[Better Meeting]
A week later, the group is still not speaking to Kennedy. However, they have finally met David, and they wouldn't stop asking him questions. They were basically asking for his social security number. From what I could tell, they liked him.
I think that took some stress off of both out shoulders. He knew how important them and their opinions are to me, especially after my ex. I am currently laying on the grass of our backyard, my two cats laying beside us as we stare at the stars.
"Hey, Davey?" I call out.
He hums in response.
"Do you ever wonder why bad stuff happens?" I mumble.
I can feel him turning his head at me. I don't look at him.
"All the fucking time," he says simple, grabbing my hand.
God, I should have realized by now, nothing gold can stay.
