(This story is set after Koel track. The party and hence the confession didn't take place and Koel is still in the academy, the lawyers are seeing her divorce proceedings.)
"Bhabhi, maine aapko pehle hi kaha hain, mujhe kisi se shaadi nahi karni !!", said Karan for the umpteenth time. He could really not understand why his sister-in-law was so desperate to get him married.
"Par kyu nahi Karan ?? Ek-na-ek din toh shaadi karni hi hogi, toh abhi hi ladki dhundne mein kya problem hain ??", Barkha, his sister-in law said through the phone.
Before he could reply anything, Faizi, his best friend, said to Barkha, "Actually bhabhi, Karan ki already girlfriend hain. Isliye kisi aur se shaadi nahi karni ise."
'WHAT ?? MERI GIRLFRIEND HAIN AUR MUJHE HI NAHI PATA !!! THIS FAIZI WILL BE DEAD TODAY !!' Karan thought.
"Kya ?? Sach mein Karan ?? Wow that's great !! Tumne pehle kyu nahi bataya ?? Kaun hain voh ?? Academy se hain kya ??", Barkha asked excitedly to Karan and Faizi.
To make matters worse, Faizi said, "Haan Bhabhi, academy se hi hain voh. Uska naam Dr. Monami Mahajan hain."
Karan's eyes went wide at listening HER name. He glared at Faizi. If looks could kill, Faizi would have been dead till now.
"Wow Monami !! Vahi ladki naa jisne Baby aur Gauri ki jaan bachayi thi !? Mai usse as Karan ki girlfriend milna chahungi. Karan, use na apne saath ghar le aana, iss sunday", Barkha said so excitedly that Karan couldn't deny so he just hummed and cut the call.
He turned towards Faizi and gave him his signature glare which made his best friend gulp. He started speaking, "Dekho Karan, mai aur tum dono jaante hain Bhabhi jab tak tumhe kisi ladki ko milne ke liye manwa nahi leti, tab tak haar nahi maanti. Toh hamne socha, ki kyu naa kisi ladki ko tumhari nakli girlfriend bana de !? Isse Bhabhi tumhe jyada bolengi bhi nahi iss issue pe."
"Par Rani Sahiba ka naam kyu liya ?? Tu jaanta hai, voh kabhi iss cheez ke liye nahi maanegi." Karan said angrily.
"Uffo Karan !! Shubh shubh bolo... Agar sahi se explain karenge, toh zaroor manegi voh. Aur to your first question, hamne uska naam isliye bola kyunki voh hamare iss drama ke liye bilkul perfect hain !!"
Karam raised an eyebrow at him, so he elaborated. "Dekho, tumhari bhasha mein bole toh, 3 baatein-
1. Baby aur Bhabhi use pehle se jaante hain toh unhe tumhari aur uski relationship se koi major problem nahi hogi.
2. Voh ladki academy ki honi chahiye jisse uska schedule tight rahega aur Bhabhi use jyada mil nahi payengi. Jitni kam mulaquatein hongi unki , utni hi kam galtiyan hone ke chances rahenge janaab.
3. Aap janab aur Monami tsunami waise bhi ek saath ache lagte ho, toh koi bhi maan lega ki aap dono date kar rahe hain."
Karan's glare didn't soften, instead it increased. He knew Faizi was only saying the partial truth. The real motive of making Monami pretend to be his girlfriend was that then they, i.e., Karan and Monami, would have to spend a whole day with each other, unofficially. Now you'll wonder why !? Well, actually Faizi was one of the biggest shippers of them. Even Karan knew this, thanks to his constant teasing.
"Okay !! Hame pata hain tum ab tak nahi mane ho, par jo hua use ham badal nahi sakte !! Toh hame ab yeh sab bhul ke ispe concentrate karna chahiye ki ham Monami-tsunami ko manaye kaise !!" Faizi said, trying to save himself from Karan's infamous anger.
"Ham kaun ?? Main kuchh nahi kar raha !! Tune yeh sab mess create ki hain, toh theek bhi tu hi karega !!", Karan said going back to his usual 'Khadoos' mode.
"Come on Karan !! Tum apne dost ko aise nahi chhod sakte !! Aur agar aap janab unhe bolenge, toh voh jaldi maan jayengi.", Faizi said a smiling knowingly at the last sentence.
