The front of the Van was covered in thick black smoke pouring out of every cracked inch of the hood.
Everybody let out quick breaths, regaining their bearings as Camille sat up after crushing Kenji.
Everybody was moving around from how they landed within the van,
"Is everyone okay?" Darius asks looking around as Yasmina slams a fist onto the steering wheel,
"Is everyone.." She said before letting out a chuckle, pushing the door open with an outburst of anger, she slammed the door before Sammy called for her while clambering out of the van,
Everybody stumbled out of the van as Darius checked the damage taken while Sammy headed straight for Yasmina in hopes of straightening things out,
Camille stood next to Kenji stretching out her knee before she her hand back to her shoulder, painfully rolling it back.
"Wait-- Yasmina!" Sammy called to the fuming girl with her arm stretched out,
"We're not okay!" Yasmina screamed out stopping as Sammy did too, nearly stumbling over her own feet,
"Yaz--" Sammy spoke softly, going to reach for Yazsmina but the girl yelling made her hand pull back quickly,
"We're in the middle of a jungle with a monster dinosaur out there, and you..." Yasmina struggled the find the right words as she turned to face Sammy with a hurtful look on her face as her voice lowered, "You..."
"--Destroyed our only way to get help and lied about it!" Brooklynn called from beside the van cutting into the conversation,
"I told you guys!"
Camille shook her head in disbelief letting out a deep breath, "we knew it since the day in the lab when Sammy said that she was going to the bathroom.."
She added as her brows stay knit together tightly dropping her hands from her being tucked in her pockets,
Darius moved away from the front of the damaged van, comprehending everything that was just said, "So, you did take Brooklynn's phone, Why? What were you doing?"
"Probably trying to erase my video of her taking those samples from the Sinoceratops" Sammy pulled her hair back from her face looking ashamed yet guilty as Brooklynn gasped moving closer,
"And you knew about the Indominus rex because you were snooping around Dr. Wu's office when I ran into you...!" Brooklynn pointed at Sammy with her phone,
"I knew it!" She angrily exclaimed,
Sammy painfully swallowed before she choked on her tears, "I didn't mean to destroy the phone. I fell on it when the zip line came down and--"
"But you did steal it? You had it that whole time and didn't tell us?" Ben said kneeling by bumpy as his brows furrowed,
"Hold up. What were you doing in Dr. Wu's office, Brooklynn?" Darius extended his hand towards Brooklynn as all eyes fell on her,
"I..." Brooklynn looked to Camille who was still by the van, the french girl shaking her head barely, warning the girl not to say much,
"It doesn't matter, I didn't break our only way to call for help and then lie about it!" Brooklynn reverting the attention back to Sammy,
"This is not my fault!" Sammy began covering her ears slowly, seeming panicked as Camille took notice letting out a short scoff,
"Brooklynn--"
"This is her fault! She--" Brooklynn yelled towards Sammy.
"I'm here to spy!!!"
Sammy yelled, stopping everybody as it fell into silence.
"For a company called Mantah Corp..." Sammy said firmly as she hated to admit it, her head lowering down,
"Mantah Corp?" Darius said, turning to the others by the Van, "They're a bioengineering company, big rivals with Masrani",
He turned back to the three in front of him, "They tried to make dinosaurs, too, but Wu beat them to it"
"You doomed us all for some lousy company?" Ben called, his temper growing too.
Camille was surprised to see his spirit rise off all people but she wasn't complaining.
"Our ranch was in trouble, so my folks had to borrow a lot of money from some shady people" Sammy turned away, feeling as if she couldn't face the others,
"We didn't know they were fronting for Mantah Corp...They said we'd lose everything unless I spied for them," Sammy said, moving along past Yasmina and Brooklynn.
"Use the behind-the-scenes access I'd get at camp to gather info from Wu's lab, DNA from dinos, and whatever else they needed" Sammy turned towards Brooklynn,
"But then Brooklynn caught on, and I got scared, and then everything went wrong.." Sammy quickly moved over in front of Yasmina seeing how the girls facial expression changed,
"This is the last thing I wanted to happen"
"Oh.." Yasmina scoffed in her face,
"To be next to a broken van on Killer Dinosaur Island?" Yasmina said getting in the girl's face as her tone evolved into something far more sarcastic, "Hey, me, too! What are the odds?"
