CHAPTER 61
—————

Six months... It's been six months since I was forced to live with these lunatic people. They were slowly getting closer to me. Eventually, I started feeling more comfortable in the mansion, although I still missed the freedom I had in my home back in Seoul. I had Jennie, but she wasn't Jina. I had Heeseung, but he wasn't Mark. I had Juyeon to constantly flirt with me, but he was far cry from Jaemin.

It wasn't perfect, but with time everything seemed to become easier. Dealing with Minhyuk, dealing with my new lifestyle, the fact that my education failed, also living in the same house and yard for months without getting out.

The police was still after me, though it became an old case. Taeyong and Jina weren't giving up on finding me, while Haechan and Sunwoo weren't done covering every track and lead before NCT could find them.

Sighing, I finally turned the TV in my room off and got up from the bed. It was finally time to do the most productive thing I could do and actually leave my room and head to the living room where almost everyone was. A few people sitting on the couches and a few at the mini bar in the kitchen, blabbering about something which of course rose my never ending curiousity.

So I made my way towards Heeseung, feeling the most comfortable with him I sat on the stool beside him at the bar. A glass of whiskey slid in front of me, immediately prepared by one of the few ravenettes- Eunwoo. I thanked him and took a sip in enjoyment.

"When and where is the mission?" From the side of my right eye I took a quick glance of the light brown haired girl. A glass of martini touching her lips, while she kept her grayish blue eyes on the same black haired guy.

"This Friday in Seoul." Like on cue my eyes rose from the whiskey in front of me, sharing a quick glance with Heeseung beside me. His eyes reading the exact thoughts tip-toeing through my mind.

"And who is going?" The girl asked again but only received a shrug from the guy behind the bar.

"No clue, he'll decide that."

I wanted to roll my eyes but didn't, instead I kept on drinking my whiskey acting like I didn't give a damn about the mentioned 'mission' when in fact I haven't been more interested than that in a pretty long while.

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with that information. Somewhere along the way, the thought of meeting them became nothing more than an old desire I forced myself to forget about. Somehow I managed to not think about it, the possibility of ever going back there. I trained myself to feel nothing when it came to that. Thus show nothing when it's mentioned.

"Where is he actually?" Heeseung asked, pulling me back into the conversation when my eyes registered his hand running through his hair in my peripheral vision.

I was curious about that too, but not that curious to ask someone about his whereabouts. Unlike usually he left pretty early in the morning, without saying his 'good morning' to me or giving me that morning kiss he deluded himself that I adored so much.

"God knows. He can die on the way." Glancing behind me I chuckled hearing the red haired male say that. I thought he was one of the most loyal dogs, yet he cursed the old man every chance he got. Wasn't even trying to hide it.

I still didn't like Sunwoo, but unlike the first month when I just got there, we were on better terms. I got to know all of them a lot better. Their reasons, their way of thinking. To say the least we were all quite alike. After a while I could finally see myself hanging out with them more often.

When it came to Sunwoo, he wasn't as bad as he represented himself. He was thoughtful at times and funny, but that man was still on my list with his name underlined in red paint. The satisfaction on his face while he was watching me fall apart after informing me of Minhyuk's letters and messages never managed to slip through my mind when I'd look at his sly smirk.

"Not so nice of you Sunwoo, he's our boss." I heard Juyeon say and I couldn't help but let out a small laugh, recognizing the sarcasm in his voice.

"So considerate of you Juyeon." I added taking a long sip from the glass. My eyes locked on his seductively like I always looked at him before turning back around. He was just fun to flirt with. He was the one that made my stay here feel more interesting.

The said guy approached me, his steps getting louder in my ear until I felt his tall slender body behind me. Grabbing the chair I was sitting as he spun it around as fast as to surprise me until I almost spilled my precious whiskey on him.

"Wanna find out how much more considerate I can get?" He questioned lowly. A raised eyebrow and a smug smirk  showing on his cocky face while his arms were holding tightly onto the sides of the chair.

I knew him well enough at this point. His flirty tactics, the nonexistent meaning behind his expressions and what kind of replay he was expecting.

So I smirked back, my figure freely leaned back in the unstable back supporter of the bar chair and my legs crossed in front of him, making sure they gave him a soft touch exactly where I want- meaning: on his manhood.

"Am I supposed to accept the offer?" I chuckled, keeping my eyes on his mischievous dark ones. This guy never even once failed to entertain me. On days when he wouldn't come home, I was getting genuinely bored.

