"Run, run, run!"
Darius pushed a leaf from his path, glancing back over his shoulder as everybody was running, sprinting behind him and so was a herbivore hot on their tails. "Run! Is the Parasaurolophus still there?"
Kenji looked back to the Dinosaur inches beside him as his panting grew quicker when suddenly the T-Rex came from the side, scaring the Parasaurolophus away with the T-Rex chasing it.
"Aah! Not anymore!" Kenji screamed as everybody kept running before coming to a sliding stop nearly being crushed by the T-Rex still chasing the Parasaurolophus,
"Over there! Cover!" Darius pointed to a fallen tree as everybody moved over, vaulting and sliding nearly being hit by a Dinosaur tail but everybody had made it safely over and huddled as a group covering their ears from the horrid sounds they could hear.
As it fell quiet, Darius slowly looked over before looking back down to everybody else,
"They're gone..." Everybody let out deep and heavy sighs trying to regain their breath, Camille hitting the ground repeatedly trying to distract herself from the pain of breathing.
"Why are there so many dinosaurs around?" Kenji said with his legs up on the log as Brooklynn looked over, laying down on her stomach,
"It's either your boyish charm or all the fences on the island are down..." Brooklynn flopped back onto the ground as Camille rolled over, lying her back onto the girl while stretching her body out.
"No offense, but it's definitely option two," Sammy said warmly while Yasmina slumped against her, Yasmina felt the rumble in her stomach causing her to groan in protest,
"I don't even care. Right now, I just want a sandwich..." Yasmina held her ankle painfully as she sat forwards off Sammy, Camille rolling next to Brooklynn as she faceplanted into the grass,
"We haven't eaten since we had those awful carob bars that Ben..." Yasmina's words faded as everybody looked around at one another with saddened eyes,
Nobody had gotten over the loss of their friend.
"I-I..." Yasmina looked guilty as to how everybody's moods dropped instantly when suddenly another roar rang out through the woods, as it faded everybody let out another tiring sigh.
"We just need to eat and rest..." Sammy groaned as she stood up with the others, "I can't keep running like this..!"
Darius began leading the way, and they began moving away from the log as Camille let out a short breath.
"How's you and your broken body doing?" Brooklynn asked the girl taking a few steps back to her pace as Camille smiled,
"Not well but hey, I'm still breathing...kinda-" She said lifting her hands behind her head as they walked ahead with the group again.
"There's bound to be a way to call for help on Main Street, and food and everything else Come on!" Everybody's mood got brighter as they began running through the forest of trees once more they had soon reached Main street but to their surprise, it was nothing but a wreckage of broken buildings and rubble scattered everywhere with fallen tables and shattered glass littered around.
"What happened here?" Kenji asked as everybody approached a wrecked building covered in claws marks and dented metal framework.
"Uh, I'm thinking dinosaurs..." Yasmina stated the obvious,
"Good thinking sherlock" Camille came up behind the girl resting her chin on Yasmina's shoulder as they both looked at the totaled building with widened eyes,
"It's more than that..." Darius walked, looking closer as his fingers ran across the large claw marked wall with cracks across it,
"Some kind of fight took place" Darius looked at one of the other buildings now with more damage,
"From the height, it looks like maybe the T. rex and... something bigger?"
"The Indominus rex..." Brooklynn stood by a broken fence that fed around the lagoon, "I don't think we have to worry about it anymore, or what's left of it.."
"Ugh!" Brooklynn and Darius shiver while glancing over the waters, "Or the Mosasaurus being hungry for a while" Sammy jumped over as she shook Darius with excitement, scaring the boy half to death.
"Guys!! You have to see this!" Sammy beamed with joy as she led everybody over to a store that was still intact, showing them a cardboard cutout of Brooklynn as everybody burst out into laughter after taking one glimpse at it.
"Wow, I totally forgot I agreed to that.." Brooklynn folded her arms, Sammy giggling with glee with everybody else,
"You've never looked better," Camille smiled, posing by the cutout, "Do you only own one outfit?" Darius asked with Yasmina leaning on his shoulder,
"What? It's my signature look!" Kenji then ran towards the charging cables snatching one from a shelf,
"Please, autograph my phone charger," He bowed in front of Brooklynn holding the box up, "O'Queen of the Brooklanders!"
Brooklynn looked to Yasmina as the two had a displeased look while Kenji was laughing uncontrollably before a box had slammed into the back of his head, the boy turned around as the two girls were laughing watching Camille whistle with her hands behind her back.
"Well, I think it's cool. When we get rescued, I'm taking it with us!" Sammy said, wrapping an arm around the cutout.
