"I can't feel my feet anymore"
Kenji groaned as they had walked and walked and had been for a long time when Ben of all people screamed loudly, everybody did after him as he had only stepped on a twig, everybody glaring at Ben,
"It's okay, Ben" Darius reassured the boy with a sigh, "We're all on edge"
"And lost..." Yasmina added on, glaring over at the two boys who had been leading.
"Yeah, we've been out here for a while now. Darius, are we sure we're still headed towards the park?" Sammy questioned looking over to him as Brooklynn was already headed her way to start an argument,
"And that was about ten minutes of them not fighting yeah?" Camille said towards Ben who was swatting the air around him as she blinked before taking off her jacket she fanned the air around Ben, refreshing him whiles getting rid of the bugs swarming the boy,
"Thanks, Cami," Ben said with a crack in his voice, per usual, she threw her jacket over her shoulders giving him a finger gun and clicking her tongue before turning back to the commotion she missed leaning on a tree for support,
"My fellow campers, chill! What we need here is someone who can make the hard call on what to do next" Kenji pointed upwards walking towards Darius,
"Since I'm obviously leadership material...I'll do this" everybody looked at Kenji with a displeased look before he continued,
"And my first decree as a leader is for everyone to stop talking and just listen to Darius..!"
"Huh?" He leaned closer to Darius whispering to the boy,
"You got us out of the camp alive. Plus, I can blame you if anybody gets eaten" Kenji added on as he let out a satisfied breath, "Leadership"
"Please, you're just trying to cover up the fact that you're lost, too, Mr. VIP" Brooklynn declared with her arms crossed,
Camille moved her hand down and felt the pocket of her jeans for a brief moment feeling her phone as her face lit up, she dropped her bat to the ground but the moment she grabbed her phone and checked it was shattered,
"I wish I could've helped as I just found my phone but it's busted, I can barely do anything other than tell you the time...well one digit..." She slumped forwards feeling like a let down holding up the cracked phone before reaching and grabbing her bat again,
"None of us know where we are anyways.." Brooklynn grumbled while crossing her arms,
"I know where we are! We're by the Carnotaurus paddock!" Darius called as he began speed walking, "I thought this place looked familiar"
"Am I an excellent leader or what?" Kenji said to the others with a wide grin, his chest puffed high,
"no, don't even.." Camille deadpanned.
"I remember the fence," Darius said as he pushed through tall grass before they reached the paddock fence, "The broken, ripped-down fence..."
"That means...That means Toro is out here... with us..." Ben said holding his hands close to his body,
"Now we have to deal with the Indominus and Toro. Hold up-- How do you know about Toro?" Kenji and Camille awkwardly look at each other the moment Darius asked,
"We all know. Kenji for some reason, blurted it to Camille who told everybody like, the day after it happened" Yasmina said as she walked between the two boys.
"In my defense, me saving you was super cool and Camille is...manipulative..." Kenji raised his hands, Camille gave a thumbs-up as everybody looked back at her with a look of 'really?',
Darius sighed as everybody turned back continuing their journey.
Brooklynn during the walk seemed frustrated, walking past Sammy she slightly bumped into the girl as Camille passed by following Brooklynn, Yasmina approached Sammy with a more comforting tone.
"Don't let Brooklynn upset you. She's just being...Brooklynn" Yasmina said as the two continued walking up stopping with everybody else as they found the body of a dead dinosaur including a busted gyrosphere.
"The Indominus rex was here.." Sammy said quietly to the others,
"Predators don't kill prey and then just leave without feeding. This...this isn't right"
"The poor thing.." Camille leaning on her bat as they all moved closer to examine when suddenly rustling and grumbling noises came from the tall grass they all let out short gasps before they all dashed to a hiding spot when they all turn around to see a familiar face come through the bushes.
"Bumpy!" Ben called as he ran over to greet his friend as he hugged the small dinosaur.
Kenji walked forward to the duo "how do you even know that's the same dinosaur?"
"Her big head bump" Ben moved from the hug as he looked at Bumpy,
"Dr. Wu said she's asymmetrical, but he's wrong that it's bad. And so what if she is asymmetrical?"
"She's beautiful Ben but we have to keep going..." Camille added as she pocketed a hand before they decided to continue on after dragging Ben away from Bumpy having to leave her behind.
They began tracking towards the closest area to them, being the lab in hopes of finding a form of communication.
Yasmina lifted up a leaf allowing Sammy to pass underneath it before she noticed Camille and Brooklynn walking as Brooklynn's head was closest to the leaf, clearly still fuming at Brooklynn going off at Sammy,
Yasmina let go of the leaf, quickly moving to Sammy in hopes the leaf would smack Brooklynn.
