HIS POV
It's been hours since Y/N ended things and he's been aimlessly wandering around. He felt empty and so alone. Is this how Y/N felt? He paused once he got to his house and looked down at his feet as he held his chest with his hand. The realization that they stood there as he said some hurtful things tore him apart. What was he thinking? He was so focused on not ending up like his parents that he didn't realize he already was like them. He was an awful person.
In an attempt to ignore the incessant thoughts about his relationship, he unknowingly started acting like a jerk. Not that that was an excuse. He stood up straight and looked ahead. He should've spoken to them about how he's been feeling instead of bottling it all inside. He should've paid more attention, worn the matching items and shown them that he loved them. Whatever it took. Now here he was, sad and lonely, feeling the same way he did when his parents would argue. They really messed him up emotionally and he's only just started to figure that out.
"Hey there!" His neighbour called out to him, interrupting his self loathing. "Make sure to double check the contents of your bins. Don't want a mix up like last time to happen again." They we're referring to the time he accidentally threw out glass in the green bin when it should've been in the blue.
He nodded, his lips tight. "Thanks for the reminder!"
He walked to the bins and lifted the lid to look inside. Everything looked to be in order except a piece of white fabric sticking out underneath the bag. He lifted and pulled on it, revealing two folded shirts. That was weird. Had somebody just randomly dropped this in? They looked brand new and the tags were still on.
He held up the two shirts and his heart sank even deeper once he realized they were matching. Y/N must've thrown them out after they heard him talking all that shit. He closed the lid and walked into his house, making a beeline towards the laundry room. He angrily ripped the tags off and threw the shirts in the washer and pressed the button.
Once it was turned on, he fell down to his knees letting the sound of the machine drown out his tears. Did he even deserve to cry?