"Yaz, I--"
"Was it all a lie, wanting to be friends? Pretending you cared about..." Her voice cracked near the end, seeming she couldn't get the last part out as it all reminded Yasmina of why she kept to herself.
Why she never opened up in the first place,
She kept to herself for so long, and for once she opened up to them all,
She ended up getting hurt more than ever after being so trusting with Sammy,
"You just needed someone to hide what you were doing. Tell me I'm wrong.." Sammy had tears rolling down her cheeks as all she could get out was a quiet sob.
"I'm such an idiot..." Yasmina turned, beginning to walk away towards the van where the others were.
"You are wrong!" Sammy followed after her,
"I just didn't know how to say it, how to explain it to you, Just because I spied doesn't change who I am..!" Sammy reached, grabbing Yasmina's shoulder,
"Don't touch me!" Yasmina cried out louder than before, pulling away at the girl's touch before turning with a grim look on her face.
"Go away, Sammy...." Yasmina's voice turned monotone as all signs of hope had left for her belief in Sammy. She had given up on the girl just as quickly as she believed in their friendship.
Sammy's lip quivered at Yasmina's words before she moved off away from the group further into the trees trying to contain herself, Yasmina slowly walked over as her anger turned into sadness, locking eyes with Camille for a moment before they returned to the ground, Bumpy tried to cheer Yasmina up yet nothing worked for the girl.
"Not now, Bumpy...." She said quietly, deeply upset by the whole situation,
"Look, I know the situation we're in is suboptimal--" Ben began, obviously irritating everybody the moment he spoke,
"It's trash. Just say it's trash, Ben.." Brooklynn said holding the bridge of her nose,
"Yes, but despite the obvious trashitude...we...we need to--" Bumpy kept jumping up and down near Ben trying to grab attention from anybody,
"Bumpy, what are you..." sudden rumbling was heard as well as the sound of trees snapping in half grew closer as out of the trees came Indominus Rex as everybody screamed, moving quickly away from where they were standing.
"This is trash! This is trash!" Ben screams as they all moved behind the van, watching it run away from them which surprised them all.
"What the heck?" Darius says on behalf of them as a helicopter whirls over them speeding across the skies.
"Masrani's helicopter!--" Kenji called out, throwing his hands upwards,
"That's his call sign on the tail isn't it?" Camille points upwards as they all looked,
"They're shooting at the Indominus!" Darius began running after Kenji followed before everybody else did too before they stopped seeing the Helicopter near a glass dome before a large thud echoed along with glass shattering.
"Yeah! Kick its butt, Masrani!" Kenji called, cheering while jumping up and down,
"We're saved! Yeah, baby! Ah! I told you, they've got it totally under--" The helicopter began losing control as it came crashing through the dome exploding on impact as it left a massive hole, releasing the dinosaurs kept inside as they took to the skies instantly,
"With those pteranodons lose, we're sitting ducks! We've gotta take cover!" Darius pointed out, taking a few steps back.
Kenji gasps, snatching the tablet from Brooklynn as he looked at the map, "The Kayak River! The entrance is near here. It goes underground, beneath the ridge. If we follow it, it'll take us the right to the main park"
"Then that's where we need to be. Come on!" Darius yelled, running off once again as everybody followed behind before Darius ran back to help Ben and Bumpy get moving, both of them struggled to get Bumpy moving, instead they lift her up and carried her along with all their might.
They swiftly made it to their destination, they ducked inside closing doors behind them and quickly stopping one of the dinosaurs from diving into the area. They all take deep breaths trying to regain their stamina,
"It's dark down here.." Camille commented looking around at the underground area, everybody moved along across towards a wooden deck, grabbing lifejackets from a rack.
Camille pulled it on over the top of her jacket and clipped it together before turning to Kenji,
"Does this make me look fat?" She asked doing a small turn, "ehhh..." He said tilting his head and looked at her as he pulled his shades on.
"it makes you look buff," He said as she gave a solid nod before joining the rest on getting into the Kayaks by the dock.
Yasmina moved past Sammy swiftly as she sat behind Camille in the Kayak.
Yasmina said nothing and pushed the kayak away, keeping her gaze anywhere but ahead of her as Camille frowned.
