Title: You Betrayed Her (and i know that you'll never feEL sorry)
"(Y/n), look away." Raph muttered as I sighed and turned my gaze away from where I'd been watching Donnie and April at the kitchen table, telling corny jokes to each other as he helped the redhead with her chemistry homework. I wanted that. I wanted Donnie to be so desperate to hang out with me that he'd be willing to help me with work- even if that was the only way he'd get to hang out with me.
"Am I stupid, Raph? For still wanting a guy who hasn't looked at me since April? I mean, he has known her longer- am I just being a hopeless romantic?" He stopped from where he'd been mashing at a controller to turn his bright green eyes towards me. I kept my gaze down, looking at my fingers as I weaved them together nervously.
"What do you mean? Donnie? You think you're being stupid 'cause of Donnie? (Y/n)-" I cut him off with a a half-laugh as I stood up and then began walking away, waving at him. I sent a grin at April and Donnie, trying to ignore my burning heart as she smacked him gently as he said something with a goofy movement of his hand.
"I'm gonna head home, Raph. I'll call you later."
"Wait, at least let me walk you home! It's way too dark outside for you to be going alone." Raph hurriedly stood and raced after me, not noticing Donnie, who stared after us with narrowed eyes, even as he continued talking to April.
"Lame-o- Leo?" Raph, hesitating to finish the brutal nickname, changed his mind at the last moment as he made his way into the dojo, looking around for his blue-eyed brother. Leo then leapt out from where he'd been hiding in the tree, tackling his brother to the ground with a warrior cry.
"What are you doing?" Raph asked in a monotone voice, not moving from where Leo was giving himself a high-five above him, a valiant look in his eyes. He then shrugged and stood up, leaning down to offer his brother his hand to help him off the ground.
"I have no idea. Splinter told me to not be so tense all the time- take some time off. So, I've been scaring everybody all day- except Mikey- I can't find him." Suddenly, said brother jumped out from behind the tree and pointed at the two, who stared at him.
"You'll never take me alive!" With a cackle, he threw down a ninja bomb and disappeared.
"I've actually never been more stressed before." Leo muttered before he turned back to Raph with a questioning gaze. "So, what's up?"
"Oh, right. So, (y/n)- I just needed some advice on something." He spoke as he and his brother both sat across from each other on the floor, legs crossed under them. For a second, Raph wondered if Splinter would listen in on them, considering his room was a mere few feet away from them.
He hoped not. That would be embarrassing.
"So, advice. Hit me with it. Give me your leadership advice, oh great one." Raph deadpanned as he crossed his arms and leaned back, leaning against the tree. Leo just stared at him.
"You haven't told me anything yet, Raph." Said brother then felt embarrassed goosebumps run over his body as he quickly retracted his earlier statement and chuckled nervously.
"So- (y/n). She's liked Donnie ever since we first met, but she's upset because Donnie's got his massive crush on April, so she doesn't know what to do." Raph hesitated but decided not to tell Leo the rest of his predicament- you know, the part where Raph also has a massive crush on said person that was also head over heels for his brother.
"Raph, let me ask you something." Leo took a sigh of a breath in and then let it out as he licked his lips and leaned forward with a thoughtful look in his eyes. "So, I understand (y/n)'s problem with Donnie, but, what does that have to do with you? Just curious."
Raph stared at his brother with wide eyes and comically pursed lips as he pushed his fingers against each other.
"Um, she's my best friend?" He ended the sentence on a high note, showing Leo that he was, in fact, lying. Plus, it was obvious from the beginning that Raph wasn't a very good liar. That and Leo knew his brother like the back of his hand- he'd already figured out his problem.
"You like her, don't you?"
I should just tell him, right? I mean, it would be a good way to get my massive crush off my shoulders, and plus- or minus- I'd also be able to know how he feels about me. That was a good thing, right?
It should've been.
Instead, as I was silently hyping myself up, I slowly walked past the dojo, where Leo and Raph were inside, having a heated discussion across from each other on the floor. Upon seeing me, they quieted and turned to me with wide eyes.
"Uh, hi?" Leo sent me a sheepish grin and Raph put a hand up to his face, hiding it. I furrowed my eyebrows and waved, avoiding their awkward gazes as I continued on, making a full circle around the lair before finally walking up to Donnie's lab door.
