Qiao Qing’s heart dropped.
Mu Jinghang looked over to Gong Yi, “What about my wife?”
Gong Yi rolled his eyes first and said casually, “Didn’t find them.”
Mu Jinghang, “…”
Jun Yexuan grabbed onto Qiao Qing’s hand and comforted her.
He then looked over to his subordinates who had yet to speak, “Continue.”
The rest of his people reported their findings.
As more and more people stated their lack of finding, Qiao Qing’s heart dropped more and more.
When the last person stepped forward, everyone’s gaze was on her.
This person didn’t just bow towards them, he straight up knelt down, “Young master, we looked everywhere outside the Emperor’s Country of Summer. But we didn’t find anyone.”
“The Country of Summer itself… was sealed down by Emperor Yin. Emperor Yin asked you to return home. Or else you are banned from searching within the country.”
His words caused Jun Yexuan’s face to darken.
Qi Yusen frowned deeply.
Mu Jinghang appeared surprised.
As for Luo Chen and the others, who were keeping it lowkey on the side, realized the seriousness of this situation.
Luo Chen was more confused than ever, “What’s wrong with Country of Summer? Who’s Emperor Yin? Why is he interfering with you guys looking for people?”
Though Qiao Qing knew more than them, she never paid much attention to things she was never involved in, so she wasn’t too sure either.
Gong Yi observed the looks on everyone’s faces and a realization hit him. His lips curled up, “I see.”
Luo Chen looked over, “What is it?”
Gong Yi rolled his eyes. “Don’t you know that the Country of Summer is one of the two countries that still operates under one master? Emperor Yin is obviously the leader of that country.”
He paused there then glanced over at Jun Yexuan meaningfully.
“If I am guessing correctly, the daughter of Emperor Yin is the crown princess that once won over the entire country – Princess Yin Changge. As for Jun Yexuan… I believe he is Emperor Yin’s blood-related grandson.”
Jun Yexuan glared at him.
Gong Yi did not fear death and continued to speak to Qiao Qing, “Qingqing, you better think it through. The Country of Summer is extremely discriminatory and has a strict social class. Everyone who is not classified as counts and dukes are seen as commoners. If you go there, his grandpa may discriminate against your identity and your bloodline.”
“What I’ve heard is that when the princess married into the Jun family, Emperor Yin felt like she would be settling and refused to bless the marriage. How about you be with me instead? I promise…”
Before he could finish, Jun Yexuan had grabbed his collar, “Do you want to die?”
Gong Yi turned to look at Leng Yan, “Young master Leng, he wants to fight on your turf. You are not going to do anything about it?”
Jun Yexuan threw him onto the couch, “I will kill you if you speak another word!”
Qi Yusen said, “The Country of Summer is not any better than the Capital Country. How dare he discriminate against anyone!? Plus, everyone knows that the emperor there is simply for show. The Quan family is the people who actually have control.”
“Ever since the country was built, the Emperor has changed again and again. The Quan family will forever be the number one duke. The Emperor is just a figure that they put up there for show. If it weren’t for the fact that we need their help, you think the Qi family would be scared of them?!”
Qi Yusen’s words lifted everyone’s spirits.
Everyone knew that Qi Yusen treated everything calmly. It was rare for him to speak so harshly and act differently from his normal self. It was obvious how much Qiao Qing meant to him.
Luo Chen had only ever lived in a democratic country and therefore, was confused by this conversation.
