After what happen in Kansas, the boys and I have been trying everything to pick up some clue on where their dad is. And I mean everything. Reading the journal cover to cover, calling everyone that has even a fraction of a friendly relationship with John... which is a very small list.

Sam was calling up all of John's friends on his phone, Dean was flipping through the journal, and I was scrolling on Sam's laptop. "No, Dad was in California last we heard from him. We just thought... he comes to you for 'munitions.... maybe you've seen him in the last few weeks. Just, call us if you hear anything..... thanks." Sam said into his phone before hanging it up and sighing in disappointment. "Caleb hasn't heard from him?" Dean asked

"Nope. And neither has Jefferson or Pastor Jim. What about the journal? Anything leads in there?" Sam asked, looking over at Dean. "No, same as last time I looked. Nothing I can make out... I love the guy, but I swear, he writes like frigging Yoda." He replied.

"You know, maybe we should call the Feds. File a missing person's." I suggested, Dean look up from the journal, staring cross at me. "We've talked about this. Our Dad be pissed if we put the Feds on his tail." He said, I shrugged. "Well we're running out of options here." I said.

"(Name's) right Dean. I don't care anymore." Sam said. A cellphone then stares ringing and Dean got up from the table, walking across the room to his bed. "After all that happened back in Kansas, I mean... he should've been there, Dean. You said so yourself. You tried to call him and... nothing." Sam said.

"I know!" Dean snapped back as he rummages through his duffel bag. "Where the hell is my cellphone?" He asked. "You know, he could be dead for all we know." Sam said. "Don't say that! He's not dead! He's... he's..." Dean stammered, trailing off. "He's what? He's hiding? He's busy?" Sam asked.

Dean finds his phone and flicks it open. "Huh. I don't believe it." He muttered. "What?" Sam and I asked. "It's, uh.... It's a text message. It's coordinates." He replied. He took the laptop from me and begins typing on it. "You think Dad was texting us?" Sam asked. "He's given us coordinates before." Dean said.

"The man can barely work a toaster, Dean." Sam said. "Sam, it's good news! It means he's okay, or alive at least." Dean said. "Well, was there a number on the caller ID?" I asked. "Nah, it said 'unknown'." Dean replied. "Well, where do the coordinates point?" Sam asked. "That's the interesting part. Rockford, Illinois." Dean replied.

"Okay, and that's interesting how?" Sam asked. "I checked the local Rockford paper. Take a look at this." Dean said, turning the laptop for Sam and I to see a news article he had pulled up. Sam walk over and lean over me to look at the laptop.

I held my breath for a moment, feeling his chest pressed against my back and his chin hovering over my head, as he look down at the laptop. It felt like a hundred butterflies were swarming around in my stomach and my face heated up, like it was on fire.

"This cop, Walter Kelly, comes home from his shift, shoots his wife, then puts the gun in his mouth, blows his brains out. And earlier that night, Kelly and his partner responded to a call at the Roosevelt Asylum." Dean explained. "Okay, I'm not following. What has this have to do with us?" Sam asked.

"Dad earmarked the same asylum in the journal. Let's see..." Dean said, picking up the journal to skim through it. "Here. Seven unconfirmed sightings, two deaths... till last week at least. I think this is where he wants us to go." He said.

Sam scoffs and steps away from the table, running his hands through his hair. I frown, already missing him being so close. "This is a job... Dad wants us to work a job." He said, looking back at Dean and I. "Well, maybe we'll meet up with him? Maybe he's there?" Dean said, looking up from the journal hopeful.

"Maybe he's not? I mean, he could be sending us there, by ourselves, to hunt this thing." Sam said. "Who cares! If he wants us there, it's good enough for me!" Dean said, closing the journal and standing up. "This doesn't strike you as weird? The texting? The coordinates?" Sam asked him. "Sam! Dad's telling us to go somewhere, we're going." Dean said, firmly and walks off towards the bathroom.

