"Killi, are we there yet?" I whined, poking her shoulder.
"Look who's impatient now, huh, Lu."
"It's been like 5 hours!"
"Yes, we're almost there. Look, you can see the town in the distance." she said, patting my shoulder.
"Finally," I replied, rolling my eyes and standing up to stretch. "I'll go get Dusty and Talon."
"Okay, have fun."
I gave a nod and sneezed, letting out a groan. "Killian, I'm going to kill you!" I shouted, making my way to Dustin and Talon's room.
"Knock knock, it's time to get out of your room and into the main room." I told them through the door sweetly. I heard no reply, and I gave a small groan as I opened the door. They were sleeping. Of course.
"Killian, do you have an air horn or something of the sorts?" I asked her as she appeared right next to me.
"We're here, but yes, I do. Why?"
"I'd hate to ask why you have one, and how more likely, but can I have it?"
"It's a bit tiny. I always keep it in my pocket." she explained sheepishly, handing me the small air horn.
"How have I not seen this sticking out of your pocket? I asked her, staring at it.
"If you haven't noticed, you're not the least bit observant. You're always racing." she shot me a look as if to say, 'slow the hell down, girl'.
I gave a small snort and stuck the air horn inside, pressing the button. We weren't talking about that, Brinley said the same thing. A loud noise came from the can, and I gave a grin as I winced, trying to block out the noise. I quickly retreated from the door when I heard a thump and shouting.
"Here you are, Killi." I said, giving her back the air horn as she stuffed it into her jacket pocket.
"What the actual hell?"
"Wake up call, boys. Get your shit together so we can go and find Ink's owner!" Killian shouted, bursting into the room.
"If you're going to wake us up like that everytime, count me out with traveling." Dustin muttered, going to find a shirt.
Talon laid there with an arm over his eyes, ignoring us.
"Make sure he follows, Dusty." Killian said with a grin.
I peaked over Killians shoulder, rolling my eyes. "Let's go." I called, sneezing. "Damn it."
"Shh, don't swear, it sounds weird when you do!" Killian complained, picking up the dog that had scurried out of Dustin's room.
Oops. I may have forgotten the dog was in there. Poor dog.
"Shut up."
"Let's go, come on. If they take longer than 5 minutes I'm going to kick their asses." Killian muttered, following me, dog in arms.
"We're here, chill yourselves." Talon growled, crossing his arms and glaring at us.
"Like the way you were woken up?" Killian said sweetly to the two, turning towards me.
"Okay guys, so obviously we're fugitives, since we've pretty much kidnapped two Soul Squadron members.." I muttered, turning to the window.
People scurried by, giving us no less than a passerby glance. The houses were nice and clean, most were cream colored, others were white. Some kids were playing outside, others were sitting on the ground and benches, talking or just relaxing.
"Hello? Earth to Lu?" Killian said, waving her hand in front of my face.
I gave a sneeze from her hand, which was just holding the dog, and sent her a glare. "What did you say?" I asked, turning back to the group.
"I said, does it really matter? If they cared, they would have pursuited us by now." Talon said, rolling his eyes at me. "By the way, Soul Squadron? What's that?"
"The name the common folk, us, created for the police force. Slang I suppose." I explained quietly.
"Anyways, why wouldn't they have cared? You guys are..great at your jobs." I lied, giving them a sheepish smile.
"Oh shut up." Dustin said, slinging an arm over Talon's shoulder. "We suck, we were either bound to get fired or left behind. You know, half the time Halton had to come and get our criminals for us. We always argued how to catch the person." he explained, giving me and Killian a small smile.
"Are you guys like, brothers?" Killian piped up.
"Not by blood, but pretty much."
"Sadly." Talon grumbled, trying to throw Dustin's arm off his shoulder.
"Oh shush, you know you would be lost without me." Dustin teased.
"Let's get going before you both start to act like toddlers." I muttered, looking around. "Killi, where's my keys?"