"Hey, Donnie? Sorry, I just needed to-" I knocked and slowly pushed aside the door, not knowing what to expect as I glanced around the massively dim-lit room.
It certainly wasn't April leaning against Donnie as she kissed him, his eyes still wide open as he stared down at her. I couldn't see her face as her back was towards me, but I could tell that she was melting into his body, probably extremely happy for herself.
I wish I could say the same.
"Oh, hey, (y/n)." Donnie gently pushed April off of him and cleared his throat as he gave me an awkward smile. April turned around and smiled at me with a light red blush over her face.
"Oh, I'm sorry- I didn't know. I would've waited if you needed to ask him something?" April genuinely looked sorry, but not in the, "I'd known that you'd liked him so I did this on purpose" sense. It was the actual, "I didn't know you were in here so I kissed him- sorry if it was awkward" thing.
They didn't know I liked him.
They didn't know.
I couldn't blame them.
Instead, I just pushed a smile onto my face and held my eyes open so I wouldn't cry. "I just came to say bye. I'm leaving and I'll see you two later? And I'm really happy for you, too." They both grinned at me and waved as I turned and began walking out of the room, bumping into Raph on my way out as he'd began walking in.
"Woah- (y/n)?" I'd begun crying as soon as I turned, so he was obviously able to see the tears on my face, a heartbroken look on my face as I shoved past him.
"(Y/n), wait!" He shouted desperately as he turned after me, but not following. Turning around, he froze when he saw Donnie with his arm around April as they looked on worriedly.
"Hey, Raph. What did you do to her?" Donnie joked weakly while April gently slapped his plastron in a manner that told him that what he had just said wasn't appropriate.
"It's not what I did." He left the two confused as he ran out of the room with nothing but pure anger burning through his veins.
I walked down the street with tears still running down my face as I hurriedly made my way to my apartment. After seeing Donnie and April, I had left without telling anyone bye- except the ironically happy couple, and I hadn't even meant to do that. It was an ironic thing of me to say as I hadn't even wanted to say bye to either of them.
Maybe I just needed to take a break from them.
Wiping my tears, I turned down the alley that would take me to my building. I didn't hear the footsteps as someone jumped down behind me. I didn't hear them as they came up behind me. I didn't hear them as they cupped their hand and grabbed me by the neck. I didn't hear them as they shoved their hand over my face.
But, after that, all I heard my own agonizing screams of pain.
"You like her, don't you?" Raph sighed and hung his head, rubbing his face at his brother's knowing words.
"What gave it away?" Leo smirked and shoved his brother's shoulder playfully. Raph chuckled quietly and shook his head.
"Come on, man. You don't put yourself in other people's business unless it involves you in some way, and even then, not unless it's important to you. I mean, you're not even involved in your own business half the time! Plus, you came to me for advice- you're obviously lost and no idea what to do, but now I understand why you didn't go to Donnie."
Raph shook his head and smiled. Leo really was too smart for his own good.
"Okay, fine. I do- love her, I mean." Leo's eyes widened.
"You love her?" Raph's eyes got even wider than Leo's as he stared at his brother with his lips sucked into his mouth.
"Raph- you? You love (y/n)? You really do?" Raph cut Leo off with a punch straight to his gut. Leo groaned and bent over himself, immediately leaning up to throw a punch back at his brother. "What was that for?" He wheezed after as Raph also went down.
They sat together trying to catch their breaths as they held their stomachs, making for a comical picture.
"Why would you hit me?" Leo managed to get out again as he sat up and glared at Raph, who was now coughing slightly.
"I don't know- I panicked." He stressed as Leo gave him an, "are you stupid?" look.
"Why do you hit people when you panic? That's a stupid reflex!"
"It's a great reflex!"
"We're ninja- we don't need a hitting reflex!"
"Says who?"
"Ninja-kind!"
"That's not even a word."
"Says who?"
"Ninja-kind."
They both stopped when they saw someone of the corner of their eyes. They slowly turned in sync and locked eyes with (y/n), who stood in the doorway like a deer in headlights.
Leo acted first and gave (y/n) an awkward smile. "Uh, hi?"