Sam sighs, turning to me. "What do you think?" He asked, I shrugged. "This is definitely weird. But it's also the best lead we've had in months. And we can't just leave it alone now and risk more people getting hurt." I said. Sam sigh again and slowly nodded. "Yeah... you're right." He muttered.

We drove over to Rockford and found Walter's partner at a bar, drinking his sorrows away. "You're Daniel Gunderson. You're a cop, right?" Dean asked the cop, walking up to him first. "Yeah." Daniel replied. "Huh. I'm uh, Nigel Tufnel, The Chicago Tribune. Mind if I ask you a couple of questions, about your partner?" Dean asked, sitting across from him.

"Yeah, I do. I'm just trying to have a beer here." Daniel grumbled. "That's okay, I swear it won't take that long. I just want to get the story in your words." Dean said. "A week ago, my partner was sitting in that chair. Now he's dead. You gonna ambush me here?" Daniel asked. Sam glance at me, nodding, I nodded back, understanding.

"Sorry. But I need to know what happened." Dean said as we walk over to them. Sam grabs Dean and pushes him aside, roughly. "Hey buddy, why don't you leave the poor guy alone!" Sam yelled. "Yeah! The man's an officer! Why dontcha show a little respect!" I yelled, pointing at Daniel.

Dean pauses, staring at us then walks off. "You and your girlfriend didn't have to do that." Daniel said, making me blush. "Oh uh..." I started to say. "Yeah, course we did. That guy's a serious jerk." Sam said over me, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and just going along with it.

I look at his hand on my shoulder, mentally screaming to myself. "Let us buy you a beer, huh?" Sam asked, before looking over at the bartender. "Three?" He said, holding up three fingers.

Sam and I then sat down across from the officer. "Thanks." Daniel said. Sam smiles, throwing his arm over me again. I bit the bottom of my lip, nervously and nodded. My heart is beeping so fast, I feel like I'm gonna pass out at any second!

Later, after getting all the info we needed out of Daniel, Sam and I exit the bar and walk over to Dean, who's leaning on the Impala. "Shoved me kinda hard in there, buddy boy." Dean said to Sam. "I had to sell it, didn't I? It's method acting." He replied. "Huh?" Dean asked, confused. "Never mind." Sam said.

"What'd you guys find out from Gunderson?" Dean then asked us. "So, Walter Kelly was a good cop. Head of his class, even-keeled, he had a bright future ahead of him." I explained. "What about at home?" Dean asked. "He and his wife had a few fights, like everybody, but he was mostly smooth sailing. They were even talking about having kids." Sam said.

"Alright, so either Kelly had some deep-seated crazy waiting to bust out, or something else did it to him." Dean said. "Right." Sam said. "What'd Gunderson tell you guys about the asylum?" Dean asked. "A lot." I said.

We headed over to the asylum and jump over the tall chain linked fence to enter the building. "So apparently the cops chased the kids here.... into the south wing." Sam said, indicating a sign over one door. "South wing, huh? Wait a second" Dean said, taking out the journal to flips through it. "1972. Three kids broke into the south wing, only one survived. Way he tells it, one of his friends went nuts and started lighting up the place." He said, looking down at the pages.

"So whatever's going on, the south wing is the heart of it." I said. "But if the kids are spelunking the asylum, why aren't there a ton more deaths?" Dean asked. Sam looks around until he points to a broken chain on the ground. "Looks like the doors are usually chained. Could've been chained up for years." He said. "Yeah, to keep people out. Or to keep something in." Dean said, we looked at each other and Sam slowly pushes the door open.

We enter the south wing and walk down a hallway. "Let me know if you see any dead people, Haley Joel." Dean said to Sam. "Dude, enough." Sam grumbled, tried. "I'm serious. You gotta be careful, all right? Ghosts are attracted to that whole ESP thing you got going on." Dean said, taking out his EMF meter. "I told you, it's not ESP! I just have strange vibes sometimes. Weird dreams." Sam said.

