You looked at yourself in the mirror. You hated your appearance, why couldn't you look like everyone else? Why did you have to look so ugly?
You didn't get it. You tried so hard to make everyone like you, but they always ignored you. Were you annoying? Not pretty enough? Too basic? Too over-the-top? You put your head in your hands. Why couldn't they all like you? Why couldn't to just be good enough for them? You sighed as you walked out. Your boyfriend Deimos was sitting in the living room, chatting to his best friend Sanford. They looked up as you walked in. You felt like they were judging you. Deimos waved at you and gestured at you to sit down next to him. You took a seat next to him, trying to look like nothing was bothering you. The two were talking about video games and which ones were good and bad. "Dude, Pokémon is amazing! How do you not like it?!" Deimos yelled. "It's just really boring to me, jeez, we don't have to like all the same things chucklehead" Sanford said, lightly punching Deimos on the arm. "I really like insert favourite video game here" you said. The two stopped talking for a moment . You instantly felt like you said something wrong. Just as you thought they were about to say something, they continued to talk to each other like you hadn't said anything. You felt left out, had you said something wrong? You had only told them what video game you liked, did they not like that game? Did they hate you now? You stood up and silently left, wondering if Sanford and Deimos now hated you.
Later that night, you were lying on your bed when there was a knock on the door. "Hey babe, can I come in?" Deimos said. "Sure" you said. Deimos walked in a lay down next to you. "Hey babe, what's up? Something seems to be bothering you lately" Deimos said, looking at you with concern. "It's fine Dei" you said, looking away. He gently put his hand on your cheek "babe, you can tell me if somethings wrong, I won't judge" he said smiling. Without thinking, the words tumbled out of your mouth "I've been feeling really insecure lately, and I feel like everybody is judging me, did I do something wrong? Is it the way I dress? Is it something else? Am I annoying?" You blurted out. Deimos looked at you in shock "baby, you haven't said anything wrong, you're not annoying, and I love the way you dress!" Deimos leaned in and gave you a kiss on the cheek. You smiled "thanks babe, I love you" you said, kissing him back. He put his arms around you and pulled you close
"You'll always be perfect to me" Deimos whispered in your ear.