"Kyu ??", asked Karan confused.
Faizi just facepalmed and said, "Tum chhod hi do !! Nahi samjhoge !! Isliye ham kehte hain ki yeh feeling ke maamle mein 0 hain... Bechari Monami- Tsunami !!" He muttered the last part so that Karan won't hear it but to his misfortune, he did.
"Ab yeh emotions aur feelings kaha se aa gayi beech mein ??", Karan asked, his anger long gone now replaced by confusion.
Faizi joined his hands and said bowing, "Tum hame baksh do !!"
Karan rolled his eyes at his best friend's dramatics and said, "Chhodo, back to the topic, kyu naa ham Sanju ko batade jisse voh Monami se baat kare ??"
"Hmm idea bura nahin hain !!", Faizi replied thoughtfully. He continued, "Par kyunki, use TUMHARI girlfriend banna hain, tumhe bhi chalna padega use batane ke liye !!"
"Theeke par kyunki yeh TERA idea tha, tujhe bhi aana hoga !!", Karan compromised at which Faizi agreed.
Next Day (Saturday) – After Drills
Karan and Faizi had told Sanju everything in the morning and after some persuasion, she agreed to come with them to talk to Monami.
So now, our three special agents were walking to the garden where they knew Sid and Monami were sitting (Don't ask me how, just imagine they saw it in CCTV), looking as if they were going on a new mission.
"SID !!", they heard Monami's shout just before they were about to reach. They looked at each other and quickly went towards the sound, ready to take their gun out if needed. But the sight that met them, left them extremely baffled.
Monami was trying to catch Sid who was running in circles with a book in his hand.
"Monu bro !! Don't be so boring !! You are already a doctor !! Aur kitna padhegi ??", Sid said while running and turned backwards to face Monami when he saw all three trainers standing in front of him. He stopped seeing them causing Monami, who was coming from the other direction (the direction in which the trainers were standing but she didn't see them) to collide with him.
She rubbed her forehead and said, "What the hell Sid ?? Meri book vapis de !!", she said snatching back her 'Human Anatomy : Volume 2' from him when she saw he was trying to signal her something. It looked as if he was trying to say someone was behind her.
"Kya bolne ki koshish kar raha hain ?? Aur itna dara hua kyu hain ?? Aesa lag raha hain ki mere pichhe koi bhoot khada hain !! Or, God forbid, voh Khadoos Shergill !! Though I think the latter one is scarier !!", she said chuckling and turned to see the aforementioned 'Khadoos Shergill' standing there with a smirk playing on his lips. She gulped seeing it. 'Aaj toh tu gayi Monami !!' she thought.
"Oy !! Khabardar jo use aaj punishment di yaa data bhi toh !!", Faizi whispered in Karan's ear. Karan gave him an 'explain' look at which he elaborated, "Dekhiye janaab, aaj hame unki help chahiye, unhe hamari nahi !! Toh zara pyaar se baat karni hogi... isliye bhool jaa usne jo kaha kyunki tumhe bhi pata hain voh sach tha !!". Before Karan could say something Faizi turned to Monami and said, "Ham teeno ko aapse kuchh baat karni hain".
At seeing Monami and Sid giving questioning looks to each other he said, "Chinta mat kariye !! Yeh uss cheez ke baare mein nahin hain jiski aap log baat kar rahe the aur hamne 'galti se' sun li.". He smirked at the last line due to which Sid had to bite his lip to control his laughter and Monami throwed an annoyed look at her best buddy.
"Chirkut, tu jaa sakto hain, hame bas je doctorni se baat karni hogo.", Sanjana said.
After a getting an assured look from his best friend, Sid bid her a silent bye and went.
"So, sir aap logo ko kya baat karni thi ??", Monami inquired once Sid left.
The three special agents looked at each other thinking how to tell the news to Monami when Faizi decided to tell her straight forwardly.
"Ham chahte hain ki aap karan ki girlfriend bane." Karan glared at Faizi and was about to say something to clear up, when-
"WHATTTT ??", Monami practically screamed.
"Tum-tum mujhe propose kar rahe ho ??", she asked Karan in disbelief.
It was not like she didn't want to be Karan's girlfriend. She of course, wanted to be. She loved him, after all. But if this was his way of purposing she might have to rethink her decision of loving him.