She leaned, slightly glancing back at Yasmina,
"Hey, how are you doing?" She asked quietly, keeping the conversation between the two as she pushed the kayak further up, separated from the kayaks around them,
"How am I doing?" Yasmina's temper rose all of a sudden a the question, "well clearly not good, I'm kayaking down a river in almost complete darkness after just being--"
"That's not...what I meant..." Camille looked forwards again as she didn't wish to make Yasmina feel worse than she did,
"I didn't mean how you are now, I meant how are you feeling about everything but...at least it was an answer..." Yasmina's expression softened instantly at how upset Camille sounded, she never meant to offend the girl or come off as rude in any way.
"I.." Yasmina kept her mouth shut though she wished to apologize, it seems Camille took the words out of her mouth,
"Your sorry, I get it..." Camille's tone seemed weary as she admired the cave with a small smile when suddenly Kenji and Brooklynn bumped their Kayak into theirs but clearly it was Kenjis fault.
"Kenji!--" Camille called, her body shaking seeing as she didn't want to fall into the waters,
"Watch it!" Yasmina snapped at Kenji and Brooklynn in their kayak,
"CKK has right of way. Sorry, I don't make the rules" Kenji said paddling past the two with a big swing of his paddle,
"Hey, the cave's getting bigger...And brighter?" Brooklynn commented as everybody drifted into the glowing cave amazed at the sights while drifting past a beautiful waterfall into another part of the cave Camille could hear Brooklynn and Kenji arguing upfront with Darius and Sammy behind talking about her family and situation.
"You guys, should the algae be moving?" Sammy called over to everybody as they all looked to the side spotting Dinosaurs glowing on the river's edge Kenji yelped frightened at the sight.
"Don't panic, guys. They're herbivores!" Darius called out reassuring everybody,
"Unbelievable! Dr. Wu must have put the bioluminescent gene into these Parasaurolophuses"
Suddenly the glowing Dinosaurs began popping up from underneath the waters pushing up against everybody's kayaks nearly knocking everybody off,
"Darius..are they meant to do this?!" Brooklynn called out as she tried to push them away, everybody kept struggling to stay upright as Darius too was trying not to tip with Sammy in the kayak trying to push the dinosaurs away they began to rise from the waters, pushing against the kayaks more than before.
"Darius!! this isn't normal-!!" Camille called as one of the dinosaurs rose up onto its hind legs, standing up straight as it was about to slam down onto the girl's kayak.
They both scream yet suddenly the Dinosaur stopped seemingly getting spooked, the other dinosaurs did the same and ran the opposite way of the flowing river as everybody had stopped paddling yet they were still floating down the river as it grew darker. Much, much darker.
"It's getting darker...in here..." Camille's voice grew with worry as she held onto the seat of the Kayak.
She couldn't see anything as she squinted her eyes as which sent her into a slight panic.
"I can't see anything..." Yasmina said as she tried looking around too yet nothing was in sight but darkness,
"Uh, cool kids to nerds, where are you?" Kenji called out to everybody yet his voice bounced off the walls as everybody was unable to deter main anybody's location,
"Over here! I think something scared the Parasaurolophuses" Darius called out to Kenji up ahead, Camille felt her hands shaking as she kept looking around, panicking more at the pure darkness surrounding them,
"I don't like the dark, I don't like the dark-" Camille kept repeating under her breath quietly,
"And here I was thinking you were fearless--" Yasmina made a small comment after hearing the girls mutters, Camille giving a worried chuckle,
"your...funny...", Camille kept trying to look around before Darius screamed out,
"Paddle! There's a current pulling us into a different tunnel" This set everybody off as they all began paddling quick and hard as they could yet nothing seemed to be working as they all began drifting quicker down the river before there was a large drop sending everybody into another area, this time outside as everybody shielded their eyes.
"Never been more thankful to feel the sun burn my eyes," Camille said rubbing her eyes with her shaking hands blinking a few times,
"We're okay..we're okay!!" Ben called, reassuringly before Kenji slid his glasses on when suddenly he started panicking and looking around with a large gasp escaping his mouth.
