Vivian's P. O. V:

I finish up in the shower the next morning and hop out. I grab my towel and dry myself before I rash for my undergarments. Today's the day I'm going on that job with Rogue, and we'd arranged to meet at Fairy Tail.

After clipping on my bra, I reach for my red skirt but pause before grabbing my bottom tunic. My gaze lingers on a scar on my right side, where Future Rogue had sliced me with his shadow sword.

Wendy had offered to heal it with her Healing Magic, but I'd refused, saying I didn't mind scars. As I slip on my tunic, my gaze finds the small shadow dragon mate mark Rogue had given me during our heated makeout session last night on the right side of my neck.

I lightly trace it before I finish getting dressed. Rogue had explained when he gave it to me that once I was marked, I could feel his emotions, and vice versa. He'd also told me that a dragon mate is like the dragon version of girlfriend or boyfriend, but that a mate could never betray their lover. And should the mate of a dragon or Dragon Slayer die, it would feel like a piece of that person is being ripped apart.

I run a brush through my light chestnut brown hair before putting it in its signature waterfall ponytail. Since I've already had breakfast, I brush my teeth then head back to my room to grab my bag for the job.

The morning sun beats down on the bustling streets of Magnolia as I head for the guild hall. I enter to find most of my guild mates are absent. Since the Grand Magic Games, we've been getting so many jobs that almost everyone is out on.

I go over to the request board and my eyes find a monster kill job. A large group of monsters is attacking Clover Town. I pluck it off the board and head over to the bar where Mira was cleaning a glass, and Makarov was perched on the countertop, drinking alcohol.

"Good morning, Viv. Going on a job?" The Takeover mage greets.

I nod my head. "Yup! This one! Though I'm going with Rogue as I invited him last night after our date, so I'll be waiting here for him."

"Sure thing," Mira chirps, signing off the request. "You and Rogue are the cutest!" I blush at that.

"By the way, Viv, what's that mark on your neck?" Makarov asks.

"Huh? Oh! It's just my dragon mate mark Rogue gave me last night after our date..." I trail off as my face turns crimson. Mira giggles knowingly as Makarov's own face turns red. I then explain to them how it works and they appear intrigued.

I wait for Rogue to arrive as I sit on the stool and chat with Mira and Gramps. About ten minutes later, Rogue and Frosch enter the guild hall.

"Hey, Viv-chan," Rogue greets, causing me to look up. A wide smile spreads across my face. "Did you pick out a job already?"

"Hey, Rogue-kun! Frosch! And yeah, I did," I reply as I hop off the stool. "I chose a monster kill job. Sounds good?"

"Sure does. Ready to go?"

"You bet! We'll be back later, Mira, Gramps," I tell them.

"Good luck!" The white haired beauty says.

"You'd better protect her on that mission, Rogue," Makarov adds, sounding serious as he takes a swig of alcohol.

"You know I will," Rogue says before we leave the guild hall. "So where's the job?"

"In Clover Town," I say. "We're gonna have to take a train."

"Right..." Rogue trails off as a sickened look appears on his features.

"You ok?" I ask, glancing at him.

"Yeah. It's just..."

My eyes widen in understanding. "Right. I almost forgot you get motion sick too. There's no other way to get to Clover Town, but I'm sure it won't be that bad," I say reassuringly.

"Fro thinks so, too!" Frosch chimes cutely.

"You're... probably right, Viv-chan," Rogue says with a small shaky smile.

🗡🗡🗡

Once the train started moving to Clover Town, Rogue was immediately overcome with motion sickness.

"Are you okay, Rogue-kun?" I ask in concern as he hunches over while clutching his stomach, Frosch sitting beside him.

"I-I'm fine, V-Viv-chan. Really," Ye says, stuttering as he looks up at me. Rogue's cheeks bulge when bile threatens to come up.

I let out a sigh and pat my lap. "Come here, Roguey." He blushes once he realises what I mean but was too overcome with motion sickness to protest. So Rogue perched on the seat next to me and lays down with his head in my lap.

I stroke his silky black hair in an attempt to ease his suffering as we continue to Clover Town, the scene outside blurring.

                        🗡🗡🗡

When the train stops at Clover Town, I tap Rogue's shoulder as I say, "We're here, Roguey."