"TBH, this does kind of remind me of home. I haven't posted in days..." Sammy and Camille walk back over to the girl, Sammy pushing Kenji's head away as he stood, "I bet my followers are worried sick about me"
"And your parents?" Sammy questioned with brows furrowed,
"Oh, uh, right. Obvi...them, too" Brooklynn sounded uncertain while she pocketed her hands before Darius jumped towards the store,
"Okay, let's start, uh, looking for a way to communicate with the mainland, There's gotta be a phone or something, right?" Darius motioned as everybody moved into the store searching through the shelves.
"Camille, they have baseball bats here with your name signed on them!!" Sammy called over as she lifted a dented bat from a box they were crammed into,
"To be honest I don't remember signing anything for that to happen-" she spun around with a pair of sunglasses on as she modelled the look for a moment earning a laugh from Sammy.
"Ooh, lost-and-found!" Darius crouched by a box that was behind the desk of the store, "Sunglasses, hat, sunglasses, sunglasses..." He began pulling things out before he gasped,
"Sunglasses..." Darius said defeated as he turned back around to the others across the store, "Really? No one lost their cell phone?"
"Whatever phones are here aren't working" Yasmina put a phone down onto the counter as she tried but failed to call anybody, "The power's out. There's not even walkie-talkies.."
"Oh, yeah?" Kenji walked over to the counter with two dinosaur walkie-talkies, clearly a kids toy, "Then what do you call these bad boys?" Yasmina took one, pressing the button as it let out a disoriented dinosaur growl.
"Definitely not bad boys," Yasmina said unamused by Kenjis find,
"More like sad boys.." Camille said, earning a smile from Yasmina as Camille lifted up one of the bats from the box putting more weight onto it feeling the tension leave her knee,
"Hey, at least they work" Kenji messing with the walkie-talkie, "They even have a robot mode"
"Oh!" Sammy gasping as Darius stood up quickly, "You found something?"
"An Insider's Guide to Jurassic World! It's got all kinds of details about the park" Sammy walked over to the counter reading through the book,
"Did you know there's hidden dinos carved into the buildings? Or that aircraft aren't allowed to fly over the island?" Darius, Yasmina and Camille all give her a short glare,
"Sorry, that last one's a bummer" She apologized painfully,
"Hey!" Brooklynn yelled,
"Is it a phone?" Darius grew excited in what the girl might've found,
"It's a camera! And it works!" The girl turned it on as she held it up,
"Now I can document all the crazy stuff we've seen! Our rescue will be a Brooklynn Exclusive!" Brooklynn posing for the camera, "That'll get my follower count back up to where it belongs"
"And that will help us how exactly?" Yasmina deadpanned,
"Uh, because when we get home, this will also make you famous?" Brooklynn adjusted the camera as she started filming before Kenji moved in front of Brooklynn's camera,
"Hey!" Kenji called as Darius slowly turned around, straining his voice as he spoke, "Tell me you found a phone..."
"Uh, no, but I could be in the video..!" Kenji slipped on a pair of sunglasses as he posed in front of the camera when suddenly Sammy let out another gasp.
"Phone?" Darius said tiredly from all the let downs,
"Nope. It's better than that. It's an EDB-- emergency distress beacon!" Everybody huddled in closer,
"After the first park went down, Mr Masrani installed one on Main Street. It's battery-powered and can send an SOS signal 150 miles in all directions! We're saved!" Sammy cheered happily.
"Does it say where it is?" Darius questioned while looking over her shoulder at the book.
"Uh..." Sammy checked the next few pages "no. The rest of the chapter is just glamour shots of Dr Wu wearing turtlenecks"
"Am I surprised?" Camille added, leaning over Sammy's shoulder as she looked at the book from behind the front counter.
"Everybody spread out. There's a way to communicate with the outside world on Main Street. We find this thing, and we go home"
"Affirmative, human" Kenji said through the walkie-talkie, "Beep. Boop-boop. Beep" He imitated a robot as he began walking off swinging his arms in a robotic manner.
"Batter up," Yasmina looked over to Camille as she raised the bat to her shoulder with two hands.
Yasmina picked up a plush dinosaur and she tossed it over towards Camille before the plush was sent flying across the room landing in a pile of them on the floor.
"Keep that bat, we might need it.." Yasmina stepped over toys as Camille followed behind her,
"loin devant toi," Camille quietly mumbled as the two walked out the store following the rest.

Camille headed towards Brooklynn to see her filming with her newly found camera.
"What's up, Brooklanders?" She cheerily said before taking a few steps back,
"You wanted exclusive footage? well, here it is! And there's nobody better than me to show it to you. Ka-pow!" She made finger guns to the camera,
"You do know "Brooklanders" is a weird name, right?"