Camille's reflexes stopped the leaf before it smacked Brooklynn as the girl with pink hair ducked down at the sudden movement by her head before looking at Camille,
"What was that for Cam?" Brooklynn chuckled while Yasmina looked back at the duo,
"Just accidentally let go of the leaf, butterfingers--" Yasmina looked back as she heard Camille take the blame, a sick feeling growing in her stomach as the girl folded her arms in shame.
Suddenly the group stop as a whole as they noticed Ben was further behind, as they approached Ben made his fingers into guns standing in front of a bush.
"How's it..hanging'...dudes?" Ben tried acting naturally as a Darius looked at the bush behind him,
"Ben, are you hiding Bumpy in that bush?"
It was clear she was in the bush as the grunts and bellows were obvious.
"Sounds like Kenji snoring.." The boy turned to Camille placing his hands on his hips as she slowly crept back as he pointed to fingers to his eyes then towards Camille, signaling that he was always watching her before he spun around again.
"Nope. That could be anything. The jungle makes all sorts of weird noises" Bumpy unclear of how hiding worked, jumped out of the bush as Ben fell with Bumpy pushing him.
"How did she get here?" He said innocently acting as if it wasn't his fault.
"We don't have time for this! There are dinosaurs eating people out here, and Bumpy can't keep up!" Yasmina said moving towards Ben.
"Ben with all due respect, Yaz is right, unless you want to be eaten next," Camille said folding her arms as her brows knit together tightly.
"She can move faster. Ankylosauruses run fast. Right, Darius?" Ben asked in the hope of an answer that would keep Bumpy from being left behind,
"When they're fully grown, maybe, but she's just..." Bumpy began rolling onto the floor.
"Wow! Yeah, total speed demon.."
The group turned as they began walking away, Kenji stood for a moment while eyeing Ben,
"Say goodbye, Ben," he said before walking with the rest.
"No! You say hello because she is coming with us! So... there!" Ben retaliated against what the group said,
Brooklynn spun around, "Ben, you're not thinking this through. Bumpy's too slow"
"Then...then we'll put her in the van!" Ben said as everybody seemed confused at what he just said,
"What van?" Sammy asked placing her hands on her hips before Ben pointed over her shoulder "That one!!" They all turn to see a black van.
"How convenient that's there," Camille said itching the side of her head before everybody looked around at one another, they headed straight over.
"It's an ACU transport! Asset containment unit. Got the tour of their HQ" Kenji jumped up into the truck,
"Super hardcore dino-trapping security dudes" he said sliding onto a seat,
"They usually carry weapons around in these vans so I'm surprised there are none..." Camille added, she'd had meetings about the park before and learnt about the different ins and outs of the park along with Kenji and their fathers.
"Then where are they?" Darius asked as they all went silent, looking around when Brooklynn noticed something on one of the seats.
"Is that a tablet? Brooklynn pushed through grabbing the tablet as she took a seat while Sammy grabbed the walkie-talkie, sitting where it was.
"What did they tell us?" Sammy thought for e moment about Roxie and Dave
"Six?" Camille answered still standing outside of the van with Yasmina and Ben.
"Oh, right. Come on, channel six" she switched through the channels before finding six,
"Dave, Roxie! Can y'all hear us?" The static crackled throughout the van as they waited patiently,
"And of course, this doesn't have communication enabled..." Brooklynn said about the tablet before she facepalmed, "Because you know what? Why would it?"
She swung an arm up before dropping it in defeat, "If I had my phone-"
"Enough already!" Darius screamed at the girl causing her face to drop,
"There are bigger things going on here than your phone!" Brooklynn looked hurt at what Darius said as she was only trying to help before she looked down hearing a beep from the tablet.
"There's a map program with little moving dots on it" Camille boosting herself onto the van with a gentle hop, staggering but she was able to catch herself with her bat as Yasmina and Darius and Ben followed her into the van as well.
"They chip all the dinosaurs electronically to track them, See?" Darius pointed out, "There's us, and there's..."
Kenji looked over pointing now, "Wait. Here's the Brachiosaurus Grove on the map, so why are the Brachiosauruses way over there?"
"I think maybe the fences are down. At least some of them.." Darius said before Bumpy began whining and groaning as Ben jumped out to comfort her,
"Ben you should've left her when we said.." Camille snapped as she clenched her fists around her bat, irritated at the noises Bumpy was making,
"Easy girl..!" he began patting her as loud thumping was heard from a distance as Ben looked around growing worried.