Seductively chuckling, Juyeon clicked his tongue and leaned in, but still far enough from my face. "I'm sure you wouldn't want to miss it."

I scoffed in front of his face as I put my leg down and straightened up. "Man up and do this kind of shit when he is around, then I'll consider giving you a taste." I faked an eye smile and turned around, facing the bar again and leaving him silent.

"So about this mission...."

"Soji don't walk through that path, you'll be visible for all the cameras on the street." Krystal's voice was muffled in the earpiece. I still heard her, nodding in response although she couldn't see me.

I leaned my back on the thick cemented wall of the huge building. It wasn't like I've lost my skills through all these months spent doing absolutely nothing, but my senses were dulled. I was supposed to get in front of the small local bank without being noticed, but I couldn't concentrate enough to think of all the ways I could sneak in without being seen on a camera or turning the alarm on. So instead I just waited patiently for someone to come and help me.

I haven't been involved in something this dangerous ever since I broke in that mansion with Jaemin last year and that was good 10 months ago. I didn't feel confident in my skills, but this was a side mission that would decide the two people from all the people that were available at the time.

Surprisingly somehow he let me take part in this side mission, I honestly had no hope for this to happen yet here I was. Even if he let me on this one, I didn't have any hope being chosen for the mission in Seoul, but at least for a change I wasn't trapped in the mansion, suffocating and suffering alone.

Having a long sigh escape my mouth I closed my eyes, letting myself get lost in the darkness, I didn't know what I felt for anyone anymore. Jaemin - Boyfriend. Its supposed to be like that. "Acquaintance." Mark - Best friend. "Friend." Jina - Sister. "Best friend." Haechan - Friend. "Complicated." Taeyong - savior. "Just an ex leader."

I groaned, my mind was once again killing me, thinking nonsense. For days it has been listing everyone close to me like that, one by one, all of them were going down or up a level. I wasn't sure what that meant, it was confusing me. Was I tired? Was it how I actually felt? Minhyuk - Enemy. "Safety." Did I want to be saved....

I couldn't keep up with my mind anymore, so instead of letting it be carefree I harshly shook it and my eyes opened. Like on cue the brown haired barbie got to me, her eyes fixated on something, probably a camera. Stopping beside me she put a gun in front of me, making me to give her a confused gaze. "What?" Rolling her eyes towards me she grabbed my right hand and put the gun in it.

"You're unarmed Soji." My mouth formed an 'O' remembering I indeed did not bring a gun with me. I've forgotten how heavy, yet light weapons felt in my hands. The thrilling chills that ran through my body when I thought of using it- on people who deserve it.

"Thanks..." I said lowly and loaded the gun, actually starting to focus on the mission. Keeping my stern eyes on one camera I pointed the gun at it. Thankfully the gun had a silencer on and I of course couldn't help but to shoot the camera, breaking it completely.

Letting out a sigh I wiggled my eyes to the broken camera. "Nicely done princess..." I heard a voice beside me and smirked, throwing a glance over my shoulder. Jennie was already gone and instead of her it was the tall black haired guy I couldn't help but fancy at times. Nodding my head we both chuckled at the same time, before doing the same thing to all the other cameras who were in our way.

And the results were a successful robbery that lasted for hours because of the process of deactivating all those alarms.

Moving my eyes from the night sky above to the person behind me, a rush of chills ran down my spine. I gulped. He was busy talking to the drivers of the vans that were being filled with cash, distracted. I tightened the grip on the gun, I could take him down within a millisecond, his blood could be all over the floor. I would have freed myself and everyone around him.

But I couldn't... I wasn't capable of killing him, not when I was far under his effect, not when I was enjoying being under his roof, yet still scared when he was about to lay even a finger on me or just talk directly to me.

A shaky sigh slipped through my lips, putting the gun in the back of my jeans while keeping my eyes on his, waiting for some kind of comment since it was only me and him inside the vault. Every single penny was in big black bags that were in the back of the van that Eunwoo drove, while I stayed back to check if something was left behind.

Running a hand through my hair I cleared my dry throat, taking steps towards the exit of the huge vault. My eyes landing on his honeyed ones. "Well done kitten." Somehow, his low way of speaking with no single emotion didn't sound as dead as always. "Let's go home now." He placed a hand on top of my head and smirked my way.
