I stare at the beautifully sewn yukata in front of me, my feet shifted from side to side. My fingers tapping my chin and my mind deciding my on outfit options.
Earlier, Kokonoi had barge into my room this morning. I remember the excitement in his eyes as he showed me the brand new yukata that he just bought in my favorite color.
I sigh and took the yukata, forgetting about my casual outfit. I stand in front of the mirror, watching as the yukata fits perfectly on my body and how the colors compliment my appearance.
After tidying up my hair, I prepare myself to go out of the room. Feeling somewhat confident I open the door ready to go out
"Well then, let's go to the firework festival" I said to myself. That's right, Kokonoi had invited everyone to come see the fireworks together.
Still not used to exploring the new mansion, I hastily walk around in search of the door that leads outside. I was about to give up when I bumped into Takeomi
"Takeomi? Where are the others?" I ask, wondering why the mansion was dead silent.
"Oh, they're waiting for you at the festival already" Takeomi said as he gestured me to follow him.
"Aren't you coming too?" I ask Takeomi, confused why he's still here as I walk beside him
"No, me and Mochi will be in the house in case if something happens" Takeomi stated, shrugging uncertainly. I raise my eyebrows but didn't say anything
Soon after, we made it to the front door. I sigh in relief as the sun was setting and the sky is getting darker by the second
"Do you want me to walk you there? Just to be safe?" Takeomi said, the hidden anxiety hiding behind his eyes. I tilt my head in confusion
"No thanks, I can handle it" I refuse him, laughing at the thought that Takeomi looks like an overprotective brother earlier
"Alright then, be careful" Takeomi waves goodbye as I made my way to the festival.
As soon as I made it, I was immediately met with a crowd of people dressed in yukata, food stalls and game stalls. My eyes sparkle at the sight, feeling excited as I stroll around the festival
Amongst the crowd I spotted the Haitanis playing the shooting range. Rindou was laughing while Ran looked deadly serious.
I took a step closer, approaching them. As soon as they spotted me, they froze on the spot with their jaw hanging open. I got closer and my hand was immediately taken by Ran
"Well hello beautiful lady" Ran smirk, his eyes gleaming playfully as he bow down to kiss my hand.
"Hey Ran and Rin" I greeted as Rindo stare at me from head to toe with a satisfied grin
"Say Aniki, why don't we have a little competition?" Rindo said, handing a few bills for another game
"Oh? And what does the winner get?" Ran asks, looking a bit uninterested. I turn my head to look at Rindo eyeing me.
"The winner will get a prize from (Y/n)" Rindo stated, pointing at my direction. I blink a few times, feeling confused.
"Deal" Ran grins with determination as he grab the gun and get ready in position.
I watched as they compete against each other a bit too aggressively, roasting each other and Ran laughing at his own jokes.
Not even ten minutes later, the game has finished. I can hear Rindo speak in a low but excited tone of voice.
"I won" Rindo said, smiling smugly at Ran. Ran only chuckles as he punch Rindo lightly on the shoulder
"I'll get you next time" Ran said playfully. Rindo turn to me with something in his hands.
"For you, my queen" Rindo said, handing me a prize from the game. I look down to see a cute neko plushie. I smile at Rindo as he stare at me with interest
"Now, my prize" Rindo said, waiting for something from me. I thought about it for a while before asking
"Fine, what do you want?" I ask, half shrugging. Rindo tap his chin, thinking about it for a moment. Rindo suddenly pointed his finger to his lip
"Kiss me" Rindo said seriously. I tilt my head, looking around. Ran was quietly chuckling behind Rindo
"Right here? Right now?" I ask Rindo as he starts to smirk shamelessly. I sigh and got closer to him until our bodies were a few inches away from each other.
I stood on my tiptoes as Rindo take my face in both of his hands. We both leaned in closer as our lips merge into a kiss. We pulled away as Rindo smiled with satisfaction
"Where are the others?" I ask them. Ran claimed that Mikey and Sanzu were obviously somewhere around the food stall.
"What about Kakucho and Kokonoi?" I ask, looking around for any signs of them.
"As for them, we don't really know" Ran said, shrugging. I nodded as I get ready to find Sanzu and Mikey
"Okay then, let's all meet up later before the fireworks yeah?" I said, looking back as Rindo and Ran gave me a thumbs up.
And with that, I head off to find Mikey and Sanzu. I stroll around the festival, seeing each and every appetizing food that caught my eyes.
My mouth starts to water as the delicious smell of takoyaki filled my nostrils. I stopped to look at the stall when someone suddenly stood next to me
"2 please" The person next to me said. I turn my head to find Mikey drooling and Sanzu staring back at me
"Dressed up nicely today huh?" Sanzu said, biting his lip as Mikey also turn to my direction with a smile he couldn't contain
"Well yeah, it's the firework festival in the summer" I said, shrugging my shoulders as I look away from Sanzu's prying eyes
"I love it" Sanzu said, raising his eyebrows with interest as he leaned closer to my face
I rolled my eyes as the food vendor handed Mikey and Sanzu the takoyaki's. We went to sit on the sidewalk as I sit next to Mikey
"Ahh?" Mikey suddenly said, making me turn to him. Mikey was holding up a takoyaki, waiting for me to open up.
I opened my mouth as Mikey stuffed it in my mouth. And just like that, my cravings were satisfied.
"Here, you can have mine" Sanzu said, handing me his plate of takoyaki's. I smile and took it from him, Sanzu suddenly blush at my smile.