Seeing that Monami was one step away from taking out her shoe and start beating all three of them, at least him and Faizi, Karan said, "Aesa kuch nahi hain, Rani Sahiba. Faizi 'naatak' shabd bolna bhul gaya !! Aapko bas meri girlfriend hone ka naatak karna hain."
"Oh", Monami sheepishly said and tried her best not to show how disappointed she was by masking it with confusion, "Par kyu ??"
Faizi was again about to say something when Sanjana interrupted him, fearing that Monami would surely kill Karan sirji if Faizi sirji continued his 'love – guru techniques'.
"Ham batate hogo !!", and with that she launched into an explanation which she made as concise as possible.
Monami nodded in understanding and said, "Okay, par main hi kyu ??"
This time also Faizi was about to say something with a teasing smile when Karan beat him to it and said, "Iss sand ki wajah se.", he gestured towards Faizi and continued, "Iske dimaag mein tumhara name aaya, toh bol diya.", he lied fearing that Faizi's stupid reasons will make the matter worse. Why did he even accept this !?
He was about to tell her to forget all this and go from there when Monami excitedly spoke, "I am in !!". Karan and Sanju looked at her surprised while Faizi had a knowing smile on his face !! After all, his ship was finally sailing !! He was about to say something when he was interrupted AGAIN...
Seeing that she was looking too excited, Monami composed herself and said stuttering, "I mean okay !! It's- it's just an act, right !? It doesn't matter...Yeah.. yeah it doesn't matter !! Plus, umm plus, mujhe Bhabhi aur Saumya se phirse milne ka mauka milega, so it's actually great for me !!", she shrugged indifferently to hide the fact that she was internally dancing.
At seeing all three of them giving her weird looks, she changed the subject and said, "Umm so kab jaana hain ??"
"Kal...", Faizi said quickly before anyone could say anything.
At this, immediately Monami's face fell which didn't go unnoticed by anyone.
"Kya hua ?? Tum busy hogi ??", Karan asked.
"Umm sort of, kal Sid ka birthday hain aur har saal Sid ka birthday, main aur voh saath mein manate hain, shaanti se, kyunki vahi iklauta din hain jis din use party karni pasand nahi hoti.", she chuckled at the three special agents' incredulous looks and continued, "Yeah, it's true. Use apna birthday celebrate karna pasand nahi hain, toh ham bas mandir jaate hain aur phir aese hi thoda market ghum lete hain. It's because Sid ki mother ki death child birth ke time ho gayi thi. Voh unhe disrespect nahi karna chahta by indirectly celebrating her death. Mai use har saal accompany karti hun so that voh akela aur sad naa feel kare...."
"Monami-Tsunami, Tum chinta mat karo, voh akela nahi feel karega... Sanju hogi naa uske saath !!", Faizi said smiling widely.
"What really !?", Monami said excitedly, looking at Sanjana with hopeful eyes.
"Of course, haina Sanju ??", Faizi said, that big, amused smile still plastered across his face as he looked at Sanjana, who was looking like a deer caught in headlights.
"Sirji baksh do hame !! Hamaye kaike laane isme ghasit rahe ho ??", Sanjana whispered to Faizi with a horrified expression.
"Sanju, please abhi haan kehdo, ham baad mein sab samjha denge.", Faizi whispered back to Sanju.
Sanjana looked at Monami and Karan who were both looking at her with pleading expressions but for different reasons.
She nodded her head reluctantly at which Monami happily hugged her and said, "Thank you so much Sanju !! Mai Sid ko bata ke aayi !!". Saying this, she left happily.
Sanju turned towards Faizi angrily and crossed her arms in front of her chest with an 'explain' expression at which Faizi gulped.
"O Karan ki kumbh mein bichhdi huyi behen !! Aese mat dekho mujhe !! Hame pehle explain toh karne dijiye mohtarma", at seeing Sanjana's glare harden, Faizi looked towards Karan for help but instead found him sitting there happily watching the drama unfold.
"Faizuddin Siddiqui, mujhse toh help ki umeed hi mat karna !! Tune mujhe iss poore fake girlfriend drama mein fasaya, right !? Ab apne karmo ki saja bhugat !! Sanju, 2-3 punches mere side se bhi laga dena !!", Karan said.
