EPISODE FOUR, SEASON FIVE
Theo, Avery and Malia sat on seats in beacon hills hospital while Stiles and Kira were stood up but they were all waiting on the same news, if Lydia was going to be okay
"Stiles" Avery lifted up her head once she heard Melissa's voice
"How bad is it?" Stiles asked turning to the McCall while Avery lifted herself up from the chair ignoring the pain she felt from her bruises
"Could've been worse, Theo good going on that tourniquet, you probably saved her life" Melissa answered which made Avery glance towards Theo who was already looking at her so she sent him a small smile before turning back towards the conversation
"Alright she's about to go into surgery so it's gonna be a while, any other supernatural details that I need to know about or do we just stitch her up and hope for the best?" Melissa asked glancing around at everyone
"It was the tail" Avery whispered staring off into space which earned everyone's eyes on her but she didn't even take a short glance at anyone since she was trying to get her mind to stop worrying about her best friend but was failing since her mind would go straight back to it and come up with a lot of what ifs
"Yeah, Tracy cut her with the tail, if that makes a difference" Scott agreed
"okay" Melissa nodded before walking towards Lydia's room to start the surgery
"But it wasn't just Tracy, there were the others, the guys in the masks" Malia said but the pack just shared confused looks not really believing her so Malia turned to Avery "A you were there, you saw them right?"
Avery nodded motioning towards her face that had several small cuts along her cheeks and a split lip with dried blood smeared onto her skin from Avery wiping her mouth That was filled with blood "how could I forget? They did this to me, oh and they also did this" Avery muttered before lifting up her shirt to reveal all the bruises scattered across her stomach
Theo's eyes fell down to her stomach and felt anger rise in him but felt his eyes linger on her bare skin longer than the others until she let her shirt fall back down covering it
"They were really strong" Avery added before turning around and sitting back down on the seat she was sitting on before

Everyone had left the hospital except for Avery she was curled up in a ball in the same chair half asleep but trying to stay awake
Melissa had noticed the girl while walking past so she walked up to the girl and patted her shoulder "Avery?"
Avery lifted her head up and that was when Melissa understood why she was still here "It's okay to go home Avery, You don't need to stay here"
Avery shook her head "No, no I want to stay, I wanna stay for Lydia"
Melissa placed a hand on her knee "She's out of surgery and I'm not suppose to because I could get fired but I can let you in to see her but only for a little while" Avery couldn't help the smile that came to her split lips as she got up from her spot where she had been sitting at for hours
"Where is she?"
"Follow me" Melissa said feeling sorry for how long Avery had been sitting there waiting to hear news about Lydia while worrying if Lydia wouldn't make it
Avery followed the McCall into a hospital room and once her eyes landed on Lydia who was sleeping peacefully with the heart monitors beeping it filled Avery with relief knowing that she was gonna be okay so immediately she ran up to the side of the bed and grabbed a hold of Lydia's hand smiling down at the strawberry blonde "your okay" Avery whispered
Melissa sadly smiled at the blonde before leaving her alone with her best friend and going to the front desk to call a certain someone

