5 years later
"Your not too shabby at being Don after all brother", Noah said as he passed Nicholas a glass of whiskey, a lot of things have changed in the past few years but my oldest brothers love for whiskey hasn't.
"I can't believe it's been almost 2 years since I took over" he said and I shirked, "yah well you look like you've been don for at least 30 years. Seriously you look worse than dad did"
Aaron and Noah burst out laughing while Nicholas glares at me and then shakes his head in disapproval
"It's nice that we can finally laugh again after all these years" Aaron says with a sad smile and I nod in agreement.
It was tough at the beginning, so much happened so quickly and we felt our family being torn apart from the inside out, but everything calmed down and went back to normal eventually
Well as normal as it can get
Rodrigo walks into the living room while putting his phone away into his pocket, he looks worried. Rodrigo never looks worried.
"Liam is coming back" is all he says before sitting down, Noah passes him a glass and Rodrigo takes it great fully, drinking the whole glass in whole go
"Why now? Why after all these years?" Aaron asks with anger and confusion laced in his voice
Liam's father was killed in a attack a few months after Emilia was taken and Liam has never been the same since then.
He stayed in the US for a few months but eventually he packed up everything and moved to England without telling anyone but his family
We have known that he's been alright because he still is in contact with Nicholas for business at times but any in person meetings his brother Will goes in his place
"I don't know, he just called and told me" Rodrigo said, we all were upset to loose Liam but he took it the hardest, they were close friends and Rodrigo has never been one to have loads of friends like Aaron for example
"Did you know anything about this Nic?" I looked at him and he frowned, "don't call me that, only she can" he says
"Did you know?", Rodrigo asks him again angrily and Nicolas shrugs "I knew he was actually going to be attending the ball this year"
"Fuck I forgot about the ball, do I have to go?" Noah browns and Nicholas nods "we are hosting it"

"You we're all late, I thought I told you guys to meet me at 9" Nicholas looked at his watch "it's 10 now"
"Sorry I had business to take care of" I shrugged "we all did" Rodrigo agreed
"And some of us still aren't finished" I finished
"Clearly" Nicholas rubbed his temples
"Should we start or keep waiting?" Aaron asked
"Let's wait a few more minutes", Rodrigo said downing another glass
We all know these minutes are going to turn into hours

3 hours before
Aim, deep breath and pull the trigger, just like I've done every time before tonight
"Target is in position", Jay told me through the speaker
Let's do this
Aim, I looked through the eyepiece making sure my target was in sight
Deep breath, I took one deep breath and let it out slowly as I took aim...
And pull the trigger
I watched as my target looked around confused for a few seconds as the window shattered and then as the bullet hit him he fell to the floor most likely with a loud thud
"Fuck that never gets easier" I mutter as I put my gun back into a bag and make my way off the roof
"It's done", I say into my ear piece and then chuck it off the roof, no evidence, never... no matter what
I heard my phone ring as I threw my big into the boot of my car, I declined it without even nothing to see who it was
If it's something important they will call again
The passenger door opened and Jay got inside swiftly. "Another job done", he patted my leg as I rolled my eyes and started driving off
"Do you have time for a celebratory drink?" He asked me and I nodded "I do"
I have 2 hours before the family meeting, that should be more than enough time for a quick drink... wrong
"Let's go to Bailey's" he asked and I nodded as I took a right so that I could get on the right road
"Have you spoken to Johnny recently?", I asked jay as we got out of the car and made our way inside the club
Despite it being only 7 the line to get inside was at least an hour wait, not that it mattered to us I walked straight past the people, completely ignoring the ones who told us to get to the back of the line
I nodded at the bouncer who already new my face and name so he didn't even take a second to question me as he opened the door and let us enter
"I haven't but he's on his honeymoon what do you expect?" Jay laughed and I nodded
Johnny and Lucy got married a week ago after being together for over 5 years, Jay was confused as to why they wanted to get married now rather than wait until we finished collage next year but to each to their own I guess
"Do you think we are missing out? So many people we know are getting married?" I asked as the bartender put a glass of white wine in-front of me
"We are only 21, what are you having second thoughts about our pact?" Jay shoved my shoulder playfully and I shook my head quickly
We made a pact 3 years ago when Jay got cheated on that we would stay single together and have fun until we eventually one day drop.
After everything that happened I agreed in a heartbeat, I had a similar pact with myself but it's always more fun to party with your best friend
"Never" I said and Jay laughed
"Your mother isn't asking for grand babies yet? Mine sure is" he signed and I chuckled
"That's because I posses two things you don't, one I have brothers who can give her grand babies and two my family is over protective so they wouldn't dare try setting me up or asking for babies" I said and Jay signed
"Sometimes I regret being an only child"
I laugh and raise my glass to him "trust me you don't but cheers to a successful night" I said and we clinked our glasses together
"Thank you for your help again, I know you hate doing stuff like that" he said and I shrugged
"I don't hate it... it's in my blood after all"
"Whatever you say Em, let's go dance" he took my hand and led me into the middle of the dance floor, where we spent the next hour dancing our socks off
Eventually I walked back over to the bar to get a drink to quench my thirst, "get me something fruity please" I said handing the bartender a 50$ bill as he nodded and started gather ingredients to make my drink
Jay found me a few minutes later while I was sipping my drink, "hey I am gonna head out with this chick I found" he winked and me and I laughed while shaking my head
"Alright but I will see you in 2 days for the ball right?" I asked and he nodded giving me a kiss on the head and started leaving with a girl clinging onto his arm like a cat
I should probably start leaving soon aswell, I checked my phone hoping I still have time for another drink but my mouth dropped when I saw the time
"Shit it's 9.30 already?" I gasped, I was supposed to be home at 9 and it's an hour drive home
Well at least I can put my racing skills to good use...

