Hello everyone! Thank you all for your loving comments and critiques over the past several years. I appreciate every single one of you who read this story! Thank you to everyone who will read this update.
For those who haven't heard, Wattpad recently signed a new deal with Paramount. This deal entails one point in particular that concerns myself and many of my fellow writers. Essentially, Wattpad, and by extension, Paramount, now have full ownership of stories posted on the website, and can capitalize on these stories however they please. Wattpad has already began stealing and selling people's original works. The original writers haven't received any of the profits made from their hard work, and have barely even received any credit.
I'm removing all my stories from Wattpad, both in an effort to keep my original works from being stolen for profit, and in protest of this horrible new contract. It is wrong to blatantly steal and profit off of other people's hard work, and I won't allow a company, let alone a multi-billion dollar company steal my works.
I more than appreciate the kind comments left on my stories in the past year, and I don't want to abandon them completely. Updates may be slow, but for anyone interested, my uncompleted stories will continue on Quotev. Username spookedblossom is me. As mentioned in the previous update (now removed), I decided to VERY SLOWLY rewrite this fanfic. It is retitled Warmth in the Dark and will also be available to read on Quotev!
EDIT: After realizing nobody uses Quotev anymore, I've decided to post them on AO3 as well, though this may take a few days from when I've originally posted this update. My username there will be spookyblossom.
I advise any other writer on Wattpad to remove their works and repost them on a website that respects your intellectual property as your own, such as AO3, or even Quotev, as I am. If anybody needs help through any steps of relocating their stories, feel free to ask. Please take care of yourselves and value your hard work.