"Hey yeh cheating hain !! Aur Mohtarma, aap hame nahi maar sakti, Ham aapke senior hain !!", Faizi said ready to run if needed.
"Aur mai TUM DONO ka senior hun. So I order you Sanju, iss sand ko jitna maarna hain, maaro !! Aur tu Faizi, tu apne senior hone ka raub nahi jhadega aur chup-chaap punishment lega. Am I clear ??", Karan said trying to maintain a serious face when he was too happy to tease his best friend who more often than not became the bane of his existence.
And then Faizi did something which scarred Karan and Sanju for their whole lives...

Faizi had started singing in his 'super sweet" voice which made Karan and Sanju to cover their ears and scream 'NAHIIIIIIIIIIII'.
"Aaaaaaaaah mujhe itni jaldi nahi marna !!", Karan said, still keeping his hand on his ears, while Sanjana nodded with him and said wide-eyed, "Theek hogo, Sirji, ham kuchh na kar raho, bas aap kabhi gaana mat gaana !!"
Faizi said offended, "Aap log itna over react mat kariye !! Ham itna bhi bura nahi gaate"
At seeing Karan and Sanjana's blank looks he said hesitantly, "Sach mein ?? Itna bura !?", at which they both nodded while Faizi irritatedly rolled his eyes and huffed.
"Okay, enough drama for today !!", Karan said in his usual 'Khadoos' mode, "Ab tu batayega ki tu aaj itna cupid kyu ban raha hain !? Aur voh bhi unke liye jinka koi mel hi nahi hain aur naa hi ho sakta hain ??"
"Koi mel nahin hain ?? Academy mein sab log hamare academy ke main couples, 'MoRan' aur 'SidSa' ki chemistry ke baare mein gossip karte rehte hain aur inn janaab ko lagta hain ki koi mel hi nahi hain ?? Yeh sach mein 'Ulti Khopdi' hi hain !!", Faizi muttered under his breath bitterly.
"Kuchh kaha tune ??", Karan inquired with a raised eyebrow at which Faizi shook his head quickly and to divert the topic, he quickly said, "Umm hamne Sanju ko Sid ke saath jaane ko bola jisse Monami tere saath jaa sake. Simple !!"
"Par main Bhabhi ko bol deta ki voh busy hai isliye kabhi aur milegi.", Karan said suspiciously.
'Par phir hamare dusre couple – SidSa kaise paas aate !?', Faizi thought and said, "Umm hamne-hamne iske baare mein socha hi nahi, hehe... par jo ho gaya, so ho gaya... ab aage kya karna hain, yeh sochte hain !!"
"Par hamara naam kaike lane bola ?? Aap khud hi jaato naa uss chirkut ke saath !!", Sanjana complained.
"Ham nahi jaa sakte the !! Hamne Dodo ko promise kiya hain ki ham use aur Koel ko kal paas ke mele mein le jayenge.", Faizi told her.
"Toh kisi bhi aur jhingur ko bol deto ??", Sanjana pressed.
But this time Faizi knew what to say, "Ham bol toh dete par phir hame use poore fake-girlfriend drama ke baare mein batana padta, kyunki voh puchhta ki Monami kyu nahi jaa sakti Sid ke saath toh Karan, manjoor hain !? Ham bata de !?"
"NO !!", Karan immediately said, "Tu kisi bhi namune ko iske baare mein kuchh nahi batayega !! Mai Monami ko bhi bol dunga ki kisi ko kuchh naa bataye !! Aur Sanju, please kal Siddharth ke saath chali jaa, agar iss sand aur Rani Sahiba ke namune dost ke liye nahin, toh mere liye !!" Sanjana can never deny her mentor's order so now when he was requesting her, she couldn't deny at any cost.
She sighed and said, "Jaisa aap kaho sirji !!"
Meanwhile,
Monami happily went to Sid's room and saw him listening songs on his headphone. She snatched it and screamed excitedly, "SID BRO !! I HAVE SOME BREAKING NEWS !!"
"OMG Monu bro !! Calm down...", he said signing her to calm down and made her sit on his bed while he too sat down beside her and asked, "Kya hua ?? Did Dole-shole bro proposed you or something ??"