"Oh, in my pocket, don't worry." Killian reassured me.
I gave her a nod and opened the RV, stepping out into the busy town. Crazy how you can just park anywhere and people don't mind anymore.
"Let's get looking for the person who lost the dog." I told Killian.
I watched as Killian rushed forwards, knocking on a door and shoving the dog into the man's face.
"Killi, don't just shove things into peoples faces!" I scolded, running after her, Talon and Dustin right behind me.
"It's not a thing, it's a dog!" she stuck out her tongue as the man shut the door. "He said that there's a lady around here that has been missing a dog. Let's go check it out." she suggested, motioning for us to follow.
I shuffled behind her, giving another sneeze and groaned. I can't wait till this dog was gone.
"Are you absolutely sure that we can't keep the pup?" Killian called over her shoulder, trying to find the woman's house. "He said it should be around here somewhere.."
"Unless you want me sneezing and groaning all night, I'd advise not to."
"Aw, you're not fun!" Killian whined, stopping in front of a house.
It was a light red color, some could argue pink, with white everything. White doors, window frames, even white dots on the house. The fence was white, and I could see why the house was so far out. It didn't match with the rest of the town, obviously.
"That's some house, huh?" Dustin asked, staring at it.
"Let's get knocking, I guess." I said, motioning for Killian to knock on the door.
"You knock, I don't want to drop the dog."
"God you're such a child." I muttered, pushing past her, holding my breath. Let's not sneeze on this nice lady, shall we?
I knocked on the door, and heard barking. Oh no. Please. Not dogs.
The door opened, and there was a lady, a jacket wrapped around her, holding a dog in her arms. Dogs surrounded the woman's feet, barking and jumping at her legs.
I turned away, sneezing loudly. "A-ah I'm sorry I'm allergic to dogs—" I let away another sneeze and took a step back, sniffing.
"Is this your dog? We found him in Hotel Prism's parking lot," Killian chirped, holding out the dog and rushing up past me.
The lady almost burst into tears. "Ink! My sweet, sweet Ink! Come to mother!" she managed to choke out from her tears of happiness, taking the dog from Killian's outstretched hands and into her own, dropping her other dog.
I gave another sneeze, covering my nose with my arm. "Okay so we can go now." I muttered, taking another step back.
"Wait right here, I need to pay you guys back!" she exclaimed, rushing off, her dogs following in tow.
"I swear if she gives up a photo of all of her dogs I'm going to shatter that photo in front of her." I heard a voice mutter.
I chuckled and turned around, going to scold whoever had said my fears. "Be nice, now." I said to Talon, holding up a finger.
"Oh, please, you don't have to—" Killian protested, but the door slammed. She came trudging back, dropping a small pouch of something into my hands.
"What is that?" I asked, removing my arm from my nose. I unwrapped the string from around the top of the pink pouch, looking inside. "It's..money," I sputtered out, staring at it.
"Woah, really? I thought it was going to be, like, little dog figurines." Killian cooed, looking over my shoulder.
"Hey give it to us, we need clothes." Dustin chimed, putting his palm out.
"Is there a store for clothing? I didn't see one, really."
"Me and Talon were usually stationed here. We went to go goof off all the time." Dustin shot us a grin, plucking the pouch from my hand.
"Have fun, Dusty." I said, waving to them both as they hurried off.
"Hey, can we find more hot guys to travel with us? Did you see all those envious stares we had?"
"What? Envious stares? Since when?" I asked, confused.
"Man girl, you need to slow down and take time to notice things." she muttered, tugging at her hair.
"Shut up, let's just go back to the RV." I muttered, my eyes wandering around.
No way in hell am I slowing down. We lost too much time for trying to find this dog's owner.

"So you like the color yellow." Killian stared at me, shaking her head.
"Yes, I've told yout his three times already. Do you not listen? It was your idea to play 20 questions while they were gone." I snapped, getting agitated.
"You get so angry so easily." Killian muttered, tilting her head. "Why do you like it?"
