When my twin suggested auditioning for a televison show, I didn't know what to think. Let alone a dating show. But since it was based off of one of my favorite shows recently, I couldn't say no. It was a long shot for us to get picked anyways. We never got opportunities like that. In my mind, it was just another silly thing to indulge in with my twin.
So we did our audition video together, hoping that the twin aspect would get us an in. His idea.
So when we both got an acceptance packet in the mail, I nearly puked myself.
We were going to be on a dating show. Broadcasted to the world. I would be dating other people from around the country. This was just something I couldn't wrap my head around.
The packet consisted of a set of rules.
Rule #1: No contact with the outside world for 31 days.
Rule #2: Must undergo background check.
Rule #3: Must undergo psych evaluation.
Rule #4: No sexual harassment.
Rule #5: No leaving the grounds unless permitted.
Rule #6: No acknowleging the crew.
Rule #7: No property damage.
Rule #8: No violence.
Rule #9: No unprotected sexual intercourse.
Rule #10: No sharing last names.
I mean, that was a pretty good set of rules. Some that should be more than easy to follow.
We also had to go get fitted for outfits for the show so that would be fun. We couldn't bring any normal clothing. It had to be outfits that fit with the regency era, which explained the fitting of clothes.
The show would be taking place in a beautiful castle in Ireland and would last for 31 days. A whole month. It would be taking place in a couple of months in October. There would be sixteen of us, eight girls and eight boys. We would be getting a lady or sir in waiting to help us with things like getting dressed, sending letters and other tasks like that. They were taking this Bridgerton Experience seriously.
I was excited, but so nervous. I would actually be on a dating show.
I didn't really think I would find love while there, but it didn't hurt to have fun and experience something new and exciting.
