" It was . I had auditioned for a reality show in states . And everything was set. I was supposed to go there but - " She gulped the lump in her throat

" I realised this wasn't the best option to go for. My travelling and residence expense would have been incurred by the production. But what if i did get selected. How would have i managed Pra's school and tution fees there. For example if i would have even gone forward with singing , i would have to take a house there , at that time we weren't that settled . and in the long term , i never saw myself earning enough to manage me and pratik. So i decided to stay back and go forward with my studies. " She explained and looked at him to see his eyes glistening with tears

" I am sorry. I don't even know what you would have gone through. I love what i do and it was my passion , so i know the feeling when you follow your heart. But i am sorry you couldn't get to do that" He held her hand , squeezing it .
" It's okay sunny. I have accepted the truth . That's how life is right ? And i love what i do right now too " She smiled softly at him .How did she even get this man ?
" I promise i am going to take you to states with me and make you visit all of the places you want . Yeah ? "

He walked closer and went to stand at the door of her side.
" No sunny Please. We are going to get wet , and then fall sick . I don't want that " She shook her head with a mortified expresion

" Aahh ... Sunny please no. I hate rains " She squealed and kept pulling back but he stubbornly brought her in the rain . She glared at him and hit him on the shoulder as rain drowned her .
" No one can hate rain laddoo " He shouted and she squealed as he twirled her around .
" Abhi kal dekhiyo kaise sore throat aur behti hui naak leke ghumega tu " She said cutely and he ked her to a tea stall in the corner. They sat in the shed as they waited for their teas .
" You know , why don't you just try and continue with your singing career now ? " He asked her seriosuly and she looked baffled at him
" What ? It's too late now Karan ."
" teju it's never too late. You can still try and even if it doesn't work out you'll have a steady income with you from the firm"

"Why the fuck is my phone ringing continuosly Rohit ? . " She shouted as her meeting ended
" Didn't i tell you to manage calls ? "
" Yeah , but i think you .. should ... uhmm "
" Can you speak faster we don't have the whole day . " She shouted rudely and he got scared .
" Sorry .. Sorry Ma'am, you should check the news once "She dismissed him and opened her phone . Her face paled a little seeing Karan and his ex- girlfriend's picture . They were in a cafe and someone had captured them discreetly.

She threw the phone on the couch and sat there angrily. Ofcourse she was angry . Not that she doubted him. She knew there must be some reason that he went to meet her , but couldn't he just tell her . He had told her he was going to a meeting for a new show. Was this his new show ?
He lied and she hated liars .
She had seen enough people in her life who lied to her and she couldn't tolerate one more.

Her body shivered as the tears that should have rolled down stayed till the eyes only. Karan sat beside her offering water to her. She wasn't even able to hold the cup tight , so he made her drink himself.
" He's going to be fine Teja. " He kept a comforting hand on her shoulder
" I know. He has to be " She whispered and subconsciously kept her head on his shoulder . He froze at her touch for a moment. Then gently keeping his hand on her head he patted it .
He felt something wet on his shirt and looked down at her . It was her tears drops . " Teja ? " She shut her eyes tight as the more tears rolled down . He pulled her in for a side hug and softly wiped her tears . His fingers carressed her cheeks making small circles trying to sooth her. Thank god she didn't realise who she was hugging , she would have never cried infront of him if she was aware it was him .
Her eyes met his and she instantly straightened up. She looked away wiping her tears . He shook his head at how correct he was. She may be unpredictable at times , but somethings of her will remain predictable.
" I saw Nandish today . " She murmured
and it took him a second to realise she was talking to him
" Huh ?"
" I saw Nandish down at one of the resraurants . He's Rashami's ex husband you know that right ? "
" Yeahh , i know that. What i am trying to way is we'll talk about this later. This is not the time. " He replied still confused. How was Nandish related to all this.
" Why? What's wrong. The hearing is in 5 days Karan . And i am guessing it would be the last one. If we won't find anything solid this time , there are major chances of us losing " She emphasised
" I know . But Pra is more important right now . And i understand that . So need not take pressure . "
" What has happened to Pra ? Karan ,i know he is going to get up in a few hours. So why waste time worrying about him when we can invest in finding new leads. " He looked bewildered at her . She was in denial ofcourse. She wasn't ready to believe there was a possibilty of pra not waling up . He looked at her softly not knowing what to say to her
" Ya so i was saying , i saw Nandish , It was his vehicle that snatched the knife from us "
" What ? " He shouted a bit and nurse in the corner warned him to keep it down
" Yeah . It was his. And the way i saw him today i don't think it was a usual meeting. He looked like threatening someone " She explained and he nodded understanding
" So what are we going to do now from here ? " He asked. He knew it wouldn't matter to him if he knew what she was going to do next since he ofcourse will have no hand in that. But he asked her , as her work was the only thing that was distracting her .
" Abhishek informed that two of the staffs are nowhere to be found. there's no information on them . No doubt they either helped the murderer or one of them was the murderer itself "
" And i have a meeting planned with Nandish . I am going to confront him" She added and he nodded.
" Do you doubt him . You know may be-"
" I cannot say anything before meeting him . But everytime i tried to ignore that it must be just a coincidence , i realise the only person we have some clues against is him. "
" Okay. Do you want me to come with you ? " He asked in a small voice .
" No " She shouted immediately and he frowned
" I mean no . It's not needed. I'll manage." She covered up . She didn't want to be here. It will not be easy to talk to Nandish about the person he was with today at the restaurant and she didn't want Karan to witness that.
" I'll come back after dropping maasi home " He said and got up . She nodded at him her face conveying how grateful she was.

He was walking towards his car in the parking as maasi waited for him on the entry gate. He didn't look ahead and got bumped into someone. He looked at the person and his eyes widened.
He clenched his fists trying to stop emotions from resurfacing .