After we finished eating, I went to look for Kakucho and Kokonoi. Not forgetting to tell Mikey and Sanzu to meet up together when the fireworks started
I look at the clock and figured there's still time to look for them. However I stopped in track when I spotted a food stall that sells dango.
I went closer to it and proceed to buy one. As I waited, someone next to me went and buy two of them. I didn't bother when suddenly he starts talking
"You like dango's too?" He ask, without both of us turning to each other. I hummed and about to answer
"Yeah, I like to eat them when I was a kid" I said, this time turning my head to him with a smile as we both look at each other at the same time
I was instantly speechless as he also stop smiling. His eyes were closed and his hair is in the color of orange, I was about to say something when his brother came up from behind him
"What's wrong?" His brother ask before freezing on the spot as his eyes look at me. His brother had the exact same hairstyle but different color, it was blue
'The Kawata Twins! Nahoya and Souta? Or was it Souya?' I quickly thought, but before I could say anything Smiley laugh and threw his arms around me
"(Y/n)! It's been so long" Smiley said in excitement as he suddenly jump to hug me. I froze for a moment before returning the hug
"Wow, it's really you!" Smiley said, jumping in excitement and joy as he held my hand.
Meanwhile, Angry looks like he was about to cry any minute now. I awkwardly laugh, not knowing how to react as the dangos I ordered were handed to me.
Soon, the three of us were suddenly walking around together. I feel lightheaded, wondering how many times I've encountered an old acquaintance in my years in Bonten
Smiley and Angry were chit chatting about their ramen shop and about how Pah chin now has a wife, I couldn't help but feel like a proud mother.
However as they ask about my disappearance, I remained adamant about it.
"Huh? At least tell us the reason behind it" Angry said, stubbornly trying to get an answer out of me
"Well..." As I was about to dodge the question, I spotted the Haitani brothers from afar, coming this way
"Shit, Angry might beat the shit out of their asses again" I muttered, half panicking as the thought surrounded my head
Although I couldn't help but laugh at the thought of Angry beating them. The Kawata twins stared at me in a weird face as I laugh quietly
"Let's go that way" I said, about to walk to another direction to avoid a conflict. However, I realized it was too late when I heard Ran called my name
"Oyy, (Y/n)!" Ran called as he and Rindo came closer. Smiley ask who they were, staring at me with a questionable expression
'Well, shit' I thought as Rindo was about to grab my wrist when Smiley suddenly slap his hand away
"My Queen? Who the fuck are they?" Ran asked, looking at the Kawata twins in disgust as Smiley cracks his knuckles
"Huh?! Who are we? Who the hell are you?!" Smiley ask, his grin getting bigger by the second as Angry click his tongue
"Hey...I remember you" Rindo said, pointing at Angry as he smirk playfully. Angry's expression remain upset
"You're that crybaby, right?" Rindo said, laughing as Ran gave them a familiar look. Smiley laugh along while Angry was ready to rip them to shreds
"HAHAHA, he is also the person who beat your stuck up ass" Smiley said, already realizing who they were. I just stood there, somehow feeling entertained.
"The Haitanis....do you want to get beaten up again?" Angry threatened as Rindo and Ran got closer, looking down on them and seemingly trying to intimidate them.
My existence was completely ignored as both the Haitanis and the Kawata twins bicker at each other. I sigh and was about to leave them quietly when someone grabs my waist and swiftly pulled me between the trees and bushes.
Someone's finger suddenly shush my lip, it took me a good five seconds to see who it was.
"I'm happy you wore it" Kokonoi said, smiling at me as I tuck my hair behind my ear. I saw Kokonoi wore a Yukata that match his hair, seems like he's the only one who wears a yukata.
"Follow me" Kokonoi said, waiting for me to take his outstretched hand. I put my hand in his and followed Kokonoi behind as we go in a bit deeper between the trees
"I know I said this a lot but...I'm gonna say it again" Kokonoi said as we walk in a slower pace
"You look beautiful" Kokonoi turn his head to look into my eyes with an affectionate look. I smile and thanked him, giggling quietly.
I remove some leaves on my shoulder as Kokonoi finally came to a stop. I look straight to see a beautiful lake shining beneath the moonlight with Kakucho sitting on the grass
"Ta-daaa!" Kokonoi said, lips smiling with joy as we came to sit beside Kakucho. I greeted Kakucho with a smile in which he blushed in return
"The fireworks are about to start" Kakucho said, looking at his watch. I smile, touching the lake with my fingertip.
"Aren't we supposed to watch it from there?" I ask Kakucho and Kokonoi, pointing at the hill where most people were sitting and waiting for the fireworks
"Well yeah, but here is better" Kokonoi said, sticking his tongue out. I blinked a few times then just shrugged it off
Not long after, Sanzu and Mikey came. We all sat down on the grass, watching as the sky merge with the colorful fireworks.
"Whoops, sorry we're late" Ran spoke up, suddenly appearing behind us. I could feel Kakucho's hand snakes around my waist, pulling me closer
"(Y/n)....let's all stay together, forever" Kakucho whispered in my ear, making sure no one heard it but me
"Yeah..." I said, leaning my head on Kakucho's shoulder, feeling the jealousy stares of others.
"Haha, how about we focus on the beautiful fireworks eh?" Kokonoi said, butting in between me and Kakucho.
I chuckled, looking up at the sky. Instead of the fireworks, my eyes ended up looking straight at the pretty moon
"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" I said, my eyes sparkle at the sight. Getting no response, I turn to look at the others only to find all of them staring at me, a shade of pink colored their cheeks
"It is beautiful...." Mikey said, but his eyes were directed towards me as the others look away in embarrassment
'I love them so much' I smile and stared at the sky once more....
