When you land on the floor you notice it is slightly wet, the old green paint along the walls flaking off and graffiti dotting the long hallways. You call out to see if anyone responds but no one does, you explore further into the old factory, still no one replying as you call back. You remember your thermal vision, quickly switching to that to see if you can see anyone, as you look up you see a single person horizontal, thinking it was Nat you rushed towards the stairs.
The stairs also flaking off their paint and covered in dust, as you stepped onto them, they creaked, not feeling fully secure, you held onto the rusted railing as you ran up them. You went to the room where you assumed you saw the body in, it was a big room, with pillars at either side of it, you wondered further down the room not being able to see too much in front of you due to the darkness that filled the warehouse, you called out again, and again there was complete silence. Switching back to your thermal vision you see the body at the end of the room, you quickly make your way over, and when you switch back to your normal vision, you see her, lying there, unconscious.
Quickly you try and wake her up, tapping her on the face and shaking her, you check her pulse and feel her breathe against your hand, but she was not waking up; how did this happen to her? You pick her up from the cold wet floor, as she lay limp in your arms, you went to make your way outside. Until, you heard a phone ring, it sounded like it was coming from Nat. You apologised as you had to set her back down to look for the phone, they were withholding their caller ID, you reluctantly answer,
"hello?"
"Y/n, nice to finally talk" the voice belonged to a man, it was deep, almost robotic,
"What do you want" you asked,
"I want you Miss y/l/n"
You quickly hang up the phone throwing it down, picking Nat up and head for the door, what a fucking creep you thought, and then she starts to violently shake in your arms, the phone ringing from the other end of the room. Realising the two situations were definitely related, you gently set her down, heading back to the phone, you watch it ring, hesitating before finally picking it up,
"If you want her to live, you need to do what I say"
"FINE, just please make her stop" less than a second later Natasha stopped convulsing, allowing you to finally breathe,
"If you turn to the left you will see a desk" the voice from the phone says, you turn and see the old brown desk right where they said it would be, you made your way over, placing your backpack on it,
"Open the top left drawer, and put them on" you try to look around to find the camera he is clearly using to watch you, you open the drawer, looking down and see handcuffs, handcuffs that looked similar to the ones Nick had used on you first were taken to the Avengers, you rolled your eyes, shaking your head as Natasha's words echoed through your head "What are you going to do if you have no powers", and now here you are trying to save her and about to be stripped of your powers,
"You can still choose, your life or hers"
"Fuck" you said taking the handcuffs, not needing much time to figure out who to save, wrapping them around your wrists, before clicking them in place,
"You should also see some pills in the drawer... take them"
"What are they?" you question,
"They will knock you out, can't let you see where you are going" he said,
"How do I know they won't kill me?"
"If we wanted you dead, we would already have killed you" you nodded your head, agreeing that it was a reasonable answer,
"And what happens to Natasha?"
"She'll wake up soon, I'm sure she can find her way back"
"Who are you?"
"You'll find out soon"
You look over to Nat, you saw her arrow necklace dangling from her neck, at least she would be the last thing you are going to see. You unzip your backpack, taking out your jacket and lying it over her, not wanting her to wake up without a jacket, with your handcuffs still on you headed back over to the desk and took the pills. You sat against the desk waiting for them to kick in. You hoped they would take your bag with you, with the suit having a tracker but you doubted they would be that stupid.

Wanda POV
When Tony told me I was coming out with them, I was excited, but I was also scared, scared for Nat and myself, I just hoped that the circumstances weren't going to affect my control. Tony and Bruce flew the jet, while me and Yelena sat in the back, her leg bouncing the whole trip to Russia. I didn't talk to her; I knew nothing I said would comfort her. When we made eye contact, I offered her a gentle smile, she tried to smile back but using adverted her eyes, and clenching her jaw.
The flight from New York to St Petersberg was a little over 2.5 hours, when we arrived at the coordinates, it was a small farm, with a wired fence the whole way round, guess they have a fox problem or something. Yelena got out first, telling us to stay in the jet before following.
"Do you really think that's a good idea?" I said, not sure why she wanted to go alone,
"Please, just stay... I know who lives here" she said, making her way to the house, Tony shrugged his shoulders, as we all waited outside the jet, which was a terrible idea, because it was definitely below freezing.
"Everything alright Yelena?" Bruce asked over comms,
"I'm not sure yet... its very quiet, no one answer the door"
"I'm coming in" Tony said, as he approached the house,
"Melina!" Yelena said over comms, me and Bruce looked at each other before rushing into the house as well, when we got there, there was a woman tied up to a chair in one of the bedrooms, Yelena was taking the duct tape off her mouth, before untying the rest of her,
"Melina, what happened?" Yelena asked taking her into a hug as they both stood up, this is weird for Yelena, I can only assume that she knows this woman very well,
"I don't know, one minute I was having tea with your sister and the next you were shaking me awake"
"You are coming with us" Yelena said, before turning to see the rest of us standing watching,
"Eh, who is this?" Tony asked,
"This is um, Melina... my, our..."