Kenji said, lowering the camera as Camille was now leaning on his shoulder,
Brooklynn huffed defensively, "Okay, I was ten when I came up with it, and-- Just, shh, start over!"
"It's catchy, the name suits you don't worry.." Camille reassured Brooklynn with a smile,
"let's just, film something else.." Camille and Brooklynn both look around before they see Yasmina searching a building as the two girls look at each other before they dragged Kenji with them.
"I don't see any beacons in here.." Yasmina called as she peered into the glass,
"What about that over there-" Camille pointed with the bat as the camera zoomed in to a poster,
"Mmm..." Brooklynn hummed as she watched via the camera screen,
"Can't believe I'm gonna be in your video!" Sammy popped into the frame as the two girls jump,
"Ooh, should I have my own catchphrase?" She asked, gripping the book from before.
"Just..talk about the stuff," Brooklynn said blankly,
"Okay, according to the book, things in the park are disguised to keep up the whole natural illusion of Jurassic World" Sammy gasped with a grin as she crouched down,
"this rock is really a trash can. Those vines are electrical cords. Pretty neat, right, Brooklanders?" Sammy said with a smile before it awkwardly dropped,
"Ever notice "Brooklanders" is weird?" She tilted her head,
"Ugh!" Brooklynn let out a defeated groan, stopping the recording as Camille gave her a sympathetic pat on the shoulder.
"Let's just find something cool to show your...Brooklanders..." Camille laughed slightly,
"Yeah that is pretty weird to say out loud.." The two girls laughed as they moved over towards Darius and Yasmina who were examining rubble as Brooklynn began filming again,
"Find anything?" Darius called up to Yasmina who was climbing through the rubble as best she could,
"Not yet, What about the others?" Yasmina turned back from the rubble as Kenji came zooming through,
"Found scooter!" He chimed as he jumped over rubble before skating out of the frame, Brooklynn cut the recording before she walked with Camile to start filming again in another location,
"Hey, Brooklanders!" Kenji pulled into the frame with his scooter while waving, "Check this out!" Brooklynn paused as she looked from Camille to Kenji, "Now it sounds weird to me, too" The trio laughed as Sammy comes over having found a scooter herself,
"May I? I've got an idea!" Sammy didn't wait for an answer from Brooklynn as the girl took the camera skating away as she began recording herself happily.
"That rock is an electrical outlet and that rock is a straw dispenser--" She was cut off as in the background Camille burst into laughter as Sammy had stacked it and tripped over,
"I tripped on a rock..." Sammy groaned before the camera switched off again, Camille walked taking the camera as she brushed it down as she poked Sammy with the bat, checking she was okay.
"Smooth moves.." Camille smiled as Sammy was on the floor before Camille helped the girl up using the bat as she moved back towards Brooklynn with the camera as they kept walking..
"Maybe the beacon got trashed along with everything else?" Yasmina said leaning onto her ankle before she slowly sat down,
"It's here somewhere. It has to be..." Darius moved off as he kept moving along, determined to find the beacon.
"Let's keep filming, superstar," Camille said as she moved with Brooklynn, linking arms as Sammy waved her arms towards the girls as the duo share an odd look but decide to head over anyways as Brooklynn started filming once more.
"And this rock is..." Sammy looked at the guide before she closed it,
"just a rock, but I think it's neat. What do you think, camp fam?"
"Camp fam--?" Brooklynn and Camille say at the same time as they smile before looking back to Sammy,
"That's right, it's a new catchphrase. Ka-pow!" Sammy imitated gunshots like how Brooklynn did as Camille facepalmed when Kenji drove over with his scooter.
"Hey guys, watch this" Kenji swept by taking the camera from Brooklynn as he then took a plastic dinosaur from the ground approaching behind Darius as he lifted the toy into the frame, he began filming as he imitated the dinosaur in a sinister voice as the girls were behind him giggling with their hands over their mouths.
"Mm, roar! I'm gonna eat you!" Kenji said as he inched towards Darius who looked displeased while slowly turning,
"That's a stegosaurus, Kenji" He corrected the boy as Kenji paused before continuing,
"You look like a plant" he began making munching noises before Darius moved away and the girls started laughing as Kenji turned back, giving the camera back to Brooklynn.
"Back to driving in my cool whip", Kenji picked up his scooter, heading away leaving the girls as Sammy spoke up first,
"let's go check on Yaz!!" She pointed to the girl who was relaxing in a chair underneath an umbrella as the trio walked over to the girl.
"Hold this for a second Yaz!" Brooklynn handed the camera over to Yasmina as the trio began posing for the camera as they all struck different poses.