"It's bright. I like bright things. Unsure of why I like you, then." I shot back, watching her face so to mock hurt.
"Wow, rude," she scoffed, crossing her arms.
"Its not like I could get rid of you anyways. You'd glue yourself to the RV if need be."
"Funny thing is I would." she confessed, shooting me a grin. She jumped up, grabbing my hand and tugged me towards the bathroom.
"What are you doing?" I hissed, trying to yank my hand away from hers.
"Shush! They're back, we're going to scare them!" she grinned at me mischieviously.
"Are we now?" I told her, unimpressed. I was shoved into the bathroom with Killian, and she shut the door. "The only reason this is going to work is because the bathroom is before the rooms-" a hand clamped around my mouth, Killian glaring at me.
Dustin and Talon's voices got louder.
"Come on, my arms hurt so much! I don't understand how guys do this for girls!" I heard him whine, and I could see him pouting.
Killian shot me a look, and she pushed the door open, screeching at them. Dustin and Talon cursed as I pounced out after her, landing on their butts, clothes going everywhere.
KIllian was on the floor, and I was about doubled over. They were glaring at us, but it wasn't very effective in the slightest.
"We're going to get you guys back, like, tenfold." Talon growled, standing up, as if he hadn't just fallen in the most ungraceful way.
"seems like you're about as graceful as a drunk swan on crack, Talon." I quipped, finally being able to throw that comment back at his face.
He scowled, lifting up his head, as if that changed the fact he looked like he was going to cry a few moments before.
"Yeah!" Dustin chimed in, leaning over to Talon. "Are we? I don't do pranks as well as you do though,"
"Yeah we will." he said sharply, staring at me, his black eyes now intimidating.
Uh oh. What have we done. He's probably going to stab me and then say it was a joke.
"Goodluck." Killian taunted, standing next to me and giving me a reassuring grin.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
I woke up to a shriek, some cursing, and the thump of feet. Oh god. Already? What time is it? I jumped out of bed, pressing against the wall.
I heard more cursing and Dustin's voice taunting Killian, running past me door. I swallowed, clutching my shirt, taking deep breaths. It's okay, it's okay. It's okay.
"Oh Lucy?" I heard a male's voice drawl as the door opened, the light entering my room slightly.
Talon isn't permitted to say my name anymore, I mentally noted.
"Found you!"
I felt a piercing sensation on my stomach, as I realize that freezing water was being shot at me. I squealed, pressing my hands forwards to the blast, trying to divert it. "S-stop!" I screeched, hearing the hose drop and laughing, the boy disappearing.
I stared at the mess Talon had made, and I growled, racing after the boy. I saw his brown hair go into the front, and I heard the door slam shut. Talon. Of bucking course he'd flee. "Killi?"
"Lu! Can we go after them?" she pleaded me, her black hair plastered to her face.
"Nah, I've got a better idea." I told her, wringing out my hair as I walked to the door.
"What are you doing?" she asked, popping her head around the corner. "Oh, are you locking them out?"
"I am." I said, locking the door and going back into the main room.
"How are you so calm?" Killian asked.
"Well, my dad used to play pranks like this all the time on me and Brinley." I explained, now wringing out my shirt. "Before, you know," I grumbled, my fingers touching my bracelet, making sure it was still there.
Killian jumped as a pounding started on the door, along with some cursing and screaming at us to let us in.
"Ignore it, I'm guessing it won't stop until it's morning." I told her quietly, patting the seat next to me.
"You do realize that we've started a war?"
"I do, and we're going to win it." I claimed, holding my hand out for a high-five. "I just don't they don't get too cold." I muttered, letting the worrisome side of me show once again.
"Oh, they deserve it. It's not like it's the middle of winter. It's like, what, June?" Killian chimed in, nudging my shoulder. "Even I wouldn't be that mean to let them outside in winter."
I nodded and leaned my head back, ignoring the shouts from the front.
Oh boy, what have we done.