He seems to have ceased his shaking and moaning since he laid down—at least a little.

Rogue sits up and turns to me, a grateful smile on his lips. "Thanks for that, Viv-chan," Says Rogue.

"So, it helped?" I ask, tilting my head.

"Not entirely, but it helped ease my pain a little," Rogue tells me.

"I'm glad," I say as we stand up. We grab our bags and Frosch follows us off the train. "Ah, good old Clover Town. Haven't been here since the Lullaby incident." I meet Rogue's gaze. A small sweat drop forms on my head. "Don't ask."

"Is that why there are still three mountain tops missing?" Rogue points out. I form another large sweat drop when I follow his gaze. "You guys really did go overboard, huh?"

"Fro thinks so, too!" Frosch chimes.

"Like I said: don't ask. I really don't need a reminder," I say. "My teammates and I were chased out y the townsfolk afterwards. It was horrible!"

"Well, I doubt the same thing will happen again. We need to find those monsters that are attacking the town," Says Rogue.

Just then, there's a roar and we pause to look. I gape at a bunch of monsters swarming the town, some of them even winged.

"There they are!" Frosch calls innocently, pointing ahead.

I send my mate a smirk as I say, "Let's go!"

He smirks back and nods his head once as he replies, "You bet!"

We then take off on the direction of the monsters as we ready our magic, Frosch flying beside Rogue.

                         🗡🗡🗡

"Starburst!" I call out as I plunge my sword through the chest of another monster.

"Shadow Dragon: Waxwing Flash!" Rogue pelts a monster with shadows and it goes flying backwards. We've been fighting these monsters for awhile and there's only a couple left.

As Rogue faces off against one of them, I spot another lunging for Frosch, standing nearby.

I gasp, "Frosch!" Rogue jerks his head around just as he'd finished wiping out the monster in time to see me appear before Frosch, only for the monster to bite my right forearm as I was going to thrust my rapier at it.

"Viv-chan!" Frosch cries worriedly.

I grit my teeth as I struggle to free my arm. The monster wouldn't let go.

"Vivian, I'm coming!" Rogue calls. He's about to run over but I stop him.

"I can handle this! Valkyrie Shield!" My repaired shield appears in my left arm. With a grunt of exertion, I thrust it forward and it slams into the monster's head. It reels back with a cry of pain.

I groan as I lean up in a crouch and grip my bleeding arm. I'm going to need to have Wendy heal it when we get back.

I jerk my head up when the monster gets back up on its feet, screeching in fury. I grip my shield tighter as it raced toward me, getting pounding across the ground.

"Viv-chan!" Frosch calls worriedly, but I still don't budge an inch, my hard gaze glued to the monster.

Just as it nears us, I jolt you my feet and pull my left arm back. With a huge cry of exertion, I let my shield fly right off my arm. It whizzes through the air at high speeds before there's a thunk as my shield connects powerfully with the monster's head.

As if in slow motion, the monster collapses with a high pitched sound of pain as my shield spins back to me. I easily catch it before dropping back to my knee, breathing heavily through the pain in my arm.

I gaze at Rogue who is gaping at me in disbelief. He snaps himself out of his daze and rushes over to me, wort in his crimson orbs.

"Are you alright?" Rogue asks as he crouches beside me, putting a hand on my shoulder.

"I-I'm fine," I reply as Frosch comes up to my other side, putting his paws on my leg tucked beneath me, concern in his big, dark eyes. "It's nothing Wendy's Healing Magic can't fix..."

"You're hurt because you saved Fro," Frosch says.

"Hey, it's o—" I cut myself off when I see a winged monster flying towards us from behind the Cheney, my hazel eyes widening. "Rogue!"

"Huh?" Rogue blinks his eyes a few times and turns his head but too late. The monster was already upon him.

Despite the pain in my arm, I grip my sword tighter and use my enhanced speed to leap for the monster, the movement tossing Rogue's hair and clothes.

"Linear!" I scream, my sword flashing pink as I thrust it at the monster. It plunges into its chest before I fly past it and land on the ground with a soft thud, my clothes and hair swaying from the movement.

Rogue and Frosch stare with wide, stunned eyes as the winged monster hits the ground with a heavy thud. Its wings buzz for a moment before it falls completely still.