Raph put a hand up to his face and made it obvious he didn't want to be associated with his brother in that moment, who had almost made it painfully obvious that they were just talking about (y/n). After a beat, Leo poked him and Raph put his hand down, turning to the door. (Y/n) was gone.
"Tell her." Leo looked more serious than he'd been the whole time they'd been talking. Raph was dumbfounded.
"What?" Leo sighed and shook his head, putting both hands on his brother's shoulders. Unfortunately as he didn't want to scoot forward, he had just leaned, so he was stabilizing himself on Raph because if he moved anymore, he was going to faceplant.
"About (y/n). You like her? Tell her. We both know that Donnie's been in love for April for as long as we can remember and he's going to stay like that. April is Donnie's person, Raph. That person you never fall out of love with? That's her. (Y/n) doesn't want to believe that, but it's true. You don't know it but you have a chance. So tell her, okay? I promise everything will work itself out."
Raph suddenly jolted and stood, leaving Leo in the position of his hands out in midair, leaning over nothing. After a beat, he fell and faceplanted on the floor, groaning gently.
"Thanks, Leo! Tell anyone and I'll get you." Raph lightly threatened as he turned and ran out of the room, intent on telling the love of his life exactly how he felt about her.
He was going to do it.

Raph had never had the chance to do it.
It had been almost a year since (y/n) had gone missing, and no one knew what to do. Only one thing was for sure- keep Raph away from Donnie.
It had been three months since they'd spoken, and Raph had no intention of changing that number until (y/n) came back. They hadn't even spoken in the way that was actually talking- it more or less was "it had been three months since Donnie and Raph had even been in the same room together." Because that day hadn't been a good one.
Today wasn't on Donnie's side either.
92 days without incident immediately dropped to zero.
Donnie had mistakenly walked into the kitchen to make coffee at the same time Raph was in there eating cereal while reading a magazine.
Sleep deprived, Donnie had muttered a "hey" to his brother, who immediately froze. Poor Don never saw the punch. Raph had aimed straight at his side and then dragged him over to the more open area beside the kitchen. As Donnie stood on his knees, gasping for air, Raph kicked him down and went straight for him, punching anywhere he saw green.
"Raph, stop! Stop!" Mikey had heard the commotion and ran over to see his big brothers struggling on the floor.
"Leo! Leo, help! Please! Dad!" Instantly, Leo and Splinter were at the scene, separating the still-kicking Raph and half-conscious Donnie.
"Raphael, what-" Splinter had begun questioning his son, only to be cut off by that same turtle.
"She loved you! How could you do that?" Leo immediately rushed over to Raph and began muttering to him quietly. Raph quieted to listen, but as soon as Leo had stopped talking, he turned back to Donnie with a vicious look in his eyes.
"(Y/n) was in love with you and you betrayed her! You knew she loved you and you still chose April! She left because of you!" Donnie's face physically broke.
"What?" He whispered as he hung his head and pulled himself out of Mikey's grasp. "She loved me? (Y/n) loved me and she left because of April and I? Wait, that day-" Donnie cut himself off with a sob as he leaned over and buried his face in his hands. "It's my fault. It's my fault."
"Donatello, it is not your fault." Rat wisdom, let's go!
"But it is! If I had known-"
"That is correct, if you had known. But, you didn't. No one could have predicted this outcome, boys. All you can do now if find (y/n) and make it right. Everything." He gave the two middle teens a pointed look and then walked away. "If I hear anymore fighting during my Gossip Girl, you will rotate."
The boys paled at the word.
Rotate was never a good thing. It meant they would switch their favorite things and act like whoever they got for a day down to the way they walked.
The last time they'd rotated, Leo and Donnie and Raph and Mikey had switched. Leo had trashed Donnie's lab with chemicals and set him back years of work and Donnie had "accidentally" deleted half of Leo's recorded Space Heroes episodes.
That was not a good day for Donnie.
Raph and Mikey were less prominent, but it had still ruined Raph's reputation for a while. Raph was forced to joke around and act exactly like Mikey for 24 hours. He'd vowed that he'd never touch another water balloon for the rest of his life.
Mikey on the other hand, had the time of his life.
