I can't believe I'm doing this I just left Scarlett and them at the table with out an explanation...they'll probably start to worry...but it's too late now and besides this is supposed to be a surprise Yeah I got this
I'm currently waiting backstage at the oscars right now getting ready to preform and to say I'm nervous is an understatement
Scar & colin, Robert & Susan, Chris.e, Lizzie & Robbie, and Sebastian were still at the table where I left them
I had been getting texts from Lizzie and Scarlett asking where I was but I couldn't say because this is supposed to be a surprise
None of them know I can sing because I don't like singing in front of people but when both Billie Eilish and The Oscars contact you to sing you don't say no
So here I am about to go on stage
"You got this n/n I wouldn't have asked you if I didn't believe you were the one to fill in for me, you have an amazing voice and are going to do so so good" Billie be giving me a pep talk
"Yeah you're right I do got this" I say with confidence giving her a high five
"That's more like it" she quietly cheered
"Your up" one of the crew says smiling and leading me to my spot
"Knock em dead"
It was completely dark on stage so I had to watch where I was going, when I found my spot I gave the signal and the guy started talking
*Lizzies pov*
Y/n still hasn't answered us and the next thing is about to start
It's not like her to just get up and walk away without telling someone why
I couldn't help but start to worry
I could tell Scar was worrying as well because it's also not like her to not answer our texts
"Maybe she went ot the bathroom?" Robbir whispers trying to calm my nerves
It works a little bit but still not enough
I can't do this...as I'm about to get up and look for her the lights on the stage turn off and a guy starts talking
I stay in my seat and look around anxiously trying to see if I can spot her
With no luck I silently hope she texts soon
(The speech obviously is a little different since Billie isn't singing instead of the 'please welcome the two blah blah blah' it will be what's below the video)
"Unfortunately Billie has fallen ill but we were able to get someone just as great to full in for her....please give it up for y/n l/n and finneas" he says pointing to the stage as music starts to play
Did he just say y/n-
Yes there she is sitting on a stool
"She can sing?!" Sebastian says shocked just like me
"Damn she's really good..." Robbie smiles once she starts singing
I couldn't help but smile and feel proud that's our girl
"That's our y/n" Robert says proudly
"I can't believe we didn't know she could sing" Scar says in disbelief
As the song went on she stood up getting more into it
She hit all the notes perfect and sounded beautiful
"No time to dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee (lmao that looks weird)" she sang
I did not expect that one and you could tell by the gasp that let my mouth
"Holy shit" Evans whispers as all of us silently agree
"How- she's supposed to be our little shy girl and look at her now singing in front of millions of people" Seb says with a smile
"She's amazing" Colin shares with a huge smile
"You can say that again" Susan mumbles
When she finished the last note we all cheered as loud as we could...if I'm being honest we were probably the loudest ones
But that's okay because THATS OUR GIRL
*Time skip y/n's pov*
Once the song was done I was lead back stage where I was pulled into a big hug
"You did amazing out there n/n thanks for literally saving us you were the first person I thought of" Billie says with a big smile
"No problem B I won't lie I was nervous but once I started singing the nerves disappeared" I smile
"There are some people looking for you by the way" she smirks
"Oh no" I playfully sigh
I leave Billie after hugging her and Finneas once again saying thank you before heading back to my table
"Heyyy" I laugh nervously
"OH MY GOD YOU WERE AMAZING" Sebby yells pulling me into a crushing hug
"Why didn't you tell us you could sing??" Evans asks
Seb let go of me and I took a deep breath trying to collect air my lungs were just deprived of before answering
"I uh usually don't sing in front of people...but when both Billie Eilish and The Oscars ask you to sing you can't say no So I sucked it up" I laugh
"Why didn't you tell us though?" Scar asks as I sit between her and Susan
Susan wrapped an arm around me and gave me a quick side hug and kiss to the cheek before letting go
"Because I wanted it to be a surprise...I hadn't sung for you before so I wanted it to be a surprise"
"Well it was a very good surprise" Robbie says making me smile
"Yeah a very very good one" Colin adds
"Your going to have to sing for us more now that we know you have an amazing voice" Chris beams
"Yeah maybe you can play the piano while I sing" I offer making him smile even more
"Of course I can"
"And Robbie can play the guitar we can be a little band" I say now full of excitement
"Its a plan" Robbie smiles
We turned our focus back to the stage as someone started speaking again