"Yeah, whatever. Don't ask, don't tell." Dean said. "You get any reading on that thing or not?" Sam asked him. "Nope. Of course, it doesn't mean no one's home." He replied, waving the EMF meter around. "Spirits can't appear during certain hours of the day." I said "Yeah, the freaks come out at night." Dean grumbled. "Yeah." Sam said and we continue on down the hallway.

Dean then slightly turns to me with deadpan look. "Hey (Name), who do you think is the hotter psychic: Patricia Arquette, Jennifer Love Hewitt, or Sam?" He asked, raising his eyebrows. I look at him flustered and Sam pushes his brother, who laughs.

We enter a room looking around, as Dean whistles. "Man. Electro-shock. Lobotomies. They did some twisted stuff to these people. Kinda like my man Jack in Cuckoo's Nest." He said, then makes crazy eyes and grins at us.

Sam and I ignored him and Dean's smile drops. "So. What do you think? Ghosts possessing people?" He asked. "Maybe." I replied. "Or maybe it's more like Amityville, or the Smurl hunting." Sam said. "Spirits driving them insane. Kinda like my man Jack in The Shining." Dean said, grinning.

"Guys." Sam said and we looked at him. "When are we going to talk about it?" He asked. "Talk about what?" Dean asked. "About the fact Dad's not here." Sam replied. "Oh. I see. How about... never." Dean said. "I'm being serious, man. He sent us here..." Sam started to say.

"So am I, Sam. Look, he sent us here, he obviously wants us here. We'll pick up the search later." Dean said, interrupting him. "It doesn't matter what he wants." Sam said and Dean points at him. "See. That attitude? Right there? That is why I always get the extra cookie." He said.

I look between the boys, unsure if I should say anything or not. "Dad could be in trouble, we should be looking for him. We deserve some answers, Dean. I mean, this is our family we're talking about." Sam said.

"I understand that, Sam, but he's given us an order." Dean said. "So what, we gotta always follow Dad's orders?" Sam asked. "Of course we do." Dean replied and Sam gives him a frustrated look. Dean stares at him then turns away, ending the conversation.

He pokes around and picks up a sign. "'Sanford Ellicott'... You know what we gotta do. We gotta find out more about the south wing. See if something happened here." Dean walks away, leaving the sign with Sam, who stares down at it.

3rd Person P.O.V
Sam sits on couch in a waiting room, flicking through a magazine. A man comes to the open door. The sign on the door reads 'Dr James Ellicott, Clinical Psychiatry'. "Sam Winchester?" He asked, Sam looks up from the magazine. "That's me." He replied, Ellicott motions for him to come forward. "Come on in."

Sam set the magazine aside and walks into the inner room with Ellicott. "Thanks again for seeing me last minute." Sam said, Ellicott closed the door and sits at his desk getting ready as Sam looks around the room from where he was sitting.

His eyes soon landed on a sign that hanged on the wall above the desk. "Dr... Ellicott." He said and the doctor looked up from his desk. "Ellicott, that name. Wasn't there a... a Dr. Sanford Ellicott? Yeah, he was a chief psychiatrist somewhere." He said, Ellicott nodded.

"My father was chief of staff at the old Roosevelt Asylum. How did you know?" He asked. "Ah. Well, I'm sorta... a local history buff. Hey, wasn't there, an incident or something? In uh in the hospital, I guess. In the south wing, right?" Sam asked.

"We're on your dollar, Sam. We're here to talk about you." Ellicott said. "Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah. Sure." Sam said, seeming nervous. "So. How's things?" Ellicott asked. "Ah, things are good, doctor." Sam replied, grinning.

"Good. What have you been doing?" Ellicott asked. "Ahh, same old. I just been on a... on a road trip with my brother and our friend." Sam said, obviously wanting keep the 'supernatural' details to himself. "Was that fun?" Ellicott asked.

Sam pauses for a long moment, thinking. "Loads. Umm. You know, we... ahh...we... met... a lot of... interesting people. Did a lot of... ah... interesting things... ahhh. You know? What was it exactly that happened in the south wing? I forget..." He said, turning the conversation back onto the asylum.