"Guys? Something's coming this way" he called back as everybody looked over to the map,
"That's weird. Whatever that is, it isn't showing up on the tablet.." Brooklynn said as her voice became concerned,
"What kind of dinosaur wouldn't have a transponder?" Darius began thinking,
"I am not in the mood to find out," Kenji said in a lower voice before Bumpy began making more noise, Camille watched Yasmina walk over towards him.
"Ben shut her up!" Yasmina whispered towards the boy who was trying to calm her when suddenly a loud roar rang out as they all scream in a sudden panic.
"We gotta go now!" Darius called as Ben moved bumpy inside as they all buckled the seatbelts up, Yasmina leaping inside the van before the doors slammed shut.
"Go! Go!" They all called before pausing,
"Wait! Doesn't anyone know how to drive a van?" Darius looked around as everybody seemed way too inexperienced.
Most of them twelve to at least fourteen with three of them being the oldest of the group, Yasmina was 15 and so was Kenji, Camille being sixteen years old made her the oldest.
"No, but we drove gyrospheres, right? It can't be that different" Sammy said looking at the wheel.
"The gyrospheres had joysticks and a Jimmy Fallon tutorial," Ben said, his voice shaking "I don't even have my learners permit!"
"I do!" Camille and Kenji yelled in unison, the duo jumped into the front seats with Kenji in the drivers seat,
"Wait why am I driving! Don't you have that AM license or whatever?!" Kenji said to Camille while trying to start the truck,
"Yes! But that's for motorcycles idiot, now drive!!" She snapped, the tires screeched as the van drove off quickly reversing before Kenji moved the gear speeding off quickly before the Indominus Rex began gaining on them at immense speeds as everybody yelled at Kenji to drive faster.
"It's gaining! Go faster!"
"You're in the wrong gear!!"
"Step on that thing!"
"Kenji!!!"
"Zigzag!"
"Are you signaling?"
Kenji cracked, screaming at them all, "Can everyone not yell at me while I'm saving our lives?"
The Indominus Rex got closer as it roared, the saliva spitting onto the back glass as Camille grabbed the wheel,
"Hold on!!!" She pulled the wheel to the side, taking them off the road and over a ledge as they all screamed, rising into the air and out of their seats before landing roughly on the ground, speeding down a hill as Kenji did his best to dodge the trees in their path.
Everybody grabbed onto their seats for support when they suddenly went over a rock sending them into the air again before the van skidded and landed sideways on a path. They all pant, taking quick breaths, feeling nauseous from the ride.
"At least we lost Indominus.." Brooklynn assured the others, panting heavily as she held the iPad.
"I think I've...learnt that I'm...car sick," Camille said, her head spinning from all the action as she let out a shaky breath, her eyes felt like they were spinning in separate directions as she saw doubles of everybody in the van,
"Now...where do we go?" Yasmina asked looking Brooklynn's way who held the tablet,
"How about into the genetics lab?" Ben points out as everybody quickly looks at him, amazed at the things he keeps finding,
"It's a gift" he shrugged looking at the group,
"You're going to need to share that gift with me," Camille said with a long pant afterward.

The door to the lab hissed as it slid open, walking inside they all noticed a cake sitting out on a desk with multiple candles lit yet there was nobody inside as the rest of the lab was trashed and wrecked entirely,
"What?" Darius looked around, confused and so did everybody else, taking cautious steps through the doorway,
"who's birthday is it because that wasn't here before right?" Camille looked around the group as they all shook their heads.
They cautiously went to continue inside when suddenly a man pops up from behind the counter making everybody scream as they jumped back towards the wall. Camille whipped her bat up into her grip but they were all blinded as a bright lamp was shinned in their eyes.
"Not dinosaurs. You're not...dinosaurs..." the man said slumped over the counter with a big sigh, "This is the worst birthday ever..."
"Who the hell..." Camille began as the man stood up fixing a party hat he had on,
"Come in...come in...get some...cake..." He ushered everybody over towards the plates that were on the counter before he began frantically running around while muttering things to himself,
"Were happy to have found you, sir!" Darius said trying to make conversation but the man pressed himself up against one of the windows looking around desperately,
"They said this would happen...on my birthday of all times..." The man kept repeating as everybody seemed just as confused,
"Again, we are so happy we found you. Things are crazy!" Darius said picking up a plate with cake on it,
"There's a giant camouflaged dinosaur out there. Also, regular dinosaurs. We've been hoping to find someone--"
The man cut in, "You're sure you closed the door behind you, right?"
"Uh...I think so" Darius sounded uncertain of his answer,
"You think, or you know?" The man said eyeing Darius as he turned back pressing himself against the glass,
"The dinosaurs got out and no one bothered to tell me; they just ran," He said mumbling multiple things under his breath as Camille was taking a look at the damage of the lab, how could it have gotten this bad?