Avery sat next to Lydia's bed stroking her hand while it's as connected with hers and laying her head on the mattress tired from how late it was but than the door creaked open and Avery just assumed it was Melissa coming to tell her to leave "Melissa can I please stay a little longer" she said as she lifted her head up but once her eyes landed on the person who stood at the doorway she frowned
"Not Melissa" Theo said folding his arms over his chest
Avery glanced back at Lydia before returning her gaze to the Raeken boy "what do you want?"
"Melissa called me and told me that you were still at the hospital so I checked the time and it said that it was four in the morning so I came here to drive you back home" he explained not taking his eyes off if her for a second
"We'll you wasted your time, I'm not going anywhere" Avery said turning to Lydia Making Theo sigh "yeah she said that you would say that so I'm not giving you a choice"
Avery rested her head on Lydia's arm looking up at her "i can't leave her"
Theo frowned before walking towards the girl and sitting down next to her "well then I'm not leaving either"
Avery looked at the boy who was already looking down at her "go home Theo"
"Not unless you go home as well"
"Theo I swear to god I will push you off that chair, go home" Avery said getting annoyed with his presence
"No" he simply said back shaking his head Before asking "why don't you want to leave her?"
Avery sighed "you wanna hear the truth?"
"That would be nice"
And that was when Avery told Theo everything about her sister and how she had died and how she had made a promise to Allison that she would make sure Lydia will be okay she didn't know why she told him but she just did and now seeing how Theo was looking at her with sympathy she regretted it "I'm sorry for your loss"
Avery shook her head "I shouldn't have told you that"
"Than why did you?"
Avery fell into silence before looking back at Theo who hasn't taken his eyes off of her "I don't know"
Theo nodded "I understand what you feel, I had a sister too, her name was Tara she died from exposer"
"I'm sorry for your loss" Avery whispered staring into his green eyes
Theo smiled at her before placing a hand on her knee "it's all good, so how about we leave Lydia to rest and I'll drive you home"
Avery looked down at his hand placement on her knee before looking up at him and immediately there eyes locked and Avery felt her heart flutter as his eyes drifted towards her lips while he placed his other hand against her cheek slightly stroking it before leaning in
Avery didn't know what to do she told herself to not fall for him but all she has done is fall more for him so she couldn't help but lean in too as he moved his hand upwards now going onto her thigh
And just as there lips brushed against each other the door of the hospital room opened and immediately they both split apart "Don't tell me I need to call Stiles to pick you both up now" Melissa asked not noticing what was happening just before she had walked into the room
"No, don't worry we were just leaving anyway" Theo said getting up from his seat and walking towards the door like nothing had happened between the two
Avery was too tired to say anything so she just said goodbye to Melissa and with one final glance back at Lydia she left the room and walked behind Theo as they both walked through the hallways of the hospital in silence until they came to the doors that lead to the outside
They both walked outside and towards Theo's truck and when they got there Theo unlocked it before getting in the drivers seat while Avery got in the passenger seat but as soon as she put on her seatbelt her eyelids felt more heavy and before she knew it she fell into a peaceful sleep that she desperately needed while Theo pulled out of the parking lot and onto the road but when he noticed the goosebumps scattered along her arms he pulled over and reached towards the backseat pulling out a blue blanket and throwing it over Avery's cold body
Before he continued driving he slightly smiled as he moved a piece of blonde hair out of her face and behind her ear "goodnight Pretty Girl"

The next day Avery had woken up at her house not really remembering anything other than her staying at the hospital and Theo coming over to drive her back home but she seemed to have fallen asleep but now Avery was standing by her locker at school when Malia walked up to her "Hey Avery"
Avery turned to see the girl with a smile "Good morning Malia"
"So I know it's early but I want to know what you think of the men in the masks" Malia said leaning on a blue locker
Avery closed her locker and leaned on it letting out a sigh "uh I think there strong that's for sure"
Malia nodded agreeing with her words "yeah, do you think your dad or ancestors dealt with these people or do you think there new?"
Avery fell into silence trying to think "I think there new" Avery answered just in time for the bell to ring so she said goodbye to Malia before walking to AP Biology
She walked through the door and her eyes landed in Theo but she stopped in her tracks when she remembered what had happened last night, how he had leaned in to kiss her but they got interrupted by Melissa
Theo lifted his head up from his book feeling eyes on him and immediately his eyes locked with hers and he couldn't stop the smirk that fell onto his lips
Avery bit her lip before walking up to him and sitting down at the seat "So, You fell asleep in my truck last night" Theo said which surprised Avery since she thought he would say something about the almost kiss that happened between them but she just shrugged "So?"
"You look cute when you sleep" Theo muttered just as the teacher turned towards the students finishing her drawings of DNA, Avery opened her mouth to ask him why he was watching her sleep but got cut off by the teacher
"If 99.9 percent of our DNA sequence is the same as other humans, what could account for the missing percent difference? Theo?"
Theo lifted us head up from his work towards the teacher "um, Nucleotides" he answered making Avery to turn her head towards him "someone's actually listening, good job Raeken"
Theo winked at her before returning his gaze back towards the front
"That's right, yes kira" Ms Finch said noticing the girls hand up high
"Can there be more than one species in the same DNA?" Kira asked and immediately Avery knew what she was actually trying to understand
"No, but there can be one multiple sets of DNA in the sand individual, we call that a Chimera, anyone know where that term comes from?"
"Chimera" Avery whispered to herself which earned Theo to glance at her while she tapped her pen on the table making a small sound but making sure it wasn't too loud to annoy the teacher or other classmates
A girl in the front raised her hand "Sydney?" Ms Finch said pointing at her
"Greek Mythology, it's a lion with a goat coming out of its back and a tail that ends in the head of a snake" Sydney answered confidently
"That's right Sydney, do you want to read us the full Wikipedia page of your phone?" Ms Finch asked making Sydney slowly placed her phone back onto the table
"But that does get us into the next topic mutation, as you know from the reading, DNA is a fragile molecule, isn't it Scott?" Ms Finch said looking down at the boy who had written Chimera down onto his page "or did you miss last night's reading?"
"Kind of"
"Kind of or yes?"
"Mostly yes"
"Well then, thank you for another helpful transition in topic, drop forms, all those now acutely aware that they do not belong in this class, you should sign one out, the rest will be on my desk" she said picking up papers and handing them to two students before placing them on her desk
Everyone started getting up picking up there bags and leaving so Avery got up from her seat and swung her bag over her shoulder but stopping once she saw Scott lock up a drop form and walk out the door
Avery felt guilty for him since she knew how much he has going on
He has to level out school, work and also bring a werewolves that fights off the supernatural with his multiple friends that are mostly supernatural creatures too
She knew how much he wanted to be in this class so it hurt Avery to see him give up and walk out the door

