitna tum sochte ho na, utne mein ek ladka ladki ko propose kar ke 5-7 bachche paida kar ke duniya ghumaata phire. Aur ek tum ho. Itna sochte ho ek thank you kehne ke liye.
Dev was walking behind sonakshi and seeing her actions.
Sonakshi- uss din sorry feel karne ko bhi, agle din feel kiya tha. Poori raat baith ke socha hoga. Pakka haina. Sorry kahun ke na kahun. Kahun ke na kahun. *laughs* haina!!
Dev also smiles seeing her cute face.
Sonakshi- itna nahi sochna chahiye. Itni si toh zindagi hai. Jo kehna hai keh lena chahiye, jo karna hai kar lena chahiye.
Dev- jo insaan sochta hai, agar aage se usska positive response na aaye phir??
Sonakshi- aur agar aa jaye phir??

Sonakshi- waise tumse khud toh kaha nahi jaayega. Mujhe lagta hai mujhe hi kehna padega.
Dev's eyes widened. He looks everywhere but her.
Sonakshi- bata do, kaun ladki hai?? Mai baat kar loongi uss se.
Dev lowers his eyes.
Sonakshi- Dekho, itni si dosti toh mai nibha sakti hoon.
Dev- darta hoon yeh soch ke, ke kahin humsafar banane ke safar mein usski dosti bhi na gawa doon.
Sonakshi- soch ke na pyar nahi sauda hota hai.
Both look towards each other. Just then Sonakshi's phone rang. She picked up the call.
Sonakshi (on call)- hi dad!!..... Yes...... (Chuckles) hello, mummy se keh do, mai nahi ghar aati. Iss baar unka ghamand tod ke lautungi...... ha ha. Sorry, aur mai kahoon?? Ok bye dad.
Saying this, she declines the call.
Sonakshi- hm. Sorry keh do.
Dev- tumhe pata hai, agar mai tumhe sorry na kehta toh kya hum dost hote?? Tch. Kabhi nahi. Sonakshi, sorry ek chhota sa word hai aur bade bade rishte bacha leta hai. Tumhe nahi lagta ke tum apne gharwalon se bahut misbehave karti ho??
Sonakshi- Tchh. Mujhe nahi lagta.
Saying this, sonakshi laughs.
Dev- yeh koi mazaak wali baat nahi. Unki bhi tumse koi umeedein hongi. Unhone apna itna keemti time tum pe sacrifice kiya. Tum unke paas baithna toh door, unse phone pe dhang se baat bhi nahi karti.
Sonakshi's smile disappeared.
Dev- sonakshi, Maa baap SE nahi, maa baap KO jeetna chahiye.
Sonakshi- baat toh sahi kahi hai. Mujhe samajh bhi aa gayi hai. (Dev smiles) Par dev, aap kitna apna time dete ho apni family ko??
Dev looks towards sonakshi. She had a point. Even he never gave proper time to his family.
Sonakshi- mai zarurat se jyada be-fikri ki wajah se apni family se door hoon, aur tum zarurat se jyada asoolon ki wajah se apni family se door ho.
Dev was forced to think about sonakshi's words.