"Sort of !!", said Monami dreamily, going to her lala land- sorry Karan land.
Sid, who was clearly expecting a 'no' and maybe even a 'Shut up Sid !!', was shocked by this. His eyes went as wide as saucers and he opened his mouth to say something but no words came out. He just moved his mouth soundlessly and tried to convey something incoherent with his hands which finally broke our Monu's trance.
"I-I mean, not really !!", Monami finally tried to say something, "Usne mujhe sach mein propose nahi kiya, usne mujhe bas uski girlfriend banna ka naatak karne ko kaha hain !!", with that said, she explained the whole conversation that had happened between her and the trainers.
By the end, Sid was smiling widely, "Oh toh tu abhi se hi apne in-laws se milne jaa rahi hain !? Nice going, bro !!", he said trying to sound genuinely happy for his best friend but Monami could tell that something was amiss.
"Kya hua bro ??", Monami asked him worried. Did he not want her to go !?
Sid stood up from the bed and went towards the window, his back facing Monami. "No bro !! It's nothing like that... I am really very happy for you !! It's just that tujhe kal hi jaana hain...", he trailed off leaving the sentence incomplete but Monami didn't need to hear everything word-to-word to understand what he was trying to say.
She also stood up and hugged him from behind. "Don't worry Sid !! Main bhooli nahin hu kal kya hain. Kabhi nahi, bro !! If you want, main Karan ko keh dungi ki main kisi aur din jaaungi.", she made him face her and continued, "Tu meri life ka sabse important person tha, hain aur hamesha rahega. No matter mere life mein koi bhi new aaye, tu meri life ki top-priority rahega always, just like I know, I will remain yours."
They both smiled at each other. It was very rare that they had such sweet heart-to-heart talks. After all, why would they have !? They didn't need words to tell that the other one meant to them. Their actions were enough.
"Mujhe nahin lagta !! I am sure, one day tu mujhe Gappu se replace kar degi !! Haaye meri kismat !!", Sid said dramatically, trying to break the serious moment and it worked as both started laughing.
"Do baatein !!", Monami said, in a poor imitation of Karan, after they had stopped laughing, "Pehli – That joke was really, really bad, bro !!" Sid rolled his eyes chuckling and said, "aur dusri ??"
"Dusri – Maine, actually maine nahi, Faizi sir ne but that's the same thing, Sanjana ko mana liya hain ki voh kal tere saath rahe jisse tu akela naa feel kare", Monami told.
"Monu please don't joke !! Voh Ms. Todphod mere saath aane ke liye kabhi nahi manengi !!", Sid said remembering how much she seemed to hate him. (Note – 'seemed' 😉)
"Bro !! I am not kidding... voh really maan gayi hain !!", Monami said.
"Really !?", Sid asked not totally believing her.
"Yup really !!", Monami said happily seeing his reaction but then to tease him, she continued, "But agar tu nahi chahta ki voh aaye, then don't worry !! Main use mana kar dungi, aur uske jagah main khud aa jaungi."
Sid quickly said, "No !!", at seeing Monami raising her eyebrows teasingly, he continued, "Yeah yeah... jitna chidhana hain, chidha le, yaad rakhna, mera time bhi aayega !!"
"But seriously bro !!", Monami said after controlling her chuckles, "I know tera aur Sanjana ka best equation nahi hain, so tu uske saath jaa sakta hain naa kal !?"
"Yeah Monu, don't worry about me !! Main jaanta hun tu Karan Sir ke saath jaana chahti hain... And for once, think about yourself, bro !! I am telling you... tu use kal apni feelings bata dena !!", Sid said trying to convince her.
"Yeah bata dun so that he rejects me ??", Monami deadpanned.
Sid had a smirking face and said, "Really Monu !? But, I think he won't as he has definitely started liking you !!"
Monami just rolled her eyes and said, "No Sid !! I am sure voh mujhe like nahi karta !!"
"Oh really !? Then usne tujhe hi kyu apni girlfriend banne ko bola !?? Ohh sorry sorry !! 'Fake' girlfriend", he said while air quoting at the last sentence, "Yaa yaa I know idea Faizi sir ka tha", he continued when he saw Monami was about to say something, "but agar use tere saath time nahi spend karna tha toh voh maana hi kyu ??" He wiggled his eyebrows, smirking.