"Very fly.." Yasmina commented on the girls posing as they kept giggling away, she watched the girls posing when the sound of Kenji using a robotic tone came flying by on his scooter.
"Anybody order frozen pizza from the world's dopest delivery boy?" He held bags on the sides of the handlebars while calling to everybody,
"Food? Finally! Yes!" Brooklynn called as everybody looked over happy to see that Kenji had found food.
"I'll get napkins from the rock" Sammy called as everybody pulled up chairs for the nearby tables. Kenji pulled out of the bag boxes tin triangular shapes holding pizza inside as Kenji then handed a box to each of them,
Everybody went to take a bite from the pizza, instantly regretting that choice as the pizza seemed to be frozen solid as everybody grumbled and groaned at the sudden pain of toothaches and hunger continuing to rise.
"I think I broke my jaw..." Camille rubbed the side of her jaw staring at the frozen pizza while lowering it onto the box it came from.
"How about we thaw it?" Darius suggested as everybody agreed to the idea, one by one they rested the all the pizza boxes open wide in the nearby sun to allow it to melt before they could eat,
Everybody was now sitting around, waiting patiently for the pizza to thaw. With time passing by everybody was getting hungrier.
"Okay, is the pizza thawed now?" Sammy groaned, slouching on the table as Kenji let out a heavy sigh before he stood,
"I'll check..." he walked over to the pile of pizza boxes reaching to check before he let out a loud scream as a small compy had jumped onto the pile of pizza before more of them became piling out, jumping onto the tables causing everybody who was sat to jump away.
"Throw the pizza! Throw the pizza!" Yasmina screamed tipping out of her chair,
"Aw, man! All of it?" Sammy pouted before a compy jumped onto the table frightening her as she tumbled back.
"Just throw it!" Camille screamed as she kicked a compy away from herself before spotting two more Compy's nipping at Yasmina's injured ankle as Yasmina tried to ward them off, Camille vaulted over a seat, taking the bat that was leaning on the chair as she swung knocking the compy into another as they fled chasing the rest of the compy heard as the two girls let out a sigh of relief,
Camille slumped sitting on the floor with an arm resting over her stomach giving a weak sigh, sitting next to Yasmina who was on the chair rubbing her tender ankle.
"I'm really starting to dislike them Compies..." Sammy placed her hands on her hips as she watched them run after the thrown pizza slices.
"Ugh, they're like the rats of the dino world-- they'll eat anything" Brooklynn grumbled with a panted breath,
"Yeah, but so will Kenji--" Yasmina called, still massaging her now sore ankle,
"I object to that!-" Kenji yelled as he went to take a bite of frozen pizza he had saved when suddenly Brooklynn smacked it from his hand before Brooklynn playfully pushed Kenji and eventually Sammy joined in on the fun.
Yasmina rested back into chair as Camille rested her head on the side of the chair when she felt a weight on her head, she looked up to see Yasmina resting her hand on the girl's head as the two smiled at one another.
"The suns setting so quickly--" Camille pointed out over the horizon,
"reminds me of when...we were sitting by the...lagoon" Camille slowly lowered her hand from pointing as she remembered the lagoon incident as it fell silent between the two.
"Yeah, pretty heroic moment huh?" Yasmina said leaning over the top of Camille as Yasmina looked upside down from Camille's perspective with the two smiling at each other for a moment.
"I'm sure your parents would be proud to know you saved people from a dinosaur you know..?" Yasmina sat back up as Camille couldn't find the right words to respond.
She fell silent, slightly dipping her head down as Yasmina noticed, she lifted herself from her chair sitting beside Camille as their arms were brushing up against one another every now and then.
"what are you parents like..?" Camille asked softly as Yasmina looked from the girl to the sky as it had grown darker than before.
"My parents?" Yasmina questioned with brows furrowed as Camille insisted she continued,
"Well I love my mom dearly, she's my best friend I guess...she calls me her little star.." Yasmina lightly shrugged as Camille looked up to the sky above them, gently squinting before relaxing her eyes,
"I like the stars...I admire them...what do you think about them?" Camille pointed upwards as the clouds had seemingly drifted away revealing what seemed to be tiny white spots that were barely shown in the sky yet they were still there, plastered on the red and purple colours that were fading to black and blue.