"Why did you gasp? It didn't sound like a good gasp!" Ben said looking at Kenji with wide eyes,
"Cause I know exactly where we are, guys. We're in the Jurassic World Lagoon...and so is the Mosasaurus..." Both Sammy and Darius gasp at Kenji's words.
"I assume the Mosasaurus is some kind of giant fish dinosaur that's gonna try and eat us" Ben commented growing worried as they all see a large fin rise from the water before returning into the depths.
"It's circling, testing us. It's acting like a shark. We're intruders in its domain, so it's investigating us. Before it gets confident, decides to... to..." Brooklynn went quiet as Bumpy let out a low yowl of worry.
"We have to get out now!" Kenji yelled out "There's a ladder by the spectator stands" Darius pointed across the lagoon, "How are we gonna--"
"Y'all?" Sammy yelled as the large shadow swam underneath them.
"Paddle! Go, go, go!" At these words, everybody began paddling as fast as they could heading at high speeds launching themselves across the waters as fast as they could.
"Come on!!" Camille yelled as a fin rose from the water causing everybody to gasp as Yasmina noticed Darius and Sammy struggling to keep up, Yasmina took a sharp turn as the kayak splashed water upwards,
"Yasmina..what are you doing?!" Yasmina pulled the Kayak up to a large metal pillar feeding underneath the water as she climbed on top of it.
"Whatever you do, don't stop paddling!" She called attempting to push Camille's Kayak away but the girl stuck the paddle in the water causing it to move back before she dived swiftly over the chairs to Yasmina landing on her knees with a heavy thud next to Yasmina, a loud profanity slipping from her mouth as she felt a sharp pain in her knee from the landing,
"I told you to keep going!!" She yelled down at Camille, the girl slowly standing with help from her paddle,
"I'm not letting you go by yourself Yaz! Your asking for a god damn death wish!" Camille snapped, yelling back harsher than Yasmina had ever heard the girl yell.
It shocked her more than anything,
"Just...follow my lead!" She called as Camille nodded, Yasmina turned to Darius and Sammy who were paddling as fast as they could while the mosasaurus was gaining on them, getting closer and closer within bite reach Yasmina began banging the paddle against the metal creating noise, a distraction.
"Hey! Hey!! Over here!!!"
Camille did the same as it began distracting the mosasaurus from Darius and Sammy giving them time to get out when the mosasaurus circled around before it rose from the water heading towards the girls up on the pole,
"Yaz...!" Camille raised her voice, more panicked this time,
"I did not think this through, "Yasmina said, worried about what to do next as the sound of machinery was heard before Kenji yelled out to them,
"Grab the chain!!" He pointed to the chain rising from the water as Camille jumped quickly, high up on the chain as it kept rising while Yasmina held near the bottom, the two girls holding on as Yasmina kept swinging the chain to try to move it along as it was going slower than they thought it would,
"Come on Yaz!! Come on Cami!!" Sammy yelled as the two held in to the chain when suddenly the mosasaurus started stalking the two in the air, growing closer with each stride through the water.
"Yaz...!" Camille called as they both looked down as the mosasaurus began rising out of the water as it felt the world slowed down, both girls continued to swing on the chain as the mosasaurus leaped from the water and bit down onto the chain, narrowly missing the girls as the wire snapped causing the girls to begin to swing through the air.
"Yaz!!"
"Camille!!"
Everybody yelled out as the two held a tight grip on the chain while dipping through the air.
The chain came to a sudden stop as it had reached the end, sending Yasmina flying forwards and over the large railing and down onto the concrete.
Camille on the other hand had gotten stuck, as the chain reached its end Camilles body crashed with Yasminas causing her to drop downwards instead of launching her forwards.
She screamed loudly before she was able to grab hold of the chain as her hand just missed the hook of the chain. She felt her heartbeat increase while dangling above the water, her hands sweating as she gripped the chain tighter than before doing her best to avoid the hook.
She knew couldn't hold on much longer as she felt the sweat pile into her hands. She would either have to drop down or face the same fate Yasmina did. Injure herself more than she already is or face the watery fate waiting below her.
Everybody rushed towards Yasmina who had landed harshly on the ground, injuring her ankle as it was too painful to even touch as she yelped in pain.
"Oh my god..." Brooklynn said as her hand shakily covered her mouth, Yasminas ankle wasn't sitting in a usual position.