Malia, Stiles and Avery walked up the library stairs and towards kira and Scott who were at a table working
"Did you get in to see Lydia?" Scott asked
"No, tried using my free period but she's still in the ICU, no one outside family is aloud in" stiles answered as they walked up to the table
"We got one thing" Malia said placing the bestiary down onto the table while Avery sat down at a seat in front of kira who smiled at her so she returned the smile
"Anything in here about half Werewolves, half kanimas?" Kira asked moving the book closer to her while Scott looked down at it from beside her "Chimera" Scott said
"Uh what?" Stiles asked confused since he isn't in AP Biology to know what Scott was talking about so Avery spoke "it's a creature made of different animal parts"
Scott nodded agreeing with her "and if Liam found two burial sites, Tracy is not the only one"
Kira looked up at her boyfriend "whose the second chimera?"
"Yeah and why do they bury them?" Stiles added
"Deaton says it's apart of there process" Scott answered
"People in masks" Malia said looking down at the book
Avery looked at everyone's expressions and noticed how they didn't believe Malia or her about them seeing the masked men

Avery was curled up in a ball sleeping peacefully on a beanbag since recently she nor the pack had been getting enough sleep and trying to figure out what was happening with the chimeras just made her more tired and also Stiles since he was sleeping leaning his head on the desk while Malia clicked her pen thinking back towards that night to where the people in the masks had pushed a syringe into Tracy's neck and pushed her up against a wall while Avery tried fighting them off but failed
Malia glanced towards Avery seeing the bruises peeping through her shirt that had rised up slightly and moved her gaze towards her busted lip
Malia felt guilty that she couldn't help Avery and how she couldn't save Tracy and as she moved her gaze towards the pen that continued to get pushed down by Malia's finger making a clicking sound her mind trailed back to the syringe in Tracy's neck
Malia felt like she couldn't be there anymore so she placed the pen down and got up from her seat "Hey, I'm taking off" she said to stiles who was now half asleep so tried to speak but just got muffled as it came out
"Stiles, wake up and go home and make sure you get Avery back home safely, I'll meet you there in a bit" Malia said throwing her bag over her shoulder but all she got in return was Stiles random noises so she turned on her heels and walked away

Avery's phone started ringing which made her eyes flutter open letting out a small yawn noticing that she was still in the library with Stiles who was fast asleep dreaming about whatever he usually dreams about
Avery reached into her jean pocket pulling out her phone reading the contact to be Kira so she answered it placing it next to her ear "hi kira"
"Avery hey, we need you at Sinema, there's a scorpion-werewolve chimera there and we think that he's going to hurt someone tonight" Kira's voice woke Avery up as she got up from the bean bag and threw her bag over her shoulder "Isn't Liam and Mason there?"
"Yeah they are, can you please come?" Kira asked
"Yeah of course, I'm on my way" Avery answered
"Ok see you there" Kira hang up the phone and immediately Avery walked up to Stiles slightly shaking his shoulder "Stiles?"
He groaned letting Avery know that he was awake but obviously hr wasn't fully awake since his eyes were closed "I'm going to Sinema make sure you go home soon and get some sleep in your own bed"
Stiles made a weird sound trying to speak but not working just like what happened with Malia when she left
"Okay then, see you tomorrow" Avery patted his shoulder before running down the stairs and out of the school and got into her car quickly driving away heading towards Sinema she was hoping that Liam or Mason wasn't hurt begging that they were okay but when she gets there she will know for sure if they are okay