"Uh...Well there all unique, in a way...you know?" Yasmina brushed stray hairs from her face as she looked at Camille who had a small smile,
Silence filled the space between them as Yasmina lightly chuckled with a memory filling her mind, "...remember when it was our second night at camp and you came up to me and said something in french, do you remember that?" Yasmina said as Camille facepalmed,
"That was embarrassing, don't even bring that up-" Camille groaned painfully,
"How did it go....the stars are...Jolie tonight!" Yasmina snapped her fingers remembering the word while acting like the girl, Camile pushed Yasmina's arms away grinning as the sky grew darker with the last bits of lights draining from the sky as Camille stood up taking the bat in one hand.
"Better find somewhere to sleep soon hm..?" She extended her free hand down to the girl, pulling Yasmina to her feet.
"And no, that is not an invitation," Camille said poking the girl quickly with the bat as Yasmina smiled lighting furrowing her brows,
"Wasn't even thinking about it you psycho...." Camille's cheeks flushed a tint of red out of embarrassment as she walked to the rest of the group who had already settled down in one of the stores that were still intact and seemed stable as everybody else had the idea of settling down for the night.
"We should take shifts over the night, it'll be safer that way-" Darius suggested as everybody agreed, Yasmina raising a hand,
"I can go first shift, I don't mind," She said, leaning on the wall before folding her arms,
"Okay everybody, get some rest...we'll keep searching for the beacon tomorrow..." Darius said as everybody began getting comfortable within the area.
Brooklynn leaned up against a desk as Sammy rested her head on the girl's lap, Camille sat next to Brooklynn leaning her head on the girl's shoulder.
As night fell, Yasmina sat watching over everybody as they slept peacefully.
Camille had struggled to fall asleep as she originally sat next to Brooklynn but moved away so as to not wake the rest. She found herself messing around with a plush toy before a small shadow was cast over her as the girl wearily looked up to see Yasmina.
"Shouldn't you be asleep?" Yasmina asked before she crouched in front of Camille,
"You're sounding like my father..." The girl replied hastily, Yasmina sat down in front of her with a small frown on her lips as her eyes searched the girl for what could be bothering her,
"Im taking the first shift so...why don't you just get some rest..." Yasmina advised the girl yet she got no reply from Camille as the two sat in silence for a moment before they heard a noise coming from Darius as he seemed to be thrashing in his sleep.
"Seems like he's having a bad dream?" Camille said peering over Yasmina's shoulder before the two girls both move over to him.
Yasmina held his shoulder yet the boy kept tossing and turning,
"Darius, wake up, Darius!" Yasmina gave him a hefty shove as he woke suddenly, panting heavily as he tried to regain his breath.
"Hey, whoa, whoa! Y-You okay?" Yasmina asked sitting back, Darius's breathing taking a minute to slow, "Looked like you were having a bad dream"
"Yeah, I'm fine" he assured the two girls rubbing the back of his neck as he had small beads of sweat running down his forehead,
"Thanks. Sorry, I fell asleep..." Darius sounded guilty as he looked between the two...
"I'm the one who volunteered to take the first shift, remember?" Yasmina looked over to everybody else who was fast asleep as Darius and Camille both look over to hear the sound of Kenji snoring coming through the walkie-talkie he was startled awake by his own snoring still half asleep as he gripped the walkie-talkie.
"Meh meh meh meh meh..." he quickly fell back asleep as the walkie-talkie let out a small dinosaur roar.
"I keep telling myself the batteries gotta run out sometime, right?" Yasmina attempted to lighten the mood but Darius pulled his legs closer to his chest as Yasmina and Camille tightly knit their eyebrows together at Darius's upset expression, Camille moved to sit next to the boy.
"I have to find that beacon. I just need to try harder. I can find it if I try harder" Darius pressured himself when Yasmina then moved into a pushup position.
"Push-ups" She began doing pushups as Darius and Camille looked at her with an odd look on their faces,
"Okay, that's the last time I eat unthawed pizza, 'cause, boy, is this dream getting weird," Darius said as Yasmina kept doing push-ups.
"I think the lack of air I've been getting finally getting to me..." Camille awkwardly looked to Darius and then back to Yasmina as the girl kept going.
"When I race, I pressure myself. Go faster, work harder. Sometimes that's good, but sometimes I get so stuck in my head that I can't see what's happening in front of me..." She stopped the push-ups standing up as she stretched her arms.
"Whoo! So, we loosen up, free our minds. Do push-ups, leg rolls, plank till your arms give out" She stretched out her arms and shoulders "You know, just have fun!--" She said reaching down to her toes.
"We have very different definitions of fun," Darius said, confused about what the girl was trying to get out of the conversation,
"Even I'm athletic but don't find..that fun..." Camille added with a gentle smile as to not offend the girl,
Yasmina hobbled over, placing her hands on her hips, "Okay, then. What would be fun for you Camille?"
"I don't know...I...play the piano when I'm needing to pass time I guess?" She shrugged while admitting it, panicking under the sudden pressure.