"Look, if you're a local history buff, you know all about the Roosevelt riot." Ellicott said. "The riot. Well, no. I know. I'm just curious." Sam said, not backing down. "Sam. Let's cut the bull, shall we. You're avoiding the subject." Ellicott said, setting his notepad aside on his desk.

Sam looks at him surprised. "What subject?" He asked. "You. Now I'll make you a deal. I'll tell you all about the Roosevelt riot, if you tell me something honest about yourself. Like, uh, this brother and friend you're road tripping with. How do you feel about them?" Ellicott asked, Sam looks a little freaked out.

Sam thinks a moment. "Well... (Name) has been my friend since we were kids. Most times it feels like she's the only one who actually listens to me." He said, Ellicott nodded picking up his notepad and begins writing on it. "So she's a childhood friend, that you're very close to." He said, Sam nodded.

"Yeah. She's always been there when I needed her." Sam said, with a little affectionate smile. Ellicott notices this and raise an eyebrow, curious "Have you ever felt... attraction towards her?" He asked.

Sam drops his smile and looks surprised by the question. "No (Name)..." He pauses thinking it over for a moment. "...(Name) just a friend." He said, sounding unsure. Ellicott nodded as he writes on his notepad. "Hm. Now this brother of yours. How do you feel about him?" He asked, and Sam looks worried.

(Name's) P.O.V
Dean leans against the glass windows next to the door, looking bored. I stood near by also bored out of my mind. Finally Sam exits the building, walking right pass us. "Sam." I called out to him, we catch up and match his pace. "Dude! You were in there forever." Dean complained.

"What were you talking about?" I asked, Sam glances at me only to quickly look away. "Just... just the hospital, you know." He replied shrugging, keeping his eyes froward. "And...?" Dean asked.

"And the south wing? It's where the housed the really hard cases. The psychotics, the criminally insane." Sam said. "Sounds cozy." Dean said, sarcastically. "Yeah. And one night in '64, they rioted. Attacked staff. Attacked each other." Sam said.

"So the patients took over the asylum?" I asked. "Apparently." Sam replied. "Any deaths?" I asked next. "Some patients, some staff. I guess it was pretty gory. Some of the bodies were never even recovered, including our chief of staff, Ellicott." Sam explained.

"What do you mean, never recovered?" Dean asked. "Cops scoured every inch of the place but I guess the patients must've... stuffed the bodies somewhere hidden." Sam replied. "That's grim." I said. "Yeah. So, they transfered all the remaining patients and closed the hospital down." Sam said.

"So, to sum it up, we've got a bunch of violent deaths and a bunch of unrecovered bodies." Dean said. "And a bunch of angry spirits." Sam said. "Good times." Dean said, sarcastically "Let's check out the hospital tonight." I said, the boys nodded and we got in the Impala.

That night we return to the asylum. Sam pushes open the door, with Dean and I beside him. I was holding a flashlight, Sam was holding a video camera and Dean had the EMF meter.

"Getting readings?" I asked Dean. "Yeah, big time." He replied. "This place is orbing like crazy." Sam said, Dean and I look at the camera to see a tone of spirit orbs getting picked up in the night vision mode. "Probably multiple spirits out and about." Dean remarked.

"And if these uncovered bodies are causing the haunting..." Sam started. "We gotta find 'em and burn 'em. Just be careful though. The only thing that makes me more nervous than a pissed off spirit... is the pissed off spirit of a psycho killer." Dean grumbled. We kept walking till we felt something move behind us. We turn around to see nothing, not even in the camera. We turn back and continued on.

We kept looking, until we separated. Dean went into one room while Sam and I went into another. "God I hate asylum jobs." I muttered, as we looked around. "Yeah, tell me about." Sam said, in agreement.