Monami smiled and started thinking about it but shook her head furiously and said, "No Sid !! I am not falling in your talks again... Mai jaanti hun he doesn't like me !! I can even bet Gappu that he is definitely not into me !! I am sure voh bas Bhabhi ko bura na lage, isliye maan gaya hoga..."
Saying so, she went and sat on the bed, folding her arms sadly while Sid facepalmed and to convince her, went towards her.
"Monu bro, listen to me !! Let's imagine ki agar tune use bol diya aur voh maan gaya, toh kya hoga, maybe that will motivate you !!", he held her shoulders and made her stand. He then steered her towards the mirror and both stood seeing their reflection while Sid continued, "Mirror mein dekh aur carefully imagine kar dole-shole, I mean Karan bro, ko meri jagah. Soch, tu aur voh, saath mein khade hue, side-by-side, in a garden, full of lush, green leaves and flowers, butterflies fluttering here-and-there, aur tum dono paas aate ho, paas-paas-aur paas- aur"
"Aurrrrr !?", Monami said, lost in a daze, eager for him to continue .
"Aur phir-", Sid again paused to tease Monu.
But this time before Monami could say anything, a third voice said, "Phir !?"
Sid turned frustrated to see who interrupted them, "Who is- AAAAAAAAAA" he shouted seeing it was Karan who was standing at the door. How much had he listened !?
Sid's scream broke Monami's trance and she also turned around to see Karan, "AAAAAAAAAA", she too shouted. Sid and Monami looked at each other horrified and quickly scrambled away from each other, forgetting the fact that Karan had already seen them.
Monami quickly sat on the bed and took the headphones whereas Sid started arranging the already arranged shelf while whistling to himself. Karan raised his eyebrow at their antics and asked, "Yeh kya hain ??"
"A room !!", Sid quickly answered pointing towards the walls and ceiling.
"Yeah Sid aur Bala ka room !!", Monami said awkwardly trying to read Karan's expressions to know what all he had heard.
"Really !? I thought it's an auditorium.", Karan replied sarcastically.
"Umm kya-kya suna tumne ??", Monami asked, scared.
"Kuchh nahi, bas tum dono ki ek hi shabd pe atki padi gaadi...", Karan said.
Monami and Sid sighed in relief causing Karan to ask, "Kyu ?? Aesi kya baat kar rahe the tum dono ?? I hope it was not about me!"
"No, no, of course, not !!", Monami said shaking her head.
Seeing Karan still not convinced, Sid said, "Uhh, you both talk !! I will just go inge-punge...", and was about to go from there but Karan pushed him back and said, "Room kiska hain !? Tumhara yaa Monami ka ??"
"Yeah so, Monu and you will go inge-punge !! Byeeeee !!", saying so he dragged Monami out and closed the door on her face along with Karan's, who was already outside, before either of them can say anything.
"Yeh aesa pehle se hi tha yaa academy mein aane ke baad aesa ban gaya ??", Karan asked bemused.
"Pehle se hi !!", Monu muttered but he heard.
"Oh so you finally admit ki tumhara best friend abnormal hain !?", he asked amused at which Monami looked at him like a deer caught in headlights. "No !!", she said nodding in yes. "No, I mean yes", she corrected but this time shaking her head in no. "I-I mean yes, but no, not totally !! Actually no, of course not !!" Seeing her fumbling, Karan said amused, "Relax Rani Sahiba !! Mai toh bas mazaak kar raha tha..."
"Mazaak !? Really ?? Wow, that means nariyal finally toot gaya !!", Monami exclaimed.
"What !? Nariyal !? Ab toh main sure hun, tum bolne se pehle kya, bolne ke baad bhi nahi sochti ho !!", Karan said confused.
Before Monami could say anything Karan continued, "Anyways, main bas yeh bolne aaya tha ki iss sab ke baare mein kisi bhi aur ko pata nahi chalna chahiye. Am I clear !?"
Monami nodded but not before muttering under her breath, "Khadoos", which unfortunately Karan heard and said to tease her, "Heard it, Cadet Monami Mahajan."
Monami looked at him surprised and quickly went to her room before she can further embarrass herself while Karan continued gazing at her retreating figure with a slight, smile adorning his face at her antics.