Avery parked her car in the parking lot and immediately ran towards the doors making sure she locked the car before pulling the door open and running in with her leather gloves covering her hands
She continued running through the building until she heard grunting and immediately ran into the room seeing the scorpion-werewolf kicking Liam in the chest making him fall over
Avery ran towards Liam helping him back up "are you okay?"
"Yeah, yeah I'm okay, thank you" Liam said holding onto the girls arms as she picked him up
She turned around seeing Kira swinging her katana around at the chimera until he dodged it and swung his foot at her knocking her to the ground making her grunt
Avery knew that was her cue to use her Argent abilities so she ran towards the chimera while he had his back turned away from her
His arm was out threateningly to the side showing off his spikes but Avery just used grabbing onto his arm making sure she doesn't touch the spikes and swinging her body around and wrapping her legs around his head making him spin around while holding onto her back so they both didn't fall to the ground but she swung around on him and once her legs landed back on the ground she pushed making him tumble to the ground
He growled at her while she looked down at him ready to go again and once he got to his feet again he swung at her but she blocked it with her arm and kicked him in between the legs making him fall to his knees in pain so she grabbed his hand and placed a leg over his shoulder before swinging herself down to the ground and wrapping her legs around his neck making sure to squeeze tightly while he tried to get out of her grip but was stuck since every movement he made she squeezed her legs tighter and eventually he fell limp on her arms telling her that he was now unconscious so she untangled herself from him and got up from the ground dusting herself off while the pack looked at her proud and Brett who was on the ground holding into his wound stared at her shocked
But Kira's fox surrounded her as she ran up to the now unconscious boy yelling Japanese as she spun around swinging her katana and once she was in front of him flung her sword down to try stab him but Scott immediately ran up to her and grabbed the katana
She turned to him angered but her aura flashed away leaving everyone shocked and worried fir the girl
"Is everyone okay?" Scott asked looking around which Avery nodded telling him that she was okay
Scott's gaze fell onto the chimera noticing his fingers were moving slightly "can we get him out of here? Liam give me a hand"
Liam ran up to the body and grabbed onto his legs while Scott grabbed his arms but as soon as they lifted him up a spear came swooshing past right by Avery's head and into the chimeras chest making blood splatter onto Avery's and Scott's face
There heads whipped around to see the masked men standing on a higher level of the building looking down at them
"Why did you do that?!" Scott yelled out motioning towards the now dead boy
"His condition was terminal" one of them responded just like they said about Tracy
"What does that mean?" Scott asked but they just turned around starting to walk away "what does that mean?!" Scott raised his voice making one of them turn towards him
"failure"
Sparks flies around and when they died down they were gone "do you believe me now?" Avery asked turning to Scott who turned towards her and slowly nodded

Avery washed away the splatter of blood that was on her face in the sink splashing cool water on it and rubbing it off with a towel after her face was clean she walked out of the bathroom and into the lounge room jumping onto her couch next to where Arrow was sitting and once Avery got comfortable Arrow snuggled her leg happily
But then there was a knock at the door making her groan and turn her head towards Arrow "I wonder who that is"
Avery hit up from the couch and walked to the front door unlocking it and swinging it open revealing Theo so immediately she closed the door on him but before it could fully close Theo grabbed onto it pushing it back open with the help of his werewolf abilities since she was trying to push it closed
"Your not even gonna say hello?" Theo asked placing a hand on the door so it wouldn't shut "nope" Avery answered turning around and walking away back to the living room hoping that Theo would leave but he did the total opposite walking inside "nice place, I mean I've already been in here since I had to carry you inside because you fell asleep in my truck" he said looking around but then Arrow hopped off the couch and snuggled up against him making Theo look down at the cat and smile as he picked her up slightly stroking her but when Avery noticed Arrow in Theo's arms she sprung up from the couch she was sitting on and took Arrow out of Theo's hands "don't touch"
"The cat or you?" Theo smirked at his question seeing Avery stiffen but look up at him "both" she answered spinning on her heels and walking away towards her room and placing Arrow on her bed but eyes trailed behind her making her turn her head to see Theo leaning up against her doorway with his arms folded
"Why are you in my house?" She asked fully turning around too tired to yell at him to get out her house
He walked towards her slowly until they were inches apart making Avery's heart speed up, he brushed a strand of hair out of her face before whispering "I'm not"

Avery jolted up from her bed breathing heavily and then her eyes widened she just had a dream about Theo Raeken and to Avery that was a big No so noticing that the sun was out she got up getting ready for school trying to get her mind off of the situation but every now and then she thought about the way he had moved a piece of her hair out the way making her have butterflies but immediately she would shake her head making them go away as she got ready for school she knew that she was going to see Theo today at school but she just had to ignore his presence but deep down she knew she wouldn't be able to do that for very long since he would either make a comment stat would anger her or make her have butterflies only time would tell And that time would be very soon since she was now saying goodbye to Arrow and walking out the door