"It's funny how I can't..see you...as a piano player-" Darius said with a short nod trying to help,
"I get that a lot..." Camille softly said with a smile,
"Okay dino-nerd, What would be fun for you?" Darius grinned as the two girls share a worried look,
"follow me! I'll show you" Darius stood quickly, walking through Mainstreet as the girls followed behind him.
"Should we be scared?" Camille whispered to Yasmina, "Very..." she replied.
Darius had led two girls out to where the discovery walk was as Darius was jumping with joy.
"Learning new dinosaur facts! Whoo!" Darius cheered, running ahead of the girls, "Whoo," Yasmina said sarcastically as Camille facepalmed following behind Darius.
"I've been wanting to see the Jurassic World Discovery Walk since forever! I can't believe this place is practically untouched!" Darius ran to the spot with excitement.
"I can," Yasmina said, placing a hand on her hip,
"it's dustier than Kenji...ew..." Camille added as she leaned her forearm on Yasmina's shoulder.
"Race you to the next plaque!" Darius moved one step over to the plaque as the two girls moved behind him,
"That did not count as a race..." Yasmina puffed, "That was just sad," Camille said shaking her head as Yasmina nodded in agreement
"Check it out. Sauropods can eat up to 12,000 pounds of food per day!" He spun around to face the two,
"Their necks help them cover both elevated and lower grazing levels, but still, that's insane!" Darius gleamed with joy, fascinated by the fact.
"Race you again," He took at least 3 more steps to the next plaque as he swiftly pushed past Yasmina, Camille turned resting her head on Yasmina's shoulder as she seemed bored already.
"Ooh, this one's about camouflage" Darius leaned closer reading over it, "Some dinosaurs developed color patterns to help them hide from..."
"Hide..."
Darius gasps as an idea struck in his mind "I know where the beacon is" Darius spun around, "we can look--"
"In the morning, for now, let's head back" Yasmina advised, raising her brows,
"it's late at night, a bit dangerous and I am not looking to be eaten so..." Camille added as she lifted her head off Yasmina's shoulder cracking her neck. Darius slowly agreed with the decision after some bargaining as the trio walked back to find everybody else still sleeping safely.
"Darius gets some sleep, you need it," Yasmina said with a small smile as he sat back down, further inside this time. Yasmina watched as Camille sat back down in the same spot from before, Yasmina smiling gently before looking up to the stars above, a moment replaying in her mind...
"Stars are out tonight," Camille said leaning by Yasmina though the girl paid no attention to her taking a step away from the girl as Camille scuffed her shoes against the floor.
"I find them beautiful, I mean the stars in Paris are Jolie but the view from here is--"
"What's that supposed to mean?" Yasmina said raising a brow with her nose still stuck in her book, Camille chuckling to herself as she looked over to Yasmina.
"What's...what mean?" She asked as she turned, leaning her back on the railing as she looked up to the sky again with her hair dangling down off her shoulders.
"J-olie..." Yasmina said as she leaned closer towards the sketchbook, "it means pretty in French, I use french in normal sentences a lot being a habit of speaking French back home"
"How so," Yasmina asked sarcastically as a question to her last sentence as Camille gave her a side-eye before clearing her throat.
"Yasmina..." She began thinking for a moment,
"je pense que tu es l'une des plus jolies filles que j'ai vues..."
(I think you're one of the prettiest girls I've seen...)
Yasmina looked up for a brief moment as Camille's gaze was set on the stars before looking to Yasmina who was already staring.
"What? Never heard french before--" Camille was cut off by Yasmina scoffing,
"You said that word from before, the one you said meant pretty?" Yasmina said with her brows knit together as Camille tensed up as she spun her bat against the floor below her.
"Haha...well that's because-- I uhh" Camille pulled the collar of her shirt away from her neck as Yasmina looked over now, holding one finger in her book as she held it closed.
"I said...Yasmina doesn't like looking at..the pretty stars..!" She snapped her fingers turning back over as she rested her elbows on the ledge the same way Yasmina did though Yasmina rolled her eyes focusing back on her book.
"Smooth," Yasmina said sarcastically again as Camille scoffed...
Yasmina found herself smiling at the thought of the moment replaying in her mind.
Quite a few minutes passed as Yasmina yawned softly, she turned back around checking everybody was still sleeping safely yet it wasn't plain to see Camille still awake as she decided to walk over yet this time something seemed off.
"Still struggling to sleep?" Yasmina said quietly, Camille moving hands away from her face while slowly looking up as her lips moved side to side,
"It's whatever..." she mumbled out before Yasmina sat next to the girl, extending out her ankle while doing so.