"I'm their mother" she said, as she put an arm around Yelena's shoulders, Yelena smiled looking down at the ground,
"Okay... it's just they never mentioned you" Tony continued,
"Well, I asked them not too" Melina said back,
"It's nice to meet you" I said smiling to Melina, giving Tony daggers as I moved towards the door, he shrugged his shoulders at me before following suit. We asked Melina if she knew who had done this, but she wasn't sure, she didn't see anyone, she was shocked when we told her Nat had been taken, she wouldn't tell us why Nat visited her before going to Steve and Sam, just that it was personal, even Yelena didn't know.
We decided to regroup back in New York and let Fury know what was going on with Natasha, Melina was using her resources to try and find out any information on the way back to New York as well.

Hey, we are on our way back... Russia was a bust. Hope you are keeping out of trouble ;)
I decided to text Y/n to let her know what was going on, I was surprised when she didn't respond, I thought she would be sitting waiting at her phone on news about Nat. I didn't have a good feeling about this at all.

When we arrived back at the Compound, Nick was standing waiting for us along with some other agents. Tony briefed him on everything as we made our way up to the lab, Y/n hadn't shown her face yet, so I decided to go up to her room to see if she was okay.
When I peaked my head through the open door, there was no one there, I turned to walk out, deciding to look for her, I checked the pool room, gym, kitchen, my room and the roof, no sign of her. I made my way back to the lab with everyone, they all looked so busy,
"Not to interrupt or cause stress"
"Why does it feel like you are about to cause stress" Tony sighed, rolling his eyes,
"It's just, I can't find Y/n, she's not here or replying to my texts"
"Great" Tony said, before asking Friday to bring up her phone GPS,
"She's here, she's in the... the garage?" he said looking at the screen again
"Why would she be there" Bruce questioned,
"Friday, why is Y/n in the garage"
"I'm afraid Miss Y/l/n is not, it is her phone that is in the garage..."
"Do we know where she is?"
"Well, she was brought off campus by an agent earlier this evening, I believe Peter was the last person to see her"
"Bruce get the kid on the phone"
"Friday, can we track Y/n's suit"
"On it" Bruce let everyone know Peter was on his way down to the lab,
"Mr. Stark, is this about Y/n?"
"What do you know"
"Just that she needed to clear he head, but that was a while ago, I also caught her coming out of Natasha's room, and she shouted at me, then she went off with some agent guy, I was going to follow her, but she needed space and told me someone had to stay and watch this place"
"Kid... breathe" Peter talks a deep breath, trying to calm himself,
"Friday... anything on the suit"
"Yes, it looks like she is on her way back" Friday brings us the tracker, showing that you were approaching the front gate, everyone visibly relaxed a bit, and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in, finally feeling slightly better that Y/n wasn't gone too. It didn't take long for everyone's focused to change on finding Nat,
"Alright should we take a break?" Tony said,
"What do you mean 'take a break'?" Yelena said back in disgust,
"That is my sister out there and you just want to stop"
"No Yelena, I want to get more coffee and eat" Tony said,
"No, we need to keep going"
"Arguing already?" everyone's heads snapped to the door, wide eyed as they saw Natasha standing in the doorway, she was wet, and wearing Y/n's jacket and backpack,
"How are you here?" I said looking at her,
"You might not like what I'm about to say" she said, our eye contact breaking as Yelena wrapped her in her arms, Melina smiled at the interaction but didn't join.
Natasha POV
I slowly opened my eyes, the last thing I remember was being at Melina's, fuck my head hurts. I took in my surroundings, it looked like I was in a warehouse, I had a jacket over me and I felt damp, I took in my surroundings, and slowly got onto my feet. When I put on the jacket, I knew who's it was, because it smelt of her perfume... I saw her backpack sitting on the desk, I made my way over and there was nothing, no note, just a phone that was dead. I assumed I was back in New York given that I had Y/n's jacket, but the last thing I remember was drinking tea in Melina's, I shook my head and trying to make sense of what happened.
I gathered Y/n's stuff along with the phone and made my way outside the building, I looked and saw it was an abandoned Wonder Bread factory... at least I'm in America, as I tried to find my direction, I started seeing more familiar signs, and I knew I was in New York, not too far away from the compound, deciding to make my way back, I just hope Y/n is okay... why would she leave me in the factory?
Once I finally made it back to the compound, I made my way up to the labs, I heard Yelena and Tony arguing and decided to interrupt.
"How are you here?" Wanda asked confused, if not slightly rude,
"You might not like what I'm about to say" we were both interrupted by Yelena wrapping me in her arms, I looked and saw Melina smiling at us both.
"What happened?" she asked as she sat me down, Tony handed me a hot coffee,
"You need to get out of those wet clothes" Melina said,
"No, she needs to tell us what happened to Y/n" Wanda said stepping towards me,
"Easy witch" Yelena said standing in front of me,
"Okay, this is not helping anyone" Bruce said,
"Nat can you remember anything?" he added, I told them that all I remember is being at Melina's and then waking up in the abandoned factory, at that they asked where it was and they pulled up the location, I said all I found was her jacket, bag and this dead phone, Tony took it from me and asked Friday to extract anything they could from it, he also pulled up Y/n's phone and was able to see her last text messages.