"Holy Shi...." Kenji said as he barely finished his sentence, everybody staring with wide eyes down at the injured girl as Yasmina rocked back and fourth trying to ease herself.
"I'm okay...I think but-" She went to ask something but Ben spoke first, cutting her off, "where'd everyone go?" Ben asked as the entire area seemed empty having no signs of life as everybody began muttering before Yasmina yelled out.
"Camille guys, Camille!!" She screamed out causing everybody to gasp, looking upwards to the girl who was still holding onto the chain tightly as she was now trying to climb the chain.
The muscles in her arms burned as she kept hoisting herself further up, hearing the loud calling from the other campers below though she couldn't entirely make out what they were saying. She pulled herself up until she was able to rest her shoe in the hook of the chain.
Camille did her best to look at where everybody was but it was hard to distinguish where they were all standing over the large barrier around the lagoon, she grew worried as she couldn't see Yasmina.
"Jump over the fence!!--" Kenji went to call out to Camille but Darius stopped him, "She cant or else she'll land as Yaz did...plus she's already injured enough-" Darius motioned over as everybody began thinking of a plan to get her down.
Camille swallowed as she looked back out over the lagoon for any signs of the mosasaurs around her as she took a deep breath in, watching everybody pacing down on the safe ground.
"Guys!" She called out getting everybody's attention as they all look just as worried, "I have a plan..."
"What's the plan?!" Darius cupped his hands around his mouth calling out to the girl as everybody seemed ready to help in any way, Camille smiled gently at his enthusiasm as Brooklynn shook her head looking at the girl.
That mischievous grin of hers was never a good sign, Brooklynn knew that after seeing it the night the boys fell into the raptor pen.
"Camille I swear if you do what I think your going to do, god help me...!" She called up as everybody began looking around in a panic, asking what Brooklynn meant.
"Just trust me," Suddenly Camille took a big swing on the chain before she let go and sprung off in the direction of the ladder as best she could before plummeting down into the lagoon again as everybody ran to the edge of the large barrier looking at the water rippling with no signs of the girl resurfacing.
Yasmina felt her heart sink as she tried to stand but her ankle was causing her too much pain to even touch as she remained on the ground, feeling helpless.
Camille had dived into the water, being consumed by darkness quite quickly. She held her breathe before hitting the water, taking a moment as the cold froze her body instantly, a searing sensation hit her bare skin while her clothes lifted up towards the surface being filled with air pockets for a brief second,
She opened her eyes under the water and glanced up seeing the dimly lit sky before realising how deep she dived under which sent her into a panic when suddenly she was able to make out the dense and dark shadow of the killer dinosaur heading towards its next meal.
Camille began to push through the water, paddling as fast as she could while trying to resurface as she felt her lungs tear apart before she was able to resurface, breaking past the water she could hear yelling around her but through the water in her ears it was difficult to hear anything.
She immediately looked around spotting the ladder and did her best to swim as fast as she can, the water gushing behind her got her blood pumping us she was quick to pull herself up the ladder and stacked it across the concrete towards Kenji and Darius who were running towards her, she slowed down and placed her hands on her knees while hacking up some water she inhaled,
"Oh my..gosh are you okay?!" Darius said as his voice lightly cracked, clearly panicked from the whole situation,
Camille was dripping from head to toe as her jacket was heavier than it usually is and her hair was flatter than flat.
"I think- I'm alright-" She said gently with a thumbs up, her teeth had a slight chatter from the cold temperature of the water.
She slowly pulled her heavy and water filled jacket off as Kenji was quick to take it from her hands,
"Your still taking dumb risks as usual.." Kenji said as shook her jacket out, getting himself wet on accident,
"Well- is everyone okay? Is Yaz okay from the jump and all?" Camille was quick to ask, her mind racing back to the girl in remembering the incident as Darius and Kenji look at each other,
"Weeeell, she seemed upset.." Darius said as he itched the back of his neck,
"-and mad at you" Kenji said, finishing the sentence,
"Elaborate-" Camille puffed out, trying to regain the breath she had lost as Kenji smacked his lips,
"At first she was mad at Sammy, but now I think she's mad at the both of you too.." Kenji threw the girls jacket over his shoulder as if it were a tea towel,
Camille began ringing out her hair and getting the water squeezed out as best she could,
"it's hard to differentiate her anger sometimes but-" Darius continued talking about the topic, "I think the pain in her ankle turned into ang-"
"Pain in her ankle?" Camille was quick to speak, straightening her posture as her gaze flicked between the two boys with worry and shirt annoyance they didn't bring that up first,
"Is she alright now?" She asked again, the two boys shared a look as Camille gave a short huff, trudging away toward stairs to reach the others, the two boys trailing behind her.