We then hear a noise behind us and turn around, once again seeing nothing. We turn back to see an old woman through the video lens; white haired, one eye bloody and hanging out, moving toward us. "DEAN!!" We shouted. Dean runs into the room, rummaging in his bag at the same time. "Shotgun!" Sam yelled. "GUYS, GET DOWN!" Dean shouted.

Sam throws himself at me, pulling us both down to the ground. Dean shoots the woman and she disintegrates. Sam and I lay on the floor together, looking around, then at each other. We both gave a panicked look and pulled away from each other.

"That was weird." Sam said, looking around.
"Yeah. You're telling me." Dean said, before leaving the room, Sam and I followed him. "No, Dean, I mean it was weird that she didn't attack us." Sam said.

"Looked pretty aggro from where I was standing." Dean replied. "Sam's right Dean. She didn't hurt us. She didn't even try! So if she didn't wanna hurt us then what did she want?" I asked.

A noise comes from a room we were passing. Dean immediately raises his shotgun and I flick on the torch, shinning it into the room. We approach a metal bed covered in a ragged sheet and on it's side with the top of a blonde head behind it.

We brace ourselves, I reach out and tips the bed over. Behind it was a girl crouched facing the corner. She spins around, terrified and gasping. "It's alright, we're not going to hurt you. It's okay. What's your name?" Dean asked, her calmly. "Katherine. Kat." The girl replied looking between us, shaking. "Okay. I'm Dean, this is Sam and (Name)." Dean said, quickly introducing us.

"What are you doing here!?" I asked her. "Um. My boyfriend, Gavin." She said. "Is he here?" Dean asked. "Somewhere. He thought it would be fun, try and see some ghosts. I thought it was all just... you know. Pretend. I've seen things. I heard Gavin scream and..." Kat explained.

"Alright. Kat? Come on. Sam's gonna get you out of here and then we're gonna find your boyfriend." Dean said. "No! No. I'm not going to leave without Gavin. I'm coming with you." Kat said, frantically. "It's no joke around here, okay. It's dangerous." I said.

"That's why I gotta find him." Kat said, determine. The boys and I looked at each other, Sam shrugs. "Alright, I guess we gonna split up then. Let's go." Dean said and we split up again. Dean and Kat went one way, while Sam and I went the other way.

"Gavin.... Gavin?" Sam and I called out as we wander around. Eventually we found Gavin on the ground unconscious. Sam crouch beside him and shook him. Gavin wakes and freaks out. "Hey, Gavin. It's okay, we're here to help." Sam said to him, calmly. "Who are you guys?" Gavin asked, looking between Sam and I. "My name is Sam and this is (Name). Uh, we found your girlfriend." Sam said.

"Kat?" Gavin asked and Sam helps him up. "Is she alright?" He asked. "Yeah. She's worried about you. Are you okay?" I asked him. "I was running. I think I fell." He replied. "You were running from what?" Sam asked. "There was... there was this girl. Her face. It was all messed up." Gavin said, Sam and I exchanged looks. "Okay listen, did this girl... did she try and hurt you?" Sam asked him. "What? No, she...uh..." Gavin said, trailing off. "She what?" I asked.

"She... kissed me." Gavin replied. Sam and I blink in confusion. We look at each other then back at Gavin. "Uh... um... but... but she didn't hurt you, physically?" Sam asked him. "Dude! She kissed me. I'm scarred for life!" Gavin exclaimed. "Well, trust us, it could have been worse." I said.

"Now do you remember anything else?" Sam asked him. "She uh... actually, she tried to whisper something in my ear." Gavin said. "What?" Sam and I asked in unison. "I don't know. I ran like hell." He replied.

We made our way back in Dean and Kay's direction looking for them, when we heard screaming. We pick up the pace and ran down a hall, finding Dean beating on a door. "What's going on?" Sam asked. "She's inside with one of them." Dean replied. "HELP ME!!!" Kat shouted from the other side. "KAT!" Gavin yelled. "GET ME OUTTA HERE!" Kat screamed.