Brooklynn slammed the phone down on a desk after trying everything she could to call somebody, "Ugh! There's no dial tone!"
"The landlines are down. So is the radio, and cell phone service keeps cutting out" The man said as he was crouched down to the floor,
"But the park obviously has a plan" Darius put his plate down on a table, "So, what's that plan? What do we do?"
"You're asking me?" The man turned around as he began laughing, getting more menacing the more he laughed, each kid felt more creeped out than before, "Asking me?"
"Is that, like, a good freaky laugh?" Sammy asked as the man slowly stood still wheezing and laughing,
"Do you not get it?" He chuckled menacingly, Camille came around the corner standing close behind Darius,
"We're doomed. No one is coming to help!"
Kenji spoke up taking a step forward, "But what about Dr. Wu, or--"
"Wu? Who do you think is to blame? Wu got greedy. And instead of dinosaurs, he built monsters!" He moved his arm motioning over to a incubator that was still functioning,
The odd scientist made his way over, "Masrani, Dearing, they're all clueless about what's really going on here" He took an egg holding it close to his face,
"And after everything, I did for the other guys--"
"Other guys?" Brooklynn looked over, "What other--"
"It doesn't matter, does it? Jurassic World isn't a park. It's a powder keg, and it is detonating all around us!" Kenji dropped his plate as everybody jumped, it was growing eerie within the lab,
"We're all going down. End of story!"
"No, you have to know what to do. You're an adult!" Darius said quickly with worry in his eyes ,
"Don't look at me. I was just hiding until you all barged in..." The man rudely said,
"But we drove all the way here 'cause--" Darius began,
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!" The man gripped Darius by his shoulders, Camille took a step closer pushing the man back before he gripped Camille's bat and pulled her in,
"You have a vehicle?" The man then pushed Camille's bat away, causing her to crash into Darius as the two painfully fell to the floor before the scientist sprinted out of the building,
"Guys..." Kenji spoke up as all eyes fell on him, "I left the keys in the van",
Kenji admitted before Camille pulled Darius to his feet as she hobbled before they all began sprinting outside.
"Stop! What are you doing?" Darius called out as the man stopped by the van, everybody else stopping too,
"Getting out of here alive!" The man pulled the van door open hopping inside as Yasmina ran forwards now, Camille following behind knowing she had the capacity to keep up but soon realized it was much harder to run with the pain in her knee,
"Camille, get back--" Yasmina called but tripped over Bumpy who had run in the way, Camille jumping over the two, landing swiftly with a small skid before hopping on her non injured leg and catching herself with her bat.
"Bumpy!" Yasmina yelled before she was moved to her feet, Camille pulled the girl to keep running before the Van drove straight towards them, both girls moving aside before they went chasing after the van again with the others following behind.
The van picked up in speed as the two girls did too, They were getting closer to reaching the van until a white blur off in the bushes caught Camille off guard, causing her to come to a sliding stop,
"Yaz move!--" The Indominus rex came from the trees knocking the van off the path as Yasmina slipped into the floor, stopping herself as she froze on the ground before Camille slid forward, grabbing Yasmina once again and pulling her to the others with a strong grip on her forearm.
The screams of the birthday man were heard as they all began running before being met with a large fence as the roars and growls grew closer they kept running hiding behind a clearing of rocks.
Camille collapsed on her side, bringing her knee close to her chest letting out a breath of agony while her grip around her bat tightened,
"I told you she'd get in the way! If it wasn't for her, I could have made the van.." Yasmina said to Ben in a harsh tone,
"And then you would have been eaten, Bumpy saved your life!" Ben stated with a clear argument,
Yasmina grew upset, turning it into anger as she took it out on Ben, "Why couldn't you just leave her behind?"
"Because I won't abandon her like we were!" Ben yelled, the group all falling silent as only their breaths could be heard during the moment.
"Ben's right...We're on our own" Darius said as the mood lowered before another deafening roar was heard, everybody screaming once more.
Darius slowly stood to his feet as Camille sat up and crawled over, looking with him as they peeked over the rocks,
"got a plan yet?" She whispered in his ear as the two looked around,
"thinking...hold on--" he hushed before they saw the nose of the Indominus rex from behind a large shipping box, dropping into a crouch immediately before they peeked again looking out into the clearing Darius noticed a free van as he pointed over elbowing Camille lightly.
The two nodded at each other as Darius motioned for everybody to follow they all dashed over hiding, momentarily Darius looked for any sign of the Indominus as it came around a corner suddenly causing Darius to drop behind a barrel.
