"Just how the heck do the guys do this all the damn time!" Soo-Ah gasped finally getting space to breathe as she clung to Sora's jacket for dear life.
"I've been to airports with them once or twice, but it hasn't been this crazy in a long time." Mi Eun gasped, finally feeling like there was enough air for her to take in.
"Are you guys okay?" Sora asked. "Yeah Eunnie," Jungkook's soulmate, Mirae huffed. She was the first soulmate of Bangtan, and she had seen more of this airport madness than any of the girls. But this was not something you could easily get used to.
"We're 'stylists' and we got mobbed like this." Mi Eun gasped, "I wonder what's gonna happen to the both of them." Sora, Soo-Ah and Mirae shuddered at distant screaming and collective murmuring that belonged to the countless fans, cameramen, reporters, news outlets etc who had flocked to the Incheon airport to get a glimpse of Kim Namjoon and his soulmate.
The said people, who were just pulling up to the airport, were beyond nervous. "You ready, babe?" Namjoon glanced at his soulmate. "Will it make a difference?" Mishil mustered a shaky smile, making Namjoon exhale softly.
"Not much but my heart will be at ease." He gave their joined hands a light squeeze. "Last chance Mish, you can still back out." Mishil rolled her eyes at his persistence. "Say that one more time, and I'll throw you out of this car." Namjoon laughed at her annoyed expression before letting it be. "Oh, there they go," Mishil exclaimed softly, as a car door opened up.
Jungkook stepped out of the black van, looking effortlessly handsome as always and was greeted it ear-cringing screams and cameras clicking away like crazies. Which, didn't really phase the boy as his cheeks curved upwards behind the black mask he wore. He bowed to the reporters and waved at the fans.
"He warmed up to you surprisingly well," Namjoon remarked, his cheeks curving upwards, clearly endeared by the youngest. "Well, he loves you so I guess I got the perks of being 'his Namjoon Hyung's soulmate'," Mishil laughed using the air quotes thingy. "But Yoongi really surprised me. I didn't expect him to let me in soo easily." "You're too loveable not too," Mishil cringed at his cheesy words and flirty smile.
"Ah shut it! Taehyung and Hoseok are out." The same window-rattling screams and feverous camera clicks greeted Taehyung as he stepped out of the van, bowing and waving.
"He always dresses like a wandering painter," Mishil remarked, watching the guy with fond eyes. "Even then, he gives me the impression of a cute little bear, except when he's on stage. Damn, that's a wholly different story. And wow, Hobi looks soo good, as always!"
All while her soulmate watched with a cute little pout on his face. "First Hyung Sik Hyung now Taehyungie and Hope-ah?! Do you ever simp for me babe?!" He whined, sulking.
Mishil laughed at his reaction before shyly kissing his cheek. "I don't hold hands with either of them. I don't kiss either of them. I don't love either of them the way I love you. Now tell me Joonie, should I love you as I love them?" "My IQ 148 has had its impact on you babe," He leaned in for a kiss but got interrupted by the driver Hyung who drove them here. "YAH!! Quit it, there's a single person in this van beside you both." The older man's whiny, angry voice made the soulmates laugh bashfully.
"Why, may I ask? You still haven't found your soulmate?" Mishil questioned, genuinely curious. The older man laughed, "I did but she passed away a while back." Now that changed the whole mood in the car.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked," Mishil said quietly. "It's not your fault, dear. It happens. We lived our life fully." He sighed, his eyes growing misty.
"Finding our soulmates is hard. Losing them is even harder. Usually when a soulmate dies, the other follows soon after. Maybe 1 year or 2. When she died, I thought I was gonna go soon. But I didn't realize that the 'soon' meant 6 years or more."
The soulmates solemnly listened in to the man; his sadness, longing and love for his deceased lover were very clear in his words.
"Usually when the soulmates leave the Earth with large time gaps between them, it usually means that the Universe has more in store for the other soulmate. Maybe more goals, more things they must do or something that only the Deity knows. That's why I'm still here. Because I still have something I must do." He wiped his eyes and smiled at the couple who looked like they were about to break down crying, any moment now. "Raise our daughter until she's capable of taking care of herself." He offered them a bright smile. "You guys remind me of us when we were your age. When I see you guys, I get reminded of the memories I made with her."