"Kat, it's not going to hurt you. Listen to me. You've got to face it. You've got to calm down." Sam said to her. Dean turn to his brother, astonished. "She's gotta what?!" He asked. "I HAVE TO WHAT?!" Kat shouted.

"These spirits, they're not trying to hurt us, they're trying to communicate. You gotta face it. You gotta listen to it." I said. "YOU FACE IT!" Kat shouted back. "No! It's the only way to get out of there." I said. "NO!" She screamed. "Look at it, come on. You can do it." Sam said.

It then goes quite as Kat has stopped screaming. "Kat?" Gavin called out, worried. "Man, I hope you're both right about this." Dean said. "Yeah, me too." Sam muttered. We wait in tense silence until the lock clicks and the door slowly opens.

Kat is standing in the doorway. "Oh, Kat." Gavin said, relieved. Dean pulls her out of the doorway as Sam goes inside to check out the room. He comes back out, shaking his head at Dean and I. "One thirty-seven." Kat said. "Sorry?" Dean asked. "It whispered in my ear. 137." Kat said. "Room number." The boys and I said in synch.

The boys and I crouch down, as Dean switches the batteries for his flashlight. "Alright. So if these spirits aren't trying to hurt anyone..." Sam started to say. "Then what are they trying to do?" Dean asked. "Maybe that's what they've been trying to tell us..." I said. "I guess we'll find out." Dean said.

"Alright." Sam said and we stood up turning to the teens. "So, now, are you guys ready to leave this place?" Dean asked them. "That's an understatement." Kat said. "Okay." Dean said and he turns to Sam and I. "You guys get them outta here. I'm going to go find room 137." He said.

Sam and I lead the teens down a hallway back towards the entrance. "So. How do you guys know about all this ghost stuff?" Kat asked us. "It's kinda our job." I replied. "Why would anyone want a job like that?" Kat asked.

Sam huffs a laugh. "I had a crappy guidance counselor." He said. "Mine wasn't so bad." I said, missing Bobby. "And Dean? He's your guys's boss?" Kat asked, Sam looks down at her. "No." He said, firmly.

Sam and I march down a hallway and Sam tries the door, but it's locked. I try another one, but it was also locked. "Alright. I think we have a small problem." Sam said to teens. "Then break it down." Gavin said, panic. "I don't think that's gonna work." I said.

"Then a window." He said. "They're barred." Kat said. "Then how are we supposed to get out?" Gavin asked, frantically. "That's the point. We're not. There's something in here. It doesn't want us to leave." Sam said. "Those patients..." Kat suggested and I shook my head. "No. Something else." I said.

Sam handed me the duffel bag and he went to check the other exits, while I stay with the teens to keep them safe. After a couple minutes Sam reappeared from around the corner and walk back towards us. "Alright, I've looked everywhere. There's no other way out." He said.

"So what the hell are we gonna do?" Gavin asked, frighten. "Well for starters, we're not gonna panic." I said. "Why the hell not?!" Gavin asked, clearly not listening to me and panicking.

Sam's phone then stars ringing and he answers. "Hey." He said into his phone. "Where are you?" He then asked, worried. "I'm on my way." Sam hangs up his phone and turns to me. "Dean says the Spirit is coming at him."

"Well then let's go." I said. "No. You stay with Kat and Gavin, keep them safe. I'll go down in the basement and help Dean." Sam said, as he handed me the shotgun. "Alright. Be careful." I said. "You too." Sam said, giving me a little smile.

A couple minutes went by after Sam left. I was leaning on the wall, Gavin paces, and Kat was crouches against the opposite wall of me. She signs. "Hey, Gavin?" She said, her boyfriend goes over to crouch beside her. "Yeah?" He asked. "If we make it out of here alive...we are so breaking up." Kat said and Gavin stares at her. Bummer.

We heard a noise around the corner, I step away from the wall as the teens rise. "Did you hear that?" Kat asked, as I aimed the shotgun down the hall. "Something's coming." Gavin said, frighten.