He could abuse Raph as much as he wanted to- and Raph could only shrink away and whine? For once, Mikey was thankful he was such a whiny baby.
It's like the boys were living in a fever dream.
They all shivered and immediately ran for their weapons.
"Where do we even look?" Leo muttered to himself as he surveyed the city from where he stood on the top of the water tower.
"Let's see. Maybe if you had actually paid attention to her, she would've said something before she left. Oh, I forgot you were too busy sucking April's face to-"
Suddenly, there was a sharp metal thump as a weapon embedded itself into the floor where Donnie and Raph were standing. They looked over to see someone in a mask standing next to Karai, the foot soldiers behind them.
"Donnie, who is that?" Leo asked as they continued watching the new person, who also watched them, tilting their head as their eyes tracked the turtles' movements.
"I don't know, I don't read the Foot news outlet." Donnie muttered back as he pulled the staff from behind him.
Suddenly, everything went to shell.
Karai shouted for the Foot just as the new person leapt from the roof, sword aimed straight at Donnie and Raph.
"Donnie!" Raph blocked the blow meant for his brother and shoved the person back. Donnie took the opportunity to come from the side and roundhouse kick the person straight in the head.
As he did so, the person's mask got knocked off as they stumbled backwards. They rubbed their head and turned back to the boys, breathing heavily.
"(Y/n)?" Raph breathed and she turned her murderous gaze towards him. Before she could move, a Foot member flew by after being wrecked by Mikey, and straight into her. Since she was still disoriented, she couldn't catch her footing and fell backwards- right off the edge of the building.
Raph, without a second thought, threw himself right after her.
He felt the air rush past him as he dove over the edge and straight down, towards (y/n), who was still falling. She was completely limp, not even trying to stop the fall, even though her eyes were open and she was looking straight at him.
He caught the frame of a window and pushed himself down, able to encircle his arms around her waist and roll them so that he was facing the ground.
"Raph-" (y/n) finally began talking as the ground came nearer to them faster and faster. He gently cut her off with a shake of his head.
"It's okay." Before anything else could be said, there was a yanking around Raph's ankle and they stopped falling, a mere few feet from the ground. Whatever it was had saved his life.
He looked down- as they were now upside down- and saw Mikey's nunchaku wrapped around his ankle with his brothers hanging over the edge of the building, looking worriedly at them.
"Are you okay?" Leo shouted down and (y/n) nodded. Then, she shook her head.
"I have a mind-controlling worm inside me. It must've gotten juggled in the fall but we have to get it out before it takes over me again." Raph shook his head and pointed to the ground above them, where a fat insect was squirming on the ground. He threw his sai down and it was stiff.
"You're going to need to get that back." (Y/n) giggled as they began being pulled up by Mikey and Leo as Donnie used the other nunchaku to retrieve Raph's weapon.
"Let me appreciate that I just got you back." He muttered as (y/n) turned to him with a confused look on her face. "(Y/n), why did you leave?" She sighed.
"I was just so heartbroken that I didn't want to be around anyone at the moment. I was kidnapped by Karai, but since I was in mind-control, I had a lot of time to think about what happened and now I'd like to tell you something.
"Raph, lay off the ramen! You weight as much as Rocksteady!" Mikey shrieked, effectively ruining the moment. Or, maybe not.
"It's you- it's always been you. You were there for me, Raph. I didn't see it then but I see it now and it's safe to say that you're my person and you always will be. That is, if you'll let me." Raph was speechless.
The girl he'd loved for years was finally telling him that she felt the same? And he wasn't telling her anything back? Say something you idiot!
He was going to say something, but was cut off by (y/n) kissing him gently, a blush creeping across their faces.
How tall was this building and why were they still being pulled up? Mas rapido, Mikey!
Anyways, they got to the top and Donnie apologized and (y/n) punched him right in his face, but then accepted it, Leo accepted his non-existent reward for best advice ever given, and Mikey stood in the back, confused, as he had no clue what had been happening this entire time.
Truly, a perfect ending.
ik i deleted all my tmnt books, but with good reason. i had no idea where the plot was going and besides, they didn't really make any sense anyways. well, the mikey one did but i wanted to change the title for it so thats different.