She expected Camille to snap at her but this time Camille was quieter than before.
"you need the rest...especially being injured.." Yasmina said quietly while motioning to both her wounds still needing to heal, Camille felt her throat dry out as she didn't know what to say for a moment as she bit the inside of her lip.
"I...I can't..." Camille weakly admitted followed by a faint chuckle, avoiding Yasmina's gaze as she felt her eyes grow damp with each blink before she pressed her palms over her eyes trying to shake the images from her mind.
"It's just difficult after the whole situation between the stupid lagoon and losing..Ben...it's all I can see...replaying in my head...and I-"
Camille gulped unable to finish her sentence as she brought her sleeve to the side of her eye, turning her head away.
"I'm...worried to be alone, when I close my eyes i can just see the treacherous lagoon water...I see...Bens face as he...he...slipped from my hands..."
Camille pressed her fingers against her closed eyes, clenching her jaw tightly as she discreetly wiped her eyes,
Yasmina eyes traced Camille's shaken face before she began to lower herself down to the ground, resting her head on the pile of toys sat just behind them.
Camille inhaled sharply before she glanced over to the girl before furrowing her brows,
"I'll..keep you company," Yasmina quietly said as Camille felt a faint smile form on her lips at the genuine act of kindness,
Camille moved into a more comfortable position beside the girl, letting out a shaky sigh before smiling at Yasmina through the darkness of the area,
"Thanks...Yaz.." Camille quietly said, feeling Yasminas fingers brush up against hers startled her at first but she didn't mind the extra warmth upon her hand.
To Camille's surprise she was out like a a light minutes after.
Their hands overlapping with one another.
All through the night, Yasmina fiddled with Camille's hand gently trying to find peace of mind herself, Yasmina grew tired and drifted asleep, with her fingers slipped in between Camille's

Darius had woken the group early as he led them over to a clear area to explain the idea that had sparked within his mind last night with Yasmina and Camille at the discovery walk.
"Look, we already looked here..." Kenji groaned painfully, rubbing his eyes before placing his hands on his hips,
"We looked, but we didn't look," Darius said with his arms opened out, making no sense at the moment as it was early in the morning, nor did it make sense in general.
"Well, that clears that up," Brooklynn says as Camille giggles elbowing the girl as the two smile childishly at one another.
"It's like Sammy was saying, things are disguised as other things. We never saw the beacon because it was camouflaged" Darius moved off as the group split up, Everybody was sifting through piles of rocks, different types of leaves and bushes that were still intact that could've been hiding spots.
That was up until Yasmina felt a sharp pain in her ankle causing her to fall into a tree as it made a metallic clang noise, everybody rushing over to the girl.
"Ever hear a tree do that?" Yasmina grinned, standing up straight as Sammy pulled a small door open on the tree she gasped instantly, "There's stuff inside!"
"Find it again for the camera?" Brooklynn asked as she began filming again, this time Sammy's acting was not on point.
"Ooh! There's stuff inside!" Every word sounded fake while everybody else had gone looking inside the other metallic trees finding nothing.
"All aboard the fail-boat.." Kenji called out, "The rest of these are all empty, broseph"
"Nothing inside this one" Camille closed the small door with the bat she held as she looked up noticing everybody standing together, she went to walk over but the sound of a dinosaur snarling was heard throughout Main Street with a chilling echo as everybody gasped, seeing the T-Rex walking across dragging something in its mouth.
Everybody quickly ran, following behind the path of the dinosaur as they climbed up a high wall hiding behind it they peered over to see what the T-Rex was doing before they all ducked down as it let out a ghastly roar.
"A T. rex lair! They've found fossilized nests, but the T. rex never did this when the park was open. We're witnessing new behaviour" Darius looks over to the girls with joy on his face,
"This is great!" all the girls seemed unamused,
"This is terrible" His mood switched as he realized,
"She built her lair right on top of Main Street" Darius lowered himself down behind the wall.
"And it's about to get worse. Look" everybody looked over to Brooklynn's camera as she zoomed into the pile of debris and mutilated trees as they were able to see the beacon they had been looking for the entire time.
"Well, we found the beacon.." everybody let out heavy groans of annoyance before everybody sat back down on the metal roofing near the wall.
"How are you supposed to get to the beacon now?" Kenji asked as everybody glared at him,
"Um, don't you mean 'we'?" Darius tried correcting him,
"No because I want to live, and living does not involve me walking into a T. rex lair!" Kenji said in a harsh tone, everybody sending him a glare.