"I'm going to see if I can find anything in her room" I said getting up from the rest, I was worried, and mostly needed a moment to myself, I didn't want them to see me, worry about me instead of focusing on finding Y/n. I made my way up to her room, shaking my head at the thought that she had gotten herself into some sort of trouble. I hesitated before walking into her room, hoping to see her on the bed, disappointing myself when she wasn't. I didn't think I could care for someone so quickly, but this girl was different, I trusted her so fast, and now she's gone.
I saw the note sitting on her desk, it had the address of where I woke up... it confused me more, did she know where I was? Did she have something to do with me being there? No... I'm not going to let myself go down that route, I trust Y/n. I came back the team, who had just brought up the last texts from Y/n's phone, I let them know that I found a note on the desk of the address, Tony made a comment about her having her head screwed on.
I saw the address again, and then we all saw the photo of me passed out on the ground,
"Is that really how I look from that angle?" I said turning my head to the right to get a better look,
"Is that really important right now?" Wanda said giving me daggers,
"I was just trying to lighten the mood" I said sitting back down, I smiled when I saw how protective she was over me, now knowing that she is missing and it was to save me, she was stupid but brave.
"Mr. Stark, I have gained access to the phone that Miss Romanoff brought back..."
"...it appears that the phone was recording the whole time" Friday then started to play back the recording, we heard the robotic male voice from the phone call,
"Friday, can you try to find the real voice"
"Yes Mr. Stark" Friday then continued to play the recording, we heard the voice on the other end of the phone say they wanted Y/n, and then a bang, assuming she threw the phone, a couple of moments went by, and then we heard the voice give the ultimatum of whether or not she would choose me or herself, fuck, she said, she choose me, it made me tear up, that she sacrificed herself for me, Yelena put a comforting arm around my shoulder, and told me we would find her. I hoped she was right.
After the recording we heard the shuffling of people, and a voice saying to leave me, that they were the orders, it belonged to a man and none of the team recognised it. We all just looked at each other, before Friday took us all out of our heads...
"Mr Stark, I believe I have reversed the voice changer on the recording" Friday then played the voice, and my face went white, me, Yelena and Melina all looked at each other,
"Who is Madame B?" Wanda said from across the room, her eyes glowing red,
"She is dead" Yelena said, looking back to me and Melina,
"She was never confirmed to be dead" Melina said,
"Everyone assumed she was onboard the red room" she explained,
"What does she look like?" Wanda said, Friday went through old red room records, finding her file,
"Oh my god" Wanda said putting her hand over her face,
"What?" Tony said,
"It's... it's her... the woman from Y/n's childhood, she ran the facility"
Y/n POV
You were jolted awake by your entire body tensing up, it was at that moment that you felt the freezing cold water running all over your skin, you take big deep breaths to calm yourself down, suddenly remembering your situation as your struggle to lift your hands, when you look down they are tied up and you try to free yourself to no avail, the restraints getting tighter. You see the masked men beside you, and you focus on trying to set yourself on fire, but with no luck... you look down at the restraints against your hands and feet, they were the same Nick used the first day you met him, FUCK!
You still tried to free yourself,
"Your going to hurt yourself Miss Y/l/n" a woman's voice said from somewhere, you looked up and saw speakers in the room,
"Show yourself" you said back,
"In due time" she said back, you thought the voice sounded familiar, but you couldn't remember where from.
"Why are you keeping me here" you said, struggling against the restraints again,
"Did you know S.H.I.E.L.D. had a file on you... before your whole situation within the Avengers?"
"What do you mean?" you asked back confused,
"They were aware of your power before you were..."
"...that you were placed in the hands of an agent, that then pretended to be your father"
"You mean my dad isn't my dad?" you said, pretending to be shocked,
"Boring, knew that" you said in a dull tone, did everyone know before you?
"Next!" you said, trying to get a raise out of the woman,
"You have more power than you know Y/n, and we... well we want to get you to your full potential" she said,
"I'm going to come in now" your heart started to race, you didn't know why, you felt so cold, feeling the anxiety in your chest as you heard footsteps approaching the door, you saw the handle on the door go down, and watched as she entered the room, she whispered something in one of the guards ears before making her way over to you, and that's when you realised where you knew her voice from, the memories that Wanda showed you, she was the one that took you.
She had blonde hair and blue steely eyes, and she put her hands on the edge of your chair and lowered her face so close to your own you could feel her breath on your skin, she made eye contact before she grabbed your face in between her hand moving it from left to right to get a look from every angle,
"Hmmm... so you're the one Natasha has been occupying her time with..."
"... it really is a small world" she added, taking a seat in front of you,
"What do you mean" you asked her,
"It was surprising to me that the first set of tests didn't work..."
"... but then we found out through a contact that you unlocked your power after your first heartbreak" confirming it was the woman that took you, and experimented on you in your childhood, you assumed that she was planning on doing the same thing this time,
"Don't think you can mimic emotional pain" you said bluntly, trying to not let her see that you feared the situation you were in,
"But we can try" she smirked.