Everybody pressed their backs against the metal keeping their breathing as silent as physically possible,
The Indominus suddenly stormed over, peeking its head around the shipping container as everybody had moved along already, it let out a short roar deep from within its throat until the others noticed that Kenji and Ben had gotten stuck being a barrel and were unable to run when they did.
Camille looked to Darius as he was searching through the grass, Camille began inching around a corner as she dived across the grass and landed beside another container. Darius looked over to her as he watched Camille raise her bat, beginning to hit it against the metal container getting the attention on the louder noise until she felt a heavy tug on the bat.
Camille was ripped out of her hiding spot by the Indominus grabbing the bat and pulling the girl off the ground, the bat snapped immediately as Camille was thrown through the air and even over one of the metal containers before she crashed into Brooklynn taking her painfully to the ground.
The tablet slipped from Brooklynn's hands, the moment it hit the floor a beeping noise emitted from it.
Brooklynn quickly moved to turn it off while Camille was up to her feet trying to pull Brooklynn with her but Sammy suddenly tackled the pink-haired girl out of the way causing Camille to stack it forwards until she noticed why Sammy tackled Brooklynn.
The Indominus rex staggering through and headed towards the two girls as Camille crawled away and up to her feet.
Yasmina and Ben were already diving into the van as Camille began sprinting to the van. She dived into the front seat again as she looked back over the chair, they could all hear louds roars before Sammy and Brooklynn came running and threw themselves inside the van,
"Wait! Where's Darius?" Yasmina called while sliding into the drivers seat, Kenji clambered over squishing beside Camille in fear,
"He's coming!" Brooklynn called out, "Go! Go!" Yasmina did as she was told, starting up the van immediately. Ben and Sammy held the back doors open as Darius sprinted into the clearing, the Indominus chasing behind him but luckily enough Darius was able to make a giant leap to the van as the wheels turned beneath the dirt before driving off, finally loosing the Indominus.
Silence filled the van before it was overcome with cheers and sounds of rejoicing as they had escaped the massive beast all alive.
"Kids? Come on, pick up!" The walkie-talkie blared out as Darius picked it up,
"There's something going on. Stay at camp. We're heading to you!"
"No, we're heading to you!" Darius smugly said with a victorious smile,
"Darius! Wait, why are you--" Roxie's voice was heard over the static, "We're fine, but we had to leave camp.."
"What?!" The two counselors say in unison cutting in and out,
"Long story-" Darius answers,
"We fell from the zipline," Camille adds finishing his sentence with a chuckle, massaging her aching knee,
"Short story: a dinosaur ate camp-" Yasmina adds on from the driver's seat, her eyes fixated on the road ahead,
"Shorter story: epic leader Kenji somehow got everyone out safely" Kenji brags with a grin,
"And then we found a van and Bumpy!" Ben finished the story while holding the smaller dinosaur by his legs,
Nothing came over the walkie-talkie as both adults were astonished at the story.
"We're cutting through the jungle and heading to the main park. Should be there soon!" Darius said as he turned the walkie-talkie off, looking around at everybody's smiling faces,
"We're getting out of here!" Brooklynn suddenly cheered and so did everybody else,
"Yeah! You hear that, Bumpy?" Ben called, looking down at Bumpy with wide eyes as the young dinosaur cheered happily,
"Whoo! Driver en route!" Kenji gave a heavy sigh, looking back to Darius, "Good job not getting me eaten, bro.."
"Thanks, brah," Darius said in return with a wide smile,
"Oh, no, you-- you made that sound weird. No more bro-talk for you" The two smile as everybody looks around at one another with big smiles on their faces and a look of relief in their eyes.
Brooklynn leaned over to Sammy, going for a high-five,
"We did it, camp family!" The Texas girl laughed with joy as she reached out to crash hands with Brooklynn,
"And not a moment too--" Suddenly the van drove over a few bumpy rocks as a pink blur flew from the seat down onto the floor of the van.
Brooklynn's phone.
"My phone...I knew it!" Brooklynn stomped her foot, her teeth grit together in anger as Camille looked back at Sammy before her gaze fell onto the floor.
"You were right...from the very start...in the lab and all..." Camille added staring at the phone as she furrowed her brows, looking to Kenji beside her who had the same shocked face,
"We were right..." Brooklynn mutters underneath her breath as Sammy's breathing picked up in fear.
"Huh?" Yasmina looked back towards the girl as she could see the phone on the floor, her heartbreaking, Sammy, her "best friend" wouldn't do this, surely not?
Yet Yasmina's eyes flickered with anger and her face said it all as it broke in her voice as well,
"Sammy?" with her gaze away from the road suddenly...
CRASH-!!!