"So wait, does this mean we can't signal folks and tell them we're still here?" Sammy said in an upset tone as everybody looked at one another,
"Great. Try to spend a little time being normal kids, and it still ends up biting us in the butts..." Kenji pulled himself closer to the edge with his face in his hands, "I...I just wanted 24 hours where we didn't have to think about dinosaurs, or being left behind, or, or... or Ben"
Everybody shared the same look of grief, none of them could face the fact that Ben was still gone. "It was nice while it lasted..."
Darius inched forwards, "Hey, we can't give up now. I know it seems hopeless, but there's always an answer. We just have to get out of our own heads to see it" Yasmina had a big smile on her face, knowing that Darius took her advice from the night before.
Darius stood up, peering over the edge as he began hatching a plan in his mind. "Kenji, were there any more walkies in the gift shop?" With this said, the plan was devised between them all and began.
The T-Rex began moving out of its liar, the ground shaking with each step. Yasmina stood peering over the edge of the wall watching the dinosaur move further away.
"Heading your way, Sammy" She dropped back down as they all sat, waiting for an answer for the all-clear.
"Listen up. She just passed by. Coast is clear. Go for it!" Darius and Kenji look at one another before they scale up and over the wall,
"Good luck boys" Camille said as they jumped down over the side as the three girls that were left peer over the wall watching the boys as they now waited.
"I hope they'll be okay," Brooklynn said before Kenji's voice came through the walkie-talkie.
"Next time, I'm spraining my ankle and I'm staying behind," He said sharply, annoyed already.
"You wouldn't be able to handle it," Yasmina said smuggly before Kenji went back to work with Darius, leaving the girls to wait.
"they've been stuck in a velociraptor cage once, what more's a T-Rex..." Camille shrugged before looking at Brooklynn and Yasmina to see their obvious faces.
"Yep right, major difference...I'll keep my mouth shut.." Yasmina and Brooklynn smile, Camille happy with that reaction as she attempted to lighten the mood when suddenly Sammy's voice came through the walkie-talkie, sounding distressed.
"Rexy's headed back to her lair! She's heading back. Y'all need to get out of there...!!" Brooklynn stood quickly, peering over the wall and began to call into the walkie-talkies yet there was no answer from the two boys.
"Why aren't they answering?" Brooklynn began to panic, "Guys! She's coming back right now! Mayday! Guys!" Yasmina yelled into the walkie-talkie before she let out a groan, "Oh, I knew it! Kenji ran down the battery"
"That numbskull..!" Camille kicked the wall, holding a tight grip on the bat,
"What now?" Yasmina asked looking between the two girls, "We've gotta stall that T. rex" Brooklynn answered, continuing to look over the edge.
"How do you stall a T. rex?" Sammy asked through the walkie-talkie before Brooklynn gasped, an idea sprouting in her mind before she began running and jumping down from where they were perched,
"what are you doing?" Yasmina called to the girl but she had already runoff.
"Brooklynn! what are you doing?!" Camille yelled but she gained no answer, she gripped the bat running down the same path Brooklynn took not long after as she slid around the corner spotting the girl she ran over to her.
"Plan? Now!" Camille said panting painfully as she threw the bat aside watching it tumble,
"the cardboard cutout plus the camera created a distraction!!" She said as Camille nodded, the two girls ran quickly to grab the cardboard cutout before they set it up in a clear area nearby to the broken fence of the lagoon.
Camille felt uneasy whenever she looked at the watery depths, the hairs on her neck stood up as she faced away from it anytime she could.
The footsteps of the T-Rex grew louder and louder as it approached its lair stepping closer before Brooklynn devised her plan.
"What's up, Brooklanders?" The voice echoed loudly from the camera, playing one of the videos they had recorded the day before as the T-Rex turned around immediately heading towards the noise.
The T-Rex looked around before spotting the figure in the distance, it let out a deafening roar before running at the figure as its large feet crushed the cardboard cut out.
The plan worked as it stayed distracted with the speaker still ringing bout, the two girls running back as they high-fived before they were met with everybody else as they had picked up bags of supplies along the way, they escaped back into the forest having sent the beacon out. They hid behind a log again, huddling together as a group they all cheered happily.
"We're gonna be saved!"
"We did it!"
"Let's go!"
"Yeah!"
"Yeehaw!"
"That's what I'm talking about!"
"Sorry, you had to give up your camera.." Darius apologized to Brooklynn as she shrugged it off, "Eh, it was old and janky anyhow. My followers deserve way better picture quality than that"
"Where to now, Darius? We obviously can't go back to Main Street..." Sammy kneeling,
"Now we have to find a place to hole up until help arrives. And rescue will be coming. We just gotta stay alive until they do"
"Seems easy enough.."