"Your late" Noah said stating the obvious as I entered the living room and sat down next to Rodrigo
"I had business to take care of and then lost track of time" I shrugged and Mario raised a knowing eyebrow at me
"I didn't know dancing at a club was considered business", Nicholas said and I rolled my eyes
"What did I tell you about getting James to follow me around everywhere, we agreed that I am more than capable of taking care of myself" I said
"I know, but as your older brother I have every right to worry, he keeps his distance and won't interfere unless he has to" Nicholas says and I fold my arms across my chest
Yes James still works for us, he was taken hostage when I was and we found him during the attack, dad gave him an out from the mafia but he refused and stayed on as my personal bodyguard
"Well I'm here now let's get on with the meeting", I smiled as Nicholas gave me a cold look
"I'm never late and the one time I am your kicking my ass for it?" I questions and he signed
"We just don't want you falling back into your old... habits", Noah said and I chuckled
"You mean the habits I stopped having 3 years ago and haven't had since then?"
"My life is going better than ever so why would I sabotage that now?"
Noah shrugged "I guess your right, but don't be late again please". I nodded in agreement although I can't make any promises
"Let's get this meeting started" I clapped my hands together as Aaron laughed along with Mario and Noah
"What is this meeting about again..." Rodrigo rubbed his neck and I laughed in a judging way honestly I had no bloody clue neither
"It's about the ball Rodrigo please keep up" Nicholas said

Once the meeting ended I decided to go to bed, I have an early start tomorrow morning and a lot to get done before the ball
Leave it to my brother to leave the planning of an event for the last minute and then dump it all on me since I can give it a "feminine touch" a little sexist if you ask me
Once I got to my room I placed my heels and bag on the floor as I walked to my closet to change
Finally finish I sat down at my desk and pulled out my most dreaded notebook and opened it making sure to skip the first page
I got the idea from Alexander to keep a list of people I've... killed as a coping mechanism, I rolled my eyes at his suggestion but one night when it became too much I decided to try it out and it works
The first page I avoid at all costs, the name that's at the top of my list isn't someone I want to be reminded of
"You did another job tonight?" Mario said creeping into my room
I didn't take my eyes off the notebook as I wrote the details of my victim down onto the paper
"Jay needed help" I say not looking up
"Why do you do it when we both know you hate it" he signed and I thought about it for a moment...
I hated killing people, it was thrilling but the guilt afterwards kills me slowly, but I do anything for my friends and family
Also I don't kill innocent people
"Jay needed help" I repeated again and shut the notebook before Mario caught a peek
"Jay is a big boy who can help himself" he said but I didn't bother responding
"But you do have the best shot I guess" he squeezed my shoulder and I chuckled in agreement
"Want to watch the new episode of big mouth?" He said and I nodded as we threw ourselves onto my bed
"Next time you go drinking before coming home be a little more careful, you gave Nicholas a heart attack" Mario chuckled
"Yah well I am not a kid anymore" I said and Mario went quiet
I haven't been a kid for a long time... a very long time

Sorry for the long wait I had a packed schedule and then for some reason I woke up this morning and can't move my wrist...
Also I didn't put the character POV pictures on because I am writing this chapter on my phone cuz my laptop is at home but I don't want to make you guys wait for the chapter until tomorrow so I will add them in when I get home x