A moment later, Dean comes around the corner. I sigh in relieved and lower the shotgun. Until I notice Sam wasn't with him. Dean was Samless! "What are you still doing here!? Where's Sam?" He asked, walking towards us. "I was just about to ask you that." I said, anxiously.

"He went to the basement. You called him." Gavin said to Dean. "I didn't call anybody." Dean replied. "His cell phone rang. He said it was you." Kat said. "Basement, huh?" Dean asked. "Dean. If you didn't call him... then who did?" I asked.

"That's what I'm gonna find out." He replied, crouching down to rummage through the duffel bag. "Well then I'm coming with." I said. Dean stood back up looking at me and throwing the duffle bag over his shoulder. "What and leave two kids defenseless?" He said.

I look back at Gavin and Kat, seeing how scared they are. I groan turning back to Dean knowing he's right. "Just don't die, okay? Either of you. My life be pretty boring without you boys." I said. "Don't worry. I don't plan on. Watch yourselves." He said and headed off towards the basement.

Sam and Dean didn't return until dawn. With Dr. Ellicott gone, we were finally allowed to exit the asylum. "Thanks, guys." Kat said. "Yeah. Thanks." Gavin said. "No more haunted asylums, okay?" Dean said and they nod. We watch Gavin and Kat walk toward their car, then turn to the Impala.

"Hey, Dean?" Sam said, we stop walking and turn to look at him. "I'm sorry, man. I said some awful things back there." He said, I look between him and Dean, confused. "You remember all that?" Dean asked. "Yeah. It's like I couldn't control it. But I didn't mean it, any of it." Sam replied.

"You didn't, huh?" Dean asked. "No, of course not! Do we need to talk about this?" Sam asked. Dean goes to the Impala opening the driver side door. "No. I'm not really in the sharing and caring kinda mood. I just wanna get some sleep." He said, getting into the car.

"What happen down there in the basement?" I asked, turning to Sam. He sighs, shaking his head. "A lot. I'll tell you later." He said, I nodded and we got in the car to go back to motel for some well earned sleep.

3rd Person P.O.V
In the boys's motel room, Dean was asleep in his bed while Sam was wide awake in his, staring up at the ceiling in deep thought. He couldn't get Ellicott's question out of his head.

Sure (Name) is pretty and he gets along with her better than anyone. But he couldn't possibly be attracted to her... could he? He's always saw her as a friend he could turn to. The kind of friend that will be there for you no matter what trouble you're in.

But now by that one simple question, he felt like everything was different now. Like every interaction between them, had to put under a microscope and analyzed, to see if it was really just something friends do or something more was going on.

Sure they hug a lot, so they're pretty affectionate towards each other. But friends hug all the time! Plus (Name) is a woman so that can't make it weird, women hug a lot.

Now yes, he is more willing to open up about things bothering him to (Name), more than Dean. But once again that's because she's his best friend. Friends talk about their troubles, like they're each other's personal therapist. So that couldn't possibly mean anything.

Finally there was Jessica, he still grieving from her death. He still thinks about her everyday, so even if he was ready to move on, which he isn't. He couldn't be looking to (Name).

Yes, she has really help him deal with her death and in a bit of a way, she has filled the void Jess had left. By listening to his problems, reassuring him when he's down, and encouraging him to do his best.

But that's just (Name) being (Name), she's an incredibly loving person that always wants to help. That's one of the things he likes about her, she's one of the most caring people he knows. She looks at you with these 'you can tell me anything' eyes and has this cute little smile that somehow makes everything seem okay. It always makes him happy when he sees that smile of hers.

Sam furrow his brow, feeling like this internal conversation with himself has just gone around in circles. Leading him right back to where he started and questioning if he could really be attracted to her.

A phone then starts ringing on the nightstand, interrupting his internal dilemma. "Dean." Sam said, turning his head to look over at his bed, Dean doesn't move and remains asleep.

Frowning, Sam grabs Dean's phone from the nightstand and checks the number, then flips it open. "Hello." He said, tiredly. He listens, then sits straight up in bed, shocked. "Dad?"
