I woke up to a text from Anthony LaRusso, asking how I slept.
That's sort of weird...
"I slept pretty good, how are you?" I responded.
Then, while waiting for a text back, I walked to the kitchen and poured some cereal.
Today's Saturday. After I ate, I checked my phone.
No response.
That's okay, I'll just go shower.
I took a long, warm shower and then blew my hair dry. It was pretty and soft. I let it down.
I checked my phone again for an answer.
Nothing.
Ugh! Okay okay, It's fine. Just distract yourself!
I called Eli and asked if we had training today. He said no.
So, my last resort was Kenny.
I was so nervous to text him, But i did it anyways.
"Hey! Call me when you get the chance."
That's all I said.
It was about 2 minutes later when I got a call from Kenny.
Oh thank god, he doesn't hate me.
I answered.
"Hey Kenny!" I said.
"What's up?" he asked.
"Nothing much. I'm just really bored today. What are you doing?"
"I have training today, but before that, nothing."
"Oh yeah. Speaking of that, I apologize for what Eli did at the drive in. He just.. he had it rough when he was in Cobra Kai and he doesn't want you to end up like he did."
Kenny just sighed.
"Whatever, I'm not leaving."
I just sat there. No response could come to my head.
"I'll talk to you later Kenny." I said.
"Okay. Bye Y/n." he said back.
I hung up and laid on my bed.
I'm so bored.
But, then I got another call.
Anthony LaRusso.
Oh my god. Finally!
I answered almost right away.
"Hey!" he said
"Hi Anthony! What's up?" I answered.
"Not much. Kinda bored today."
"Yeah, same."
"Well, I was thinking.. Y'know, maybe we can.."
He hesitated.
"Y'know, hang out. Maybe go to the local arcade? Or the mall. Or maybe even golfing!"
"That would be great Anthony!" I answered.
I was too excited.
My mood boosted up 10% more than it already was.
Today's gonna be so fun.
"We should definitely go to the arcade." I said.
"Okay, cool! How is 3:30?"
"Great! I'll see you there" I said, with a huge smile on my face, so big you can probably hear it through the phone.
"Cool!" he said back. "See you then."
He hung up.
Oh my god.
I have to start getting ready.
Then I realized.
It's only 12:30.
Whatever, I'll distract myself for a little while.
I played games on my phone, watched tv, and even did homework. But nothing could stop me from checking the time.
Finally, it hit 2:00 PM.
I started to get ready.
I picked a cute outfit, Straightened my hair, and even did some makeup.
Once i was done, I texted my mom to tell her where I was going.
I started walking up to the arcade, and by the time i got there it was 3:24.
I texted Anthony.
"Are you here?" I asked.
He responded right away.
"Yeah, come in."
Oh my god I'm so nervous.
I walked inside, to see him sitting on a bench waiting for me. He was wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt, and his hair was fluffy.
"Heyy" He said, walking up to me with his arms out.
A hug?
"Hi" I said, smiling and hugging back.
"So, what do you wanna do first? I hear that if you get 700 tickets, you can get an ipad." said Anthony.
"I highly doubt that." I said.
We giggled together and starting playing.
We bowled, played Air hockey, zombies, pong, basketball, and other fun games.
He won at most of them.
"You're a total nerd!" I said, laughing.
"No i'm not!" he said back, laughing.
"Oh yeah? Why did you win all the games then?" I asked.
"I just... I come here a lot!" He said.
I just looked at him and giggled.
"Let's go see how many tickets we have." He said.
We had one of the machines count our tickets. It said 2,000 in total.
"Oh my god!" he said, looking at me in shock.
"Nerd." I said, smiling.
We took our receipt and gave it to the cashier.
"The most you can get is an Ipad." he said.
No way.
Me and Ant looked at each other in complete shock.
"We'll take it!" I said.
He handed us the Ipad and we ran out of the arcade. We took a quick walk around town and talked about school, friends, home, karate, and the crazy Ipad we had just won.
"Hey, about karate... Your friends mentioned miyagi do the other day when you guys were.. y'know, making fun of Kenny."
"Oh, uh, yeah.."
"Well I was wondering... You don't take karate, do you? I never see you at the dojo, and I was sort of confused."
"Well, I-" He sighed. "No. I don't. But please don't tell anyone! They all expect me to know it but I don't."
"Why did you lie?"
"I don't want to seem like a total loser. I mean, my dad is the sensei. He was an all valley champ! Him compared to me.. I'm nothing."
"No, Ant, don't say that. You're great. Maybe it's time you take karate. I could show you some things someday."
We both grinned at each other.
Next thing I know, our faces only have a little bit of space between them.
I knew what was happening.
I broke the space by putting my hand behind his head and crashing our lips together.
His lips were soft.
Our eyes were closed and it was graceful.
Once the kiss was over, we put a big space between us and opened our eyes.
"I-" tried Anthony.
Then, his dad pulled up.
"That's my ride, I have to go." He said.
"Okay, it was fun." I said, smiling.
He nodded and walked in the car.
Mr. Larusso looked at me, and drove up to me as I tried to start walking home.
"Hey, kid!" he yelled.
I looked over to him.
"Get in, we'll take you home."
"No, you don't have to. It's okay."
"Come on, it's late and I can't have you walking home in the dark."
He was right. It was 8:20. But I'm used to walking home in the dark, so It didn't phase me.
"Thank you." I said.
"It's no problem!"
I got into the back seat of the car.
I saw Anthony texting on his phone.
Once we got to my house, I thanked Mr. Larusso and got out.
I went inside and saw my mom asleep, on the couch, with the tv on.
I turned the tv off and quietly made myself a sandwich. I ate it in my room as I texted Anthony.
We were gushing over our date today and how we kissed.
Today was the best day ever.