"I'm sure wherever she is, she remembers you too, Hyung." Namjoon smiled, squeezing the older man's hand while the other remained joined to Mishil's. "Can I ask you something, if it's okay with you?" Mishil shyly looked up at the man. "Anything kid," "A soulmate passing away, how does that work for the other soulmate? How do you survive without healing?"
"He is right." The man chuckled, "His smart brain is having its impact on you." "You guys are talking like I was dumb before!" She whined, clearly done with the teasing. Yeah sure, she wasn't as smart as her soulmate but really though? Why's everyone saying that?"
"Anyways," The man smiled, "To answer your question, when a soulmate passes away, the need to heal is gone since one-half of the connection is gone. The soulmate's bruises dry up and basically, you're left alone forever. Physically, it's not much. But the loss of your soulmate will leave you with a permanent sense of loneliness. You start the day missing them, you end the day doing the same. In the midst of this time, there might be instances where you are happy and jovial. But in the end, you'll still go back to wishing they were here to share this moment with you." A tear slipped past the older man's eye and he wiped it away, cracking a genuine smile at the soulmates.
"Now don't worry about this happening to you guys. Universe has thrown enough your way, so I doubt that it'd hurt you both this way." He smiled, glancing at the bodyguard outside. "With that being said, it's time for you guys to get out there." The doors opened.
Namjoon got off first and smiled as Mishil climbed out, she heard the older man.
"Cherish each other," She offered him a soft smile before finally stepping out.
She stood beside him, his hand snaking around her waist. Cameras clicked away at lightning speed, and fans screamed, a mixture of angry and happy screams but who cared?
His hands were on her waist, her hands discreetly holding onto the crisp material of his shirt, they walked past the overwhelmingly loud bustling crowd. There were times when Mishil felt like she was gonna pass out but all thanks to the large hand that held her close to him; she felt at ease.
The whole time, he stayed close enough for her to feel his body heat through the crisp white button-up he wore. It was almost over but Namjoon suddenly stopped at the top of the stairs, which led them to the immigration.
"We should wave," He suggested. "Yeah, you should..." Namjoon clicked his tongue at her response. "Mish, I said 'we'," Before she could protest, Namjoon turned back and gave a bright smile to the fans. The screams were soo loud and cheerful and it actually calmed Mishil down.
She hesitantly waved to the fans, making them explode in cheers once again. Though it was quieter than the ones for Namjoon she got it.
"You heard Hyung, didn't you?" He asked her, once they were finally seated and off for LA. "We're in this for life. Sure you can handle it?" Mishil just smiled and held his hand tighter. "You aren't gonna get rid of me, that soon, Joon." "Don't want to, anyway." He gently pecked her lips.
Some hours into the journey, Mishil felt his head on her shoulder. He fell asleep just like that, glasses on and the book he was reading, still open in his hands. "So much for the responsible leader," Mishil smiled, gently taking his glasses off and putting the book away. Sighing content, she covered him and herself in a knit blanket that he used back at home and placed her head on top of his; almost instantly falling asleep.
Meanwhile, 35000 feet under them, social media was going bonkers. After all, it isn't every day that the leader of the biggest boyband in the world shows off his soulmate. And damn did he look proud of her...
HELLO, MY DEW DROPS!! A NEW CHAPTER FOR YOU ALL!!!
So, this is a filler-ish kinda chapter before the chaos in LA happens.
Also, the conversation between Driver Hyung and the soulmates needed to happen.
*First of all, yes! I did use Hyuna and Dawn's picture, cause THEY COUPLE GOALS!!!*Second, none of these pictures is real. All of them are edited if it isn't obvious.
*Third, there is a reason I did not reveal Jungkook's soulmate's name. Cause in the original story, the author didn't really specify her name. It was from the reader's perspective or JK's but her name was never specified. And I wanted to respect that but I couldn't just keep calling her 'Jungkook's soulmate' so I finally broke and gave her a name. Hope that makes sense.
