Jace's POV
I went to open the door but, I saw her.
"Shit. Baby I-"
She started running. I slapped the back of my dad's head.
"Go fuck yourself Benjamin. We're so much better without you."
I opened the door and ran upstairs. I looked in my room.
Nope.
Not here.
I ran around until I found a locked door. I knocked.
"Claire? Are you in there?"
I heard sniffling.
"Evie? Honey open the door."
"N-no."
"Why?"
"I don't wanna see anyone."
"Why?"
"Everyone probably thinks the same thing your dad and my step sister do."
"Baby open the door."
"Why?"
"I don't want you to be alone. Please don't make me kick the door open."
I heard the door unlock. The door opened and I walked in. Evelyne slammed the door shut. I grabbed her and started hugging her. She burrowed her face into my chest.
"Listen to me. Benjamin is a jack ass. You're not what he says you are. Okay?"
She put her chin on my chest and looked up at me.
"A-are you sure?"
"I'm positive."
I kissed her forehead.
"Want me to beat him up for you?"
She sniffled.
"No no. It's okay."
"You sure? Cause I don't mind. I have a lot of anger that, I could take out on him."
She said something under her breath. The door was opened. I looked over my shoulder. I saw Benjamin. He shoved me out of the way. I was thrown out of the room.
"HEY!"
I heard Evelyne screaming.
"Baby?! What's going on?!"
"GET AWAY FROM ME!"
I heard fabric ripping.
"DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE!"
I started trying to open the door. It wouldn't move.
FUCK!
"DOMINIK HELP!"
Wait!
"HONEY LISTEN! THERE'S A TOOLBOX IN THE CLOSET! USE IT!"
I heard the toolbox.
"DO YOU HAVE IT?!"
I heard someone get hit with it.
"CLAIRE?! BABY?! ANSWER ME!"
"I-I THINK I KILLED HIM!"
"DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THAT! CAN YOU MOVE WHATEVER IS IN THE WAY OF THE DOOR?!"
I heard her try to move everything.
"I-I CAN'T! HE MOVED THE DRESSER! I WAS ONLY ABLE TO MOVE IT A LITTLE BIT!"
I was able to open the door just enough that I could get my hand through.
"Dom? I-I don't have a shirt or pants anymore."
"Shit!"
"I-I have my bra and underwear on. That's it."
I took off my shirt. I started shoving it through the gap.
"Got it?"
"Y-yeah!"