When they had made it up the stairs, Kenji and Darius moved off around the bleachers where everybody else was scattered around to look at the ruined area, filled with spilt food and dirty merchandise.
Camille's eyes fell on Yasmina who was sitting alone, her gaze fixated upon her injury.
Camille kept ringing out her hair as she moved over toward the girl, Camille soon took notice of the swollen ankle and realised Yasmina had a large limp when she saw the girl coming towards her,
Camille started talking with a worried tone, stopping infront of the girl, "What happened, are you oka-"
"Am I okay?, what happened?" Yasmina felt furious about everything, even more upset with Camille than she was with Sammy. She clenched her fists tightly before using both hands to shove Camille back,
"Are you serious?! Your an idiot!!" Yasmina snapped as Camille lightly stumbled, staying stable as she went to speak but Yasminas anger was nothing but overpowering yet the fear was evident in her voice.
"What is wrong with you..?! You could have been eaten alive!! Camille you could have been killed for gods sake!!! I don't understand how you could just be so-"
"-We..could have died..." Camille cut in quickly yet her tone was low, "we...I..would've ended up in the same boat as you, injured ankle and then what would have happened?"
Yasmina let out an annoyed huff, she couldn't let any other words escape her mouth,
"We would've both been severely injured and I..I never meant for you to get hurt so please just, let me help!" Camille reasoned but Yasmina had turned, beginning to walk off but Camille was swift enough to move around infront of the injured girl,
"Yaz, please you can rest for a minute or so," Yasminas eyes lit with anger and frustration, worse than anything Camille's seen before,
"I don't need your help! I don't need you around for pity..." Yasmina elbowed the girl out of the way though she barely budged, Yasmina limping made her slower, weaker on her feet, enough that Camille was able to hook her arm around Yasminas waist and pull her down onto a bleacher,
Yasmina was caught of guard and let out a sharp exhale, gripping onto the seat as to not loose balance before she tried to storm off again but Camille pinned her back down into the seat. Camille's hands were either placed upon the girls shoulders as Yasminas back hit the seat behind with a thud,
"Sit and stay...Yasmina..I'm helping whether you like it...or not," Camille sternly told the girl in a low tone before she exhaled softly and sat back, leaving Yasmina with a sour face before it softened into an annoyed expression.
Camille lifted off her jumper and spread it down on the bleacher beside her within sun range, leaving her in a black turtleneck shirt with water still running down her arms and such.
Camille wasn't one to show of her body much, yes she was proud and happy in the body she had but despite being healthy, maybe it was the feeling of insecurity deep down she collected from over the years and the perfectionism placed upon her by her mother.
Camille sat and looked at the girls ankle for a moment before she looked down at her shirt, she used her teeth to begin tearing and ripping at the material best she could until eventually she tore a long piece off before re-tucking her shirt into her pants, adjusting where her soggy belt sat, "Tell me if I hurt you, please,"
Yasmina let out a grunt as her leg was lifted onto a bleacher just below where she sat, Camille moved the girls sock down slightly before she gently yet firmly began to wrap around the swollen area.
"Last time I sprained my ankle, this stopped the swelling although it wasn't a piece of shirt..it was a compression bandage that maybe we can find..." Camille spoke softly before gently fixing up Yasminas sock as she dusted her hands together, turning back to face the water as she sat on the bleacher that was lower than Yasmina.
The athletic girl didn't know what to say, she was still in shock at Camille's ways after she had just been screamed and yelled at entirely but still insisted on helping.
Yasmina stared at the girl who was infront of her as she had forgotten all about her frustration as it made her feel quite uneasy knowing her emotions had taken over previously, she slumped back into the bleacher feeling her facial expression relax yet her eyes stayed on Camille.