I turn my head to glare at it.

"That seems to be the last of them," I say as I sheathe my rapier and my Valkyrie Armor disappears.

"I can't believe you just threw your shield like that," Says Rogue as he and Frosch come over to me.

"I had to do something to protect Frosch."

"You got hurt protecting him," Rogue says, as though still stunned.

"Of course," I say, nodding, as I turn to face the crimson eyed man. "I'd do anything to protect Frosch."

"Thank you for saving me and Rogue, Viv-chan," Frosch chimes, hugging my left leg.

I smile down at him. "Anytime. Ow." I wince at the jolt of pain in my right forearm and hold it against my chest.

His eyes wide with worry, Rogue tells me as he gently grips my uninjured arm, "We need to get you to the hospital. They'll patch up your arm for now."

I nod my head as my lips wobble at the pain. "That sounds good. Then I can get Wendy-chan to heal it when we get back to Fairy Tail."

"You're so reckless," Rogue says with an exasperated sigh as he slides an arm over my shoulders and leads me to the hospital, Frosch walking beside me.

"S-Sorry," I mutter with a sheepish expression.

🗡🗡🗡

Rogue, Frosch and I make it back home in three days, my right arm having been bandages up nicely by one of Clover Town's doctors.

Rogue, Frosch and I make our way through Magnolia as the sun is setting, towards the guild hall. As we near it, loud chatter fills my ears.

"Hey, we're back!" I call, stepping into the guild hall.

"Hey, Viv! Mira told us you were on a job with Rogue. How'd it go?" Lucy greets as she, Natsu, Gray, Wendy, Erza and the Exceeds come over.

They stare with wide eyes as I hold up my bandages up. "Well..." I trail off, a sheepish expression on my features.

"Whoa! What happened to you?" Natsu exclaims.

"A monster bit her when she was protecting Frosch," Rogue tells them, much to my chagrin.

"It's fine. It's just a little bite. No biggie!" I try to say, waving my hand dismissively.

"It's not just "a little bite,"" Rogue says sternly. "The monster nearly pierced your bones."

"Here, Vivian, I'll heal your wound," Offers Wendy, gesturing for me to follow her to the table they were sitting at.

"Thanks, Wendy-chan," I say gratefully, joining her at the table as Rogue goes to report to Makarov for me.

Wendy removes the bandages and immediately sets to work in healing my wound. Meanwhile, Frosch mingles with Happy and Charlele.

"There. How's that?" Wendy asks as she finishes healing me moments later.

I move my arm to test it and say with a grateful smile, "Good as new. Thanks, Wendy-chan!"

She smiles at me as she says, "No problem. You should be more careful next time, though."

Rogue comes over and says to me, "I'd better get back to Sabertooth and report to Sting."

"I'll see you off," I say as I get to my feet. I pause and glance at Wendy. "Wendy, could you use your Troia Spell on Rogue-kun before he goes home?"

"Sure! I'd be happy to," The brown eyed girl agrees, nodding.

"Her Troia spell can temporarily cure motion sickness," I explain to Rogue. Understanding glints in his crimson eyes.

Wendy places her glowing hands over his stomach and heals his motion sickness. When she was done, Wendy pulls her hands away. "That should do it."

"Thank you, Wendy," He says appreciatively.

"I'll see you guys later," I call to my teammates as I hug Rogue's arm and we head to the train station, Frosch calling goodbye to the others as he follows us.

I rest my head on Rogue's shoulder as we walk, feeling content. We reach the train station in a few minutes and the conductor was announcing the train will take off in a minute.

"Thanks for helping me on my job request, Roguey," I say as I stand in front of him.

"Anytime. Thank you saving Frosch," He replies.

"Of course," I murmur, nodding my head.

Rogue leans in and kisses my lips deeply but gently, which I return, wrapping my arms around his neck. We kiss a few more times until the conductor calls for the train again, causing us to break apart.

I then crouch so I could hug Frosch. "See you soon, little guy."

"Fro thinks so too!" He chimes cutely.

I set Frosch on the ground and straighten up. I watch as my mate and his Exceed step onto the train. Then the doors close and it takes off for Rogue's hometown.

Once it has left the station, I turn to go back to the guild hall.