Camille's eyes were on the red and purple sky above them, a faint smile upon her face as she stared at the beautiful mix of colours.
"I don't like this silence so...just keep yelling at me, I deserve it in all honesty...," Camille said quietly as her head slightly tilted back before it moved forwards again.
Yasmina chewed on her lip, she didn't know what to say or what to do in the moment. She had a mix of emotion still whirring deep inside her stomach as all she did was slide down the bleacher and sit herself by Camille, her teeth still against her lip chewing away anxiously.
Camille's gaze adjusted and moved from Yasmina beside her and back to the sky, "I'm sorry if I worried you, I just..."
The French girl paused for a moment. She couldn't think of why she jumped back into the water, she could've safely made the jump and clung onto something else instead of injuring her ankle but instead she took a jump, a leap, that leap that nearly took her death.
She did it anyways.
"Apology, considered.." Yasmina said through her teeth, her brows gently raised as Camille slowly blinked looking over with a soft smile,
"Considered you say? Alright then, I'm happy with that..." Camille lightly chuckled as Yasmina curled her lips in, trying not to smile herself. She didn't know why Camille always made her smile but for once it felt like a genuine one.
The two sat in silence for a moment, though it felt peaceful as Camille was hesitant at first but she stuck her hand out near Yasminas thigh as the athletic girl stared for a moment, her brows knit together as she stared from the girls hand to Camille's sweet face.
"What..? You want a high five..?" Yasmina said said plainly to the girl,
"No..I want your hand.." Camille said calmly, lightly tilting her head as if she were a puppy dog begging for something.
Yasminas was hesitant to do so but she slowly lifted her own hand and placed it in Camille's as she felt the girls fingers wrap around her hand, the heat inside her body began to rise.
"My everything's cold..and...your very warm to put it in the nicest way possible..." Camille said slowly as she gulped down her last words, inching closer to Yasmina as Camille lifted their hands against her own thigh.
The two girls were sitting closer than before being able to feel the others heat. It was calming.
"Only time Moreau.." Yasmina declared as she felt the tension leave her body, feeling the small vibration from Camille's tender chuckle as it fell silent between the two girls as they both enjoyed the peacefulness around them.
Until.
Sammy had then walked over stopping in front of the two girls, mainly Yasmina.
"Thank you for saving us, for saving me, That was amazing" Sammy kneeled beside Yasmina now but Yasmina was quick to tear her hand away and get to her feet as Camille huffed, reluctantly helping the girl stand up before Camille took her nearly dry jumper and slipped it back on.
"You're amazing" she complimented, standing with the two but Yasmina was having none of it, clearly she was still annoyed at Sammy.
"Stop..." Yasmina moved to slightly lean on Camille for support,
"We may need each other to stay alive, but don't for a second think that makes us friends again. Because we're not and we will never be" Yasmina finished her sentence sternly as Sammy was visibly upset, Yasmina hobbling away as Camille was slow to follow behind the girl,
"Yasmina slow down-" Camille spoke softly as Yasmina was doing her best to speed off as fast as she could but her ankle was slowing her down, even Camille could feel the pain in her own knee.
Shit. Her knee.
"Shit-" Camille cussed under her breath as she stumbled, dropping down yet she caught herself on a low concrete wall they were walking by as she lowered herself and sat upon the wall.
She didn't even notice the cloth that was originally around her knee must have slipped off in the water leaving her without much support.
Yasmina spun around and hobbled back to the girl, standing weakly on her stronger ankle watching the girl as her arms were firmly crossed, still fuming at Sammy to the point she couldn't get words to form.
Yasmina watched Camille lift her shirt and begin tearing away again, catching a glimpse of the girl's body once more as she felt her eyes widen in seeing how physically fit the girl was though it wasn't the first time she'd seen Camille without a shirt now.
"This hurts...bad.." Camille muttered to herself as she moved her jeans out of the way, seeing the purple and brown colours across her oddly shaped knee.
Camille winced as she tied off the shirt firmly, standing up again to face Yasmina, she opened her mouth to speak but suddenly an ear-piercing alarm began blaring out as everybody's hands covered their ears quickly at the loud noise, looked around with confusion.
"What in the hell is that for, the end of the world?!"
